Dance Practice - Diluc x gn! Reader
Summary -> 800 ish words (probably). Diluc attempts to teach you how to waltz.
Warnings -> None
A/N -> You know the drill: Not proof read and self indulgent. Also feel free to send in requests. I'm trying to think of ideas that aren't just for Wriothesley and Boothill. Can't show my favoritism too hard
Your fork fell against the nice plate, the loud sound echoing through the halls of Dawn Winery. “What?” Diluc looks up from his own dinner, a confused look in those big, red eyes. “It’s rather customary. It’s just a small celebration for the top investors. My father set the standard that they be ballroom style with some hors d’oeuvres, some nice wine, nothing too extravagant.”
“And I will be expected to go?” “Why yes, you’re my partner. There have been plenty of rumors about you and the investors would love to meet you. Quite frankly, I’d love the opportunity to show you off. It makes the idea of hosting one of these parties worth it..” He said with nothing but pure adoration in his voice. But it did nothing to soothe the way your heart dropped in your chest, nerves turning your blood ice cold.
“Big party huh? Tuxes, dresses, all those prying eyes?” “Hardly prying. They’re so self absorbed they’ll barely remember what else they talk about during the party.” He shrugs and takes another bite of his food.
“‘Luc… Darling.” You try to hide the way your voice quivers. “You really want me there?” “Of course I do, why would I not?” He places his hand on top of yours, rubbing a thumb gently across the back of your hand.
“I want you to think really hard about the differences of our upbringings.” You always try to gently remind him that your childhood was nothing like his, and he always seemed so slow to remember.
“I don’t… oh.” A flash of guilt crosses his face. “I suppose I should have told you about it more than a weekend in advance.”
“Yeah. Probably.” You could do nothing else but offer a soft chuckle. “I don’t know the first thing about any fancy parties. I don’t want to embarrass you.” “Nonsense. I’ll have Adeline take your measurements tomorrow and you and her can pick out your outfit of choice tomorrow. I’ve got a good tailor who’ll rush the alters.” He responds casually and continues to eat his dinner, yours now going cold. It was hard to have an appetite with the sudden rush of nervousness.
“That’s not all I’m worried about. It’s the whole… behaving properly, the dancing, the not knowing which fork goes where-” “It’s not a dinner party, love, there won’t be any forks.” “That’s not my point and you know it.” You sigh, defeated.
Diluc places his fork down and moves to sit next to you, rubbing his hand across your back. “You’re right. I need to be taking this more seriously. I can’t say I understand how nervous you are right now, but the least I can do is help you through it. May I ask what’s stressing you out the most?” His voice held emotion he dare not show in front of other people.
“I think… The dancing. They’re going to expect me to dance with you at least once, I assume?” “Yeah. They will. But it’ll be okay.” Diluc hums softly. “Just follow my lead, relax, and only pay attention to me, and you’ll do great..” He places his lips against your temple.
“I’ve never ballroom danced before. They always make it look so… complicated.” You pok at your food some more.
“Not at all. Come here.” He took your hand and pulls you out of your seat. He moves to put on some classical music.
“Diluc we don’t have to do this right now-” You try to protest but he steppes in front of you, tying up his hair… Your greatest weakness.
“Relax.” He said softly. “Just a simple waltz.” He takes your right hand in his. “Just place your other hand right beneath my shoulder blade.” You stood chest to chest with him, his hand resting on your back.
“Seems rather close.” You chuckle and ignore the way he always made your heart race.
“It’s supposed to be close. Just relax and follow my lead.” He steps slowly, letting you mirror his every move.
You were starting to get the hang of it, eventually allowing the two of you to step in time to the music drifting softly in the background. “This is it?”
“It would be it if you stopped looking at your feet, darling.” You look up into his eyes only to realize how gently he was looking down at you. His movements are fluid and practiced, allowing him to focus all of his attention on you. Even with your clumsy movement, he looks at you like you are the most graceful thing in all of Teyvat. “You know… I’ve always wanted to dance with you like this.”
“Diluc…” Your voice was soft, mirroring his loving tone. You move to rest your head on his chest, your hand sliding down from his shoulder blade down to his lower back, pulling him even closer as you continue to follow his steps.
“I love you.” He whispers against the top of your head. “I love you too…” You nuzzle further into him. “I’m not too good at this, am I?” “Absolutely abysmal. We’ll work on it.”

Something’s Fishy Here (Merperson!reader)
Notes: My contribution to Mermay 2024 while I still have motivation to write this month.
Characters: Alhaitham, Diluc Ragnvindr, Wriothesley, Dainsleif, Neuvilette, Capitano
Warnings: mentions of physical violence
Masterlist
Alhaitham (Lemon Shark)
Sumeru was known as the land of kelp. It was a large kelp forest before the reefs of Fontaine and after the clear waters of Liyue and Mondstadt.
You, being one of the more curious members of the merfolk, had been traveling alone for a time.
Sumeru, as it happened, was one of the places you’d been wanting to visit the most.
That was when you first met Alhaitham, a lemon shark merman who was a tad more standoffish than most others of his subspecies.
You were a beta fish merperson, your tail frilled and colorful. It was one of your only defense mechanisms save for the shorter claws you had compared to other more aggressive merfolk that came from harsher places.
Alhaitham was, by all standards, a good lover to you. He treated you well and kept you safe if ever he saw someone as a threat.
One time, you accidentally flipped him over while you were bothering him and that was the day you realized what Tonic Immobility was.
He likes nuzzling your neck and is practically attached at the hip to you all evening after a long day apart from you.
Diluc Ragnvindr (Red Snapper)
You were a shark, so you often tended to be a bit of a loner.
That’s why you were so surprised to find that you had feelings for Diluc, a Red Snapper merman.
Diluc didn’t really know how to react when he found you were often there to help whenever he needed assistance, but he figured out why when you bared your teeth at Donna when she tried to make him uncomfortable and get in his personal space.
Soon enough, he plucked up the courage to ask you to be with him. He noticed you looked rather excited when he asked, and you happily said yes to him.
He definitely laughs when he realizes you can go into tonic immobility.
He doesn’t do it often, given that you’re in a trance for almost fifteen minutes every time he does it, but he does find it heavily amusing.
He likes staying close to you, given he rarely gets to have a break from work, so you usually help him with his work when you’re not working for the Adventurers Guild.
Wriothesley (Great White Shark)
Shark Wriothesley is the best Wriothesley
You were a swordfish merperson, but you quite liked being around Wriothesley even before you got into a relationship with him.
There’s a lot of hunting competitions between the two of you.
Wriothesley, despite knowing you can hold your own, definitely fights for you whenever you two get into any skirmishes with others because of his more instinct driven nature that rears its head in fights.
His territory is the Meropide Trenches that separate the north and south hemispheres of Fontaine’s waters.
He hates it when you flip him over. His tonic immobility lasts for a little over ten minutes, but he still hates it because it stresses him out.
He’s fiercely protective of you, but it’s because he loves you and doesn’t want you getting hurt.
Dainsleif (Greenland Shark)
He’s definitely a Greenland Shark merman in my personal opinion.
Khaenri’ah used to be a reef system, but during a tectonic shift, was sucked deeper down in the ocean, resulting in a tsunami due to the colliding tectonic plates.
The tsunami wiped out many in the population, which were sharks, and Dainsleif, cursed by the Seven alongside the other pureblood Khaenri’ahn people, slowly became a Greenland Shark, but his tail remained the same deep royal and navy blue colors it had always been, despite the fins morphing over time to tolerate the far lower depths of the sea.
That was when he met you, a snailfish merperson, who lived closer to the deeper depths of the trenches.
You got along well with him, and often visited him given how easily you traveled to the deeper parts of the trenches without any trouble.
He’s a tad more protective, but that’s because he doesn’t want to lose you as he has most of not all of the other people in his life.
Neuvilette (Swordfish)
Neuvilette is a swordfish merman, I’ll die on this hill.
Instead of being protective and possessive of you, he mostly just tries to avoid situations where you would need his protection.
He likes giving you gifts, it’s one of the ways he expresses his love for you.
Suddenly, your home is filled with little trinkets and shiny things he finds whenever he’s out and about in the reefs.
He also speaks to the melusines, who swim around with you when you’re unable to see him due to his work.
He likes physical touch, it’s one of the things that calms him down in the rare occasions where he gets angry.
Though he rarely shows it, he does often worry about you, even if you can defend yourself.
Capitano (Great White Shark)
Another shark merman.
Capitano is one of the larger shark merfolk, so he usually doesn’t even need to fight for someone to get the message to leave if they bother you.
You’d wandered into his territory by accident, but you, being a remora fish merperson, immediately thought he was friend shaped and swam up to say hi.
He’s perplexed by you. Few to none of the other merfolk in these waters swim within half a mile of his territory, but he’s certainly not one to refuse the company of someone as kind as you, so he lets you explore.
He slowly grows to realize he has feelings for you, and it’s only when he sees Dottore, a tiger shark, going after you that he realizes that he’d rather fight someone to the death than see you hurt.
After all, it ought to be only him biting you, and certainly not to kill you.
After that incident, he asks if you’ll be in a relationship with him, and you say yes.
He’s a good lover, and provides most anything you wish for.
He’d raze the whole ocean if only to see you happy.

diluc ragnvindr x reader
warnings: none, just fluff, diluc just raising my standards higher by the second.
happy birthday, mr husband. thank you for making me simp so hard that i can't even concentrate on studying for my semester exams tomorrow. WHAT IS THAT BIRTHDAY ART?! IT'S ILLEGAL.
the whole of mondstadt witnessed how their uncrowned king fell in love.
for them, it was like watching a romance movie, seeing how the main character slowly changed, bit by bit.
at first, the glance that was directed at you was of indifference, diluc just noting what drink you wanted as you stuttered it out from beside lisa, pushing your drink towards you before tending to another customer.
then was the look that showed acknowledgement when lisa introduced you as a junior from sumeru, who came to mondstadt to work under her. all he did was nod, sparing you a glance. nothing more, nothing less.
the next change in the way he looked towards you was something a lot of people noticed, but only one witnessed. the way he looked and acknowledged you with respect everytime you passed him, giving a small nod whenever your gazes met. the reason will always remain a mystery to the people of the city of freedom.
not to a certain cat allergic archon, though. he did not mean to pry, but who in their right mind would ignore a scene that played straight out of a novel when you happened to stumble upon it? not him, definitely.
so he watched, slowly sipping from his bottle as you patched the cat that diluc was holding, eyes blown wide with panic but hands as steady a mountain. he did not know what happened before, but it wasn't hard to guess.
though, even the bard wasn't so nosy as to look on when diluc's gaze shifted from the cat to you.
the change from respect to adoration was gradual, but not subtle by any means.
the more the time the two of you spent together, the stronger the gaze grew. it still held the respect from before, but the adoration just settled in alongside it, never to leave.
it was kaeya who got to witness the addition of absolute tenderness in his brother's eyes. he was heading back towards his quarters after a stroll with sister rosaria, that's when he noticed you both, lost in each other's embrace. so much so that even as a drunkard passed you, loudly singing, neither of you even showed a sign of breaking the hug.
the tenderness directed towards you when the hug finally broke sent kaeya back to his childhood, when his big brother had almost the same look but directed towards him. that was when he knew that the dark knight hero did not have any plans to let you go.
affection that made it's way into the eyes of the eldest son of ragnvindr was what adelinde noticed first.
the night was cold, strong winds and heavy rain hit mondstadt. she was waiting for the winery's master to come back, towel ready in hand.
soon enough, he did return but with his hand clutching onto a figure behind him, both panting heavily as their clothes dripped the water down onto the carpet.
ever the gentleman, diluc thanked her politely before grabbing the towel from her hands and leading you towards the fireplace, making you sit in front of it while drying your hair with the towel in his hands.
the head maid was about to leave but the look in her young master's eyes made her feet freeze to the ground, heart fluttering as she witnessed them shine after almost 4 years.
adelinde hoped with all her heart that you would never leave the red haired man behind before she strolled back to her bedroom.
the love that spread into his gaze was for only you to witness.
love that sent your head reeling as soon you your eyes fluttered open, still in his embrace as he slowly cupped your cheek. the small, soft smile that settled onto his face was enough to send your heart into a rampage, feeling both as if you're drowning but also as if the you took a breath of the most fresh air this world possibly had to offer, simultaneously.
the chuckle that left him when you cuddled into his embrace, hiding your face in his chest, did not make it any better.
your situation only worsened when he pressed a sweet kiss onto your head and pulled you closer, whispering;
'wish i could stay like this forever.'
this man was a hazard to your heart.

Hallo halo!! If is okay could i request venti x reader one shot? Where venti and reader and a group playing truth or dare and someone dare reader to cuddle their crush or someone they want for the whole game and reader walk up to him shy and embarrassed yet hopeful waiting for his permission and what venti reactions when he found out reader choose him? (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
a game of confession
synopsis - a game of truth or dare forces you to make a confession
includes - venti
warnings - gn!reader, brief mentions of alcohol, fluff, maybe ooc, wc - 1k
it would've been a normal night at angels share, if not for the increased amount of people pouring into it. you had built a habit of visiting the tavern frequently to hang out with the usual trio of rosaria, kaeya, and venti - whether or not this was a good habit remained unclear to you, atleast you weren't there every night like they were. they were somewhat good friends of yours and most often, this would be the only time you could see all of them at the same time, however tonight it seemed to be busier than usual as you could see a couple of non-regular faces around.
as soon as you stepped through the door, rosaria turned to wave you down from across the tavern and encouraged you to hurry over. normally you'd sit next to the three of them on the stools beside the actual counter but seeing as a couple more people were joining, they had taken up a booth not to far from the usual spot. tonight it seemed like eula and lisa would be joing the four of you - kaeya was also insisting that he'd convinced diluc to join nearer to closing time but none of you really were all that convinced.
angels share itself seemed much more populated with practically every seat in the room being occupied, but even so barely a single one would pay attention to your booth - they were all too swept up in their own drinks and conversations to care. you might not have been the heaviest drinker out of the group but this time was rather special as it was pretty much the only time you could all let loose and talk much more freely than everyday greetings - arguably alcohol did make a few of your companions quite loose lipped.
as the evening progressed, more people stumbled out of the tavern, and easy chatter and laughs faded from your booth as lisa proudly declared she had an idea. you all looked at her waiting for her to explain what her great idea was and eventually she smiled and announced 'how about a game of truth or dare?'
kaeya let out a small laugh before responding 'why not? im in', he then proceeded to signal over to diluc to join but it was clear that diluc was ignoring him and his efforts.
rosaria nodded before taking another drink and eula agreed aswell, you decided that there was no harm and agreed soon after.
a mischievous giggle escaped the bard and he proclaimed 'sure, who's starting then?'
lisa made a vague gesture to point to herself which made sense since she had proposed the idea. then she went about looking at everyone at the booth before deciding on her first victim. a couple of rounds had gone past and all it really was, was just standard rather subpar dares and a few boring questions so lisa decided that perhaps it was time she picked up the pace when it next became her turn to pose a question.
she turned to you with a smirk which made you shiver more than you'd like to admit 'truth or dare', admittedly you'd rather pick truth as you were concerned that she might have a rather embarrassing dare lined up but you knew that she probably could embarrass you alot more with truth. it felt like picking the better of two evils really, but eventually you pushed down your slight fear and picked a dare.
'i dare you to cuddle your crush for the rest of this game, as something tells me they might be sat right here with us' her smirk became much more evil and you immediately regretted picking a dare. you had absolutely zero clue how she even found out, was it really that obvious?
you knew there was no way to get yourself out of this and so you decided to swallow your dread and stand up. you moved to the other side of the booth and shuffled past lisa and sat beside venti. you swore you'd never felt so embarrassed in your life, you needed to remember to get lisa back for this one.
yes ut was true that you did have a crush on the bard but you didn't want to cuddle him if he would be uncomfortable with it, so very hesitantly and awkwardly you asked 'would you mind if i.. uh.. cuddle you for the rest of the game'
venti stared at you in disbelief, making you feel slightly more embarrassed - now more concerned he was about to reject you. he was completely caught of guard and he felt himself practically freeze but he knew you, and everyone else, were waiting for an answer. and as a matter of fact, he wasn't opposed to it and was rather flattered that someone such as yourself had a crush on him.
the embarrassment was practically eating you up and you were about to stand back up and go back to your seat, and try to forget this happened, but venti smiled.
'i wouldn't mind at all'

cw: sex pollen, maid/master, dub-con due to sex pollen, thigh fucking, reader is afab and wears a maid uniform but no gendered terms or pronouns are used
when diluc had found you in the gardens, dutifully picking flowers for the vases that stood on most surfaces in dawn winery, you had seen that there was something unusual in his eye - a brightness to the crimson depths, a flush to his cheeks, breathing heavy. but you know that he often goes out in the mornings to practise with his claymore (you and some of the other maids had occasionally peeked from behind luxurious curtains, sighing over the ripple of his muscles and the ease with which he swung the greatsword about), and had put it down to that--
as it turned out, as diluc had huffed out and puffed out and groaned against your ear in between pinning you between his muscled thighs and working your plain cotton standard-issue underwear down past your thighs, it had not been simply the exertion of a day’s practise. you make out just enough in between the grunts to get the gist of it; some unusual herb or flower had reacted badly with the electro from an abyss mage’s attacks when he had gone out on one of his to-be-kept-quiet missions last night and had produced some kind of aphrodisiac pollen, and if he didn’t find some relief soon he was simply going to die.
master diluc is not the kind of man who is prone to exaggeration; and the longer you had looked into those blown wide eyes and that lovely, pleading face . . . the longer you had listened to his whimpers and noticed the sheen of sweat on his forehead, the more sure you had been that you had to help your master out in any way that you could. after all, what is a maid if not there to satisfy their master’s whims? you had looked up at him and asked him, breathlessly, if there was anything you could do--
he’d groaned, buried his mouth against your neck, pulling at your maid uniform to nuzzle into the curve of your breast and bite and suckle at the bare skin, making lovebites bloom that you would surely have to explain to adelinde come tomorrow morning. in between huffs, he had begun to thrust his hips against you so you could feel the heat and stiffness radiating from his crotch, his trousers tight against a generous endowment.
“i need,” he’d mumbled, kissing, biting, his gloved fingers unsurely tugging first at your skirts and then at your stockings and then digging into your thighs to part them. “oh, archons, i’m so sorry . . . you smell so good . . . ah. i’ve wanted you for months--”
it seems that, under the influence of this sex pollen, his tongue had been loosened. he babbles about how he has always watched you when he’s seen the maids, how he’s wondered if you are truly as soft as you look, how he’s wanted to palm at your breasts like this and kiss you like that since the moment he saw you. in between, he grunts out apologies, desperately rutting his clothed cock against you in search of some kind of friction that may provide him with an ounce of comfort from the desire that licks all up his spine and muddles his mind.
“please, master diluc,” you gasp out, your hands winding about his neck and tangling in his mussed crimson hair if only to give yourself some kind of purchase. your own body thrums with the knowledge; master diluc wants you. has wanted you. fantasises about you, perhaps in the same way you fantasise about the master of the house in the dead of night in the maid’s bedrooms with your hand slipping guiltily between your thighs. “i want to help. do with me what you need to.”
“i can’t,” he whines into your neck, almost on the verge of tears. “i won’t . . . defile you like that. not like this--”
so you take it into your own hands to unbutton his trousers; to work at the placket, to take his cock (stiff and aching, slick with own precome, the tip flushed ruddy red) into your warm palms. if anybody sees you in the gardens like this your reputation will be ruined, but you cannot bring yourself to care - not when he whines as you handle him, not when he groans chest deep and kisses your mouth fiercely as if he never wants to let you go.
he’s a gentleman, even so. your underwear is long forgotten, your slick soaking into the earth beneath you - but diluc will not take your virtue and ruin you even with the drugs and toxins of whatever flower this is muddying his mind. instead, the master of the house - his coat thrown to the wayside, his shirt tore open, his trousers down about his muscular, scarred thighs - ruts between your legs, working his slick cock through the mess of your damp thighs, fucking into them as if they can work in your cunt’s stead.
he’s whimpering and moaning, sweating, his hair falling unbound about his shoulders in the messiness of all of this. strong hands dig into your bare thighs above where the ribbons tied about your stockings keep the garments up. as he fucks your thighs, he presses his mouth against yours to muffle your whines and whimpers and his own growls. it is all animal nature; two creatures learning one another in the most base of ways. the friction the slide of his cock provides to your own aching cunt is not enough, but you say nothing as his tongue slides against yours and his teeth catch on your lip and master diluc uses you as you have always wanted to be used by him.
you sense that it’s working in the twitch of his hands where they’re fastened about you; the shuddering of his abdomen, the slack whine of his mouth against yours and the way he begins to breathe even heavier. his cock between your thighs seem to pulse - and before you know it, he’s pulled back from the kiss, groaning out;
“archons-fuck-sorry-coming-you’resolovely--”
as his seed pulses out in thick ropes, coating the ground and the backs of your legs, splashing against your poor untouched cunt. you know that master diluc was being a gentleman, you know he didn’t put his cock inside of you for noble reasons . . . but that knowledge does nothing to assuage the frustrated knot inside of you that you want to be filled and you haven’t been.
“i’m sorry,” diluc gasps out. “i’m sorry, i couldn’t help myself . . . i--i understand if you wish to turn in your resignation, i’ll provide you with ample mora for a new life--” he tails away as you do not speak, simply lay there beneath him, your uniform in disarray and the mixture of your own slick and diluc’s come pooling on the lush garden beneath you.
you must be pouting. diluc’s eyes are not quite clear, but he looks down at you and a dry, throaty chuckle forces itself from his lips as he sees the disappointment in your face.
“oh,” he says. and then - realising exactly what it is, what you want, a smile breaking across his lovely mouth. “i . . . i do believe i still feel a little out of sorts, if you would be so kind as to accompany me to my bedroom.”

Any your fav -> 👇 male character with a affection reader
JK pls take your time and uncomfortable is ok but I sure be sad
From your weird requester tanakochan
ah i'm not sure i understood the way you phrased that 100%, i took that "your fav 'deal with it' characters" which i hope is right and i'm so sorry if it's not ;v; also you're not weird at all! weird means to be perceived differently from normal and 'normal' is a fake societal standard, nothing wrong with being yourself here :D
Warning: this post contains yandere-themes, including delusional behaviors, obsessive behaviors, this is honestly the most tame i've posted so far, and other potential topics. Please read at your own risk!
Yandere!Alhaitham with an affectionate reader would be challenging. On one hand, he doesn’t want to discourage you because he loves that you’re so willing to seek him out without him having to persuade you to be around him. On the other hand, he struggles with physical touch, even having trouble still when his roommate of a little over a year now brushes by him in the halls on occasion. He is open to all other forms of love, words of affirmation, acts of service, receiving gifts, quality time, or even if you want to just hang around his office while he works and do your own thing. He is thrilled when you come to him for love in any of those ways, but physical touch is something he needs to warm up to. Everything he touches is because he wants to touch it and he knows what to expect, but when someone else touches him, he internally freaks out.
Alhaitham watched somberly as you made yourself comfortable on the couch in his office. You had come here with the intention of hanging out with him, but with him being so busy he wasn’t able to leave his desk. He could see the look that flashed in your eyes briefly, the way you wanted to ask to sit next to him or even on his lap but refrained, knowing he would deny you. So instead, once you’ve made yourself comfy on the couch, he collects his things and sits on the opposite side of the table, making himself comfortable on the floor. When asked, he says he simply wanted a change of scenery, hoping you ignore the way his legs brush against yours under the table. Baby steps.
Yandere!Diluc is another who is very open to affection except for acts of service and words of affirmation. He simply cannot accept gifts without feeling as though he needs to give something back immediately, lest he be in debt to you or have you hold it against him. Not that he thinks you’d do something like that, but from past experience, he can’t deny the way his heart drops and his breath catches in his throat everytime you surprise him with something. And words of affirmation are simply not his forte. After his father passed, he never really had anyone to express those feelings to him verbally, so now, as an adult, he just can’t seem to believe they’re truthful. The words have lost their weight to him. He excels at physical affection though, even if he seems a bit hesitant at times. That is something he’ll never turn down.
Diluc sighed in content as the two of you laid on the bed, your head on his chest as his fingers gently traced down your back and across your shoulders. It was times like these, where it was nothing but the two of you in the dark room, candles long since blown out, stars hanging high in the sky and the sun peacefully at rest for the night, that he found the most joy. The way your breathing slowly evened out to match pace with his, or the way your hearts slowly synced beats. He found himself wishing he could’ve pursued you sooner, wishing that he had more time with you before this so that he could love the times to come even more. Love is lovely.

Based on how you wrote some genshin yanderes i was really surprised to see Scaramouche being somewhat manageable! (Yandere standards, not normal ones) I expected him to be the opposite! He turned out to be the one who ‘looks like will be difficult, but is manageable’ in the end! (Which is really well written!)
Your Albedo…on the other hand… terrifying. Would never want him as a yandere, (this is a compliment to you, he’s really well written!) thank you for the painkiller tho i guess?? He’s definitely someone who looks manageable but is terrifying
scara's darling giving advice on how to manage him to a group of note taking fatui trainees: basically, want you need to do is give him three head pats a day and one kiss on the cheek minimum. i consider this the formula to success.
how i've characterized yan scara has changed a lot overtime, he went from being the most bastard of bastards to this clingy feral creature who yearns for your attention 24/7 and has an attitude about it. albedo though... PHEW... what you said made me think who the least manageable yanderes would be. here are my two cents.
alhaitham has this way of getting under your skin without ever really trying. he never raises his voice, the intonation of his words are always steady, and he just gives this overall impression that he knows better than you. he never comes right out and says it, but he doesn’t need to. he doesn’t belittle your intelligence so much as he makes it feel inferior to his. there are no masterful plans or complex webs weaved by alhaitham to ensnare you, his methods are always simple, which serves to infuriate you further. if questioned on this, he’ll say he doesn’t see the point in putting in more effort than necessary if he can keep you where he wants using some well-placed coercion and threats. like... be more creative about it at least? damn. to make matters worse, him saying this isn’t even intended to rile you up. he just kinda responds to your question and then asks what you want for dinner. you can’t stand him.
albedo knows you uncannily well, to a degree you did not expect. albedo is a well-known enigma in mondstadt, so, chances are you’ve heard of him in passing before getting scooped up. after the initial shock wears off and your scheming begins, you’ll have this preconceived notion in your head that albedo is this out-of-touch, emotionally stunted alchemist who prefers seclusion over interacting with the populace. you figure you can use this to your advantage. imagine your surprise (and disappointment) when you realize that oh, he’s very emotionally intelligent for a guy who shuts himself in his laboratory for days on end. you’ll discover this the hard way after a few attempts at manipulation. he kinda plays along, your confidence builds, then he unceremoniously pulls the rug from beneath you at the end. gives you an A for effort though. the man has multiple files about you, including your behavioral patterns, organized in alphabetical order. good luck trying to pull one over on him.
cyno cognitive dissonance is genuinely impressive and could be subject to extensive study. he’s running through mental gymnastics to explain to you (and himself) how what he is doing is not at odds with his belief system. no, this is an exception, because... because it is! sometimes extreme measures need to be taken to achieve desirable results. cyno explains that he’s just keeping an eye on you because of how dangerous it is out there. why would he risk letting you be the victim of a crime when he can instead ensure no crime will ever take place? he seems oddly content with himself after voicing this line of reasoning, as if he’s given it extensive thought. and he has. he has to convince himself that what he’s doing isn’t wrong before he can go about convincing you. no argument on your behalf will ever chip away at his ironclad defenses, he’s spent months if not longer mentally justifying everything he was planning to do.
diluc has this odd savior complex that nobody asked for and imposes it on you. requests that you remove the rude term ‘kidnapper’ from your lexicon when speaking about him. really though, you think the infantilization is the worst part about it. it’ll be time to eat a steak and the man gives you a spoon. who does that? your living quarters have essentially been childproofed, he’s taken precautions in ways you weren’t creative enough to dream up beforehand. want to take a walk? a servant must accompany you. want to take a bath? a servant must be present ‘just in case’ you’re in danger of drowning (you really didn’t know what to say when hearing this one). it’s so suffocating and the frustration of being constantly belittled builds. then he has the audacity to wonder why you glare at him the second he enters your peripherals. for shame.

I don't know when, i don't know how, but SOMEBODY has ruined my day by giving me flashbacks of my most embarrassing moments from years ago.
Tongue frozen on the iron bars, check, had to alert the peeps to get the teach to bring hot water and she kept giggling at me.
The first time i tried proper kissing? Fucken awkward.
Accidentally mixing my coca cola glass with dads wine glass, and spurting it out with ews in a FUCKEN BUFFET?! FULL OF PEOPLE?! WHO TURNED TO LOOK AT ME AS MY FAMILY LAUGHED AT MY MISFORTUNE?!
Getting whacked in the head by a ball during gym class when a classmate threw it? AND they had the AUDACITY TO LAUGH AT ME! (And people wondered why i skipped that class-)
But honestly, i want schadenfreude and a creator x a hot guy (you can choose who, i'll take anyone at this point to ease me) with just these scenarios in mind, if you could.
i have found that even forced exposure can help with younghood embarrassment.

< masterlist >
diluc is a man with many skills.
he’s led the dawn winery for many years and have taken hundreds of shifts at the angel’s share, every item on the menu practically muscle memory by now. he knew the regulars and their typical orders, he knew the quickest way to strip mint stalks of their leaves, how to stack wine barrels most efficiently and how hot he could make his flames without getting burned, practically every skill he could reasonably need mastered when he was young.
…practically was the operative word, of course.
in business, it was practical to learn how to perfectly sign his signature. it was practical to know how to be diplomatic, practical to know how to properly tie a tie or check if a suit was fitted properly, practical to learn all of the skills he’d need to be the head of the dawn winery when he was young, so that by the time it was him sweeping a heavy coat over his shoulders for a meeting, he’d have every ability necessary to tackle whatever faced him.
but of course, his “training” didn’t cover more… personal things. he was too busy learning dining etiquette to know how to make small talk—that didn’t revolve around one party trying to get something from the other, that is. he knew how to set tables and properly pour wine, but his greetings were industry-approved stiff, responses a standard dialogue that he had nearly memorized. everything he said was mapped out in his head far before he’d say it, neatly laid out in his mind as he guided the conversation where he wanted it to go. efficient for formal meetings, but it left him… he didn’t like the word ‘lost,’ but it was the only one he could reasonably apply.
diluc set down the glass he was cleaning, picking up another to keep his hands busy. yes, there was a formal dishwasher hired, but he didn’t like being idle. he didn’t quite know what to do or where to put his hands, feeling a bit exposed without his coat. the bar provided a wide berth between him and any customers, but he couldn’t quite get a handle on the easy banter charles had with the patrons during his shift. it was like he was locked in an odd limbo between work and rest hours; without his gloves, vest, or other protective layers, all shed to prevent them from being stained in the case that something went awry, but still needing to keep face in front of others. he didn’t have his gloves to pull down, no comforting weight of his coat, his vision on a clip on his belt instead of the knot it usually hung from. everything wasn’t quite where it should be, and he was reminded of that every time he reached or twisted in the right way and the small spikes on top of his vision pressed through his shirt and into his side.
he felt… exposed. lost. and he didn’t know what to do about it.
he looked up as the tavern door opened, whatever expression he had before falling away as he was brought out of his thoughts. relax, he tried to tell himself, but it’s hard to believe that when one of the worst reasons for his confusion just walked in.
you.
archons, diluc was awful when it came to interacting with you. his heart beat too quickly and a shockingly large part of his brain thought that this meant he was in some sort of stressful meeting, all of his words coming out flat. while in its intended environment that would keep him from losing his temper or showing any weakness, in here it just made him feel more weak.
your head dipped. “master diluc, captain kaeya.”
and his brother certainly didn’t help the situation.
kaeya had turned when you entered, and greeting you with a sweeping arm and a cheery call of your name. “i didn’t think i’d see you so late; how kind of the heavens to bless me with your presence once again.”
diluc’s jaw tensed, and he traded glasses again. the pile of dirty cups was quickly dwindling, in no small part due to his own thoughts. he tended to be a bit quicker at the rhythmic movements of washing when he was caught up in his own lackluster abilities.
you laughed, taking the seat next to kaeya at the bar. all at once diluc was hyper aware of every action he made, from the change of towels to wipe off the water lingering on the cup to the smallest twitches in his expression or shifts in his weight.
“got caught up in some last-minute stuff, a coworker needed my help. i do hope you weren’t waiting too long?”
kaeya’s eye flashed, and he downed the rest of his drink before launching into a clearly fake story, talking about how actually, in the half hour or so delay in your appearance, the angel’s share was stormed by hundreds of fatui.
as if either of them would let that happen.
you played along, though, asking questions in the right spots and getting him to spin the story further. diluc exchanged his glasses again, doing a double take at the empty rack once he did.
that was far from ideal.
“-right, diluc?”
he looked up in an instant, eyes flicking about as he assessed the situation. clearly, he’d missed some part of the conversation, but what?
you, blessed you, had noticed his confusion, a smile on your face as you rested your hand on your chin, leaning on the bar. “i don’t know, would you really waste a bottle of dandelion wine like that? surely your claymore would do just fine.”
with a sharp swallow and a quick prayer—not that that would do much, knowing the archon he was praying to—diluc took a chance.
“of course i would. one bottle is worth it to defend mondstat, and it’s quite unwieldy to use a claymore in such a confined space.”
he fought a grimace the second the words left his mouth. his tone was too flat, his words uninteresting, certainly less entertaining than whatever fantastical tale kaeya had spun.
you nodded, and he could thankfully see amusement in your eyes. “how noble, master diluc.”
kaeya cut in, picking up his empty cup. “if you can spare a bottle for the fatui, then you can spare a glass for the cavalry captain, can’t you?”
he took the cup, but added it to the dirty rack alongside the one in his hand, taking a new one and wiping it to remove any water despite the fact that he knew there was none. archons, when had he gotten so…
he pushed away that train of thought, pulling out a bottle as he set the fresh glass down. “certainly not. wine is to be drank and paid for, that bottle was… an unfortunate accident.”
“my my, you’re no fun.” diluc poured his glass quickly—”not too much, not too little, okay? a little more, a bit… there, that’s good. well done, son.”—and moved it in front of him, pushing the cork back into the bottle with the heel of his palm. he set it back in its place, and noticed kaeya’s eyes on him as he took a sip.
no, not him, on-
“not worth a bottle, but worth a new glass? perhaps i am a hero after all…”
why was he unsurprised he noticed?
“i don’t want it to stain,” he lied, knowing damn well that stained glasses was something he was more than capable of handling. kaeya hummed, swirling his cup once before you prodded him about his day and he was back to his usual self, talking with significantly less grandeur than his tale from before.
diluc tried to pace himself, being extra meticulous in his cleaning, but there was only so many times he could twist a glass before he had to accept that he was done with it. an odd sort of dread settled over him as he reached for the last cup. today was a slower day, and he normally didn’t run out of cups until everybody was too drunk to notice how awkwardly he stood behind the bar. but kaeya was too smart to get properly drunk, you’d just arrived, and the night was far younger than he’d like.
he was cleaning too quickly again. normally, getting everything he needed to done with fast was a good thing, but now it just left him uneasy. charles didn’t have this problem, and he didn’t even clean glasses during the downtime. no, he struck up conversation with every single person that sat at the bar, no matter how downtrodden or celebratory. he was naturally friendly, always knowing exactly what to say despite the fact that diluc would bet serious mora on the fact that he didn’t have the faintest idea what he’d say until the other person was done. if he thought about it… even kaeya had a script of sorts, a certain way to twist the situation back in his favor, but he managed to talk to people just fine. no, that wasn’t the problem.
the clatter of the cup in his hands on the drying rack pulled him from his mind. he shouldn’t be zoning out so much on the job, but what took his attention first was the fact that he was now seriously out of tasks to complete.
…beautiful.
“diluc? is everything alright?”
it’s your voice, surprisingly, that asks for him, and he fixes his expression in the split second it takes to look at you instead of the glasses. his mind reaches, grabbing the familiar sentence that must have left his lips a thousand times.
“everything is as it should be. why do you ask?”
a defense of his position, dismissing any ideas of weakness, and a prompt as to why that line of thinking was in discussion at all. part of him recoiled at the idea of treating you with the same recited lines he did a business partner, but he genuinely didn’t know what else to say. he was distracted, to come up with another acceptable response would make him hesitate, which would set off yours or kaeya’s alarms- or both, if he was particularly clumsy with his speech.
“did the glasses offend you, or something? you’re glaring.”
and yet, despite his prerecorded reliability, he is at a loss once more. genuine inquiries about his well-being were rare in the spaces he typically interacted in, and it didn’t help that he was still stuck in work mode.
“…they have not,” he decides, picking his language carefully. “i am simply thinking about something else.”
horribly vague, and would almost certainly warrant a follow-up question. before you even opened your mouth, he knew what you’d say.
“what are you thinking about? do you need help?”
the second part was a shock, but he blessedly had an answer for the first. “nothing important. it will be handled in due time.”
kaeya raised a brow, and diluc pointedly ignored his questioning look. it wasn’t often that he resorted to diplomatic language in the presence of civilians, but you… he could never quite think right when you were around. he could only hope you never misinterpreted his odd words as mistrust.
you hummed, changing the subject shortly after with a question about the vineyards, something about a particularly bad season for crops you’d heard from sara. he paused for a moment—an acceptable pause, he told himself, as most people did think before speaking—before settling on giving you an update on the winery as a whole. anybody that listened in would only find what they could learn by asking his workers, and no trade secrets were to be found in the fact that his grapevines were regularly checked.
with the slightest twitch of his hand, he realized he was speaking to you like a businessman again.
kaeya’s cup had emptied at some point, and diluc reached for the bottle of dandelion wine without stopping his sentence, a small nod from kaeya the only confirmation he needed to pull off the cork.
“the staff have been doing well, though this is shaping up to be a rather warm summer.” not that you asked, he notes, internally chiding himself as he pulls over kaeya’s glass. he considers swapping it for a new one to give himself something to do, but decides against it. he rattles off a few details about some dahlias that adelinde is trying to grow, how they keep seeming to wilt. he doesn’t stop talking to pour kaeya’s wine, eyes focused on his task as he continues talking nonsense about flowers. flowers. since when did he talk about the hobbies of his staff when asked about the vineyards?
he twisted the bottle as he pulled away—“this way any wine that drips will land on the back label. you don’t want the front to look messy.”—corking the bottle and forcing himself to finish this childish line of speech.
it wasn’t childish, not if you seemed genuinely interested, but any more and kaeya would have too much to leverage against him later. granted, he likely knew more about diluc than he’d like given how irritatingly good he was at reading people, but that was a problem for another day. for now, he let kaeya grab his cup on his own, wiping his hands of nothing as he waited for your response to what had certainly come off as nervous ramble.
your head tilted. “has she asked flora?”
“assumedly, or she had another worker do so for her. it’s not like her to let something rot like that.”
“that’s good to hear. and you?”
“pardon?” his hands had frozen, towel still in his hands, and he turned your words over in his mind. his reply had been instinctual, mostly to buy him time to think.
“how are you doing? don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to hear the winery is well, but you seem nervous.”
kaeya chuckled into his wine, and diluc’s jaw ticked.
“i am well, my apologies if i have worried you.”
“oh, alright… it can be hard to tell sometimes with you, i wanted to be safe.”
he knows. he’d meant his apology, but any sincerity was likely lost in whatever filter was placed between his mind and his mouth.
the air was awkward, and he didn’t know how to fill it. kaeya was looking at him, clearly expecting him to continue whatever tentative conversation was lingering, but he greatly overestimated diluc’s ability to do so.
he hung the towel back in its place, finally meeting his brother’s eyes. “behave.” they flicked to you, and his words were slower coming out. “make sure he doesn’t steal anything.”
you smiled, swearing on it even as the three of you knew kaeya wouldn’t do such a thing. diluc stepped out from behind the bar, grabbing a large serving tray and walking from table to table, collecting empty glasses.
maybe he was a coward for avoiding conversation- scratch that, he definitely was, but what was he to do about it? talk? that was already established to be off the table, and one could not typically make conversation without talking.
diluc shook off the topic, climbing the stairs to the second floor of the bar. all he could do was hope you didn’t hold it against him, or archons forbid think it were somehow your fault. hopefully you wouldn’t hate him by the time he managed to get his words in line with his thoughts.
diluc stared at the empty page in front of him, twisting the pen in his hand.
another skill he didn’t have. informal letter writing.
letters to merchants, fine, letters to buyers, he had a standard template for. letters to and from employees, informing him of upcoming leave or similar work related matters, all of this he was prepared for.
but this…
he sighed, watching as ink dripped onto the page, setting down his pen.
what did he say? what did he want to say? what was appropriate to say? you were rather close to his heart but how did he come across? would an inquiry about your well being be too forward? was a letter at all too forward? friends- no, you didn’t consider him a friend, right? or did you? how did people act around their friends? how did you act around your friends?
he tugged at his gloves, fiddling with the hem nervously. he’d finished most of his paperwork and had intended to take a break by writing you a letter, but… was it even a good idea? he- oh archons, he didn’t even know your address-
diluc crumpled up the paper in one hand, throwing it in the trash with the beginnings of an embarrassed blush on his face. writing a letter and not even knowing where you lived- he could count the amount of proper conversations he’d had with you that had progressed past basic small talk on one hand, and he wanted to write you a letter?
he covered his face with his hands, resting his elbows on his desk. papers shifted beneath him but he didn’t pay attention, his thoughts in circles.
he wasn’t an idiot. he knew exactly why his heart picked up when you were around, why he had to default to more familiar speech to not make an utter fool of himself. the entire reason he’d tried to write you a letter was because he wanted to clarify his behavior towards you, to hopefully build a prior relationship with you instead of learning about you by proxy from your conversations with kaeya. yet, in his hurry to fix what probably wasn’t even broken to begin with—he knew of his reputation, in reality you probably weren’t at all surprised at his inability to make small talk—he’d forgotten the most important detail.
on one hand, he probably could ask kaeya, or poke around in other ways, but that felt disingenuous. if he was going to try and… for now he’d call it making a friendship with you, then he wanted to do it right. of course, he didn’t know exactly what ‘doing it right’ entailed, but… he supposed he’d just have to guess.
diluc had learned a considerable amount in his childhood, yet none of his lessons taught him how to pursue a partner.
diluc swept his cloak around his shoulders, fastening the clasp with one hand and reaching for his vision with the other. with practiced movements, he undid the knot tying it in place, attaching it to the back of his other hand. he hooked his mask onto his belt and closed the door of his room behind him, walking down the stairs quickly.
“be safe, master diluc.”
“master kaeya has kindly informed us that the knights have a patrol for the whispering woods, so it would be wise not to stray too far.”
diluc paused at the door, mentally rearranging his patrol route with a nod. “thank you adelinde, elzer. pass on my gratitude, please.”
he pulled open the door to the manor, walking up the familiar trails and into wolvendom. his vision lit his path as his eyes adjusted, free hand affixing his mask to his face as he walked. since he couldn’t head as far north as he’d like, he’d settle for a loop around windrise and then one in wolvendom. not ideal, but it would have to do.
windrise was lighter than expected. a budding camp of hilichurls here, an abyss mage to the east (thankfully hydro, he’d been on a bad streak with pyro mages for a few days now) and a few slimes that got a bit too close to the merchant trails for his liking.
speaking of the trails, those were clean too. he snuck around springvale, keeping the hand with his vision on it tucked into his cloak to mask its light. hilichurls didn’t hang around this part of wolvendom, so unless he wanted to go shoving through wolf hook bushes for the chance to knock out a camp or two…
he looked between the two paths back to the winery. he could go through the gorge, or the typical way taken by his suppliers. the former was mostly guaranteed to have at least one or two monsters picking about, but it would be better if he cleared his trade routes…
it didn’t matter, in the end. he stepped out from the shadow of a tree, boot barely making contact with the dirt before he picked up the sound of another’s footsteps. heavy, quick, rapidly coming his way-
he summoned his claymore, turning north toward the sound, seeing a figure stumble from the bushes of wolvendom. they were wrapped in a too-thin jacket considering the weather, arm pressed to their chest. details were lost in the darkness, but he could see their head twist, how it snapped to him.
the figure waved with a shout to get his attention, and his heart dropped.
you. what were you doing up so late?
you jogged up to him, clearly out of breath, and he could see that you were holding an armful of unripe wolfhooks. “do.. do you know the way to springvale?”
by the archons, abyss, and celestia above-
“what business do you have there? it’s late,” he said, keeping his voice low. his hands trembled slightly in his gloves, eyes searching your figure for any injury. you had a nick or two on your arm, thankfully not bleeding, but everything else was obscured by shadows. you had clearly been running for quite a while, judging by how harshly you breathed, were you running from something? had you ran into trouble?
“i gotta get back to the city,” you explained breathlessly. “i kinda got lost in the forest.”
“lost?” his hand tensed around his claymore, the action reminding him it was still there. he dismissed it, crossing his arms to try and stabilize himself.
“long story, not worth telling.” you waved your hand, and he could see how it shook a bit. whether from adrenaline or exhaustion (both?) he knew he couldn’t point you toward mondstat in good faith. what if something happened to you? what if he’d missed a camp and you were attacked? you were weakened, tired, and his mind raced with all the potential injuries you could sustain just trying to go home-
“uh, stranger?” your hand waved again, this time to get his attention. “you with me?”
“the city’s too far. you’re better off seeking shelter at the dawn winery just up the road.” what was he saying? “besides, you could be injured, and not be feeling the pain due to adrenaline. let me walk you there.”
his heart hammered against his ribs, every single way you could reject him and then some swirling in his head. he was a stranger to you, you were clearly scared by something, and he directed you elsewhere out of what, selfishness? he knew that springvale was likely closer, that someone would be up and willing to help, and yet he was asking to walk you to the winery?
“are you sure? you don’t have to.”
“i’d rather not send you off when i’m not certain of your safety.” your eyes widened slightly, surprised at the care in his voice, and he forced his tone to flatten before you recognized him. “besides, the staff are friendly and willing to help. they’ll understand.”
you hesitated for a moment, then nodded, holding your wolfhooks closer. absently, he wondered if he had any at the winery. probably not, but he could likely ask-…
in barbatos’ name, how was he going to explain this to the staff?
“alright. lead the way.”
he turned before his expression could change, keeping his steps a bit slower than usual so you could keep pace easier. he wanted you inside as quickly as possible, obviously, but you had clearly strained yourself earlier. going quicker would only hurt you more, and it wasn’t as if there was any immediate threat. even if there was, he was confident in his ability to keep you safe. the trees lining the path were large, wide enough to protect you if trouble came up and he needed to use his vision.
he set aside that line of thinking, sparing a glance at you. you’d switched which arms held the wolfhooks, and in the more open light, he could see the small pricks on your skin where the points dug in. you winced when the fruit resettled, moving one away from your inner elbow, and he stopped walking.
“give me those. you’re hurting yourself.”
“it’s fine, don’t worry about it. we’re nearly there, right?”
“wolfhooks aren’t clean, you could get an infection. you’re supposed to harvest them with a basket and gloves, not carrying them bare armed.”
“you don’t have the thickest clothes either, what’s to say you won’t get hurt?”
diluc searched the small area of the path you were on, trying to find a compromise. his first instinct was to use his cloak, but his hair was tucked into the hood, and that with his silhouette would certainly give him away. his eyes caught on a tear in your jacket, just below the shoulder, and he held out his arms.
“use your jacket as a sling. it’s already torn from the forest, so it’s not the worst loss.”
firm solution, reasonable and immediate justification. he was doing it again, no matter how well it disguised itself as casual speech.
you gave in, thankfully, and he didn’t let the minor pain from the wolfhook’s points show on his face as you removed your jacket. it was as thin as it looked, and he found himself frowning as he helped you stow the berries inside.
still, it wasn’t his business. maybe if he were your friend he could suggest that you purchase a heavier coat, but… you were getting a new one anyway since this one was ruined, so that seemed like a null point to bring up.
he settled your stuffed jacket into your waiting arms, hands lingering for a moment to ensure your grip was stable. “better?” you nodded, and he began walking again. “good. and don’t forget to mention your wounds to the staff, the last thing you want is an infection from… why did you need wolfhooks?”
“bennett asked me to get some for him and his friend… i think razor is his name? but with bennett’s luck, he didn’t want to risk going in himself, so he asked me to help.”
diluc frowned. “why does he need wolfhooks?”
you shrugged. “he offered some mora in return, but i mostly accepted because i felt bad. his luck seems to ruin everything for him, the least i could to was try.”
“even at the risk of your own health?”
“the things you do for friends, you know how it is.” his hands twitched at his sides, curling into loose fists. did he? “but what about you? why are you out here?”
he thought over his answer carefully, mixing various bits of his typical sentences to craft a half-truth. it was getting easier, he noticed, but put that thought aside just as quickly as it came. “wandering, doing my part to keep the area safe.”
“that’s noble of you.”
it wasn’t. would you believe the same if you knew how selfish he was in his desires? he kept mondstat safe for himself, so that he could rest knowing he’d done what he could—he patrolled not out of some moral righteousness, but because it made him proud to know that he’d chipped in to the city’s safety, that he was handling threats the knights didn’t, that he could keep his staff, his brother, his life, keep you-
“have you considered joining the knights? i’m certain there’s some night patrols, and it would surely be nice to have backup.”
he almost responded, almost said that he was in the knights, at one point, before he remembered where he was. who he was. to tell you that would be too much, too much information and too much for you to identify him with.
when did he become so loose with his words? normally he was so uptight around you… was it the fact that you didn’t know he was him right now? did.. he seriously operate best under anonymity? archons, how weak was that, to only be able to say what he meant when you didn’t know anything? was he that socially inept? so desperate for a proper conversation that he’d nearly slipped a major part of his life to you, just based on an offhand comment? how pathetic was he?
he forcefully shut down that line of thought and grit his teeth, well aware it had been too long since you’d spoken. “i’ve considered it. it’s not for me.”
not an entire lie, at least.
you were silent, and he knew he’d ruined the atmosphere. crystalflies fluttered in the trees, lazily flapping through the air, but he couldn’t appreciate their beauty like he typically could. the walk all the way down to the manor was spent in silence, and aside from a minor stumble you had on a jutting rock, it was as if he was walking back on his own, as he typically would. he even began to reach for the doorknob, then caught himself and used the knocker instead.
it was weird. he knew the door wasn’t locked, yet he waited for footsteps to approach the door, seeing elder’s worried face greet him. “master diluc, are you-?”
elzer’s eyes found yours, a tiny hint of shock crossing his face before he settled it back into the same polite smile he always used when greeting guests.
“ah, my apologies. i wasn’t expecting visitors at such a late hour.”
diluc bowed his head in what he hoped came off as a thankful action. “my apologies for disturbing you.”
he explained the situation as swiftly as possible, elzer urging you towards adelinde to treat your injuries. the medical supplies were just inside, near to the door for the sake of diluc’s own health.
“and what of you, stranger?” elzer asked, a bit louder than necessary. “will you be staying?”
diluc sees you look up, understanding clicking in an instant. “no, i won’t,” he answers, “but i thank you for your hospitality.”
elzer reached for the coatrack, pulling down two, both his and diluc’s, keeping the door propped open and passing him his where you couldn’t see. “then let me walk you to the edge of the vineyards, in exchange for your chivalry.”
“it’s alright, thank you. have a nice night.”
“the same to you, stranger.”
the door closed, and diluc relaxed, clutching his coat close as he turned away from the manor.
that was too close. he shouldn’t have suggested to bring you here in the first place, and thank the gods that elzer was so quick on his feet. he’d completely forgotten that he would have to return to the manor as diluc at one point in his rush to get you here.
he ducked behind a tree at the edge of the winery, exchanging his cloak for his jacket. he folded it neatly, stowing his mask and gloves inside. he didn’t have his usual clothes on, but… he could make do. he’d lied before, he’d lie again… even to you.
his grip around his cloak tightened. especially to you. you had no business in his shady practices, in what he did in the dark. it was impossible to keep you entirely safe and sheltered, nor was that healthy or his place to do, but he could at least keep his darkness from encroaching upon your light.
by the time diluc returned to the manor, you had already been sent on your way to a guest room. blessedly, neither adelinde nor elzer were in the front room to make a remark to him about it, likely busy with other work or asleep themselves. he locked the door and hung up his coat, heading up to his room after a swift double check of the first of those facts.
he went about his night, changing into sleepwear and setting his boots by his bed, his vision on his nightstand. it was admittedly a little more difficult falling asleep than usual—were you comfortable? did you like the guest room?—but he managed, waking up with the sun. his routine was the same, but when he arrived at the bottom of the stairs, he paused, looking up at the guest rooms. it… was strange, to know you were here. he felt like he should be doing something, whether saying goodbye or good morning or-
he looked away and shook his head. or nothing. he wasn’t as close to you as you were to him, how did he keep forgetting that?
“is there a problem, master diluc?”
he turned, seeing adelinde setting down his breakfast on the table. “nothing at all, and thank you for the food. did you sleep well?”
“i was a bit late in going to bed, a strange guest brought us some worry.”
he smiled at the pointedness to her tone, “really? how odd, to have a visitor so late.”
her mouth opens, but another speaks before she does.
“sorry if i caused any trouble.”
he paused. blinked. took a moment to register the fact that he just heard your voice in his home.
then he turned, attempting a smile. “it’s alright. your being here is unexpected, yes, but not unwelcome.”
you had clearly just gotten up, clothes rumpled and pillow creases along your hands. you nod, stepping closer, and he grasps for any viable threads of conversation.
“is the manor to your liking?”
“it’s beautiful.”
pride bloomed in his chest. “i’m happy to hear it. come sit, have some breakfast.” adelinde excused herself with a bow and he moved to pull out a chair for you, praying the action looked as natural as it felt. you accepted with a smile, and he pushes you in with relief in his when he sits. “she should return shortly with your food, apologies for the delay.”
“it’s fine,” you said, looking around the main room. he tries to find something else to talk about, already feeling the awkward silence set in, but fumbles. the last time he had someone at his table was with the traveller for the weinlesefest, and they and paimon mostly carried the conversation along. he only ever heads business discussions, or staff meetings, or interrogations, and this was certainly none of those.
“are you alright?”
he blinked away his frown, realizing too late he’d been glaring at his cup of grape juice. an instinctual response rose to his tongue, but he hesitated. maybe it was the early morning hour, maybe it was the genuine concern on your face, maybe it was the light of dawn streaming in from the windows that fell across you so delicately, as if it knew how beautiful you were.
he discarded that response, but exchanged it for another. “are you? adelinde told me you were injured.”
a lie. he hadn’t spoken with anybody about your injuries. archons, was this worse?
your smile grows. apparently not? “just a few scrapes,” you say, lifting your arm to show where adelinde bandaged you. “wolfhooks are a lot sharper than they look.”
“wolfhooks?”
you waved a hand. “i needed some for bennett, long story. don’t worry, adelinde gave me a basket for them.”
“that’s good to hear.”
and just like that, the topic was exhausted. did he bring up something else? how much was too much? what was even an appropriate topic? what did the average person talk about? not that you were average, he’d never dare-
he’s talked himself into a corner in his own head. how in teyvat did that happen?
“you’re frowning again.”
“my apologies, i’m lost in thought.” he was quiet for a moment, then continued, “a problem i’ve encountered before is more prevalent now.”
…it wasn’t the most eloquent of phrasing, but it should do.
“do you want to talk about it?”
does he? how would he even put this into words that didn’t make him sound… is pathetic the word?
‘i can’t talk right around you because i’m not used to talking with someone that does so in good faith’? yeah, that’s something a well-adjusted adult says.
“i don’t have the words for it,” he decides. “the words…” he takes a quick glance at you to gauge your reaction but regrets it just as fast, whatever he had to say next vanishing into thin air. it’s unfair, really, how pretty you are, his eyes fixed to yours. “t-they-“
adelinde set your plate down in front of you, blessedly saving him from the situation. “thank you for your patience. please let me know if anything is unsatisfactory.”
diluc grabs his cup as you thank her, turning away to hide behind the grape juice. he can’t even really taste it, focused on how clumsily he had spoken. were he anywhere else he’d surely be laughed out of the room, and he’s certain adelinde’s going to tease him for it later as it is.
“diluc?” he looks over at you again, keeping his gaze quick before he fumbles again.
“what is it?”
too harsh, too cruel, he’s being cold to you again-
“are you busy today?”
he thinks over his schedule. no meetings that he can remember, nor any deadlines. he’d prefer to finish up some forms sooner rather than later, but if you need him for something…
“no, i’ve got time. what do you need?”
“would you like to go to good hunter for dinner later today?”
he can only hope you accept his nod as an answer because between the knowing smile on your face and the bright blush on his, there’s no way he’s getting a word out.

Writing comments for fanfic
tl;dr -- Write one thing you liked about the fic (a phrase or moment) and how you reacted or made you feel! Also, keep it fun! Make no demands of fic authors who write out of love and Owe Us Nothing.
It took me a while to figure out how to write comments. I went through an evolution. There's lots of stuff on how to write stories, probably even giving crit and feedback, but commenting? Not nearly as much. So here's my not so short ramble on writing comments for fic. Includes my Ways of commenting and Tenets of commenting.
Examples here will be T-rated (by AO3 standards) and most are taken from or newly written with specific fics in mind. They are, ahem, almost all Genshin Impact.
Commenting is, I believe, a personal thing. I've been told I have a bit of an enthusiastic presence, so what feels true to you may vary. I also like to write words (can you tell?). And smash keyboards.
Leaving comments is, in fact, effort! But it's also a skill that can be learned and honed. And honestly, I think my fic experience is improved by it. I don't always leave a comment. But, I don't know... that random internet person authored a Whole Thing. For Free (likely). And I just get to read it?? Yeah, I'm going to leave a little appreciation. Just a little snack in return for this fulfilling meal you have fed me.
I also find writing a comment is also a way for me to just bask in a fic a little bit longer, linger in that feeling of oh, wow, this was so good, and I don't want to leave yet. (And then sometimes there's a response, and then I get a bonus dose of nostalgia!)
Ways of commenting
These are roughly ordered by amount of effort required. I would say the comments I leave are a mash up of these, really. There aren't actual hard lines between them.
1. An extra kudos.
Kudos are nice. Knowing the kudos button isn't enough is one layer deeper! Comments like
"Thanks for writing!" "<3" "i mash kudos button but no more kudos come out what's wronnnnggg????" "yay an update!" "this is so good"
Level of effort: slightly more than a kudos.
Honestly, copy-pasteable. Personally, I would always write these out. Somehow, to me, as a commenter, feels more real if I tippy tappy the letters myself even if Author can't tell. It's a nice way to let an author know you're coming back chapter after chapter when we can only kudos once on a fic. I like to leave a little something more, but I still often start or end with this.
2. Fic reaction.
Sometimes a fic just leaves me a certain way. Invoked a particular mood or visceral reaction. So, I let the author know!
"Awww, my heart is warm!" "Jaw on ground. WTF!" "Literal chills." "My eyes are wet. How did that happen?" "This fic is pure comfort." "AHHHHHHHHHHH!" "Heart on floor, smashed." "WHOLESOME!" "This has left me completely feral and ready to punch something."
Level of effort: you need some emotional intelligence or other awareness of you reactions.
As a starting point, was the fic -- wholesome, sweet, chaotic (in a good way), funny, heartwrenching, sad, delightful, shocking, calm, peaceful, I just want a hug now, terrifying, creepy, comedic?
How do you then turn this into a comment? "This was so ___!!"
Honestly, my crutch here is to just keyboard smash. What does it mean? Your guess as good as mine. I'm speechless, and I cannot words properly, but please participate in these Feels I'm having.
3. One detail I like. (My default comment style)
This one covers a lot of scope. If I read to the end of the fic, there's probably something I liked. Maybe
a turn of phrase. "Diluc drinking grape juice like a man chained to an interrogation table. sfjfskkdz" "Bedsheets twisted up like cooked spinach is SO accurate." "Itto-to is such a cute mashup name!" "We have years ahead of us. That was just one day in the past. The feeeeeelllssss" ":) as punctuation" "Barbatos and Nobles as a bookstore. Sdjjsfjdw I love it"
a particular character moment, action, interaction, or dialogue. quote or paraphrase it! "Diluc kicking Childe into the water was hilarious." "Childe is such an adrenaline junkie. I can't believe he would lean out the window while he was driving." "I'm so proud of Zhongli for actually admitting his feelings!"
some specific moment you emotionally reacted to. I've only recently trained myself out of stoic facing through fic. I mean, it's a useful skill, don't get me wrong (especially in public), but it's less useful when it's just me by myself. I now laugh at 3am reading fic, and my life is brighter for it. Comedy fic writers, you are my fave. "Can't get over when Diluc walks in on Kaeya and Childe. AHHHHH!" "Qiqi drying Childe's hair was so sweet!"
Level of effort: you have to actually remember something you liked or reacted to.
The number of movies I watch and number of times someone asks how's my week, and I just stare blankly because I know it was good but don't know anything else? High. So yeah, this isn't trivial.
I've gotten to the point where usually while reading I notice a moment of "wow I love this!" I don't go looking for them (because I want to stay in fic headspace not comment material hunting headspace), and I don't spend much effort trying to remember. If I forget, that's fine. Not like I'm not writing a book review for a grade or anything.
Just, what's a moment you just got to call out? (And bonus, what's your reaction?) Authors out there seem to like to make us feel things. Show them we're just dangling from their puppet strings!
I usually leave comments like this. Just popcorn style, as many things as I remember, whatever comes up as I recall it. I'm aware that sometimes I end up basically quoting a fic back to its author completely out of order interspersed with commentary or keyboard smashes. I'm occasionally embarrassed by how much I'm smashing into their comments, but the reception seems overall positive.
4. Between the lines and spin off thoughts.
Sometimes fic make me think. I mean, canon makes me think, and then people go and make fanworks off of that, so of course I'm bound to run into fic that makes me think. Sometimes the things I notice or think about aren't directly in the text, but implied or spin out thoughts. An interpretation, a mini analysis, or a reflection. Like,
a new thought or take on a character. "Aro-ace Venti! I like this take!" "Please don't break Klee. She's just trying her best to hold all the adults together. Oh no. You've already broken Klee. T_T" "I bet Jean is the only person who could have kicked Diluc's ass, and he really needed it." "Kaeya what are you doooinggg?? Why is he like this???" (An extra note, it's cool to disagree with a character, but not the author. Character did that makes you want to scream? Go for it. Author wrote the character in a way you disagree with? Don't comment. Leave the fic if it bothers you that much.)
noticing foreshadowing or a detail that isn't fully explained / only alluded to. "Is that Scara working at Scarabucks???" "Wait, something about what Venti said makes me think this isn't just a modern day AU ..." "Did that count as a geo construct for the purposes of the contract?"
some sentence or moment somewhere that just hits you in the brain. This one I don't actually know if author's like. On the one hand, I can imagine it being flattering. On the other, maybe it's too personal? I'll usually center these on the characters, kind of like character analysis. "Diluc sharing his anxiety with Kaeya, and that being what made Kaeya look at his own anxiety... really hits. Like, I don't even think Diluc could have said something sooner without Kaeya running, which says so much about how Diluc loves Kaeya. And the fact Kaeya can see this as a mirror of what he's doing and learns something from it. Just. Oof. Wow." "The conversation between Zhongli and Childe is just so real. Like Zhongli is trying so hard but his ass just can't understand Childe just wants him to tell them things and his not telling things is Not Helping even though he just wants to protect the boy!"
Level of effort: some amount of analytical thinking, reflection, or willingness to share when you get sucker punched by words.
This one I absolutely never go looking for, so I don't leave many such comments. When it does come up, it usually smacks me in the face, and I let it (roll with the hit and into the comments). On occasion I am wailing in the comment box when the revelation (like having broken Klee) just dawns on me. Am I Feelings Processing in comment boxes? Uuuhhhhhh, no comment. (Don't mind the lack of delivery on the pun.)
I'd like to think authors appreciate when we reflect back to them we get their interpretation, but I can also imagine it might be a little too much for authors if we get too personal. In which case, sorry. Your work is great! Please take it as my intention to flatter you since you've touched my heart or brain or soul with your words.
5. Craft appreciation.
This one, *head scratches* yeah, I don't often end up here. But sometimes it's not one moment, but something about all the moments, something underlying, or something in the way it was all put together. If I do end up here and write a general statement, I like to point to specific bits that made me think that (which is where I lean back on One Detail I Like). Actually, yeah, usually I use this as flavor to One Detail I Like, but I think it's sufficiently different to pull out separately. It's a writerly meta layer. What falls here?
dialogue. "Your dialogue is so good. I can hear it in in the VA's voice." "I love the contrast between how Zhongli talks and Childe talks."
imagery. "Can't get over the imagery of Childe releasing dandelion scenes. Such a kid!" "Childe sleeping with Tranquil Statlight is just so peaceful."
characterization. "The little nuggets you give characters like Rosaria doing community service at the church for Crimes just gives me life." "I love the way you write Childe. He's so aggressive!"
setting, world building (more for AUs but wow there are some authors good at expanding on canon lore). "Your world building is so cool. Like the abyssal graffiti on the walls?? HNNG!"
writing style. "Your style is very dreamy. <3" "This is genuinely so heartwarming, and yet at the same time what is this underlying feeling of something is wrong????" "I feel like people appreciate the art of comedic one liners but you've got angst one liners. AND THEY SLAY."
pacing, timing. "This fic reads like a high speed express train. It just never stops or slows down!!" "What is this cRaFT! Like. Para 1, comedic. Para 2, thoughtful. Para 3, WHY DO MY HEARTSTRINGS HURT."
use of language. "Using he for POV character and they for the other is LINGUISTICALLY MIND BLOWING." (Please, I want this to catch on more. I do absolutely respect people's pronouns. These fictional characters (and people who have pronoun flexibility)? She and they instead of she and she?? THE CLARITY WE COULD HAVE??!? I'm incredibly greedy for it.)
premise. "Pierro Dad gives me so much life." "The Bachelor but it's Diluc?? Let's go!!"
plot twist, or cliff hanger. "The reveal!!! *screaming*" "I can't believe you would do me like this." (No, I can't in good conscience leave a specific example and give a fic away. Yes, I am thinking of specific fics still.)
Level of effort: be able to map details you like to writer's craft.
Let's not pretend we're here to do crit. Even if we're using writerly words, we are not here to do crit. Well, I am not because I don't believe the comments box is the right time or place for it, but I am happy to lay on the praise and point out the things that worked for me.
Usually, I think it's harder to look across a fic and be like, yeah, the dialogue hit, or this writing style or pacing really does it for me. It's more nebulous. And sometimes it kicks you out of fic reading headspace and into a writerly meta land to notice, so I don't, and I just let the fic wash over me. And if something here strikes me, I will offer my praises. Again, I think it helps to think of this more as an additional kind of One Detail I Like.
Tenets of commenting (and a little of reading)
Okay, so those were some do's, but I also have don't's. These are my boundaries that I keep. Maybe yours are different. I suspect most of these stem from the place, Author did this for free and Owes Me Nothing, so that's the one real tenet. I keep these in mind so that I can keep fic a nice, fun, safe place for me (and hopefully the authors too).
1. I will never ask for updates. I never expect a next chapter.
I've seen enough content creators stressed out and burnt out about putting something out over and over again. I feel for them. That sucks. They probably just started doing it for fun, and now ... The demand and expectation they continue to perform for free? Yeah, it's not going to come from me.
Once upon a time, because of this and a desire to have complete stories, I wouldn't read incomplete fics. I now am The Biggest Fan of incomplete fics. Yes, hang me off the side of a cliff. I will scream at you. And if you don't haul me back up? Well, fine. I'll live. Some other author's got my back. Probably. There's still so much to love between world building, characterization, good moments, jokes -- and you sometimes get the experience of seeing familiar faces screaming at the fic with you update after update. It's precious. It's fleeting. I could go on, but maybe a different day. Back to commenting!
Flip side, as an author, I will say the desire for more is, in one case, why I plan to continue a fic from years ago. I was very firm at the time I would not be extending the one shot, but I guess time changes things, and the fact people were like, I would read more story contributes to that.
So this one is very much a personal tenet. There's some line between I love this so much I want it to continue, and expecting there to be more. Where is it? I don't know. So I just stay away. Surely Author will get I want more if I just say how much I love everything and have commented on their latest chapter. Rather than leave snacks that taste like burn out to some authors, I will focus on other flavors of comments!
2. I will not say what I dislike.
Not my ship? I probably won't read. Not my preferred ship dynamic? Tropes I don't like? Characterization not hitting it for me? Paragraph formatting not doing it for me? I just x out of there, find something I do like. People be writing things for free! Let them have their fun!
If I did read it, snd I stayed, something else must have grabbed my attention. I'll focus on that. Writing style not quite doing it for me but I love the details added to the world? "Wow, the world you flesh out is so complex." No mention about how much of a drag it is to read, because hey, I still read it, and I had reason to not put it down!
3. I will not give corrections.
Authors (and maybe a beta) have put in tremendous effort and time, and to be like, "you missed a typo" or "actually, the canon lore says X" often detracts from the beauty of the shared fic experience. I interpret random grammar and misspeaks and typos in daily conversation and texts all the time. Surely I know enough to employ this skill. And if I figured it out, other readers probably will figure it out too. If I can't, I usually assume the author was too big brain for me and skip merrily along to the next sentence. (And if it's too much for me to handle, I click out.)
Yeah I get it! I get the urge to want to be helpful and contribute to other people's experience! I know that feel! Because, well, I learned this one from experience. I tried once. Watched an author wilt a little when what I wanted was to be helpful. Yeeeaaah, not doing that again.
So, I suspect this often comes off as a little entitled that just by that bit of you say something and kinda underlyingly expect the author to do something about it, and again, Author Owes Me Nothing! Even if the author is asking for a beta, I'd reach out first and make sure they are now in a headspace to be expecting beta thoughts from me.
Wrapping it up
I love fic, the world is rich with it, and I am full of love for authors and their craft. It fills my heart with joy to know I can return a little smile to someone who has let me hop on their ride for free.
It does take effort. Writing comments, turns out, is writing. Writing is a skill, therefore writing comments is a skill. And writing takes practice to improve, so, guess what, writing comments takes practice to improve. Who would've thunk. (Not me, I assure you.)
I've wanted to write this for me for a while, capture what I've learned because I noticed my ability to write comments change over time. Then recently, I was rec'd a fic and told to definitely leave a comment because the author deserves it and I write good comments. Dispatched because I write good comments! Now my commenter feathers are fluffed up, and so I have actually written this. But I definitely didn't start out the comment writer I am today, so I wanted to share that, surprisingly there is a progression path! (Maybe this is only surprising to me.)
I do find commenting adds to my fic reading experience. And I love reading other people's comments. Sometimes other people notice things I didn't or have very cool interpretations, and that is an extra wow right there. (And look at all these other people who like the thing I like!)
And if I leave a comment, sometimes I get a reply! Author noticed my little comment! Extra dose of happy for everyone!
And sometimes, sometimes, (and again I would never expect it, but it is a gift much like fic itself is) an author will write back full of their notes and what they were thinking about writing those moments, and I treasure that so, so much. It's both a delight because of the usual Author saw my effort commenting and I get an extra behind the scenes! The craft behind the craft! (Now how do authors leave good replies? That is still a mystery to me.)
Sometimes I write a lot and then it goes into a black hole, and that's sad. Hmm. I'm pretty sure this is what authors feel when we don't leave comments. Hmm. Guess it's time to write more comments! (Sometimes, like fic updates, replies show up months later, and that's honestly <3)
So, let's go leave some comments and show those authors love and tell them how much they delighted us! Or ... how they smashed our hearts into the ground with angst/no comfort because sometimes that's just what one wants to read.

get well soon, dear!
Includes: Childe, Diluc, Kazuha, Kaeya, Thoma, Albedo, Xiao, Aether, and Tighnari
Genre: Fluff! Established relationships. Gender neutral reader (if I did use she somewhere, just let me know!)
Word Count: 620-660+ for each character (I expected them to be shorter, but I got a little carried away)
Notes: Bullet imagine of how some of the Genshin boys would take care of their sick or unwell lover! Mentions of being sick, not being able to swallow pills so Childe hides them in your food, vomiting is said once in Kazuha’s, you have a stomach bug in Kaeya’s so vomiting is mentioned, etc.
Childe:
We all know this man, despite being a super scary harbinger, can be the perfect house husband. Honestly, the duality of Childe’s personality is probably what drew you in in the beginning.
So, whenever you catch a cold or some other illness while spending some time with him in his home nation of Snezhnaya, you won’t have anything to worry about while you’re under his care.
He’s had to take care of his sick siblings before, so this wouldn’t be his first rodeo. As soon as you complained about a sore throat or when he noticed you shivering despite being under the warmest blankets ever made, your fiancé would step up to the plate of making sure every need you had would be taken care of before you were even aware you needed it.
Childe can cook, so he’s going to whip up all the recipes his mom would make him when he was sick as a kid. He knows that having a sore throat may call for a softer diet, so he’d fix you several hot soups to cater to your ailment.
He’d constantly check how many tissues you had left so you’d never run out and he’d always ask if you were comfortable or if you needed more blankets, another pillow, etc.
(Or someone to snuggle with!!)
(Honestly, you didn’t even have to ask for that, since he was already all over you, peppering kisses all your face as he wished you to get better soon in between each one.)
(No, he didn’t care if he was a greater risk of getting sick now, he was going to do everything in his power to make sure that you had no worries while you were sick.)
If you’re like me and have some irrational fear (which it’s totally not irrational) about swallowing pills, do not fear! Childe’s younger siblings have prepared him for this, too.
At first, the standard answer to solve this problem would be to just dissolve your pills, or crush them up and put them in water. However, after watching you gag from the awful taste one too many times, Childe had to come up with another solution. He had tried to put something sweet in the water to give it another flavor in hopes of overpowering the awful taste of medicine, but it was no use. There had to be another way for you take your medicine without feeling any worse.
He’d come in with Mint Jelly, a dish you secretly loved but didn’t have often. “I thought I’d give you a treat to help you feel better,” he’d shrug, placing the dish on the bedside table while you sat up against the headboard. You were used to him coming in with both your medications and your lunch at the same time, but seeing him with only your lunch piqued your interest.
“Where is my medicine?” you asked, taking the plate and placing it your lap.
“Oh, I thought I’d let you eat this first. It would be better not to have the aftertaste of crushed up pills ruining the taste of one of your favorite foods!”
Of course, the trick to the whole ordeal was that he had hidden your pills inside, hoping that they’d go by undetected and you’d swallow them with no problems. And when you placed an empty plate back on the bedside table and thanked him for such a yummy meal, Childe couldn’t help but feel accomplished.
Unfortunately, he’d have to come clean about his doings and his efforts would most likely be unsuccessful in the future (he could see you looking for them in your food later), but hey, he’s trying, alright!
He just doesn’t want you to be in more discomfort than you have to be :(
Diluc:
If he’s able to, Diluc is going to be by your side every second until you’re feeling 100% better again. This would be in a perfect world, though, and Teyvat is not exactly perfect, so Diluc would be unable to care for you all the time as he wishes he could.
This just means he leaves you in the hands of Adelinde while he’s gone, because he knows that she’ll take care of you in the way that you deserve, no matter what your illness is. She had always done the same for him and Kaeya when they were under her care, so he knew she was more than capable of doing the same for you.
Diluc would have to leave during the day to take care of business elsewhere, and when he’d leave, he’d depart with a promise that he’d return soon (before semi-pleading with Adelinde to make sure you were okay, even though that was completely unnecessary since she was going to, anyway).
Once he came back, though, only you would be on his mind.
Diluc would walk into the Dawn Winery and say nothing to his staff as he headed straight to your shared bedroom, stripping off his coat as he did so. Moco and Hillie would whisper how endearing it was for him to have his attention on nothing else but you – out of his hearing range, of course.
Upon entering the bedroom, Adelinde would grin and give him a summary of what you had eaten, what medications you had, and how you had been feeling while he was away, or the lack thereof, since sometimes you would feel too bad to do much anything but sleep.
With Diluc back, though, you’d be placed back under his loving care. If he still had paperwork to deal with, he’d handle it beside you in bed instead of downstairs in his office as you slept soundly beside him, curled up into a little ball with your head in his lap. This was so he could keep an eye on you, and if you needed him, you wouldn’t have far to go to find him.
He’d cuddle you and read to you since your brain couldn’t focus enough to do that yourself. He’d braid your hair while you slept and would frequently check your fever like a worrying mother since he wasn’t always sure what to do. Seeing his sorry expression whenever he pressed the back of his hand to your forehead always made your heart warm.
If you had a terrible sickness, one that caused your body to ache all over and rendered you miserable, Diluc would put all of his duties on hold to stay with you. There was no way he was going to leave you alone to feel this terribly by yourself. These types of sicknesses would make you cry because of how bad you felt, and it pained your husband to see you in such a state. He’d hold you close under the covers as you shivered from your fever, placing soft kisses on your forehead and whispering comforting words of affection.
And rest assured that if you ever asked him something while you were under the weather, he’d comply immediately. If you asked him to get you a treat (because sweet treats always made things better), he’d already be halfway down the stairs before you could get the rest of the sentence out of your mouth. If you needed another blanket, he’d bring back five. If you needed someone to hold you and talk to you since your sickness prevented you from falling asleep at night – well, that’s a silly thing to ask for since Diluc was already there at your disposal <3.
Kazuha:
You were on your first voyage upon the Crux with Kazuha, courtesy of Beidou peer-pressuring him into convincing you to come aboard for once. She didn’t know much about you, but she could pick up on that you were too shy to ask if you could go on your own.
(Not only was this just allowing her to meet the special someone Kazuha couldn’t stop talking about, but it was also so Kazuha could stop talking about how much he missed you when he left.)
You had been enjoying it for a little bit, until suddenly you disappeared and Kazuha couldn’t find you anywhere. It wasn’t until one of the kids on the ship asked what was wrong with you that he found you in a shady corner, knees pulled up to your chest and your face as white as the snow in Dragonspine. One look at you and he could tell you were seasick. After all, this was your first boat ride. You hadn’t become accustomed to the swaying feeling of being on a ship, so it was expected for you to become this way.
“I was going to tell you I felt bad, but then I thought you’d think I was… I don’t know… stupid,” you murmured, your voice quiet. As soon as you realized that the dizzy feeling you were experiencing wasn’t normal, you had separated yourself from your boyfriend to hide yourself somewhere so as not to worry him, or draw his attention away from what he had been doing.
“I wouldn’t think you were stupid,” Kazuha chuckled, brushing a strand of hair away from your face and tucking it behind your ear. His smile was kind as he took your hands into his. “This is very common, so don’t feel bad. Why don’t we try to find a better spot to rest in, hm?”
“As long as it’s not up there,” you said, pointing up to the crow’s nest, causing him to laugh. You had gone up there earlier with him and that was probably where you began to feel your stomach churn with the waves as you looked upon the sea around you. “No, dove, we won’t go up there.”
You did feel bad for already dampening your trip, and when Beidou asked if you were okay, you felt worse because you thought that maybe she hated you for putting a damper on things. But Kazuha reassured you that nobody was upset with you, and nobody would be upset with you. Everyone gets seasick at some point!
He’d find the perfect spot for you to lounge at, someplace out of the direct sun so you could prevent yourself from getting overheated as that would just make matters worse.
Kazuha would stay with you until you felt better, sitting beside you with an arm around your waist to reassure you that he was there if you needed him. You’d rest your head upon his shoulder and listen to him recite verses of poetry he’d think of on the spot to cheer you up. If you decided that your little spell was over, he’d help you get up and would most likely keep his arm around you while you walked around the ship, just in case you felt sick again.
After your first incidence of seasickness, he wouldn’t leave you alone. The last thing he wanted was for you to vomit or worse, pass out, all by yourself. He knew you too well, first of all; if those things were to happen, you’d probably jump ship out of embarrassment and swim all the way back to Inazuma before anyone realized you were gone. Besides, if something happened to you while he wasn’t there, how was he supposed to take care of you? That was literally his job, after all.
Kaeya:
Kaeya found it very suspicious that he hadn’t seen you around work yet. When he had left that morning, you said you would come in later since you felt nauseous. He didn’t think anything of it, really, since he had just woken up and felt half-asleep still himself. He remembered telling you that he hoped you felt better and to come see him when you arrived before giving you a couple goodbye kisses before he left.
But now at noon, you hadn’t done as he had asked and he hadn’t even seen you around when he made some rounds around the halls. On a normal day, you could be seen walking around the halls, visiting with other knights, or even browsing the books in the library on your off-time, but there had been no sign of you. Concerned, he asked around to see if maybe you were just avoiding him (perhaps he had stolen all the covers from you last night and you were getting payback?). All the knights he had denied seeing you, Lisa sighed and said she hadn’t see you all day, even Klee seemed a bit down that you hadn’t come and given the young girl her daily hug she always received from you. Finally, when he asked the Acting Grand Master if she had seen you only to met with a shake of the head, Kaeya knew something was up.
Once home, the Calvary Captain was met with a quiet house. He noticed your keys were still by the door with other things you’d always take with you when you left the house, so you must still be home. And when he entered your shared bedroom, he discovered you sleeping peacefully. Only, there was a bowl on the floor by the bed and a bottle of medicine on the bedside table.
He didn’t want to disturb you, so he left you, carefully cracking the door behind him so you could have more privacy. He wouldn’t be going back to work, though, since know his duty was to take care of his spouse! Jean would just have to give him a free pass for the day. Husband duties, what can he say?
After being home for a bit, he’d hear you stir in the bedroom before he’d hear the awful sound of you throwing up. He’d immediately come in, surprising you as he asked if you were okay.
“I didn’t know you were home,” you’d state, your voice hoarse as you sat up to view your husband.
“Well, of course. You never showed up to work, so I had come check on you,” Kaeya said, coming to take the bowl you had thrown up in to dump it out in the sink. “I thought maybe you were just mad at me for stealing the blankets last night.”
You’d grin before saying that you must have a stomach bug since you had been throwing up all day. Kaeya wasn’t exactly an expert on how to care for a sick person, but he did know that you probably needed to stay hydrated considering what was going on. On top of making sure you always had water at the ready, he would frequently check if you needed anything else. However, you were mostly asleep so there wasn’t much you asked for.
But he was still there, just in case!
“You know,” you started after Kaeya handed you dinner-in-bed, “you’re probably going to get this, too.”
The cryo user scoffed, rolling his eyes a bit. “What, no way,” he sarcastically said, smiling a bit. “I guess that means you’ll just have to take care of me when the time comes,” he sighed, placing a soft kiss on the top of your head.
He really didn’t mind, though. He’d risk getting sick a thousand times over and over again just to make sure you were given the best care while you were sick.
After all, those are his husbandly duties!
Thoma:
You had gone to bed one night feeling a bit more tired than usual, but you had just chalked it up to be that maybe you had worked harder than you normally do. However, when you woke up the next morning with a pounding headache and a burning fever, you knew that it was more than just you being tired – you were sick.
“Oh, dear,” Thoma cooed after pressing the back of his hand to your forehead. “You’re burning up, y/n. You must have caught that cold going around.”
Just like Childe, we all know Thoma is also a house husband, which means he’s going to dote on you all he can and give you the best care while he’s at it!
You continued to lay in bed while your husband fished through cabinets and drawers looking for any medications that might help you feel better. He came up partially successful, bringing you some medicine that would help relieve your headache. He got you a glass of water and watched you take them before asking if you wanted to join him at the Kamisato estate while he worked so he could keep an eye on you while also working.
You politely declined, explaining that you’d rather not risk the chance of getting anyone else sick and you saw how disappointed your lover was. His green eyes were filled with concern as he thought about his options for the day. His upmost priority was you, since you weren’t feeling well in the slightest and it wasn’t in your best interest to be left all alone. Besides, if Thoma had to miss a day of work for this, he was sure the Kamisato siblings would understand and not berate him.
“Well, I guess I’m all yours today, then!”
He’d fix you yummy, comfort foods to make your miserable sickness more bearable. He kept a very close eye on you, keeping track of every symptom as it came and went and also the exact minute you took your medications. This wasn’t exactly hard for him to do, since ninety percent of his time was spent in bed with you, holding you close as you trembled from your fever.
You’d try to tell him to go elsewhere in the house since you knew he wouldn’t leave altogether, because you didn’t want him to get sick, too. But he didn’t mind! All that mattered to him was that you were taken care of and given the treatment you needed while you were under the weather. He knew he’d probably get sick, anyways, but that would have to dealt with when it came.
When he had to run an errand, whether it be to get more medicine or pick up ingredients to make another dish for you, he’d make sure you were okay before he ran off. This meant that he’d tuck you under the covers tightly, making sure you were comfortable and weren’t in immediate need of anything since he wouldn’t be back for little bit. Thoma didn’t want you to get up and tire yourself out over something while he wasn’t there.
Yes, he knew you could take care of yourself, but you were sick! This was not the time to show your independence! Let him take care of you like he was made to do <3
(If you tried to get up and get something yourself, Thoma would lightly scold you and tell you get back in bed while he took care of what you needed. “You’re supposed to be taking it easy while I take care of you! You need to rest so you can get better!”)
At night when you’d finally fall asleep since your pounding headache made it hard to, Thoma would stay awake in case you woke up and needed him. But, after a long day and making sure the love of his life had every need of theirs met, he too would drift off to sleep, holding your body closely to him.
Albedo:
You were one to keep working, despite any ailments or injuries trying to hinder you from doing so. So, when you showed up at the Chief Alchemist’s lab in Dragonspine, all he could do was sigh when he saw your sorry state before guiding you to the fire he had built and instructing you to stay there while he found you something to help you feel better.
“So, despite having a burning fever and being barely able to breathe, you travelled all the way here just to bring me these little vials?” Albedo asked, stripping himself of his jacket and wrapping it around you as you sat on one of the chairs around the fire.
“Sucrose said you needed them, but she was busy at the moment and wouldn’t be able to bring them to you,” you explained, hugging his jacket closely to you. “I thought I could help.”
You heard your boyfriend hum as he searched for the medicine he was looking for. “I appreciate the thought, but I can’t see Sucrose letting you get away with that.”
“She didn’t,” you said before coughing. “I took it while she wasn’t watching since she said she wouldn’t allow me to because I’m sick.”
Albedo, grinning a bit at the thought of you doing that, came over to you, holding out the medications you needed to help ease the discomfort you were experiencing. “I gathered as much. I hope you’re okay with staying here for the rest of the day, because you’re not leaving until I do.” Before you could interject, he added, “And you’re not sneaking out while I’m not watching, either.”
Albedo wasn’t exactly doting on you the whole time you were in his lab. He left you to your own devices by the fire most of the time, only coming over to give you medicines when it was time and to press his hands to your forehead to see how your fever was doing. While he was at his desk, though, he’d occasionally ask over his shoulder how you were feeling and if you needed anything. If you stated that you were feeling hungry or cold, or needed something else, he’d get up immediately from his workbench and fulfill your needs with no complaints.
What you didn’t see was his anxious glances toward you every ten seconds, making sure you weren’t dead or doubled over in the fire. Even if he wasn’t at your feet begging to be given some sort of instruction on how to care for you while you were sick, that didn’t mean he wasn’t worried about you.
However, when you had fallen asleep without him knowing and he turned to see you on the ground curled up into a little ball, he had to admit that you gave him a bit of a scare. Despite being in the middle of something, he dropped what he was doing and rushed over to make sure you hadn’t kicked the bucket while he wasn’t watching. Discovering that you were just sleeping, though, he took the time to make you a small cot and moved you to that instead of the stone floor of the lab.
Next time you decided to pull something like that, though, he’d appreciate you telling him you were just laying down since the chair was too uncomfortable to sleep in.
If you were still asleep when he decided his work for the day was done, Albedo would probably make the decision to stay in the lab for the night with you instead of waking you up to go back home. He had plenty here to take care of you, but in the morning he was taking you back home, even if he had to carry you.
Xiao:
Xiao never had any reason to understand why humans get sick, how to care for them when they are sick, or what to do when they do get sick. He himself could not experience this phenomenon and as far as he was concerned, he would never have anything to do with humans so why would he need to take the time to learn about human sicknesses and the like?
Of course, that all changed when he came back after a short, two day departure and found you in one of the worst states he could ever imagine. If you weren’t so sick, you probably would’ve laughed and asked to take his picture when you saw the, well, appalled expression he wore when he saw you. Quite frankly, the first thought he had was that you were dying, but you didn’t seem like you were dying, so the poor adeptus was just very, very confused.
The day Xiao left, you had woken up with a terrible headache and luckily, you were close to Verr Goldet so when you hadn’t greeted her at your usual time that morning, she knocked on your door to check on you. Instead of finding you oversleeping, though, she found you feeling miserable with a fever through the roof.
When Xiao came back though, you seemed to be at the height of your ailment, with the same fever, but with body aches and chills, as well as a cough that surfaced every now and then. You felt so bad, you were close to tears and upon seeing you in such a sorry state, Xiao realized he was actually worried about a human for one of the first times ever.
“Why didn’t you call for me?” he asked quietly, stepping toward you cautiously as he tried to understand what was going on. Despite being in your room at the Wangshu Inn, he felt like he was in a new place altogether, trying to get a grasp of this new environment.
“Because,” you started through a fit of coughs, “I’m just sick. There’s not much you can do about it.” And that was the truth of the matter and Xiao understood that because unlike demons and monsters, Xiao can’t exactly beat your sickness to death and make you feel better.
Still, he wishes he could do more.
He just feels so useless seeing you writhe in pain in bed while he just has to stand there and watch you. If this was any sort of mortal danger, he could take care of you in a heartbeat. Alas, not everything had a simple solution.
So, in an effort to try to take care of his lover, he’d carefully watch Verr Goldet’s actions when she’d come in to help prepare your medicine. It didn’t take long for him to pick up on it, so the next time she came in, she’d find Xiao doing it for her.
His hands were always careful. He’d gently caress the skin of your forehead while you slept, inwardly grimacing at how warm you were. He had watched Verr Goldet place cold rags on you to help, so he’d gently lay them on your head and if you stirred, he’d mentally curse himself for disturbing you. He had heard the inn keeper say that you getting lots of rest was important to your recovery and he didn’t want to prolong your suffering by waking you.
He still wasn’t used to affection and showing his love for you, so while you slept he’d keep watch over you from the window, ready to help you at a moment’s notice in the event that you needed it. While you were awake, he’d talk to you quietly or sit on the end of the bed to keep you company.
After watching you go through this, he was definitely ready for the next time it happened. (Though, after seeing how dreadful it was, he hoped that there wouldn’t be a next time.)
Aether:
Normally, you were always up for a new adventure every day. In fact, it wasn’t uncommon for you to wake up before Aether, bursting with excitement of a new day to discover new people and places.
Today was not one of those days.
You did wake up early (not before Aether, though) and you started off strong, but almost as soon the journey for the day began, you felt awful.
A pounding headache pulsated in your cranium and you felt sluggish as you walked down the dirt path with your blonde lover and his floating companion.
“Paimon thinks something might be wrong with y/n,” Aether’s companion whispered to him, causing him to stop and realize how bad you were lagging behind. He could hear you heaving for breath as you tried to keep up, which was very uncharacteristic of you. Seeing how pitiful you looked, he ran to catch up with you and just in the nick of time to catch you before you collapsed.
“What’s wrong with them?” Paimon asked, watching Aether anxiously lay you down in the grass in a comfortable position. “I don’t know,” he responded, seeing how out of it you seemed, though something told him you were just sick and your body needed to rest instead of go on any new adventure for the day.
“Y/n,” he cooed, gathering things from his inventory that might help you feel better. “Are you okay? What’s up?”
“My head hurts,” is all you could mutter, causing the boy to look upon you sadly but endearingly. “Don’t worry, love, I’ll take care of you.”
“And Paimon!” Paimon interjected, placing her hands on her hips.
With all the plants and other things Aether had collected over his journeys, he had plenty of things that could potentially help you feel better. The only thing was that he wasn’t exactly sure where to start. Him and Paimon would go through everything, trying to recall what they had seen or heard others using, like Tighnari or Baizhu. While this was going on, Aether kept his hand in yours, reassuring you that he wouldn’t be leaving you to face this alone.
The verdict ended up being that neither Aether nor Paimon had any clue as to what to use to help you, but what they could do was make sure that you took it easy for the rest of the day! That being said, Aether hoisted you up into his arms and walked back to the inn you three had been staying in to ensure that you wouldn’t have to wither away under the hot sun like a parched plant. All the way there, he’d murmur little statements of his love for you and how he’d make sure you would feel better in no time.
Once back, he got you tucked back into bed under the soft covers of the inn’s room with a promise of being beside you the whole time. He was as your disposal, so whatever you needed or wanted just let him know! He’d want to cradle you and braid you hair while you laid there pitifully, but he didn’t want to disturb the rest he knew you needed.
Instead, he settled for sitting in the bed beside you, to be near but also not distracting you from sleeping. Even Paimon would be careful of talking too loud or causing any ruckus in the room. They both really care for you and wanted to ensure that you’d be feeling better so you could join them once again!
Even if you did feel 100% better the next day, Aether would probably still be worried and suggest that you two just have one more day of rest before you went out again. “Just think of it as… a cuddle day! Yeah, a cuddle day.”
Who were you to complain about that?
Tighnari:
Being sick? Around Tighnari? Who better to be around when you’re under the weather?
This time, though, it was sudden, taking the both of you by surprise.
First of all, you hadn’t seen the forest watcher all day, since he left before you woke up and when he came back, he was instructed not to disturb you since you had some work to get done.
And it wasn’t because you were incapable of getting any work done with him around, but more often than not, you would find yourself getting distracted and giggling with him rather than completing any tasks you had at hand. Today, though, you needed to complete some data sheets for the research team you were working with before you could find Tighnari and bother him with his work.
It was a little after lunch time when Tighnari heard quick footsteps approaching him. “Master Tighnari!” Collei exclaimed, rushing to meet him, her voice urgent. “I was sent to tell you that-”
“Y/n seems to be sick,” another forest watcher ended. He was part of your research team and he was the one to find you sniffling over your work. “And she won’t stop working even though we told her to take a break.”
Tighnari sighed, though he wasn’t annoyed. This was very like you. “Alright, let’s see what we can do.”
As expected, you immediately tried to say that you weren’t sick, but your congested voice, runny nose, and cough begged to differ. “I have to finish this,” you managed to choke out before being sent into another coughing fit. You tried to slap your boyfriend’s hands away as he reached for your papers, only for him to gently push yours away as a response.
“Well, I’m sure someone else can finish it while you’re out of commission,” Tighnari answered, quickly gathering up your notebooks and papers and handing them off to Collei who gave them to one of your research partners. He placed a hand on your arm and gestured off in the distance toward his home. “Let’s go get you some medicine so you can start feeling better.”
Obviously, since you were with Tighnari, you were going to be given the best treatment the forest could give you. After he gathered some plants and herbs that would begin to help you feel better, he instructed you to lie down and take it easy. With how congested you were, it was hard for you to doze off at first, but Tighnari kept you company until you did. When you finally passed out, he stayed outside the door so he would still be close in the event that you needed him, but he wasn’t directly hovering.
He’s going to be strict with your medicines and healing regimens. The medicine tastes bad? He’s sorry and he’ll try find something to make it better, but you’re not getting out of taking it. You don’t feel like eating? He understands, but you need to, so he’ll make you easier dishes to eat.
But he’s definitely very caring and loving to you the whole time. At night when you can’t sleep, he’ll hold you for a while until you drift off. He’ll play with your hair and pepper kisses on the top of your head while you rest. If he’s out of the house and hears you call for him, he’ll immediately drop whatever he’s doing and check on you and he’ll 100% bring you whatever you’re asking for.
(Unless it’s your work, then you might as well forget about it.) (You probably won’t be seeing it again until you’re feeling 100% better.) (If you convince someone else to get it for you, he will personally fight them for complying knowing you were in no shape to work.)
“Do you really think you’re in the shape to write out all your research? And if you are, do you think the Academiya wants your papers covered in snot?”

GENSHIN SAGAU Headcanons
hopping on because @mirology explained lmao, why HCs only? too lazy to write rn, ill do it tmrw or some other day, this is the old SAGAU btw, not the one wherein they're the creator n shi
Genre: Fluff
the characters become concerned with how much space the game is taking up so nahida ends up tampering with the code so you have more storage
rlly appreciates the fact that you still do your commissions and farm despite it being 1am alr, especially since you have school/work
you have more crystalflies than usual, not that you notice, but diluc collects the ones at dawn winery for you, albedo collects the ones he comes across in dragonspine and in general, they all just, collect the crystalflies they see
they argue about who deserves the good weapons lmao: beidou subtly flaunts her feats when the claymore users talk abt it, diluc acts like he's done with em but he also acts like he's most deserving of it, eula is indifferent but when they try taking hers, she gets defensive, you gave it to her, why do they get a say in it?. Meanwhile, itto is ranting abt how he obviously deserves it, chongyun is just silent but he does want the weapon too, dori is rich enough to buy anything, xinyan wants it too and sayu is just, tired why claymore? i love claymore
they're concerned abt your health, have you seen how tired you look? they wanna be able to take care of you irl :(
they send their letters even if you don't manage to log in, it's okay, they understand but don't leave them for too long
if you're rlly busy, you still try your best to play, they really love that
you always win the 50/50 or get them and a standard five star character
somehow, your mains rarely come home tho, esp(especially) if they're a four star. like, you've got the others c6 but they're still like, below c3, they're rlly sorry but they can't tamper with their drop rate like the five stars can :( chongyun main here : chongyun was so frustrated with himself when he didn't come home with shenhe to you, he didn't come home, not even once
eventually, when they found out how to watch you from outside the app, they took advantage of that: they save you from rlly awkward situations by playing your ringtone hehe, they're also capable of calling the police if you're in a shit situation
they like to remind you abt stuff you have in your to-do list
the harbingers, including the fatui and tsaritsa, were a bit.. eh with you, at least, until they heard you talk abt them, you wanted to pull for them?? meet them in game?? YOU WERE EXCITED FOR THEM?? HUH? wow, they felt shocked and maybe a bit flustered,, just a bit
man, they rlly wanna taste the food you have in your world, esp xiangling, the food looked rlly nice okay? oh and if you're bad at cooking, ei relates dw, even benny is astounded by how bad it is tbh
zhongli is embarrassed to hear you rant abt how often he talks when he's idle, childe actually teases him abt it no, we won't talk abt how people ship em, they're actually a bit.. eh abt that, like cmon, haven't people heard abt platonic relationship?
benny actually feels really upset when you get bad drops or artifacts and he's in the team, tho the others depending on who they are reassure him that the drops are even more bad occasionally even without him
okay, even without you having that five star, you've got their sig dish, like wha-
you like their clothing? man, they wish they could give you some of their clothes, they'll try their best to bring you into teyvat, besides, your world is shit anyways-
okay so, for context, i copied zhongli's red eyeliner thing and modified it to suit me if you copy their makeup look and you like it, they feel so flattered, they're so smug abt it too ahdajkdbkf
if you cosplay one of them, they're gonna B R A G, i mean bro, cosplaying takes so much effort okay

Mod’s Crush Competition Bonus Round - Genshin Impact
So...I got invested in Genshin Impact during the time I was running the Crush Competition and it's no secret that this game has a bunch of attractive characters so here's a bonus poll with the ones I like.
Disclaimer that I do not play the game (as of now) so some of the things I say may be incorrect about their character. This is from a mostly outsider perspective. I also listed in order of who I like from most to least.
Alhaitham
I read ONE Alhaitham fic and I end up in the Genshin hole
No man should be this smart and hot. Don’t make my standards higher.
That’s why he’s kind of a jerk. To balance it out a little more.
At first, I thought he was just some smart guy and then I watched his demo where he uses his sword and just, like, I’ve fallen so hard for this man
Did not know how to pronounce his name at first
Silver/gray hair
Wriothesley
Someone at anime club asked what man tiddies were and our president searched this man up (and then Alhaitham)
I just adore everything about his design and aesthetic
I think Genshin has shown me that big coats/capes are kind of attractive
The gray/white streaks with black and icy blue eyes
His gauntlets are so cool
I listen to the hour loop of his theme
Albedo
I commonly refer to him as Alfredo
Alchemist and an artist? Okay
He’s very pretty
Has an evil clone???
Baizhu
Also very pretty
Long hair
Being a doctor comes with the assumption that you are smart
His voice is very soothing
I watched his demo and he's also really nice
Snek
Tartaglia
I was so confused because at first I thought Childe and Tartaglia were different people but couldn't tell them apart. Then, I find out he also goes by Ajax? Pick a lane, buddy.
*sighs* I guess I do like gingers
Scarves are hot too
I don’t get this a lot with crushes but I want to make fun of him at every possible chance.
Diluc
Pretty but I feel like I haven't seen this man smile at all
We're back to long hair
Zhongli
Zhongli's not high on my list but it's just so easy to find him attractive
A god? Power is a little attractive but apparently he's also broke

Note
do u have anything to share with the people about playing genshin with me everything is normal to me idk what bothers everyone
you have like 12 recipes and ur food inventory is abysmal
ur exploration in most areas is 20% or less, and even in mond i think ur highest is 60%? for an area
you have not done any reputation things at all except for when i was on your account and desperate for mora so i did them for you
you have the red exclamation things on every icon bc theres things the game wants you to check so bad you refuse to
you dont usually do your daily commissions
you refuse to read the game tutorials
you have like 20 quests in ur journal and id be impressed its even that low if not for the fact u could go to any city in game and theres so many npcs wanting to start shit
you have yet to do any hangouts
ur only world level 4
you havent even unlocked the camera gadget so i had to watch u try and take pictures inside a domain but bc u couldnt open the menu without leaving u just ended up taking screenshots with the ui and everything
ur teapot is still empty and u wonder why kaeya is getting companion exp so slowly
you didnt know u could craft higher level mob drops at the alchemy stand, you dont know what condensed resin is
you thought there were 20 floors in the spiral abyss
you only recently attempted the spiral abyss after over 2 years playing bc u thought the first 9 floors scaled higher if u leveled up higher
you didnt know about the graphics settings in the menu
you didnt know what the motion blur was
when i watch u fight enemies u dont keep ur camera on the enemies and seem to be shocked when u get surprised by them
you only recently started using healing food after i asked u to
you have like 3 5 star artifacts total
you were leveling an artifact and it kept going to def and i told u to stop and u didnt anyways cuz u dont know what the def stat means
you thought that 4 stars r limited only to the limited banners they appear on
you also thought u could only get diluc from the standard banner
you dont know what the crown of insight is
when in the windblume event shop u were looking at the mailed flower refinement materials and i had to beg u to buy them cuz u thought they were useless
to add onto the previous thing u didnt even know you could refine weapons until like. last week
when u were screensharing windblume and starting the rhythm game thing i told u u could change note speed cuz i know u prefer faster notes but u didnt open the menu and didnt figure out u could do it until several days later
ur werent gonna do the photo aspect of windblume bc u had to do a quest where u talk to a guy one time
when bubbles and u and i were gonna fight azhdaha u instead walked to the geovishap
u will open the domains for talent level up materials and ask me what they r for
u will ask me what u even need the talent level up stuff for and when i have u open the characters talents theyre all level 1
u still havent maxed out any statues of the seven, not even in mond or liyue so u dont have max stamina
u unlocked fishing in an attempt to get the catch for raiden but u still havent even bought the recipes for anything but the default bait
u only have the default namecard and 1 other namecard u got through achievements
when i was screensharing u were asking me what the sigils in my inventory were (the ones u use for a ton of shit in enkanomiya)
didnt realize until yesterday that the 5 stars have orange backgrounds
u were playing yaoyao and kept doing her burst and immediately switching off so it did nothing
i was watching u count ur wish history and i explictly said ur at 80 pity so a ten pull away from a 5 star and a week later u seemingly forgot and wished and were surprised to get a 5 star
u usually dont get the wishes in paimons bargains that reset every month unless i remind u
u thought u didnt get anything from the battlepass unless u paid for it
theres the whole boat thing where u. didnt know boats were in the game. so u just didnt unlock any waverider waypoints. u were icebridging to all the islands in inazuma
tbh im shocked u even finished the tcg tutorial
u thought if u gave characters healing artifacts they would just be able to heal even if thats not in their skill sets
u started the spiral abyss on accident with 2 characters in ur party
thats just what i thought of at the top of my head im sure ill remember more later ^_^ ur welcome taye. i didnt even bring up how u beg me to switch to childe so u can look at his balls

Hello! I'm Q, a fun and admittedly very addicted to Genshin Impact/Genshin, person (She/Her) If you're wanting to learn more about me here's what I offer in a roleplay! I am 21 btw
What I offer
-Novella post writing at least 300 PER character, meaning if I'm playing at least 3 characters expect for me to write 900 in a post if not more. (Please note I usually average around 400-600 per character, but I always list my lowest)
-Willing to provide writing examples for those interested to see if we'll mesh or not
-DOUBLES UP, this means that I am willing to scratch your back if you scratch mine. You want someone to play Alhaitham or Childe for you I can play them if you play X or Z for me!
-Capable of depicting a vast array of characters, from the crazed to the innocent.
-Preference for Discord for RP, I don't use Tumblr enough to know how to maneuver its mechanics.
-Writes 3rd person, responds relatively quickly to RP posts with waits being no longer than a week in a half unless otherwise stated.
What I'm looking for in a partner
-IS 18+ NO EXCEPTIONS, MINORS DNI
-Matches my writing capabilities + mirrors my length if possible (Understand short replies every now and then, but I absolutely will not stand for weightless paragraphs or one-liners. Just not my thing, please understand!)
-Is willing to provide a writing example to ensure that we're a good fit.
-Is willing to brainstorm! This is a BIG thing, plus would be even cooler if they are capable of accepting "but what if this?" add ons too!
-Understanding that if a reply isn't up to standard or does NOT have a desirable outcome for either my side or yours, that we can BOTH be able to say "Hey I know you had a vision with this, but I can't really add my own vision to this, can we maybe brainstorm to figure out how to better work your reply without stealing your agency or removing a characters personality" (I get into the brain of my character while writing, trust me I have fifty fucking ways for a character to respond or react to a situation, I have no problem reworking something if it's needed LMAO, hell I'm usually the first that will ask "Hey is this really the desired outcome you want or do we want to make rethink things and brainstorm together?")
-IS OKAY WITH POLY SHIPS AS ALL MY SHIPS ARE POLY SHIPS!!! AS WELL AS M/M COTNENT AS THAT WILL BE A THING IN THE POLY SHIPS
-Is alright with smut/erotic rps (Does not have to be the main plot, just something that happens every now and then)
Who I can play
Experience writing them in long-term rps: Childe (<My most experienced muse of mine), Xiao, Albedo, Itto, Shenhe, Diluc, Thoma, Kaeya
Those who I feel comfortable writing, but might not have much experience with: Alhaitham, Kaveh, Ayato, Wrio, Scaramouche, Lisa, Yae, Jean, Ningguang, Cyno,
If you don't see who you'd want me to rp as there, just feel free to ask! I uh, admittedly didn't feel like writing everyone. LMAO The only ones who I won't do romantic relationships with are the child-like characters this means any character on a child model like Dori or Diona (actually how fucking old are those two???) One could argue that Bennett and Razor are children as well, but I'm a little more lenient and will be fine with aging them up or making them look more grown.
Please note that I like to put research into a character (meaning I can almost assure you that anyone on or off this list will have their bios read, any unfinished quests finished, and so on), and while I don't necessarily expect my partner to do the same, I do expect them to at least put effort into portraying a character as accurately as they can.
Who I'm seeking a partner to play
Bold is who I am seeking my partner to play, the oc and unbolded character will be the ones I am playing. Unless otherwise stated these are closed Triad relationships.
Zhongli x OC x Azhdaha
Scaramouche x OC x Childe
Kaveh x OC x Alhaitham (NO PREFERENCE FOR CANON CHARACTER PLAYED)
Neuvillette x OC x Wriothesley
Tighnari x OC x Cyno
Itto x oc x Gorou
Kaveh x oc x oc
I might have other ships so if for some reason you can't find anyone you can play, let me know and maybe we can work something out!
