Back on my binge-watching Dinotrux arc.

(Rambles under the cut)

Revit and Skrapit are my favourite, I love any episodes where they interact. Also I admire Revit and Ty’s friendship, like, to an extent I feel it in my soul, which doesn’t happen often. Completely different, yet completely devoted to eachother, always got eachothers backs, ty the huge t-trux who’d do anything for the tiny lil guy, and the tiny lil guy willing to save and fix his humongous buddy. Great dynamic.

Also when I was younger, the first time I saw dinotrux, I seemed to think Revit and click-clack were siblings, and Ace and Waldo were their parents. No longer think ace and Waldo are their parents but I’ll maintain Revit and click-clack being brothers.

(Gawdamnit the tools are the best characters. Also justice for skrap-it, he needs appreciation)

Also ton-ton and Dozer ship, maybe Skya in there too

My brain really wants to ship Revit and Skrap-it, and I’m clutching at straws here honestly, but imagine them on shopping trips together in scraptor valley. They’d at least make good friends if they were on the same side.

Also gotta love the huge lack of romance in the main plot. Actually a good show that isn’t entirely supported off of ships and such, that’s just left for the fans to headcanon. And Skya is honestly probably the best written female character I’ve ever seen. Like, probably one of few female characters I actually like. No ‘ooo I’m a strong independent woman’ arcs, just a normal well rounded character.

Revvit and Xee crushing for each other

Click-Clack is so me rn.

I don't know, Imagine Revvit and Xee in a relationship is kinda weird. Both are too equal, everybody knows it doens't work lol(I call Xee of female Revvit lmao).

I like the Idea Revvit only crushes on Xee(fast love "easy come, easy goes") but not truly love her.

And btw feels forced

Xee feels like a Not-gay character ngl.

Also they made specific choices with the ai's for each truck, at the core of each race is a similar trait so common other truck types use them as stereotypes. Like the reptools all at first being skittish- and staying out of the way of bigger trucks- were the feral scrap lines prototypes leaning more into the dinosaur theme, or a way to insure there's always something able to dismantle the others?

It's possible that maybe the feral scrap machines were made to counter the ever-growing human intelligence of the dinotrux. Their ai couldn't have been THIS advanced and human-like from day one. It's possible that the reason the scraptors and so on are drawn to attacking trucks for scraps rather than just finding leftover scraps is because they were created to seek and destroy dinotrux that were getting too out of hand. Because once your creations start to fully develop their own personalities and think critically without assistance or handles whatsoever, it starts to get concerning, and when the creations can laugh and play and comprehend emotions and things like fun, then you're hit with the issue of the fact that they are now on the same mental playing field as a person, but with their abilities still in tact. Something like D-Structs would scare people out of their minds enough to create entire lines of machines dedicated to hunting and ripping them apart.

Okay so 😭 I promise I haven’t forgotten the tools but the most recent art I have of all of them is from like 2021?

They are SEVERELY in need of an update and since I’ve been slowly getting back into Dinotrux there might be more to come? Idk yet 😭

✨Dinotrux headcannons✨

Dozer and George are all related in some way; they are uncles and nephews. The thing is, George was excommunicated from Dozer's heard when Dozer was very young, so he doesn't have a lot of memory of George, but he does remember him as being very kind to Dozer and teaching him how to create mounds and jackhammers.

Ty is actually older than D-structs, but not older than D-stroy. I have a small head can in that they are 4 to 9 years apart, so in my AU they are 4 years apart, and Ty would be 21 or 22 or 23.

D-structs was once kicked out of a crater by his brother, and when he found a new one, there was already a T-Trux. They nearly scrapped D-structs, but thankfully he was able to escape, so that's why he was so resistant to Ty.

Ton-Ton has nightmares often, and he often goes to Ty to comfort him. This is semi-canon because of the one episode in the earlier seasons of Ty saying, "I don't care how bad your nightmare was; I'm not talking you back in."

After the Tortools came into Dozer's life, he started to act more like a parent to everyone. Yeah, this was pure torture to the others since whenever they would put themselves in dangerous situations, they wouldn't only have the tools lecturing them but also a very angry Dozer, especially Ton-Ton.

Dozer In my human, Au runs out of coffee since he is a daycare attendant, and he often has to come in early to prepare meals and stay late cleaning up paint.

Going on with my human, Au Dozer has had a crush on everyone at least once throughout his life. He has known Tonton since he was really young, so during his teen years, he had a crush on Tonton, and he had met Skya when he was in his late teens, and he had developed a crush on her. He had denied all of his crushes, though he refused to accept them, so yeah, drama.

Dozer has never been in a relationship.

Ok, so I feel like I need to talk about that, so...

The names for the dinotrux are on average different.

Dozer, Skya, Waldo, Click-Clack, Ton-Ton and D-Structs all have the same name.

Now, for the translations.

Ty Rux become Tim Rex, I love that they translated the pun to make it work in french too.

Revvit becomes Zoutils, which is basically Z+Tools. (Outils=Tools)

Ace becomes Cléa, so basically they made a pun, I guess, with her name. Like her name in French is basically: Wrench+a. (Key+a if you really want to go on the specific)

Garby becomes Débrice. I have no idea why. Maybe cuz trying to say Garby in a french accent would sound horrid.

Skrap-it becomes Férrouille. They pretty much just took the word Skrap, translated it and made that his name.

All the other names are pronounced with a french accent.

So to give an example:

Dozer's name is sorta pronounced: Dozair. (Emphasize on the r at the end)

Hiiiii back again with another Dinotrux: New Dawn character!! This time we got Adelynn ❤️

She's Revvit and Xee's daughter. This is her current (and probably permanent) design.

Age: 14 - 15

Species: Rotillian - Ratchet reptool hybrid (mostly Rotillian)

Gender: Female

Parents: Revvit (father) Xee (mother)

Home: The Flatirons

Ambilities & powers: Spinning ratchet tail, high intelligence, sharp claws, very flexible, fast, can climb trees, ride scraptors and make her own weapons.

Personality: Adelynn is energetic and loves to climb trees. She spends most of her time outside, catching screwscitos and bits, climbing trees and rocks and talking to Dinotrux. Revvit didnt really know how to deal with Adelynn's enthousiasm and energy when she was younger, but Xee taught her all kinds of things about the outside world and the forest. Adelynn likes to hang around with the young trux and joyride with Fireball amd Chase. She knows a lot about Dinotrux thanks to her dad. Adelynn likes to repair and be busy, she is quickly bored when she's alone. She likes reading and knitting from time to time. Revvit likes it when Adelynn is in his sight, he doesnt really like the idea of her going to the forest alone.

Relationships

Ty

Adelynn is very comfortable around Ty. She hatched in Ty's cave and sleeps there, just like her parents. Ty has the urge to parent Adelynn sometimes, like telling her no if she doesnt listen to her parents. Adelynn deeply respects Ty and has never yelled at him or told his that he isnt her dad (she wasnt raised like that + Ty is the alpha of the Flatirons, so what he says goes anyways) Adelynn has asked Ty multiple times if she can go to Scraptor Vally with him, but Ty wont do it cuz he thinks its dangerous.

Skya

Skya is kind of like a "cool aunt" for Adelynn - but Adelynn calls everyone by name, except her parents. Adelynn loves to ride with Skya, especially since Skya is one of the few trux that isnt always like "no, you are tiny, you have to be safe." Adelynn loves to sit on Skya's head and then get back on the ground using Skya's hook. Skya likes Adelynns adventurous personality. They appreciate each other a lot.

Dozer

Dozer and Adelynn don't have a lot of interaction. Adelynn sometimes goes with Dozer on his Crater Guard work shift to hang out with the Dozeratops herd or check the bridge for any damage.

Ton Ton

Adelynn joyrides with Ton Ton and she loves to be around him because of how alike they are. Ton Ton has babysat Adelynn when she was still very young, even then he would take her over small ramps. Adelynn appreciates Ton Ton and his family a lot. She loves to watch the Ankylodump herds that migrate through the crater every year rampjump and race. Just like Ton Ton and Fireball, but unlike her dad, Adelynn enjoys Rollodon season and rides with them on Ton Ton or Fireball, constantly screaming out the word "ROLLL!" for joke. When she and Fireball were still very young, they would yell the word "ROLLL!" over and over to each other as if it was a secret language and Ton Ton would sometimes join in. To this day, its still an inside joke between the three of them.

D Structs

Adelynn and D Structs are not that close. Unlike Ty, D Structs is comfortable parenting the kids around whenever thats necesarry, including the young tools. Adelynn hates to be bossed around, and when she was young she found it kind of annoying if D Structs parented her, but now she's used to it. She likes to watch whenever D Structs gets in a fight (wich is quite frequent, actually) and after that she can rave for a long time about how cool that was.

Relationship with her parents

Adelynn and her parents are very close. Xee has taught Adelynn about nature and the outside world, even how to ride scraptors. Xee likes to sing for Adelynn in the evening - Adelynn loves her moms singing voice. Xee mostly sings her a self written lullaby and Adelynn sometimes sings or hums along with her mom. Xee rarely sings in front of the group, she would rather do it for just Adelynn, Revvit and Ty (they are always encouraging and complimenting her singing) Xee and Adelynn love each other a lot go outside with each other, into the forest to go for parts runs or Dinotrux spotting.

Xee has taught Adelynn about nature and how to take care of herself and Revvit has taught her a lot about fixing and Dinotrux engines, systems and parts. Also a lot about Dinotrux herds, migrations and behaivor. Adelynn is faschinated over it and sometimes sees her dad observe the Dozeratops herd that permanently lives in the crater. Their alpha, Bones, knows Adelynn and her parents and he somstimes asks them what they have been up to (but Revvit is a lil scared of Bones lolol)

A sassy, pretty short tempered and jaded T-Trux who comes off as pretty intimidating at first glance but once you get to know him, he is surprisingly nice and kinda fun to hang around with!

Reason why he gives off a terrible first impression ais is not because he doesn't want to communicate but because every trux and tools in the valley he tries to talk with either immediately runs away from him or engage in battle, thinking he's a threat because of the whole, why? Simple: "T-Trux are bad and thinks they can do whatever they want cus they rule the place"

Because of this, he became kind of introverted and doesn't know how to communicate properly so whenever a trux/tool is actually talking with him, he just nods along and just doesn't know how to respond once they're finished talking (he's literally me)

However, despite the fact almost everybody are scared or hates him, that doesn't stop him from protecting them from any danger. Because to him, that's what T-Truxs supposed to do.

It's not you being automatically it's owner and therefore you can hurt and steal those around you just for the sake of entertainment, no.. it's protecting those from danger and doing absolutely anything just to make them safe, even if they hate you because of your kind...

Interestingly, he never always had the mindset of protecting trux/tools before, in fact, he has hurt a lot of trux and tools from the past, he never did because it was "fun" but it was because to him, he saw it as a form of survival and also because that's what his parents taught him:

He was told T-Truxs are the most superior species and therefore they should be respected and feared by all, and in order to earn respect, they have to be feared by violence and ruthlessness and if anyone dares to challenge them...they will suffer the consequences...but he never questioned his parents..

And now the question is, what changed his mind? That, will be a story for next time ;)

I've always wanted to talk about this so I think now would be a good time to do it so... let's talk about Biology! (not really) I'm not super expert in biology so don't totally listen to me, I'm just looking to share my ideas.

Ok first something simple that I have always wanted to mention, Dinotrux are not just "robots" they are bio-mechanical creatures, there are many points that prove this, mainly because they have the ability to breathe, smell, feel and that kind of thing, they can vomit and get dizzy, and above all, they are born from eggs, they are born very small, then they grow up and are much bigger, that is, they basically have something similar to our DNA, only they use it to create metal, cables, hoses etc, I think one of the writers of the series had mentioned this on Twitter, I'm not sure.

Second, I hardly see anyone talking about the "sub-species" or "sister-species" that exist, genetics play a big role here, for example Reptools, which have several "sub-species", Revvit, Waldo, Ace and Xee, are Reptools, but they look different from each other, the point here is that for example, one might wonder why Ty and Rexxie don't look the same as D-structs and D-stroy, but considering this it's easy to understand , all four are T-trux, but maybe from different "Sub-species", for example we could also take Blayde, who doesn't look like Dozer or the other dozeratops, so I think this could be an explanation for this, there are also Scraptors and Scrapadactyls that in several episodes appear different "variants" of these, since, like animals, they adapt to their environment, evolved according to where they live, this could explain why some Dinotrux and tools are not the same, more than that there are also some Dinotrux with a difference in gender, that this is only due to genetics.

I agree somewhat. I think it would deffinetly change the whole vibe of the show if they had humans and animals that aren't mechanical. Especially since tools and screw based bugs exist. it would seem weird to then also have organic animals as well. But maybe it could work if they changed... everything. like they changed the show from the ground up to make it work. idk, I may not like it, but I'm trying to look at it objectiv and I do think that you could make a show like that, it just wouldn't be at all like the old dinotrux.

just imagine how different the show would be if humans were a thing in dinotrux. like, what would their relationship be with the trux? would they fight them? probably. maybe some would get on board with Ty. Some might try to capture them and use them for combat or transport orm since they are construction vehicles, to build or destroy. They also probably wouldn't understand each others language. I've seen some fans wishing they added humans to the show. Personally, I like that it focuses more on the trux. idk, I just care more for the trux tbh.

                                      Ty Rux

It was a rainy and stormy night, and Ty couldn't sleep no matter how hard he tried. He had tried everything other than going to drive since he didn't want to leave the garage unattended since everyone else was out spending time with their family, and the tools had to visit the garage, but he would only be gone for a little bit, so what could possibly happen? He drove out and started to drive around the equator, not far enough where he wasn't by the builds anymore, just far enough where he could get tired. Once he came back, he heard soft snoring coming from his place. He slowly creeped to the snoring. What he found was something he wasn't expecting: a small T-Trux who looked no older than a few months was closed into a tight ball in the back corner. He slowly drove in, making sure not to wake up the tiny T-Trux. He wondered how this tiny T-Trux sneaked into the equator or how it got past D-Structs, but now he would take it under his tread and teach it how to build and be like him.

                                      Skya

Skya and Pounder are fighting again. pounder heads scared off another pack of craneosaurs from their nesting ground. This was the second time this month. All of the eggs had either been crushed in the flea or were already hatched except for one. Once, skya had scared off a pounder. She looked at the last egg as it started to hatch. She was thinking about trying to find its pack, but she realized that it would most likely imprint on her, so she just waited forward to hatch as it slowly did. When it finally cracked, she saw a (f/c) craneosaur quietly chirping at her as it started to climb out of its eggshell and drive around Skya's legs. She went to the forward hotel, where the newly hatched craneosaurs climbed onto it, and when Skya activated her escalator belt, she had the small craneosaurs best on her head as she started driving back to the garage.

                                      Ton-Ton

Ton-Ton was driving around, jumping off of ramps like he always did whenever he didn't have to help with the build or something. Since the reptiles were already doing something, Ty Skya Dozer and the others were doing something with the tar pit, he couldn't remember what, and he didn't really care to remember. That's when he was suddenly joined by a (f/c) Ankylodump who was keeping up with him and doing the exact same tricks, headbutting him slightly whenever he would get too close. Just in general, being a small Ankylodump He let out a soft chuckle. "So cute. What is your family, little dude?" he asked as he kept driving with them. He let out a soft squeak. "Well, have we go and try to find them?" He asked as he started to slow down. They let out another squeak and nodded their heads. Ton-Ton started to drive, with the small Ankylodump following after him. He kept driving around until it got dark. The smaller Ankylodump started to slow down and short quick burst, trying to keep up with Ton-Ton, but they looked tired. He completely stopped and turned to the young Ankylodump. "Little dude, why don't you get in my bed while I keep searching?" he asked as they nodded, flipped into his bed, and started to fall asleep. Ton-Ton slept searching until he was almost attacked by a scrapadactyl. He rather quickly drove back to the garage. He was going to search for the small Ankylodumps parents in the morning, but he got attached to them and sadly ended up staying with them.

                                      Dozer

Dozer was currently spending time with Tortools, trying to make sure they didn't cause too much trouble as they drove around the crater. As they drove through the crater, they started to find scrap pieces of metal. The Tortools started to hide under Dozer, and as they kept driving, they found a freshly hatched (f/c) Dozeratop who was right by its mother's dead body. They quit chippering at the corpse, trying to wake it up. It looked afraid of everything. Dozer had the Tortools hide behind a rock as he very slowly went to the hatchling and gently picked it up with his mouth by its tail. He slowly started to drive away from the scrap piles and away from the corpse, along with the hatchling slowly driving to take the Tortools home, and then headed back to the garage himself, not knowing how he was going to explain the new child.

                                      Garby

It was a clear night, and Garby was being himself and eating rocks by the garage. When he suddenly heard a hissy noise coming from where the rocks he was eating were, he got (s/f/c) spikes shot at him in the face. They didn't hurt, and they were tiny compared to him. He looked up and saw a child Stegarbasaur hissing at him and finding its tail threateningly as if they were trying to scare off Garby as they got ready to shoot their spikes again. "Woah woah, calm down, little dude, I'm not going to hurt you," he said, receiving another face full of spikes as the small unhappy Stegarbasaur pissed again, hitting the rock away from Garby and Cafe budding it from there, trying to get as far as possible away from the older Stegarbasaur. Garby grabs the small stegarbasaur by the tail gently enough where it wouldn't hurt it but enough for it to have to stop. As he gently lifts it up, slightly muffled, he says, "Enough, come now. I said I wasn't going to hurt you. Why are you acting like this?" All he got in response was a hiss as it tried to escape his grass as they were about to throw more spikes. "Calm down when we find your parents, so you will stop throwing spikes at me," he said, sounding upset as he got another pair of spikes thrown at him. As they drove around the crater, he kept getting more and more spikes thrown at him, which he slowly got used to, but sadly, he could not find the pack you belong to, which resulted in him having a very unhappy child, Stegarbasaur.

                                      George

George was finally dragged back to the garage after finding himself in various dangerous situations. So he was currently stuck in the creator's garage, where he couldn't leave anyone's eyesight since he was constantly being scrapped, and the dino trucks were getting tired of constantly trying to find him in an in an endangered situation, so he was currently staying in the garage, when he woke up from his mid-afternoon nap, he found a small plowasaur fast asleep on his jackhammer. He was stuck in the same spot a bit longer until they woke up, and when they did, they continued to follow around George.
