gale weathers had a penchant for finding her way around road blocks. when the reporters were all shooed away from the entrance of the movie premiere, she had managed to sneak around the back of the building in wait. it wasn’t the acting cast she was there for that time but rather the real brain behind the project. gale didn’t think there was anything special about the movie in itself despite all the talk on the internet about it. rumours about it being haunted. she couldn’t have rolled her eyes harder, classic horror movie marketing. but she did think there was much to be said about the director.

the dark alleyway was suddenly flooded with light as the back door swung open. it took a second for gale’s squinted eyes to adjust but when they did, her whole face lit up. there they were, faye ito. “ faye ! ” she called out to catch her attention. there was no point hiding anymore. gale had no intention of ambushing @hauntfilm and part of that was merely because the alleyway only had one exit where gale and her crew conveniently stood planted. she waved at her like an old friend, beaming from ear to ear. with a few quick strides she closed the space between them and immediately shoved the mic in their direction.

“ tell us, how does it feel to see your work on the big screen ? ” a practiced grin was plastered across the reporters face but it didn’t reach her eyes. she wasn’t here for the easy stuff, she never was. but she waited a beat before asking what the audience really wanted to know. “ does any part of the movie, a woman’s descent into madness, come from your personal experience with the death of matthieu rosseau ? ”

I wanted to post this after posting Jimmy's as I feel I may be returning to this character even if it is a handful of times.

It's about Jimmy's dad (⁠ ⁠´⁠◡⁠‿⁠ゝ⁠◡⁠`⁠)

Name: Benjiro Yoshinaga

Night City construction: 1994

Ben was born in Japan 1995.

Jimmy's mother (Tora) was born in Night City 2015 to a Yakuza family.

Ben became interested in braindance technology. He sought education for media entertainment branching towards braindance entertainment.

Whilst studying, he did an internship via an international programme with Diverse Media Systems (DMS), where he honed his braindance editing skills. Being quite the talent after graduation , he landed a job at DMS at the age of 21.

After ten years of working with DMS, he left the company in search of a more independent company to work for. He ended up moving to Japantown in Night City where he picked up work at a video store to chill for a period of time.

Whilst working in the video store, he did a few edits for BDs that were sold and became wildly popular in Cherry Blossom Memories (a braindance arcade).

Due to his popular BDs,he's been tasked to create more BDs for Cherry Blossom

For about a couple years he continues to edit BDs, eventually being approached by Yakuza members and Corpos to produce custom edits. At first the BDs were innocent, until they started requesting more explicit edits.

He eventually gets a regular customer (Tyger's Claw member), requesting all sorts of edits, but a special edit made for his daughter as a birthday gift. She loved it so much, she wanted to meet the director. This is when they first met.

With her own fascination of braindances in general, Tora frequently visited him to learn about editing and even talk about the braindances they have watched. Over time, they grew closer as mentor/mentee relationship. Thru her, Benjiro developed a good relationship Tyger's Claw.

Three years pass and he is a well established BD editor in Japantown and parts of Night City, most of his income coming from custom edits. He had a larger apartment, however, his studio was based in the video store. One day, he's working in the studio when Tora enters a little out of character. This is when he learned she started taking narcotics, however, she begged him to not tell her father. He decided to keep her secret. He didn't want to get involved.

Tora developed a crush on him because he kept her secret.

A year passed, the secret is still kept, despite him being good friends with her father. During a moment of editing, she leaned in and kissed him on the lips. He looked at her astonished and confused, and rejected her advance. However, she continued to pursue.

Around 17, she spiked his drink and took provocative photos of the two of them. When she approached him again and he rejected her, she threatened blackmail by showing the photos to him. Much to his dismay, and not wanting to be a target by the Tyger's Claw, he agreed to be in a relationship with her. Their relationship eventually became physical a year and a. bit later thanks to his compromise.

As the relationship continued, he eventually developed feelings for her.

Their relationship was eventually (and inevitably lol) discovered by Tora's father. Tho he considered him to be a friend, he did not approve of their relationship. He threatened him if he didn't end the relationship. Benjiro informed Tora of this to which she confronted her father. The relationship continued.

Her father and a few Tyger's Claw members ambushed him, warning him to keep away from her or else.

Tora confronted her father again. Getting fed up of this nonsense, her father and a few TC members pay Ben a visit, only to find Tora in his arms and holding a gun to her head. They decided to force Ben to work for TC and stripped him of most of his money. With the rampant human trafficking for the ever growing braindance market, Benjiro's forced to edit the new product in the black market: XBDs. From this point onwards, he remains to be in a relationship with Tora.

Today is an ordinary day, at least for Gusion. He is mastering swinging his daggers and striking the dummies in the training room with them.

The Paxley clan is full of mages, and they aren't pleased with his wielding daggers. But he is unconcerned about the number of criticisms he receives from his relatives.

He likes the daggers and he will continue using them even if he gets kicked out of the clan. Sweat glistened from his temples. He sat on the ground, catching his breath and brushing his perspiration away with his right hand.

"These daggers are getting run-of-the-mill. Possibly I ought to purchase a new and sharper set," he said quietly as he lifted his left hand, which was holding one of the blades.

He changed his attire and slipped on a coat so no one would identify him. He cautiously makes his way to the city's market, ensuring he isn't being followed or ambushed. After all, it's conceivable that someone might suddenly attack him since he's a Paxley. The clan has myriad adversaries that will go to any length to see the clan collapse.

He walked inside a particular weapons store. This is where he normally gets his weapons, and he strongly recommends it to novices because the proprietor of this store is a fantastic weapon inventor as well as an excellent weapon wielder. When he was younger, he would request him to instruct him how to use the blades.

This store is one of the most well-known in the Land of Dawn. The shop's director is also well-known since he developed several apparatuses that have aided many people in making their lives better.

He opened the front door and gingerly removed his hood before approaching the shop's owner, Caleb.

"Hey, Mister Paxley. It's nice to see you again. Need a new set of daggers?" Caleb asked amusingly. Gusion just nodded in response.

"Come on, I'll show you some examples," he said. Gusion followed the man as they moved farther inside the store. They came to a halt in a well-known hallway. When he looked up, he recognized the usual board on top. "Daggers". This is the section for dagger-wielders.

"This is our most recently created new dagger; it may easily attract people and they may take advantage of you, therefore I don't think this matches you," Caleb stated as he showed him the dagger.

The dagger is gold-painted and shines like the stars. It's lovely, but it's not his style. He favors the more uncanny-looking dagger.

"Let's go on to the next one. This is one of the best-selling daggers here, and the specialty of this is that if you land a dagger in a bush, you can detect a hidden opponent," Caleb stated, touching the dagger's edge.

This time, the dagger is lacquered with silver. He loves the peculiarity of this and how it can forecast an ambush, so he believes he'll purchase it. This can also benefit him in a battle.

"That'll do," he said. Caleb laughed heartily. "Good decision, Paxley," he said as they returned to the entryway, and a woman wearing a coat with a hood caught his interest.

"Ah! Glad to see you again, Miss L/N. Looking for a new sword?" Gusion was taken aback when he said her surname. L/N? The clan that is filled with assassins? I have to be vigilant around her.

Y/N, who was peering out the window, looked at both of them with unfriendly eyes. "I need some fresh shurikens," she replied. Her gaze remained fixed on Gusion, who appeared to be about to wet himself. Despite wearing a hood, she appears austere, and Gusion couldn't see her complete face. She just gives him strange sensations and he isn't fully aware that she could be that arcane.

After all, Gusion isn't very good at staring competitions. As much as he enjoys the limelight, this woman just gives him the wrong impression. She seems like she's about to murder him! And that hood is preventing her from seeing him her whole face. Gusion understands why she's being cautious with her surroundings.

"Here are your new daggers, Mister Paxley; thank you for purchasing them; the total is 2,000 coins," Caleb's unexpected voice shattered the two's tension. Gusion reached into his pocket for his wallet and paid the man. He received the money with a cheeky smile. Gusion can still feel a pair of (E/C) staring menacingly at him.

Caleb had already handed him the packet containing the daggers, but he remained motionless for some reason. He couldn't figure out why his feet weren't moving so he could flee the place.

"I'm not planning to kill you, little Paxley; don't cream your pants," she murmured as she passed by him. Gusion was dumbfounded, and he had no idea that they had both drifted away from the area. [Lol, Steve Harrington reference]

After the strange incident earlier, he returned home when the sun is already setting down since he trained a bit with his new daggers in the forest. He was welcomed by Aamon, who was conversing with two individuals. They appear to be in their mid-40s. The three of them were looking at him.

"Oh, is that Gusion? He's so grown up now," the lady added, smiling. He merely smiled awkwardly, not knowing what to do.

After witnessing his smile, Aamon only arched his brows. The man who appears to be the lady's husband adjusted his spectacles. "I wonder whether you're as powerful as your brother, Gusion," he said.

He was annoyed that he was being compared to his older sibling. Being compared to anybody is what he loathes the most. It frequently makes him unpleasant.

"He's strong in his own manner, Sir L/N," Aamon said. He is fully aware that Gusion detest being compared to anyone. Gusion was grateful for Aamon's words, but then Gusion remembered Aamon's said name.

Sir L/N? Is he the father of the strange girl I met earlier? That is a possibility.

Despite the fact that the L/N clan is full of assassins, they're well renowned for their exceptionally outstanding abilities and are one of the most respected assassins in the Land of Dawn. They are not evil individuals who kill only those they choose to kill.

That's all they care about. Justice. People who died in vain deserve justice. And they vowed to exterminate every last member of the abyss.

"I apologize for being late," a familiar feminine voice interrupted his stream of thought. He looked behind him and noticed a lady. He didn't identify them at first, but he did after hearing the voice and seeing her eyes.

"Y/N! We apologize for her late arrival, Aamon," the lady said as she led her to a seat between them on the couch. Gusion simply rested against the walls, contemplating the girl's appearance.

Good-looking face, plump pinkish lips, attracting (E/C) eyes. Wait, why am I even observing her?

He shook his head to clear his mind of stuff he shouldn't be thinking about and spotted the girl looking at him with her soulless gaze. She cocked her brow before breaking eye contact. Gusion was irritated, but he chose to dismiss it.

Finally, the tedious meeting came to an end. He nearly fell asleep, which is extremely humiliating. He doesn't want to be chastised by his brother and have his reputation tarnished in the eyes of the prestigious family. "We're going to talk private issues; you may leave now, Gusion," Aamon replied, his eyes rolling. Private matters, my ass.

He decided to walk to the balcony to kill time and refresh his head. The breeze ruffled his hair causing it to get messy as he stepped onto the balcony. He's fortunate he's still donning his coat since despite wearing it, he still feels frigid.

"Boo," he practically shrieked at hearing the abrupt voice, but Y/N covered his lips, avoiding him from yelling. She took her hand away when she sensed he was no longer agitated.

"You nearly killed me!" he yelled quietly, still bewildered. Y/N merely shrugged, not intending to say anything. Before continuing, he took several deep breaths.

"Why are you even here? Are you stalking me?" he asked the girl, mystified as to why she was there.

"So, what if I am?" Her remark caught him off guard and left him speechless. His cheeks flushed, and he attempted to turn away so she wouldn't see, but it didn't work.

"I'm just kidding. Don't get your hopes up," she added, leaving Gusion a little dismayed. "I wasn't going to..." He whispered, expecting Y/N to answer, but she didn't. He turned at the girl, puzzled as to why she hadn't responded, but she was looking at the dazzling stars.

He looked into her (E/C) eyes for the first time and noticed a spark in them. His pupils dilated but remained quiet.

"Do you like stars?" he said suddenly. She blinked many times before glancing at him and responding. The light in her eyes faded in an instant, which shocked him.

"I like them; they're fantastic in my perspective," she said, returning her gaze to the lovely stars shimmering in the sky.

"I had no idea an assassin like you was interested in stars or planets," he said. Her gaze was drawn to Gusion's bright blue eyes.

"Why do you think I'm just interested in slaughter, blood, knives, and justice?" she said, her brow furrowed and her arms crossed. He shook his head instantly, not wanting to face the grim reaper too soon.

"To be honest, I'd like to be an astrophysicist, but my parents forbid me from doing so or studying stars, planets, and other celestial bodies. When my mother found out, she removed all the windows in my room and forbade me from glancing at the sky, and I'm verboten from going out at night. I was just fortunate earlier that they didn't scold me because Sir Aamon was there. But I'm dead-"

She instantly came to a halt, linked her lips, and turned away. Gusion was baffled. What occurred just now? "I'm sorry, I overshared," she murmured, unwilling to look him in the eyes. What shocked her the most was sensing a hand on her right shoulder.

Her eyes widened and she glanced at the man, puzzled as to why he did that. His blue gleaming eyes gave her an odd sensation. "I'm glad you told me that," he said, catching her off guard.

"Thank you for opening up, Y/N. It's astounding to me that someone as strong as you is interested in becoming an astrophysicist; even if we're not friends or anything, I'll encourage you until the conclusion," he continued, and butterflies began to flutter in her stomach. Y/N felt a scorching feeling in her face, which she quickly covered with the back of her hand and redirected her focus elsewhere.

After Bonnie and Clyde's demise, a roll of unprocessed film was found in their hideout. I think this is one shot of many publicized. The film was released in 1967 to small segments of the country b/c Jack Warner and others disliked it as well as Warren Beatty very much ... too many memories. His intent was to then bury it.

Fun Fact: Barb has a friend whose Grandma was in a nearby grade school when Bonne and Clyde were ambushed. All the kids were allowed to run down to the scene and take a look. Grandma took one of Bonnie's shoes back to the classroom but the teacher made her return it to the scene.

Unexpectedly, the film did very well in those small markets and in 1968 was released nationally and internationally, becoming Warner Brothers' 2d grossing picture at the time, just behind My Fair Lady. In a UW film class, we learned that Bonnie and Clyde appealed to the anti-authoritarian sentiment growing in the US because of the Vietnam War. Our class had 72 students including myself, the oldest, and I was the only person to have seen this movie in the theater in 1968 on its release. The Prof would single me out in class and ask me about those times in Madison and what I thought of the film, etc. It had been nearly 50 years since the film so many students probably thought "how did this old fart get in here?" 🙂 Actually, it unlocked a whole stream of consciousness and I told them "lots" becoming the goto guy for "you were there" recollection of Bonnie and Clyde and later Psycho (nobody knew that Ed Gein lived just 60 miles up the road from Madison, nobody had really heard of Ed Gein, or that he had died at Mendota State Hospital in Madison, etc. And also The Birds (1963) which my friends and I thought was an allegory for the coming Nuclear Armageddon... fame and fortune and status or where and when would not save anyone from the birds, and we made the tiny jump that the birds were stand-ins for the Soviet Missiles.

Did you know most films today are directed at 26 year old males? that the scene length has dropped to 5 seconds or less? that Bonnie and Clyde and movies of that era had scene lengths of 15 seconds or more? how deep can a thought be if you have less than 5 seconds to express it?

I loved my Film Classes and Comm Arts at the UW. Sometimes a current Hollywood Director would come and talk about their recent film and take questions from the students. I was surprised how many students from the UW have found good jobs in Hollywood.

Bonnie and Clyde reinvigorated Blue Grass Music. "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" by Flatt and Scruggs, the instrumental banjo piece, was introduced to a worldwide audience as a result of its frequent use in the movie.

I was reeling from a cancer diagnosis that was poised to bankrupt my family. Slappy took me on a ride along, and showed me just how many jellybeans even a small dip operation could make. And I was weak. I didn't want my family to go into financial ruin so I agreed. Every day, I think back at that moment with regret. I quickly realized that I was in way over my head, and Slappy had a partner, a Cog named the Director of Ambush Marketing, a businessman. Slappy essentially sold me into servitude to this Cog, and when I tried to quit, the Director threatened my family. I didn't know where to turn. Eventually, Slappy and the Director had a falling out. From what I can gather, Slappy was always pushing for a greater share of the business, to which the Director flatly refused to give him, and things escalated. The Director was able to arrange, uh I guess I guess you call it a "green" on my political opponent, and failed, but Slappy was seriously injured, and I wound up paying his medical bills which amounted to a little over 177,000 jellybeans. Upon recovery, Slappy was bent on revenge, working with a Cog named Yesman, he plotted to kill the Director, and did so. In fact, the wedding cake that he used was baked by me, and he gave me no option in it. I have often contemplated suicide by dip, but I'm a coward. I wanted to go to the police, but I was frightened. Slappy had risen in the ranks to become the head of the Toon Council, and about that time, to keep me in line, he took my children from me. For 3 months he kept them. My wife, who up until that point, had no idea of my criminal activities, was horrified to learn what I had done, why Slappy had taken our children. We were scared. I was in Hell, I hated myself for what I had brought upon my family. Recently, I tried once again to quit, to end this nightmare, and in response, he gave me this. I can't take this anymore. I live in fear every day that Slappy will kill me, or worse, hurt my family. I... All I could think to do was to make this video in hope that the world will finally see this Toon, for what he really is.

The problem is, the Empowered world isn't so accepting of Reika and the poor woman has no idea why...

Dislikes: Her ex-boyfriend, alcohol, cold weather, spicy food, Deathwalkers and Vampires., adapting to the Empowered world after she realised what she was before.

Ika's story was a normal, happy one right until a tragedy occur and claim her life. She had kind and supporting parents, a few but dearly loved friends and a career that she enjoyed.

A man brought romance, happiness and a baby into her life soon after. Everything was pleasant until his true colours revealed themselves. Irrational jealousy, excessive drinking leads to physical aggression.

Everything came to a point where Ika fears for her and Neomi life that she decided to sneak her baby out of their shared home and to her parent's. Thinking that she's cheating on him, her ex ambushed her while she was on her way back to her parents' late at night and murdered her.

Her corpse is hidden in a forest bed and afterwards, the man fled to another state. Rika was declared missing after investigations went cold for about 5 months. Her family and friends mourned for their loss.

A violent death by the one who's meant to be her lover and the fear of her baby's safety made Ika crawl out of the River and back into the living world with unholy hatred. During her first year as a Shade, Ika is feral-like and unable to think. She indiscriminately consumes life force bit by bit from anyone she comes across.

Ika starts to regain some sort of self-awareness and flashes of memories in her second year. She ate enough life force to search out for her ex and brutally kills him and his life force finally revives her.

She 'wakes' up as a fully healed human in the basement. Ika has no memories of her death or her time as a Shade, so this naturally freaks her out. When authorities found her, they declare that she was imprisoned by her ex while the man died of a heart attack.

Returning back to normality was a struggle and a half. Ika missed so many of her baby's first times and it takes getting used to being around her parents again. But being surrounded by loved ones again helped pulled her through.

So! A new life (even if it's under ignorance), a new career and a happy, healthy daughter growing every day, Ika would've remained blissfully unaware of the Empowered world if she didn't come across Morgan.

A year into their friendship and after Morgan introduced Ika to the Empowered world, he admits that he at first is intrigued with her because he can't see her future.

The more Morgan introduced Ika to the Empowered world, the longer he notices how various Magical creatures flinch away from her.

Thus begin their investigative story!

Headcanons about Shades-Turned-Humans

(I'm just going to be focusing on Unempowered humans since that's what Erika originally was before her death.)

Shades that were previously humans will become Magically Passive towards death once they're fully revived. They're able to sense who's near death's door (be it of old age, unknown diseases or even a freak accident) and could connect to the River and Deathwalkers.

To Empowered creatures, they can sense how uncanny and unnatural a Shade-Turned Human is. They'd feel uncomfortable and tense around the human after a while.

To Vampires, they reek of rotting corpses and their blood is stale.

To Seers, they cannot see these humans' future as Elegy considered them dead.

To Deathwalkers who oversee the river between life and death, see these humans are creatures that needed to be brought back to the River.

A Shade-Turned-Human is not invincible or an immortal.

Shades will ignore these humans as they deem they're dead.
