Plus-size retailer 11 Honoré just had the most powerful fashion show: Shop every single look

Plus-size luxury e-tailer 11 Honoré just kicked off New York Fashion Week on Wednesday night, with a powerful, size-inclusive show that included Laverne Cox shutting down the catwalk in a princess-worthy fuchsia gown by Zac Posen.

Curvy models Candice Huffine, Precious Lee, Marquita Pring and more strutted the catwalk wearing a myriad of red carpet gowns any A-list actress would wear to the Oscars. After all, the looks were designed by the fashion industry’s premiere crop of designers — Altuzarra, Brandon Maxwell, Christian Siriano, Prabal Gurung and Jason Wu were among the 35 designers featured in the show. Their collections are often adorned by celebs and royals, from Nicole Kidman to Meghan Markle. All of the show’s looks flowed seamlessly from one to another — from luxe tuxedo blazer dresses, sleek sheath dresses and pleated coral gowns to emerald off-the-shoulder blouses and sexy cold-shoulder dresses.

11 Honoré’s show comes at an especially crucial time during NYFW’s shift towards greater size inclusivity. Recent fashion weeks have witnessed a rise in body-positive fashion; Torrid staged its first runway show, as did Loft, and labels like Chromat, Christian Siriano and Prabal Gurung have been making plus-size models a regular part of their runway shows.

But what makes 11 Honoré different from the others is that its entire business model is centered on catering luxury fashion to women who were underserved for so long. The e-tailer stocks looks from nearly 90 designers in sizes 10 to 20-plus, proving that any woman can wear luxurious designer threads. To bring new meaning to the “See now, buy now” model, 11 Honoré gave show attendees booklets that enabled them to shop the looks straight from their seats by scanning Shopify-enabled QR codes on their smartphones.

Nine employees from the Prince William County Police Department (PWCPD) have received promotions.

The department recently hosted a promotion ceremony at the Ferlazzo Building in Woodbridge.

The ceremony participants included five police officers, who advanced to sergeant and first sergeant, according to a release.

Additionally, four civilian members were promoted to Administrative Bureau Supervisor, GIS Analyst, Accounting Services Coordinator I, and Administrative Support Assistant II.

The promoted employees, who were recognized by PWCPD Chief Barry Barnard, are:

Etihad Airways sponsors celebrity designer Julien MacDonald’s for an exclusive fashion event

Etihad Airways teams up with British celebrity designer Julien Macdonald OBE – and recently hosted a fashion show at the UAE national airline’s state-of-the-art Innovation Training Academy in Abu Dhabi.

The celebrated designer also hosted an intimate VIP after party for the fashion community and Etihad Airways VIP guests.

During the opening night of the New York Fashion Show, the airline brand also took this opportunity to unveil its new promotional fashion film titled, “Runway” which features the all the standard safety instructions in a fashion-forward context. It can be clearly seen that the airline is highlighting its ties to the fashion world.

Julien Macdonald is a famous Welsh fashion designer who has appeared as judge on the television programme, Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model. In 2001, he has been named as the ‘British Fashion Designer of the Year” and was appointed as chief designer at Givenchy. Celebrites who wore her designs includes Madonna, Beyonc��, Jennifer Lopez and Gigi Hadid.

This exclusive event hosted by the acclaimed fashion designer and the airline brand was attended by eminent personalities including the renowned stylist, Karl Plewka, fashion and lifestyle media, up-and-coming Emirati and Arab fashion designers, corporate partners, regional social media influencers, and Etihad Airways employees.

The highlight of the event is a catwalk show presenting outfits created by local designers and fashion brands including Endemage, Twisted Roots, Taller Marmo, Noora Hefzi, Kage, Effa, Bambah, Jelena Bin Drai, Baruni, Dima Ayad, Madiyah Al Sharqi, and Sem Sem.
