A pinup I did for the Volume 3 collection of Distillum! If you haven’t read Distillum yet, it’s a fun, action-adventure type comic by the lovely Sarah Dill, set in Savannah, with lovable characters and a great sense of humor.

This is a piece I did lately for the lovely miss Sarah Dill for the print version of her comic Distillum. If you're into spooky/cool time and space bending adventures with a grand cast of characters and some sweet-swiggity writing, it's totes worth your time. Also its a fictional story in a real-world setting, Savannah, Georgia , which is something I love in fiction, especially when that real world location is not the biggest city in any given nation, i.e, Paris, L.A, London. Sidney Marchant is one of my faves, and I've always liked her design. (Though I was dumb and missed her eyebrow piercing T_T) I'm sorry Pickllllesss! You can find her comic here. WEBCOMIC BOOST: preservedcucumbers' Distillum

Rob has always had a strange yet convenient power to see lost items in time, which he doesn't quite understand. He discovers that his ability has more repercussions than he could have imagined when he and his best friend Jamie rescue a woman named Kavitha with his clairvoyance. He accidentally screws with fate, altering the nature of her entire life and causing a ripple effect that spreads throughout the city of Savannah, Georgia.

Now, Rob, Jamie, and Kavitha are deeply involved in ancient matters that ultimately challenge the way they've understood the world and lived up to this point. With questionable assistance from Sidney, a mysterious woman who knows more than she lets on, Rob struggles to learn more about himself and to fix what he accidentally broke.

Check out this fabulous comic that I've had the utmost pleasure colouring. My goodness, I could go on forever with this and make crazy amounts of detail, but comics aren't where's waldo pages. Boohoo.

Stuff I bought at Swarmcon! A very dapper looking Goldie (which funny enough I first saw this on Storenvy as a recommendation for me, some time ago. I had it in my wishlist there and was excited to see it for sale at the con.) I got the last one in the small prints for this image. The next is a print of lovely lady from an artist who held the "Self Publishing" panel. It was a great panel, very informative and concise, she was well organized. I dropped by her Artist Alley table later and bought this print. It is one of the characters from her webcomic, Distillum. I have not read it, but I will be sure to check it out sometime, when I'm not so busy.  The last print is of an awesome fan illustration for Metal Gear Solid 3. I could not pass it up! You'll notice there are two of them here. That is because I got one for myself and one for my sister. I bought the last two prints of this they had, such luck! I also got a cute little green button the says "One Fine Feline" and has some cute little cat faces on it.  So I had good time while I was there, but now to get back to work!

I’ll be at Asheville Comic Expo this Saturday in Asheville, NC! I’ll be selling some of my final copies of Distillum, as well as copies of Family Pets and the horror anthology, Then It Was Dark! I’ll also have a Tales Of sketchbook, mini prints, posters, minicomics, and I’ll be taking a limited number of commissions!

Webcomic Wednesday!

Distillum by Sarah 'Pickles' Dill

When Rob and Jamie save Kavitha's life, they notice weird things happening around them. They meet Sidney, and now they fix snags in the fabric of time. Meanwhile shady people are watching them.

The only real queer representation is Sidney, but no romantic relationships have been expanded on. The focus is on Rob, Jamie, and Kavitha, and they quickly form a close knit group. Sidney's character has had very little focus, but I imagine in later chapters she will be explored more. The cast isn't currently very big, including the currently undeveloped shady antagonist-looking guy. Sidney's main connection is through Rob (and her grandmother), who she spends the most time training with.

The comic doesn't feel like it's very far in, and there's room to expand on all the characters. There's definitely something tragic in Sidney's past, and there's probably a flashback in her future. I'm interested to see where the comic will go and what arcs the characters will have.

my friend Pickles has been pretty bogged down with work lately so i thought i'd draw something to try and help lighten things a little, even if it's just a little doodle

The picture on the left was used to practice inking, so the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd on there is the order that I inked them.

All of them were really fun to draw. I love Pickle's style and characters. <3 I'll probably end up drawing them again. :P

P.S. I sent you a thank you message, Pickles, but I don't think it went through because we were driving through mountains at the time. orz

So there's this web comic called Distillum that I really enjoy. If you like comics or stories then I suggest that you check it out. (Click through for the first chapter).

I don't really want to spoil any of the story trying to give a good recommendation and review because I stumble over words. I will say that the comic makes me want to visit Savannah, GA because of the attention to detail and mentioning specific areas of the city. The dimensional characters are really well thought out and come to life through Sarah Dill's graceful line work. And the story itself is really intriguing and discusses a concept that I can never get enough of. I can't wait to see where it goes.
