#difference is - in my interpretation anyway - that the doctor Would hate herself if she wiped yazs memories

was putting this in tags but i dont need to fill peoples tags with wolf359 stuff they dont care about but i keep thinking about maxwell and the idea that she has so little problem changing heras memories or erasing the bad ones bc she has some bad memories of her own she would love to erase

and this uneven but sort of....viable? relationship between hera and maxwell. they get each other in a way nobody in their respective environments has the ability to, i think, but also maxwell just has so much power there. the power to Fix hera, to make her stop hurting, the power to turn her into a dummy program, erase her memories, her personality

not all the power is maxwell’s of course like the things she teaches hera gives hera power in return (!!! thats the doctor and yaz too) and we also never got to see where that relationship couldve gone (not in canon anyway)

and i do believe that 100% the doctor has the best intentions with yaz and she has no conflicting loyalties like maxwell she would never betray yaz in the same situation in the same way that maxwell did hera

but also similar to maxwell i think that the doctor’s best intentions might not line up with what other people would consider the best for them. definitely wouldnt line up with what yaz thinks is best for herself

but thats the power the doctor has. this is what they always have. “im sending you home to keep you safe” and “im wiping your memories to keep you safe” arent that far apart

heras total trust in maxwell. “no no i trust her i trust her dr maxwell would NEVER mess with my head, she understands better than anyone HOW MUCH of a violation that would be. she would hate herself” and hilbert being like “thats exactly what she wants you to think”
