Seeing this one post about likes/reblogs poking me in all the wrong places. Making my own grumbly post because *siiiiiiiigh* in the end of a day OP and others are right, viewers owe you nothing even if it is unpleasant to acknowledge, and I don't want to derail good message esp when it adds nothing good to conversation esp with something which is most definitely my own ages old traumas about never being noticed for the things I'm passionate about. "if you consider some1 liking your work "meaningless" why are you creating art in the first place?" Well maybe I make art to see some reactions to it, to feel less lonely in my creativity, to make new connections with like-minded people! Can a "like" scratch this itch? No-It's just a faceless thoughtless "number go up" thing. It feels kinda meaningless! It doesn't feel like a feedback at all! (And yes, that's only regarding "likes" on the creative posts, personal/life ones are a different thing) Grrrrrrr sorry, hope I don't sound like an ungrateful asshole, but I've got so many mixed feelings about the "like" mechanic. Anyway, no shade towards people who use likes on art, do what's comfortable for you, it is my personal resentment with a certain socmeds' mechanism, and desire for attention+unhealthy relationship with my work which will never go away. And bad mood probably
