Adaptation Idea - The Lay of Leithian as a Disney animated musical
Think about it.
You’ve got your awesome female protagonist with magic powers who runs away from her controlling family to save her true love.
You’ve got an immensely powerful force of evil for her to fight against.
You’ve got your pair of secondary villains who want to kill her True Love and force her into marriage.
You’ve got a secondary protagonist who dies heroically and tragically and is sure to be a major hit with the audience.
You’ve got scary wolves.
You’ve got a talking animal who becomes the hero and heronie’s trusted companion.
And you’ve got pre-existing songs that are not only fantastic, but a crucial part of the plot.
This is somewhat tongue-in-cheek - but it really does make sense that it fits. so well. Disney adapts fairy tales, and this is Tolkien’s central fairy tale of the First Age.
#the silmarillion#beren and luthien#beren#lúthien#humour#finrod#celegorm#curufin#the worst thing about this is that people would say it was a ripoff of tangled and the little mermaid#don’t make a sequel#in the sequel the secondary villains return and kill the heroine’s son#not very disney#adaptation

Good morning/afternoon/evening... I saw that you talk about "Star Wars" and you are a big fan of this franchise. I never watched any of the movie and never attracted me enough to watch it though -surprisingly- I LOVE SI-FI. I literally don't know any person who watch or a fan of this franchise. Not in my family -brothers and sisters- or friends not even classmates. I am in the generation that didn't watch this moives, (you know before Disney start bought it). Part 1
Hello beautiful!
Well, first things first, when people talk about Star Wars, they usually think of it as sci-fi. And they expect something of it it’s never going to deliver. Star Wars is fantasy not science fiction. It’s a space opera. It’s, at the heart of it, past the stars and the war and the rest of it, a story where love conquers all.
People who talk shit about Star Wars are generally try hard fanboys or people who think there’s no place for romance or love or the good being just as complicated as the evil in their Star Wars with fake woke expectations of how redemption works.
Because that’s what it’s about. So know that going in, it’s about redemption and love. Defeating the bad guy is never as important as the compassion the characters are capable of. It’s the Hero’s Journey (Heronie’s Journey with the newer movies) and everything that those things entail. It’s fate and prophecy and how failure is always the best teacher and the hubris of being a legend can be your downfall.
How love is a savior and jailer. If you go in thinking it’s going to be a Marvel movie, you’re going to be disappointed. There are no layers to villains in sci-fi most often. Star Wars wants to tell you a story and it wants you know that black and white is often never a solution when gray is the reality of the world.
This isn’t aliens attacking and The Good Guys being the victors. There’s more layers to it than that. It’s a good time, for sure in my opinion, but if you’re expecting surface level entertainment, you’re going to be let down.
I mean, yeah, Princess Leia was my first princess. I have a lot of nostalgia tied up into it and it’s got a special place in my heart that comes from my childhood but Star Wars is also one of those things I think can be enjoyed for the first time at any age. If you don’t like it, you don’t like it and that’s fine. But it’s not a shoot ‘em up, pew-pew, put all the women in the fridge because penises rule style of mega movie, you know? It’s better than that.
And if nothing else, there’s cool as fuck stunts like this-
Besos!
