My new obsession on Netflix right now, La cocinera de Castamar (The Cook of Castamar). Although yes the actors are Spanish and they have English actors dubbing over. But once you see beyond that it is enjoyable to watch. I do also understand that it won't be to everyone's taste.

To everybody else, they’re the Duke and his cook ... to each other, they’re Diego and Clara.
Nothing more, nothing less.

What are the things of the cook of Castamar that you liked the most?
I love the respect overall and the fact that they try in their own way to be there for each other despite their differences.
I loved the fact Diego made it clear from the start he wouldn't use his position to abuse her, and that Clara is a benevolent strength in her world.
I loved the fact that since rumbelle, they're the first couple in which I could see they loved each other. Their chemistry is out of this world :)
I loved that Diego comes like "I need to talk to Miss Belmonte about this." Everyone leaves the room and Diego doesn't mention whatever "this" is.
And they just work together and they worry for each other, and it's just magnificent ! And the rabbit !

Ah sorry for that first picture !
And the aging system is decided by how many days a year is. In the official rules of the ultimate decades challenge it is 4 days. With me I use 2-3 days. Like from Monday- Wednesday is a year, Thursday and Friday is a year and Saturday and Sunday is a year. It works with the aging of the small children.
Sometimes I make background characters that are characters from books or series. Like now I have made Diego de Castamar and Clara Belmonte from The Cook of Castamar since their story takes place in the 1720’s. I love to see if my sims interact with them.
Yes Crumplebottom deserved it. She made sure everyone knew who the witches were. And yet she is an immortal herself? Who is the witch here huh, Crumplebottom?
Welcome back to my history challenge!
It is 1705.
Pirates are spawning everywhere, mostly in Brindleton Bay where Dawnflower lives with her uncle Ambrosius. One day, they attack the house to set fire and cause chaos. Ambrosius perishes in the flames.
Dawnflower is now all alone, only at age 13.
She decides to be strong. She has a lot of animals to care for and takes comfort in them.
She is very young, but she is capable of living on her own.
Her childhood friend Love is a great comfort as well in these dark times. He lets her meet his parents. His mother Mikayla recognizes her own childhood friend in Dawnflower and is determined to help the young girl.
Dawnflower and Love soon begin to have more than only friendship.
When they are 15, they share their first kiss.
One day, Dawnflower sees the old lady Agnes Crumplebottom. Although she was only an infant when her mother died, she has heard enough stories that it was Agnes who started accusing witches and is responsible for her mother’s death. In anger, Dawnflower can’t control her magic and fire sparks from her fingertips.
Agnes didn’t see it coming, but is now scared enough of Dawnflower.
When they are 18, Love and Dawnflower tell Love’s parents they are starting to court each other.
Everyone is happy.
In 1717, the wedding takes place and Dawnflower moves in with Love.
They cannot wait to start a family together.

So... historical stories are always my favorite! I watched this series I'd wanted to care for ages but couldn't manage before: The Cook of Castamar. I admit I was totally kidnapped: story, locations, clothes, events... and all above, the slow-burn love between the widowed and brooding Duke Diego who, despite being the King's right hand, despises his peerage's habits and fights for justice and equality and the sweet Clara, who's quite a very modern young woman in concepts (for being from 1720), quite good not only in the kitchen but also in helping people and fighting for the right... awwwww, such a misfortune that the book hasn't been translated into Italian too... I would love to read it!!
#the cook of castamar#la cocinera de castamar#please watch this series: it's incredibly worthy#Diego sometimes makes me think of a less twisted version of Albert Moriarty too#Clara is such a sweetheart ç____ç<3

Me: *Reblogs a gif set from La cocinera de Castamar*
Tumblr notifications: someone has ❤️this post
Me: *frenetically investigating if the show is translated into English or maybe is another Spaniard, or maybe someone who speaks Spanish and found the show.*
(Anyway, I just watched the 10th episode and I’m in love with the show)
