"yeah I think we're fine" replied y/n, shutting the door of the studio behind.
the crew was packing everything up ; the season prior of "bts in the soop" seemed to have been a success, so during the break, instead of going to see her parents, y/n was forced to take a 5 hour journey alongside the man who broke her heart to hide in landscapes and work, work, work.
it was not exactly how she wanted to spend the week.
"this ride will never end" Jin sighed from beside her, dramatically throwing his head back.
"I'm with you, not a fan of long travels myself" y/n replied, while she was fastening her seatbelt.
taehyung, who was sitting behind her, heard Namjoon to his right ask "isn't your flight home like 10 hours long?"
y/n chuckled "exactly", but taehyung didn't fail to see how her eyes saddened at the mention of home, her home.
"come on, we'll have time to rest while we're there" the boy had tried to ease the mood.
"yeah, speak for yourself, I'll have to run behind you pranksters".
jin lightly chuckled, a smile lighting up his face as namjoon protested in the back.
y/n was smiling too now but it seemed just like a sob to the blue and grey boy.
y/n's eyes traveled to the car in front of theirs, Jungkook was carrying inside the last baggage when the car left the parking lot.
it was going to be a long journey.
"this place is majestic" jimin laughed, followed by everyone's awe breaths.
the house chosen for the filming had been restored in a month, leaving the three enormous complexes absolutely stunning and, well, majestic.
"I can't believe we get to rest" y/n heard Jungkook's sweet voice whisper far from her.
Eunwoo, who came after the girl, held his hand on her back guiding her into the scenery.
"hitman says the two houses on the right are for the boys, the left is for a couple of us while the rest will stay on the nearest hotel"
"but it's more than an hour away" y/n pointed out to which Eunwoo sighed, "that's why we'll have to get most of the project by ourselves".

while the boys left the crew to go travel their own houses, y/n stepped into what seemed the lounge of the troupe's house.
"okay, let's decide the rooms".
y/n ended up having the room on the very right, a spacious space with everything you might need: an indipendente door on the left to leave unnoticed and a nice little balcony to which she could see the main garden that touched the three main complexes.
as she was looking ahead, her gaze lost in the late sunrise, y/n's phone lightened up.
taezz: I got the worst room of all, can I come sleep in yours?
y/n: jeez, I see you are a survival guy.
taezz: I didn't get to 27 without a little struggle.
after the night y/n had cried herself to desperation in that dark ally between Taehyung's arms, the duo could do nothing but grow closer.
you do not cry in front of someone and not bond with them.
y/n found that taehyung, against what he seemed to be like the first time she met him under the grey sky, was in fact a sweet and caring soul.
just a nice guy, who was very fun to be with, actually.
and the only one who knew about her complicated (but not very) feelings towards the youngest too.
not even Jimin was in fact aware of y/n's feelings, even if he was indeed y/n's closest.
a knock on her door seemed to distract her as she locked her phone leaving it on the bed.
"I'm coming!"
"hey there" jimin greeted her, his straight hair a dark mess as he entered the room.
"wondering if you had eaten, everyone's outside deciding on what to eat".
y/n sighed heavily as she plopped down onto her bed, "not really hungry".
but jimin was far from surrender as he sat close to her, their arms touching as he looked her way.
"what's going on?" the boy asked, to which y/n half-thrutfully replied: "homesick".
the singer softly sighed, his hand leaving his side to rest on the girl's shoulder, softly comforting her.
"I get it, I feel it all the time too" jimin sighed again, this time more loudly.
y/n smiled kindly to the boy, her heart full of gratefulness.
"I always wonder if I did the right thing, choosing a path that got me far from my little town, from my own country, from my family".
"my dad used to tell me that kids with big dreams need more space to fit, your town must have been too little for you to breath".
y/n chuckled softly, both amused and touched.
"your father must be a very wise man" she smiled.
"just like his son" the boy replied, getting up from the bed and extending his arm.
"let's get some food in you before you go to sleep".
y/n happily held out her hand.
dinner had been quick and franatic, everyone was preparing mentally for the next day, going around asking about plans, cameras, meteo.
y/n had had enough when the fifth crew member came asking her if she thought the shooting would have been better to start at 6 or 7 the next morning.
so, greeting goodnight, she promised to recollect there the next morning, at 7am, to start the work.
and then she left, took a quick shower, and drawned herself into her bed sheets, they smelled like wood, like rain, they smelled like Taehyung.
the bed sheets were the most comfort she had had in years and she did not feel like leaving it, not even when her alarm rang through the room, but she had to.
her responsible side won the battle, leaving comfort behind as y/n got to her feet leaving for the bathroom to get ready.
the air was chilly but a good kind, the may breeze brought a new sense of purpose through the crew as the group discussed which sides were better to portrait.
"the cameras inside the house are gonna shoot their routine, we just need to follow them around for activities" y/n spoke calmly as the group nodded their heads.
"lunch will take place under the porch, so start get some cameras in position, while today, I read" her eyes scanning the schedule the boys had decided on "Namjoon is going on a bike ride, how about you guys take care of it?" she asked a group of people nearby as she started walking around the grass.
"you guys can stay by the pool, I see Hoseok and Taehyung wrote something about a pool party".
"you two" her voice steady "you'll follow Jungkook and Jimin by the tennis field".
the first half an hour went on like that, dividing resources, giving out tasks.
the next hour was spent having breakfast, as people slowly started to leave the table and get the equipment, it was an awfully long and hard process the one of shooting outside, there were at least an hundred aspects to take care of for just a minute of footage, let alone hours.
the big garden was full of people scattered here and there as Eunwoo softly touched y/n's shoulder.
"are you sure you're fine?"
y/n looked at the man as she smiled softly, "I am".
"fine then, but we should get going, it's gonna be 9 soon".
y/n hummed as she quickly made a turn for her bedroom, the sun was starting to get into her eyes and she so much needed her baseball cap.
taking her phone from the night stand, she found a set of messages she failed to read the night before.
two were from her mother, the others were random messages the boys felt like sending her.
mama: going for a morning walk, miss you
mama:*photo attached*
y/n felt like crying, but the photo of her mother walking her dog around made her feel worse, if possibile.
quickly replying, she went on to read the rest of the unread messages:
taezz: it's 4 am I still can't sleep but Jimin's on the rescue
taezz: thanks again for letting me sleep on this rock they call a mattress
jungkook: are you alright? you seemed off at dinner
jungkook: we didn't really get to talk lately
there it was, what she had feared the most, Jungkook's sudden realization something had switched, something had changed between them.
her little crush was humiliating enough, but letting jungkook know about her feelings and undermine her professionalism was absolutely not in her plan.
so she answered lightly.
y/n: you're right kook, I've been so busy
y/n: I'm fine though don't worry
a sigh escaped her lips as she opened Taehyung's chat
y/n: yo loser, bet you're still sleeping
y/n: we grown ups have been working since 7 so it's just right we get the comfortable beds
taehyung, not to her surprise, didn't respond right away, but nonetheless it made her smile.
jungkook: I see, let's hang out later when the shooting is done
Jungkook's message shined on her phone as she stared at it until it disappeared.
why was jungkook awake? why were her feelings still a complicated mess?
shutting her phone down and pushing it in the back of her jeans, she left the room, a new wave of nostalgia screamed at her to hide inside the blankets, but as Jin waved at her in the distance, she knew the day had started.
