i mainly got good at colors because of rick and morty hashtag skull emoji
#when i first started drawing them it really felt kinda weird to use warm palettes (which was what i was mostly doing back then) with them#i think in one of my super early posts i mention as well how the show and the fanbase kind of encourage “trippy” visuals#so i felt like using more extreme and striking colors fit them better#its also when i started tinkering and experimenting with different palettes and that also made me just sort of umm-#disregard(?) certain arbitrary coloring rules that i had set for myself#like in summary. that post thats like “to get good at art you need to become disgusting obsessed with something”#really rings true like slash srious
