astarion #haterz are crazy like genuinely you people are almost as stupid as AA stans . and no I’m not disagreeing that he’s evil, I’m just kinda baffled that him being the way he is means we have to pretend that Minthara wasn’t literally a cleric of LOLTH who actively encourages you to make all of the worst, most evil choices in the game, even if you’re doing a “good” run with her.

“BUT DONT U GET IT … she was being MIND CONTROLLED when she KILLED everyone in the grove.” Not even joking this was some of the justification in the comments and like. Idk what to even say to this. The reason she’s mad about the mind control is not because it made her murder innocent people, she’s mad because she feels violated. She’s perfectly fine with murdering whoever she wants as long as she’s in control of her own actions. She’s a noble drow woman from fucking menzoberranzan, and she left for personal reason, not because she’s a hippie on a peace activism journey. Like look I know shes hot and I know that these people don’t like astarion because. Idk. Reasons. He gets too much attention or whatever. But do we really have to do this dance. Do we really have to pretend that the evil drow woman is actually not an evil bitch just because some people like to pretend the evil twink is not also evil.

I actually saw some discussion about how Astarion may come off more evil simply because he’s much more selfish than Minthara is. Which sure maybe. And also if we’re talking Minthara vs AA, astarion is definitely and by far the worse person there LOL. But I think some people just generally overcompensate with how much they dislike Astarion because he’s The guy. He got the exact fanbase that anyone would have been able to guess he would get, and a lot of the people in that fanbase are . Annoying. (and also women but I’m not going to get into that since the video wasn’t by a man and I know the creator enough to know that they probably aren’t coming at it from a EW WOMEN perspective) and in fact they are loud enough that they are fairly consistently able to push for more content for their particular character. Meanwhile Wyll has been sitting in camp looking pretty for a year because idk. Reasons.

anyways astarion at least has a path where he becomes a better person. Maybe not a “good” person, but definitely a better person. Even on Minthara’s most morally “good” path she’s STILL disappointed that you don’t accept bhaal/take control of the brain. whatever though lol.

unfortunately my third eye is open and I’m the only one who understands any of these characters apparently
