Valerie sighed, half asleep, rubbing her eye. Dreams didn't often move her, but this dreadful night they had. And worse, she only had a single earring, so it would be plain irresponsible to wish herself back to bed before at least trying to find it. Her white pijamas were comfortable, at least, but she was barefoot and the floor was cold, and worse, sticky.
It seemed there was not a single soul there. But if there wasn't, why did she feel so watched? Should she introduce herself? She did her best to straighten her hair to at least look a bit less messy, even though her sleep must've made her tumble around 500 times.
"Good evening?" She asked, knowing not to who, and perhaps louder than she intended to. Her steps had been light, but her voice, not as much.
