God is hitting me hard with truth lately, y'all. . Something I have struggled with when trying to figure out what God is asking of me or is calling me to do at a given point is timing. I'll hear Him, then ask, "Are you sure, Lord?" Or "Right now, Lord?" Or better yet, He'll tell me something and I'll say, "Yeah, but when is that going to happen?" 😂 . Y'all, timing is everything! I have found myself delaying in acting according to what I've heard for a few reasons: fear of failure, wanting others' approval/worrying I'll lose it, or being unsure of myself/unconfident in my abilities. I drag my feet in responding, asking for a sign or even for God to just do it without me. I don't want to risk it. I don't want to be uncomfortable. Or at least, I didn't. . Y'all, praise God for change! Praise Him for wisdom! Praise Him for patience when dealing with stubborn children like myself 😂 . My prayer is that I will no longer delay when I hear instruction, but to act immediately and trust that God will provide a "ram in a bush" (Genesis 22:9-13) as He did for Abraham when necessary. I pray for obedience like Abraham to act in the face of terrifying and uncertain circumstances. I pray that I may one day even have the courage to have the kind of faith and obedience of not only Abraham but of Jesus, who was obedient, even to the point of death (Philippians 2:8). . . . . #DiscerningTheVoiceOfGod #BibleStudy #Faith # Jesus #Abraham #Obedience

I recently promised myself I would wake up early and get some #alonetimewithGod. The need and desire has been there, just not the determination. Today, I was up at 6 and have #finally begun reading #discerningthevoiceofGod by @priscillashirer. My mother and I were talking one day about how we both needed to learn to #hearHimmore. So I gave her my copy (as yet unopened 🤷‍♀️🙀) and ordered myself a new one. We plan on reading through it and then getting together and discussing as we go.
