DS Angel! (Part 1) That’s good! I’m glad you’ve finished successfully! And thank you very much! That is very true indeed about the ups and down around the holidays! And of course! I am kind of a fan of those fonts because they look so nice! ^^ And that is so true! And sweet! I can’t wait to show you either! :)
You’re welcome! :D Fonts sometimes overwhelm me because there are so many and while some of them are very different, some of them only have little differences and that tends to be too much for me at times. But the pretty fonts are always fun to use!
Actually, I’m not sure if the books are better than the movies. With this series, it’s hard for me to decide. I kind of like the books more because there’s the Magician’s Nephew, The Boy and His Horse and the other books that don’t have a movie which gives you more insight into Narnia. At least The Magician’s Nephew and The Boy and His Horse give much more insight between the movies that have already been made. The others are just nice to let you know what happens after. The differences between book and movie aren’t too bad to make the better so much better as instead, it’s a little different. All in all, if Netflix does a good job with the Narnia series I’ve heard they’re working on, then I don’t think you really have to read the books to get the idea because the movies did a pretty good job following the books. Sorry, that was a pretty long rant.

DS Angel! :) (Part 1) Your response really did make me feel content. That really does make me smile. :) Some of your writing is very beautifully written (or typed), it amazes me how words can be used to make unique descriptions. :) And whoa, I never saw writer’s block in a positive way before. You really did give me some incite about the subject! And for the different mediums to write, I’ll try them when I hit writer’s block again. :) Thank you for your advice. It was much appreciated!
Yay! I’m glad I could help and give you some insight. Another thing (something I just learned) is that you could try changing your font to Comic Sans. I saw it on a post yesterday that Comic Sans can help someone write more and is dyslexia friendly. I don’t know if for the writing aspect it’s a personal thing or if it really does help but I plan on changing my font to Comic Sans and seeing if I write more or get more motivated to write. You could try that too!
And thank you!! The critic of myself comes out with my writing and while I like a number of the things I’ve posted on that blog, I’m also unsure if it’s actually any good so hearing you say that some of them were beautiful really makes me happy! Thank you! :D
I’ve never taken a creative writing class but I really want to sometime. It seems like such fun and not as tiresome as something like science (but I don’t like science so that could be why). I do have a slight fear though that if I ever take that class I’ll be told I’m a terrible writer and should give up all writing but I’m aware that’s an irrational fear, one I sadly can’t shake. But yes! You should pull out your writing from then and read it over. I do that with some of the stories I still have that I started to write and it makes me cringe but I still like reading it over to see the growth of I’ve gone through.
Oof! I completely agree with that. When writing Fanfiction keeping the original characteristics and trying to keep to most of the facts is one of the biggest challenges. It stresses me out when I write minor characters with a major role in a fic because you don’t know a lot about them or a lot about their temperament so even though as a writer I have a lot more freedom, I put more pressure on myself to get it right even though there isn’t much of a right. With original writing, this is a bit easier for me but I have this habit of jumping around in my story so I don’t know if my character relationships seem natural or to speedy. I really need someone to read it over for me and tell me I’m rushing or if it seems too forced.
I don’t write a lot for fandoms anymore. I’m not sure why but it makes me a little sad. I think it’s wonderful that you write for fandoms, even if you don’t share it you’re still stretching your writing wings and keeping your craft/skill fresh.
I completely forgot about instrumental scores!! I’ve only listened to the Prince of Egypt from the ones you’ve mentioned but I’ve listened to the Beauty and the Beast remake instrumental score a bunch of times because I really love it. I’ve never listened to the instrumental version of Night in White Satin but I love the song! I used to listen to it when I was younger! I’m a huge Oldies fan thanks to my dad who always played it for my sister and me.
Jim Reeves and Patty Loveless both have wonderful versions of Silver Bells. Honestly, any version of Silver Bells is amazing! I wasn’t the biggest fan of Silver Bells when I was younger but a few years ago I noticed I was singing it all the time. I kept blending it into another Christmas song but I decided to look up what song I was singing and found out it was Silver Bells and after listening to it I’ve loved it ever since.

It's DS Angel again! :D Don't be sorry, you're good! :D You really do have a talent of writing such stories and even novels! :D That's terrific. Just a quick question, do you have writer's block sometimes and how do you overcome it? :3 Writer's block has been a challenge for me, considering that I write fanfiction about my favorite movies, particularly animated ones. (This is part one of my response because there's so many words I can type in the ask box). ^_^
Okay, like an absolute fool I forgot to link this. And don’t feel bad about writing so much! I’m honored actually that you needed multiple asks (but that might be because I tend to give such long-winded responses so I love long questions/comments/answers even if sometimes I’m not in the reading mood). And thank you! Honestly, writing short stories is such a difficulty for me or little novellas. I mean, I can write something between a few hundred words to maybe 2k but anything longer than that that’s shorter than 75k+ is very hard for me to do. I don’t know how people do it because I need all those words to make it through the whole plot and story.
As for your question about writer’s block (ask me all the questions you want) I get that very often. I’m going to use the first novel I wrote back in 2016. I started it in January and I was doing good, I think I got to about 20k maybe and then I hit a stump before January was done. I still knew what I wanted to write but I hit writer’s block and throughout the following months I think I would occasionally write fanfiction or something else but it wasn’t until November (near the middle of the month) that I finally went back to that story. On December 30 of 2016, I finished that novel at 81k. What I’m trying to say (and I’m not a professional or anything so go ahead and take this with a grain of salt) is that I think writer’s block is natural and everyone gets it. What I try to do now that I have a bit more experience with it and writing is not stress about it so much (easier said than done, I know and still something I work on) but I read somewhere that having an artistic block is a natural and good thing. When we write and create content we’re pumping something out of nothing and it’s like we’re emptying a well of creativity and motivation and inspiration and once we’ve depleted one of those things, we need a break for it to built up again so that we can word vomit some more. It’s frustrating, I agree, but nothing to worry about. But! That’s not to say that you can’t try doing little writing exercises or set a word count and write that amount no matter how much you think it sucks. And, maybe that’ll lead you to keep writing that day until you have more than you thought you would. However, if you’ve been working yourself like crazy to write (like I did in November) then I think writer’s block might also be your body and your mind’s way of telling you to take a small break and chill (what I’m doing now and will do for a few more days).
Wow, that was a very long answer (sorry). Like with regular books I’m kind of weird with fanfiction and have to be in the mood to read fanfiction from a certain fandom and sometimes I’ll stay with a ship or fandom for a day or a few days or a few weeks before bouncing onto another ship or fandom. I’m trying to read less fandom right now though and read more published books but it’s hard to juggle the two. I’m just glad I haven’t added writing to the mix yet because then I get overwhelmed and confused and end up doing neither of the three.
Writing is hard! When I was younger and thought about being a writer I thought it might be a bit easier but it’s not and I’m actually okay with that. I get upset with writing (doing the actual writing can be the worst sometimes) but I’m glad that this is my passion and that I enjoy it even when I’m not. At times I feel like I don’t have a lot of creativity and don’t like my novels because they feel so lacking but that might also be because I’m so close to them and have been looking at them for so long. After all, we are our own worst critics and that is so true. But I think I will try finding some writing prompts online. I used to be terrible at keeping notes/ideas because I thought I needed to write it on paper but within the past few months I’ve started using the memo pad on my phone to jot down notes or ideas or character names (all in a list that I might or might not use) and I’ve even started writing scenes or worked on my stories from my phone. It was weird at first to do that but I’ve gotten used to it. Actually, a note back to the writer’s block thing, also try using a different medium to write. If you’re typing, try using your phone or longhand (on paper) and longhand might suck when you have to type everything up but I’ve found that sometimes that gets my creative juices flowing again.
Do you have any instrumental or orchestral recommendations I can listen too? I’d love to know some of your favorites. OH MY GOODNESS!! SILVER BELLS IS MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS SONG!! Sorry but I’m so happy to find someone else who loves Silver Bells the best. Personally, I can’t decide if I like Dean Martin or Bing Crosby’s version better. Dean has such an amazing voice but so does Bing and he has a female singing on his track with him. Either way, both are amazing! Do you have a favorite version of Silver Bells?
Anyway! Sorry for such a long answer! :P

Hello, I'm your secret angel. :) I have written to you before, but you didn't answer. Unless if Tumblr had some sort of glitch or something. ^^ I don't mean to be a bother or anything. ^^
No! Nononono! You’re no bother at all. It’s partially my fault because I went off tumblr and my laptop in general for a few days and didn’t answer your message till yesterday. You can find it here though! I’m sorry for the confusion!!

DS Angel! :) Yeah, I understand what you mean. I always get overwhelmed with what fonts to use. xD And oh well, you read the books, not me. :) So, I could be wrong about all books being better than movies, but that’s my opinion. And I didn’t know there was to be a Narnia series from Netflix! D: That’s cool! :) Hey, don’t worry about it! Rant all you want, just like what I do. I want to wish you a Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!
Kind of late but Happy Christmas/Happy Holidays right back at you!! I hope you had a great day!
You’re not wrong, most books usually are better than the movies but then you have those movies that aren’t necessarily better or worse than the books, just different and as amazing even though it’s missing things from the books. I’m thinking of Love, Simon really. I loved the book and was scared about the movie but ended up loving the movie even with the differences.
I haven’t heard too much on Netflix’s Narnia but I did hear that they are planning on making a series and I’m so excited about it because I loved the movies and now the books and really want to see the books continued. That was something that made me sad about the movies, they never finished.
