May 28th- Fake Dating

A DinahSiren powerless meet the family AU

Dinah's family comes to town for The first night of Hanukkah and she needs a date... cause she doesn't want to hear it from her mother.

If I owned anything in the Arrowverse... you already know.

Dinah's walking out the door of her apartment with her phone to her ear trying to not yell "I thought you all were coming on the 18th..."

On the other end of the phone she hears her mother say "We were, it's just that... Something came up and we are having to reschedule."

Dinah takes a deep breath and asks "So... You'll be here tomorrow, at about what time?" with a sigh in her voice.

Dinah's mother asks Dinah's dad in the background " Honey, about what time do you think we'll be at Dinah's tomorrow?"

After a short muffled conversation Dinah gets a simple "About 3, so I can help you get everything set up."

Walking out of her building onto the street Dinah says "I can handle it all momma, I'll see you all at about 5:30 tomorrow night." then hailing cab says quickly "I've gotta go momma, please do not come early... Just be there for dinner, I love you." hanging up before she can get a protest.

After work that night Dinah picks up her best friends Laurel and Felicity to go the the grocery store to help her get everything together so she can cook tomorrow.

Making their way through the produce section Felicity says "I'm gonna grab a couple things for the house... I'll meet you guys in dairy." shuffling off towards the fruit.

Putting her phone in her back pocket Laurel asks "What can I do to help?" with a slightly enthusiastic smile.

Dinah looks at her list and says "We need about fifteen pounds of potatoes, A couple good sized eggplants, a couple pounds of Garlic and... Six large Onions..." sounding slightly exasperated.

Laurel looks around for a moment then nudges the basket in the correct direction saying "We've got this D." with a wide encouraging smile.

Once they've gotten everything and they are almost back to Felicity and Oliver's apartment Felicity says "You know if you need any help cooking, I am only a phone call away." with a kind smile.

Dinah looks over her shoulder when they get stopped in front of Felicity's building and says "Thank's babe, I appreciate it." with a solid hug Felicity climbs out of the car waving over her shoulder.

After Felicity is fully inside Dinah pulls on down the road and after a moment of silence pulls to a stop at a sign, looks at Laurel apprehensively and asks "Are you doing anything tomorrow?" looking back to the road missing the small smile Laurel tries to hide.

Looking out the window Laurel says in a mock thoughtful voice "Give me moment... I'll take a look at my calendar " digging her phone out of her pocket and they both have a small laugh.

Watching Dinah smile for a moment Laurel shakes her head and asks "What time should I come through?"

Dinah gets an unsure look on her face and says "Well... Actually..." pulling in front of Laurel's building then looks at Laurel and says "My whole family is going to be here and I know that they all love me but every time I see them they all give me a sad look or a look of sympathy like 'Oh honey you'll find someone' and none of them get that I am happy without anyone but..." all in one breath and Laurel stops her with a gentle hand on her shoulder and Dinah takes a deep breath then looks at her hands with a slight blush.

Laurel then asks "What can I do?" with a soft smile.

Dinah looks up, locking eye's with Laurel and says "Would you mind coming as my date?" and when Laurel doesn't respond holding a look of pure shock on her face Dinah continues saying "I'm sorry, I know it's a lot, it would only be for one night, you're my best friend and I'm not gonna just ask some random person from a bar or something.." again not a breathing but this time out of anxiety.

Laurel grabs Dinah's shoulders and says "I'll be at your place around Noon." in a reassuring tone.

Dinah stops and her jaw drops slightly when she realizes what Laurel actually says and all she can ask is "Really?" with a shaken and surprised look on her face.

Laurel just smiles and leans over to kiss Dinah on the cheek then without another word gets out and walks into her building leaving Dinah with a small smile and a light blush.

The next day at about noon Dinah hear a knock on the door and calls from the kitchen "Come in Laurel!"

Laurel walks into the kitchen asking "What do you need me to do?" grabbing an apron and tying it on.

Dinah looks around and says "Well... The latkes are finished and on the warmer, the eggplant is next to prepare..." Laurel looks at the recipe for a moment and says "Alright... How much food do we have to cook?" with an almost concerned look.

Taking a deep breath Dinah says "To much... But we can do this." getting to work on the preparations.

After getting a few dishes prepped for cooking Laurel turns to Dinah and asks "So... what am I in for tonight?"

Dinah wipes her hands off and says "Well... A lot..." then grabs another recipe and says "We should probably come up with the whole how we met, how we got together and what stage we're at in our relationship..."

Laurel nods along and says "Alright, well... We could just tell the truth... We met four years ago, you asked me out one night and we've 'been together' ever sense..." then with a small breath, closing her eyes Laurel then says "And the 'stage of our relationship'... you can choose what's up with that." making herself busy with another dish.

Smiling at Laurel, Dinah laughs lightly and says "Well... We don't have to jump in the deep end with girlfriends or anything, though at the same time my Mom might not believe it if we don't have a 'label' like that... She's kind of old school." saying the last part with a sigh in her voice.

Laurel looks up from her current task and says "I am alright with 'girlfriends' on one condition." with a wry smile.

Dinah looks at Laurel with a confused and cautious look on her face but putting a challenge in her voice asks "What might that be?"

Looking Dinah in the eye meeting the challenge Laurel says "You'll have to ask me properly miss Drake."

A look of recognition dawns on Dinah's face and she walks out of the kitchen, Laurel watches Dinah walk out with a confused look on her face, when she hears Dinah's feet coming back toward the kitchen she starts to say "Dinah, I didn't mean to..." when Dinah walks in Laurel cracks a wide amused smile.

Dinah walking over to Laurel pulls a small group of roses from behind her back and says "Dinah Laurel Lance, would you please be my pretend girlfriend for the night?"

With an almost goofy smile Laurel takes the flowers, kisses Dinah's cheek again and says "You are such a doof, but yes, absolutely."

After getting everything together and cooking it all they have everything together and placed about five minutes before everyone is supposed to arrive and Dinah says "Is there anything we've missed babe?"

Laurel smiles at the pet name and says "Not that I can tell dear." walking over to Dinah with her apron in hand.

Dinah smiles brightly and says "Why have we never cooked together before?" with a light laugh in her voice then saying as an after thought "That was so much easier."

Laurel places her hand on Dinah's upper back rubbing circles lightly and says "We've never been together before." with a teasing smile.

They hear a knock on the door and Dinah says "Brace yourself..."

Walking behind Dinah toward the door Laurel says "I'm just ready to meet your family." smiling widely at Dinah when she looks over her shoulder with a smile and a slightly raised eyebrow.

Dinah opens the door and all Laurel can hear is murmuring and "Hello"s, "Look at you"s, "It's been so long"s and of course the "Baby girl!"

As Dinah closes the door she gets everyone's attention and introduces Laurel "Momma, family... This is my girlfriend Laurel." Then says "Laurel, this is my momma, my bubby and... The rest of these amazing people are my cousins, uncles and aunt..."

Laurel links her hand with Dinah and says "I am so glad you all came." then extends her hand to Dinah's mother and says "Mrs. Drake, I am so glad to finally meet you." and as she retracts her hand she and Dinah subconsciously lean into one another.

Dinah's mother looks at them and says "Laurel, you can call me Berta." smiling brightly then says "Dinah, you didn't tell me that you found someone..." gesturing with her hands toward them.

Dinah looks down at her and Laurel's linked hands then says "Well momma... There's been a lot going on at the PD and..."

Laurel steps in and says "It's kind of new, Mrs..." getting a look from Dinah's mother the corrects herself saying "...Berta, we haven't been together for very long." with a smile.

Walking along into the dinning room Laurel pulls Dinah's chair out for her at the head of the table then sits down herself at Dinah's Left.

As the food gets passed around and everyone starts eating Berta asks Laurel from across the table and asks "So how did you and my daughter meet?" with a curious look on her face.

Laurel swallows her food and says "Well... we had been working just adjacent to one another for a few month, I work for the D.A. so we had a lot of cases that overlapped paper work wise cross our desks, but we actually met thanks to a mutual friend and Dinah has been the best friend I could have asked for other than of course Felicity for years now..." smiling softly, placing her hand under Dinah's.

Berta looks at there hands then between Dinah and Laurel and says "Sounds like a hallmark love story to me." with a bright smile and with a slight curiosity asks "Having known each other for so long... Why did you only start dating recently?"

Dinah gets a slight look of panic on her face but Laurel looking at Dinah answers "When I met Dinah we were at each other a lot cause we looked at justice from two different view points, but no matter what I always walked away with a feeling in my chest that I could only describe as calming fire, after about a year I knew that I never wanted Dinah to not be in my life so I started spending my weekends making her and Felicity watch movie marathons or doing something around the city... not like we didn't do that before but I made it happen a lot more often." Then looking at Dinah and squeezing her hand, Laurel takes a small breath and says "After almost three years I knew for sure that my feelings for this wonderful woman were not only real but not going anywhere, even if I was not going to pursue them because she wasn't looking for anyone at the time... Fast forward a few months into this new year and she actually asks me out now... well here we are." closing her eyes and taking a bite of her food Laurel feels Dinah squeeze her hand and slide her thumb across her knuckles.

Laurel chances a look at Dinah and only sees a happy smile.

Everyone around the table give a resounding "Aww" and Berta says "That is so sweet, thank you for showing that kind of respect for my daughter." then looking to Dinah, Berta says "I like her, I think you found a keeper Dinah." with a happy and encouraging smile on her face.

Dinah gets a wide smile on her face, looks at Laurel and says "I fully agree."

As everyone gets up from the table and get's ready to leave Berta pulls Laurel aside and says "I can tell that you really love my daughter and I couldn't ask for a better partner for her, please take care of her for me alright."

Laurel simply nods her head and says "Yes ma'am."

Berta smiles wide and hugs Laurel tightly, walks to Dinah hugs her the same and says "Call me tomorrow and let me know when you'll be in town so we can get everyone together for a proper reunion... and maybe you can bring Laurel." saying the last part looking over her shoulder at Laurel with a smile.

Dinah smiles softly at Laurel who is walking back toward the dinning room then looks to her mother and says "Yes momma, I will."

After shutting the door Dinah walks back into the Dinning room to find Laurel cleaning and clearing the table and says "You don't have to do that Laurel, it's late..."

Not looking at Dinah, Laurel says "I'm alright, honestly I'm still kind of buzzing from all the activity... Today was a lot of fun."

Dinah walks over and starts helping Laurel and they don't say much until they finish loading the dishwasher when Dinah takes a deep breath and asks "How did you come up with that story for my mom?"

Laurel looks at Dinah with what she hopes is a calm look and says "I'm not sure what you mean..."

Dinah looks Laurel in the eye and says "When you said that you have real feeling for me..." with a slightly hopeful tone in her voice.

Laurel ducks her head and says "You said you wanted 'us' to seem real... And we also agreed to tell the truth so... That's what I did."

Dinah looks on in shock for a moment until Laurel lifts her head and sees Dinah's face, nodding her head in acceptance Laurel turns and says "I'll see you later Dinah..." walking towards the front door.

Dinah snaps back to reality and rushes after Laurel, taking Laurel's elbow in her hand turning her around all she says in "I feel the same for you." looking into Laurel's eyes to make sure Laurel knows that she's telling the truth.

Laurel gets an unreadable look on her face for a moment until she leans toward Dinah slowly, giving Dinah the opportunity to pull away, when Dinah closes the rest of the distance between them they both see starts.

When they pull apart, eyes still closed, foreheads leaned together, Laurel whispers "Wow."

Dinah opens her eyes and says "Wow indeed." smiling a content smile.

Laurel opens her eyes and says "You have no idea how long I've wanted to do that." with a wide joyous smile.

Holding Laurel tight to herself Dinah says "Yeah... I think I do."

Meeting Her

May 24th- First Meetings: To celebrate when they met in canon

A DinahSiren powerless AU

Dinah and Laurel almost meet several times... but only once the most obvious of events occur... they might just find their way.

If I owned anything in the Arrowverse... you already know.

After a long day at the SCPD Dinah walks into a bar for a well deserved scotch on the rocks, gesturing to the bar tender and walking to the stool at the other end of the bar top.

The seat was warm... seemingly having just been used, the bar tender walks over and sets Dinah's drink in front of her saying "You must be starting a trend, this is the second scotch I've served to this seat tonight." and walks away.

'Well that's a coincidence.' Dinah thinks to herself and downs her scotch calling for a second.

Laurel walk out of the bar towards her bike thinking... 'Is it supposed to rain tomorrow?'

___________

It's Dinah's day off so to relax she goes down to the park to watch the birds.

___________

Today Laurel decided she would call into work and take a walk through the park.

Walking along the trail around the pond laurel looks towards the large oak and sees the birds fly away.

Laurel wonders to herself 'I wonder what could have them all upset.' and continues walking.

"We really need to find you someone." Laurels friend Felicity says taking more popcorn out of the bucket they were sharing.

Laurel looks at Felicity without missing a beat "I also need to stop agreeing to these movie nights..." taking a handful of popcorn herself.

Felicity continues unfazed by the empty words says "I have a friend I think you would get along with, her nam..."

"You say that every time we see each other anymore... Can we not just have a movie night?" Laurel says at this point feeling very exasperated.

"I just want you to be happy..." Felicity says but finally gives in after seeing the tired expression on Laurel's face and extends the popcorn bucket in Laurels direction asking "More popcorn?" with a shy face.

Dinah grabs her clock and grumbles after seeing that it's 5:24am and get's out of bed with a sigh saying "I'm gonna kill whoever's at my door this damned early." through her teeth.

Throwing her door open all Dinah sees is a blur of what she is able to discern as her friend Renee and his daughter Zoe.

"It's not even six in the mornin' man, what are you two doing?" Dinah says closing the door and rubbing the sleep from her eyes.

"You're a cop... how did it take so long for you to wake up." Renee asks and Dinah glares at him.

Zoe steps in and asks "Aunt Dinah, we were wondering if you wanted to come with us to my school in..." she looks at her watch and looks back at Dinah with a smile "About forty-five minutes."

Dinah looks between them and asks "What for?"

"I can't just walk in with him..." Zoe says pointing over her shoulder at Renee "On parent day, you know how he is about boys."

"You got it kid, I'll be ready in ten." Dinah says with a smile then looks at Renee and says "Coffee... whole pot, my travel mug is over the sink."

Laurel wakes up that morning quarter past six and rushes around to get everything she needs for her day, just as she get's out the door of her apartment she runs into Felicity who asks "Do you have a minute?" in a meek voice.

"I'm running kind of late Felicity..." Checking her watch "I have two minutes."

"I just wanted to tell you that I'm sorry and you don't need anyone else... And I wanted to give you this coffee cause I figured you might forget again." Hoping that Laurel would forgive her and they would be alright.

"First of all yes I did forget so thank you." Laurel says taking the coffee "Secondly, I forgive you... thank you for letting my singleness be as it is... For now." Extending her arm to give Felicity a side hug and finally say "Last of all... I need to get to work so... Can you get me a cab while I lock up?" and Felicity runs out of the building.

Running out of the building Felicity stops in her tracks and yells for a cab then hears "Felicity?!" from behind her.

Turning around Felicity yells in excitement "Dinah! Renee! Zoe!" and tackles them all in a hug.

"It's good to see you, we have a thing but can we catch up tonight?" Dinah asks taking a large drink from her travel mug.

"Yeah for sure... Wait are you are two a..." Before Felicity is able to finish her question Zoe steps in while Dinah tries to stop choking on her coffee having realized what Felicity meant saying "Oh nonono, I'm taking aunt Dinah as a dad buffer for a school event." pointing at Renee for emphasis and Felicity shakes her head in acknowledgement then says "O-o-oh, my bad."

Renee looks at his watch and says "It's about that time, we'll see you tonight at Dinah's place Felicity."

Walking out of the building looking at her phone Laurel asks Felicity "Animated this morning... Who were you talking to?" looking up and around before looking at Felicity expectantly.

Felicity just smiles and says "Some old friends."

Later that night

*knock knock knock*

Dinah opens the door to her apartment and Felicity walks in holding a bottle of wine out "I hope that's okay, I didn't know what else to bring.

"It's great." Dinah says and looks at the bottle and smiles "Actually, this is exactly what I needed... After dealing with all those P.T.A. moms." popping the cork as they walk into the dinning area.

"I hope it's okay, i invited a friend... I don't know if she'll show up though... justice never sleeps and all that." Felicity says semi rambling.

Dinah get's a curious look on her face and asks Felicity "What do you mean?"

Felicity says "She's a lawyer and she's been working on this thing for months... I don't know." with an almost worried look on her face.

"Maybe we could all sit down for dinner after her case is done if she can't get here tonight." Renee says with a smile, lifting a glass of wine in a toast saying "To justice, done right."

"SALUD!" They all say in unison raising glasses.

About a week later

Laurel just got home from a long day in court, just sitting down in her sweats listening to some smooth jazz she hears a knock at her front door, hoping they'll go away she closes her eyes and tries to ignore it... But the knocking continues.

Throwing the door open with a huff Laurel sees Felicity and tries to smile.

Felicity looks at Laurel and says "I'm sorry to bother you so late but I know that you just got through that big case so I wanted to let you know we are having a small party to celebrate... Here is the address and information." She says holding out an index card.

Laurel takes the card and gives a simple "Thank you." with a tired smile.

Dinah get's a call just after Felicity get's to her place and says "I have to get to a scene, feel free to stay and tell your friend congratulations for me alright." And walks out the door.

"Be safe aunt Dinah!!" Zoe calls after her.

"I really wanted her to meet Laurel... I think they would get along rather well." Felicity says with a pout just as she pulls her phone out of her pocket to read the text that just came in.

I can't make it to the party tonight, one of my clients was assaulted tonight - Laurel

That's fine... You aren't the only one apparently. - Felicity

"So... Pizza, i heard a rumor about Hawaiian being on the menu." Felicity says with a wide smile.

"What happened?" Dinah asks walking under the yellow tape.

"I'm not sure, all we know is that this lady was walking down the street and got assaulted... By who... is what we don't know." says the badge heading this case under Dinah.

"I want that woman taken care of, anything she needs you get it for her, once she's no longer in shock get all the information you can without causing her any issue." Dinah says taking a clipboard from another officer.

"What went on?" Laurel asks her client sitting on the curb with her.

"I was walking down the road headed home and this large man grabbed me... Then I woke up." the client says with a confused look on her face.

Laurel starts to ask "Did he..."

Her client shook her head and said "No... but he did slam my head into the ground apparently." grabbing her head lightly.

Then an officer walks over to them and asks if there was anything that they needed while popping open a first aid kit.

"No, all I really want to do is give you the information you need and get home." the client says matter-of-factly and Laurel follows with "I would like to request a proper meal for her before anything... and before you ask I am her lawyer so please do what I say or I'll have to speak with your superior officer."

The next day

"I am sorry I wasn't able to be there Felicity, would you like for me to get you something from He-brews?" Laurel asks over the phone call.

After hanging up and placing her and Felicity's coffee orders Laurel hears a woman behind her say "Excuse me..." Laurel turns around and her eyes go wide.

"Is your name Laurel by chance?" The woman says with a curious smile on her face.

Laurel can only nod her head yes before blinking to bring herself back into her brain and finally says "Yes, that's me... May I ask who's asking?"

Extending her hand the woman introduces herself "My name is Dinah, Felicity's friend... You were supposed to be at my apartment yesterday."

Laurel takes Dinah's hand and says "Well in that case, thank you for inviting me into your home... and it's nice to meet you." with a small aw stricken smile.

"The pleasure is all mine." Dinah says with a shine in her eye and a wide smile on her face.

Unknown Forces

May 26th- Soulmates

A DinahSiren powerless multiverse AU

They both wonder what's wrong with them... Until.

If I owned anything in the Arrowverse... you already know.

"They are literally from two different worlds..." A voice says from the light.

"Yes... I know this, but hear me out." Says a pleading voice.

"I don't need to hear a thing." The voice from the light says with agitation in it's voice.

"But they were maked for one another and you know that..." Says the pleading voice, then with realization evident in it's tone says "Cause you made them!!" In excited exasperation.

"..."

Oliver, Barry, Felicity, Dinah, Renee, John, Curtis, Caitlin and Ralph are all gathered in star labs R and D lab watching Cisco walk about with determined steps, running final tests and talking to himself until he turns to them all still looking down at his pad.

Looking a few things over then looking up Cisco says "If I have this correct..." walking over to his desk in the lab he then says "This beautiful beast should be able to open a 'Breach' onto another earth." looking at the machine then around the group.

Barry and Oliver look at one another and Barry says "Why would we want that?" with confusion clear in his voice.

"And how are we sure that there are other earths in the first place?" Dinah asks skepticism clear on her face and everyone nods along except Caitlin.

"Cisco and I have been talking about this for... Well, I'd guess about a year and some time now that I think on it." Caitlin says then looks at Dinah and asks "What do we have to lose in finding out anyway?" in a hopeful voice.

"Are you all ready to witness another reality?" Cisco says in excitement, holding a finger about the 'red button'

Everyone nodding their heads except Dinah who just kind of stands there with her eyes closed and says a small prayer under her breath.

Cisco hits the button and stands back from the desk hollering over the loud machine starting "HOLD OOOOOONN!"

After a moment of loud jet engine like sound and a large shake in the ground they all right themselves on their feet, they watch as a cloud like spiraling portal materializing in front of the machine, between two pillars providing static discharges to allow stabilization.

As a clear picture of what looks like a Star city side walk and street appears in the cloudy vision.

Oliver looks at the vision for a moment and says "That looks like... the street on the way to the D.A.'s office." then looks at Cisco and asks "Isn't this supposed to be another world?" with a confused look on his face.

Just as Cisco is about to say something they all see a woman walk through the portal looking down at her phone not noticing where she is until she almost walks into Dinah.

Looking up the woman says with a shocked face asks "I'm sorry." then looks around at the lab in confusion and asks "What the hell? Where am I?" digging in her purse and pulling out mace before noticing Oliver and asking "What did you do Ollie? Who are all of these people?" not noticing Oliver's gob smacked expression.

Unable to say anything Oliver just looks around at everyone, so John steps in even if all he's able to say is "Laurel?"

Her head snaps to him and she says "Yeah John... What's going on... why am I here and for goodness sake why are you all looking at me like you've seen a ghost?" looking around at everyone.

Renee looks on in surprise for a moment but shakes himself back to reality and asks "This is Laurel?" stepping forward with a thumb extended towards Laurel as he look between her and Oliver.

"Why is everyone acting so odd?" Laurel asks looking around again.

Felicity then says "It's just that you're... well at least on this earth you're..." looking down at the ground, rubbing her neck mumbles the rest.

Cutting Felicity off Laurel says "What do you mean, THIS earth?" in a very concerned tone.

Looking around Caitlin finally asks "Would you like a frozen lemonade?"

After Cisco explains the machine and Oliver explains this earth's Laurel's untimely death.

Laurel get's up and says "... I should really get to work..." then starts towards the machine and asks over her shoulder "Cisco... would you please send me home?" with an impatient tap of her foot.

Dinah watches on with a still semi-blank expression... and right as Cisco opens the portal back she says "Laurel..." as Laurel turns around Dinah tosses her a walkie-talkie and says "I'm curious... could you help me find out if these work through this thing?"

Laurel think's to herself 'A walkie-talkie... is she seven?' but says "Sure..." with an odd look.

Once Laurel get's through the portal Dinah leaves with an excuse of work and once she get's out of ear shot she put's the walkie-talkie and says "If you to need someone to talk to..." takes a breath and says "If you can even hear me, you can talk to me... if you want that is." still walking she get's a sad look on her face and starts to lower the walkie-talkie when she hears a weak static.

Laurel's voice comes in quietly saying "I assume this is Dinah." then as an almost after thought she says "And thank you."

Dinah get's a small smile across her face and presses the button saying "That's me." then with a wider smile says "Enjoy work miss D.A."

That's all the contact they have the rest of that week and a few days.

Over the next week or so Laurel goes about her life on autopilot, going through work and daily activity as normal but with her mind on the other earth and that voice from the walkie-talkie, after thinking on her own for eight day, when she's arrives at home Laurel thinks she's ready to talk about all the crazy that is the Multi-Verse so resolves herself to calling Dinah the next day.

About nine days after Laurel goes back to her earth Dinah is sitting in her office at the C.C.P.D. behind a pile of paper work, when she hears a beep from beside her and a soft "Dinah... Are you there?" come from her shoulder bag.

Dropping everything, Dinah picks up her bag from beside her desk and as soon as she get's the talky says "I am." in what she hopes is a soothing voice.

Laurel's voice sounding a bit more there says "I'm doing a lot better... I only have a few questions."

Dinah takes a breath and says "I'll do what I can to answer anything that you want to know." sounding slightly nervous.

"See, I knew it..." says a proud voice

"Yes, I know... As you said 'I maked them'... So yes..." Says the voice in the light.

"So what now?" says the 'proud voice' now nearly confused.

"Just watch." Says the voice in the light again.

Over the next week Dinah and Laurel talk bi-daily at least just learning about the differences and similarities of their respective earths so Laurel can get used to the new revelation and so Dinah can just hear Laurel's voice.

After another month Laurel and Dinah are talking and Laurel says "Hey D... I have a question."

Dinah sounding concerned says "What is it?" wishing she could hug the fear away.

Laurel takes a breath and asks Dinah "Do you think... Maybe I could take my vacation on you're earth?"

Taking a sigh of relief Dinah starts packing up her stuff for work and says "I don't see why not... I'll talk to Cisco, when is your vacation?" Dinah says asking the last part walking out her office door.

Dinah hears a simple "Three days." then Laurel says in a hurried tone "Gotta go D, let me know what he says."

"Alright, see you soon D." Dinah says with a teasing tone.

Three days later...

Dinah is standing in the lab bright and early walking around Cisco talking kind of rapidly "Thank you for doing this Cisco, she seems to really want to see this earth after the week." with an excited bounce as she comes to a stop standing in front of the machine, talking while Cisco finishes the set up.

Stopping for a moment Cisco looks at Dinah and asks "So you're walkie works well then?"

Blushing lightly Dinah says "Yeah it did." then looks over at the machine and says "I get why everyone misses this earths Laurel so much... If she's anything like her." with a far off look on her face.

"And she should be walking in... iiiinn... 4...3...2...1..." Cisco says pressing the button and the 'breach' opens just like last time, only now Laurel is standing with her suitcase waiting.

Walking through, Laurel looks around though this time with much more attention, once she has set down her bag she and Dinah lock eye's, Dinah with a slight crack in her voice says "Hey." with a wide smile.

Laurel cracks a small smile and says "Dinah, it's nice to hear your voice... Not over a walkie-talkie speaker I mean." walking over to Dinah with her bag.

Dinah's swallows the lump in her throat and asks in a quiet voice "Come on... Let's get some lunch." grabbing the handle of Laurel's suitcase, when Laurel goes to contest Dinah taking her back she get's a look from Dinah that says 'let me.'

They both look over to Cisco Dinah says "Thanks Vibe." and Laurel says "Thank you for doing this Cisco."

Cisco smiles and says "Just enjoy your time here and let me know when you're ready to go back." then waving then out with a shew he says "Go on your lunch date and have a good time."

Both Dinah and Laurel blush lightly walking out in a slightly awkward silence.

Walking down the street with full stomachs Dinah and Laurel go on in a comfortable silence until they start down the stars to the subway stop and Dinah says "I have a room reserved at a hotel down the street from my place or you can stay with me... I'm wasn't sure what you would like so I covered both in case." in a nervous tone.

Laurel looks at Dinah and asks "I wouldn't want to intrude..."

Dinah cuts her off and says "No intrusion... You can stay at my place as long as you would like." with a smile.

Laurel watches Dinah's face and when she see the sincerity there she says "In that case." linking her and Dinah's arm and continues saying "To your place we go." with a bright smile.

Walking into Dinah's apartment Laurel looks around for a minute and says "It's so..." then smiles at Dinah and says "You." continuing to look around.

Dinah just watches her for a moment with a small smile and a brightness in her eye's.

Laurel turns around and asks "So where am I gonna be?" walking her way back over to Dinah.

Dinah shakes her head slightly and says "Right this way." and walks down the hall, pointing at a closed door she says "That is the bathroom." then arriving at the end of the hall she pushes a door open and says "And this is where you'll be." gesturing openly with her hand.

Laurel looks at Dinah in slight confusion and says "This doesn't look like a guest bedroom D."

Dinah looks at Laurel with a meek smile and says "I'll be on the couch."

Looking at Dinah with a look of contrary Laurel tries to say "Dinah... I can't take your bed... This is your space..."

Dinah cuts her off saying "Laurel, you are my guest and more so my friend... Please let me do this."

With a small huff Laurel walks in and get's her bag settled, taking off her shoes and laying then by said bag.

"The way they look at one another..." An excited voice says to the light.

The voice from the light says "Yes, I know."

"Wait a minute!" The excited voice says accusingly.

"What is it now?" The voice from the light says in exasperation.

"You knew all this was gonna happen, didn't you?!" The excited voice says in a more accusing tone.

"..." The voice from the light goes silent.

Over Laurel's vacation she and Dinah go all over Star city and Central city, seeing sights and just being with one another.

One day while their walking down the water side walkway in Central city Laurel grabs Dinah's hand and links their fingers, neither of them say anything but Dinah squeezes gently in acknowledgements.

The days following they start to hold hands when they walk just about anywhere.

The day they walk into Oliver and Felicity's place they're leaning slightly against one another when Felicity opens the door and they almost get knocked over when Felicity screams in excitement notices their hands together.

Looking almost affronted Felicity asks "When did this happen?!" still at an octave almost only a dog could hear.

Looking down at their hands Dinah and Laurel both say "It's not..." with an almost sad look on each of their faces.

When they get back to Dinah's that night Laurel turn's to Dinah as Dinah is about to lay down on the couch and asks "Would you consider going out with me." In one breath and Dinah almost missed it.

Looking surprised Dinah asks "Don't we go out every day..." thinking that Laurel might mean she has something specific they might like to do.

With a sad look Laurel says "I suppose we do..." and turns to go lay down as well.

Dinah watches her go and sits in confusion for a moment... Then with a face palm and a quiet "ouch" she stumbles off the couch and runs into her room and says "Yes." through her slightly exhausted breathing.

Laurel, looking in slight shock at the sudden appearance, she shakes her head and asks "Yes?" with a small smile growing on her face.

Dinah looks at her with a wide smile and says "I would love to go out with you..." still leaning on the door frame still catching her breath.

Laurel's smile growing wider all she can say is "Really?"

Dinah walks over to the bed and sits down next to Laurel sliding her hand into Laurel's and holding it like it's the most precious thing in the world, looking at their hands taking a deep breath Dinah says in an almost in audible tone "I never thought... well, honestly I never thought you would have feelings for someone like me."

Laurel get's a confused look on her face and squeezes Dinah's hand lightly and says "You mean Warm, Caring, Intelligent, Gorgeous, Honest and so... so Generous."

Dinah leans her head on Laurel's shoulder and says "I... I honestly don't know what to say."

Laurel pulls Dinah into a tight hug and rubs her back softly saying "You have no idea how disappointed I was when I thought you were trying to let me down easy." in a slightly shaky voice.

Dinah leans back, looks Laurel in the eye and with a laugh in her voice says "You have no idea how much of an idiot I felt like when I realized what you meant." threading their fingers together again.

"Now I get it..." The voice says again to the light, now sounding a bit deflated.

The voice from the light asks "Huh... it's funny how that works isn't it?" in a sarcastic tone.

"Sometimes, I forget that you've... well made everything..." The voice says sounding a bit downtrodden.

The voice from the light says "Patience in a virtue." with a comforting tone.

On a stone tablet somewhere in the universes Dinah and Laurel's names are written along with those of all the soulmates that have found one another through out history, by chance, destiny, fate... or whatever happenstance seeming occurrence... A tablet that has recorded love over centuries on time.
