Hey, did you get to watch all of season 2 of My Adventures with Superman? I NEED to nerd out with someone on it...
I did! I love it a bunch, love the new take on Kara (and that Supergirl suit AAAA!!!!!!!), love seeing Mallah and Brain again and that they'll be able to be regular characters in the third season, love how Livewire and Heat Wave are lesbians, love the elaboration on Krypton and stuff that fixed my issues of it in the previous season (never like when modern adaptations go the "uh, actually, the homeworld society the lost hero is trying to reconnect with are violent warmongers in this version" *cough cough Eltarian War* so I'm glad that was kind of dialed back here.)
I had some minor quibbles with stuff that felt kinda contradictory or unresolved (the lack of follow-up/lack of closure to Sam with his ditching Lois and disapproval of Clark and the lack of follow-up/closure to Jimmy avoiding Clark were probably my biggest problems....and on a more minor scale, what was up with one episode establishing Hank Henshaw had a wife, just for the next episode to list him as one of Metropolis's most eligible bachelors?????? Bro was the trip to France THAT BAD?)
All is forgiven though for giving me my newest MAN.....what a man what a man what a man.........babygirl you're responsible for so many atrocities
(sidenote: TV Tropes puts "Adaptational Ugliness" in his entry and it PISSES ME OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Magic: The Girlbossing Submissions
Hello and welcome to my blog, in which my goal is to figure out which Magic the Gathering character is, in fact, the most girlboss ever.
Magic the Gathering lore hosts many a girlboss. Magic is a game that spans over thirty years of real-world history, and over 3000 years of in-lore history. In that time many a girlboss has risen and fallen in the world. We all know such contemporary MTG girlbosses as Liliana, Emrakul, and Elesh Norn but there are far too many characters in Magic to filter through all of them looking for other such examples. This is where you come in. Which MTG characters are girlbosses is a difficult question to answer and I would like to hear submissions from the community.
Feel free to submit multiple characters if you'd like. Descriptions don't need to be super long or anything just a sentence or two, but feel free to make them as long as you want.
Submissions will close once I feel that we have a significant wealth of girlbosses to chose from.
If you feel the need to discuss any of the girlbosses with me or submit propaganda, my asks are open!
Submissions here: https://forms.gle/pR6Z5d2JpptSnkKW7
This poll is inspired by magic-specific poll brackets such as the ones run by users like @planeswalker-umbral, @dimestoretajic, @bace-jeleren.

Great Goblin Bash: Final Round
"With great power comes great risk of getting yourself killed." - Goblin Arsonist
Well this is it folks! After weeks of eye-pokes, snarls, and gut punches, we are down to the final 4 contenders for the greatest legendary goblin printed (through March of the Machines: Aftermath)!! Our champions eagerly rose to the challenge, and each represents a different plane from across the multiverse. So let's hear it for Breeches of Ixalan, Kiki-Jiki of Kamigawa, Daretti of Fiora and Krenko of Ravnica!!
Below the cut, each of our champions have prepared a short statement on why they should be named champion. But before that, we will ask one final time:
Breeches: "We fight Dusk, mess them good. VIOLENCE! We meet up. ALE AND CARDS! We are pirates. VOTE FOR ME!"
Kik-Jiki: "Wanna know what's better than one champion? Multiple copies of the champion! Wanna know what else is great? Riding a dragon up to a sky city to steal some delicious grub. So if you're awesome like me, you know just what our combo can do."
Daretti: "Where a lesser mind sees junk, I see infinite potential... in eradicating the junk that is my competitors. I've already taken down those who once opposed me at the academy. These novices don't even stand a chance."
Krenko: "Knives are such pretty things. They catch the sunlight oh so nicely, especially when they've been shanked into something fleshy, if you get me. And those rumors about a 'mysterious' Mr. Taz? Forget 'em, doesn't matter. We all know who the real boss is around here."

If you absolutely had to completely change your username, what would you change it to?
I’ve considered chronojet-sarkhan for a while, as recognition of the fact I fact play Magic and Vanguard, and like Sarkhan and (used to) play Chronojet Dragon. I’ve also considered acknowledging Kamen Rider in my url with something like cross-z-sarkhan.
But the most likely would probably be izzet-fun, as I still like associating that with my blog.
Thanks for the ask, this was really interesting to think about!

So, I was curious about the Mystery Men soundtrack earlier today (people forget that All Star was on there) and I looked up the track list, and I saw you on there? On a track by Mark Mothersbaugh? What, uh... what went on there? (I would have listened to the song, but the track's not on Youtube)
That’s not me. That’s Will Wheaton, who is an accomplished composer and musician.

Battle of the Gods - MTG Bracket
It is March, my dudes. Discard me and cast me from exile, because I am feeling the madness! The madness for yet another Magic bracket, that is.
This will be a clash amongst the 38 named gods (sorry, Mistform Ultimus and changelings) with cards, representing five planes. That means we'll start with six play-in matchups and continue on from 32 to the one we'll crown Tumblr's Favorite God!
I'll be using #mtggods as the tag, for your following or filtering pleasure.
Like new DailyMTG content, the first pairings will release at 11am Eastern tomorrow. The full bracket follows, and some notes under the cut. May the best god win!
Notes on selection:
I did attempt some seeding, but a popularity contest is inherently hard to seed for. It's not like I could look at their regular season record, recent results, etc.
Similarly, the pairings are random-ish. I didn't want to limit things too much by forcing or avoiding same color, plane, etc.
Are the Hour of Devastation gods really named gods? Yes. Next question.
I excluded the D&D gods. Nothing against them, but there are 5, and it would've thrown the numbers off.
@nicol--bolas I'm so sorry, I didn't think until way too late to include god-pharaohs, and I guess that way I could've fit the D&D gods in too. My life is full of regrets.

EnchantWorldle 1-card opener update: Sludge Strider -> Shardless Agent
i initially chose sludge strider on the basis of dividing years and mana value in half numerically, but doing that elbow work last night made me remember the division should be by population. which is different!
the median year for cards is 2012 (12,163/12,246)
(2009 cuts it 10,162/14,537; also note that 2009 has more cards above, meaning it gets worse as new cards release. also true for 2012 but 2013 doesn't have any cards w/ 2 types and 2+ colors afaik)
the median mana value is 3 (8,867/10,483)
(mv 4 cuts it 14,834/5,723. i'll mention here that these 'halves' don't all sum to the same number because it excludes ones that exactly equal the mana value/year. also the 'erring side' doesnt matter as much here cuz sets keep pretty much the same ratio as more cards get made)
subtype does in fact matter since 12.5% of all cards are humans
(13.6% are humans or rogues, less than 1% are either human rogues or insects, and none are insect rogues if you're wondering. oh and 3 insect humans. thanks delver!)
(oh also 54% of cards are creatures. so we may not need a second type at all, but getting artifact out early is handy because colorless is harder to nail, and most colorless cards are artifacts)
i also for a while assumed shardless agent came out in original alara block (and was gonna write this about nyx weaver), but turns out nope, its first printing was Planechase 2012. huzzah!
it keeps sludge strider's rarity and types, and it has a much more favorable year, mana value, and subtypes. what it loses is the third color, but a 2-color card is the converse of a 3-color (since there's only 5) so the math works out about the same. seems like a better option all around. ignore the fact i played pure/simple/hapatra today. i got a 4 on it anyway (even on a lost coin toss) but still
oh and i'll tag ya again @dimestoretajic
#enchant worldle#long post#do you think the guys who made this knows we're minmaxxing or whatever this is#and do you think we should tell em#or maybe like put a thread up in r/mtg
