𝐀𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐱 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 | 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐖𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐞 - 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟖
Warning: Possessive behaviour, smut, explicit Masterlist (Part 7 - Part 9)
Summary: A feast is held, and you find yourself in a difficult predicament as Aemond reveals to be very... himself.
Your dress was not the most beautiful you owned, but it was still a pretty one. Green, bare shoulders and long sleeves embroidered with your house sigil, a silver badger surrounded by brown threads, the rest of the green merging into your dress. You certainly will be blending in among the expected sea of green clothes at the event tonight, but you liked it.
You were seated at a long table alongside the counsellors' families, your own father and brother two places away from you, as the King's table was raised above the others at the edge of the room, presiding over everyone else.
Aegon II was already seated when you arrived. He seemed tired, his usual dark eyes were even darker and his movements were slow. You almost went to him to congratulate him on his victory and to wish him a quick recovery, but refrained yourself as you were unsure of Aegon's mood, considering his reputation. You would not risk it for now.
His mother and sister wife were at his side, Otto Hightower standing not far from there and talking with whom you knew were Larys Strong and another Lord you assumed to be a recent addition to the Greens.
You searched for Aemond across the room, but you saw no traces of him. People were dancing and conversing happily for the time being and so you went to talk to ladies of the court you knew, under your father's watchful eye.
At one point you were so deep in conversation with your friends about tales of the battle that had recently taken place in the Riverlands, eager to finally hear more about it, that you didn't notice Aemond entering the hall and stop at the nearest pillar, instantly landing his gaze on your form as if you were the only one in the room.
Unlike your failed attempts to notice him before, Aemond certainly could not miss you. You were beautiful, and your dress made him smile proudly. You were harbouring his colours, your hair was finely braided and the sight of your skin that was not hidden by the cloth did things to him that he wanted to explore later that night.
Otto Hightower called for an honorary speech soon after, so you returned to your seat with the other guests in order to hear the King who would speak afterward, but you heard nothing of what was said, rather you didn't listen to a word. Once settled in front of your plate you eventually noticed Aemond already placed next to his grandfather, glaring right at you. You froze as you saw him give you a satisfied smile, so wide that you even thought he was laughing, your heart making leaps in your chest. He didn't let go of your eyes until, still frozen and unable to react to this, you averted your eyes from him and tried to look interested in Aegon's words. He would not like that, you thought, being ignored.
When Aegon's speech received rounds of applause and everybody began to eat and drink, you risked a glance at the Prince, who was, of course, still staring at you, although his smile had disappeared.
Thinking back to your realisation of the last days, on how you would handle your feelings for him, you congratulated yourself in managing to not stare back and just ignore him. At least you thought you were, because your eyes seemed inexplicably drawn to him every two minutes.
Cups and plates were emptied and refilled, while the guests began the traditional dances in the middle of the room, sometimes even waltzing alone in a corner. You spent a nice time despite your anxiety at the feeling of Aemond's eye always on you. As you were watching the dancers quietly, you felt someone take the empty seat beside you.
"I did not see you dancing my Lady."
Addam Vance, stunningly dressed and a smile on his face, looked teasingly at you, cup in his hand. Happy for the distraction, you answered laughing, wine also in your system.
"It is because no one will see me and people would step on me at every move!" you said over the music. "You see, I wear green, thus it makes me invisible among all of those performers."
He laughed at that.
"I see your point," he said, looking at the green mass on the dance floor. "It seems fashion is risky for a lady such as you, but rest assured, I will not let anyone step on you for your dress is the nicest one I've seen thus far."
You blushed, although you were sure it wouldn't be noticeable because the wine already reddened your face.
"You didn't dance either, my Lord. Are you perhaps only skilled with a sword?" you asked playfully.
"Ah, I fear that my inaction is only the consequence of my lack of a partner, as I am neither married nor in courtship," he sighed, glancing at the room as if to point out its uselessness.
"I do not doubt for a moment you'll not find a lady to please tonight. Most of them are waiting all year for this sort of occasion!"
"And what about you?" he asked, more serious.
"Me? I only dance when I'm forced to," you joked. It's not that you didn't enjoy dancing, it's just that you didn't like the attention.
"Then I shall force you if I may," he concluded with a sweet smile. "Would y-"
"Lady Y/N."
You turned at the newcomer and stopped laughing.
Aemond was standing behind Addam's chair, an unreadable look on his face. He only watched you for the shortest moment before staring straight at Addam, taking his place between the two of you.
"And... I do not believe I've met you," he said in an exaggerated politeness.
Addam seemed taken aback for a while, surprised at the sudden interruption.
"Addam Vance, son of Denys Vance," he introduced himself, as Aemond kept staring at him. "I fought with you in the Riverlands, a glorious victory."
"Yes. Vance of Atranta. The Vance of Wayfarer siding with my traitor of a sister, correct?" Aemond said as if talking about nothing but the weather.
"Yes, we could say that House Vance is as divided as House Targaryen," Addam stated, lightly enough not to appear offensive.
Aemond seemed to consider if Addam was serious for a while, daring to say such things in front of him, but you saw his usual grin appear, the one he used when he was being cruel, and you swallowed.
"Indeed," Aemond spoke. "And what of you, Addam Vance of Atranta, are you proud of your House deeds in the battlefield? I heard your father did a great job in safeguarding the provisions."
You tensed, and so did Addam. You did not know Addam's father's reputation, but you were sure that Addam took Aemond's words as a provocation on a certain level. However, you saw him handle the pressure surprisingly well.
"It was not our main task, but I don't expect a dragon rider such as you to be aware of the footsoldiers movements my Prince, as you were so high up in the sky during the battle."
Aemond's nostrils flared slightly, and you felt like you should make your escape from the conversation as soon as possible. You began to shift in your chair when Aemond answered, still harbouring the shadow of the cruel smile.
"I do not believe you were enough forth in the battle to see me land and fight among my men, only departing when my brother's dragon was under attack, Lord. " He emphasised the last word strongly, a menacing glow in his eye.
"I fear that speaking of such matters is making me dizzy," you chose to interject suddenly, faking a laugh and directing your words at Addam in an attempt to stop him from taking the conversation further. "Perhaps a dance would make me feel better!" you concluded as you stood up, attempting to do just the opposite and leave the two men to maybe join your lady friends who were looking at the cakes not far away from you.
"Actually, this is exactly why I came," you heard Aemond said, his lips curving, stopping you from walking away. "May I have this dance, my Lady?"
You stared at his extended hand for far too long, and when you looked upon Addam who was clearly annoyed at the Prince now, you took the latter's hand. You let him take you far from Addam, relieved that these two were now at a safe distance from one another.
When your hands parted to bow to each other, beginning the dance, you realised that you were finally seeing him properly for the first time since your time in the garden. You felt your body warm up as your bodies turned around each other in graceful movements, mirroring the other guests on the dance floor, his scent overwhelming you.
"I would never have thought green would suit you so well, my Lady," he lied as you met your hands in the middle before stepping away again. You scoffed.
"Surely you don't intend to comment on my clothing while there are better and more interesting things to be said."
"I find the state of your wardrobe quite interesting if it allows me to see more of you," he retorted as you passed by him and felt his finger graze your shoulder momentarily.
"You've already seen much of me, my Prince," you whispered, and you felt out of your bounds, but it was fun as you saw Aemond's eye shot at you at your words with a wide grin. "But I certainly did not see as much of you."
He made you twirl, and you rested in his arm for a short time as the music shifted to a slower rate.
"It can be arranged, you will not find me arguing over this matter," he said, his eyes looking down at your lips and your form before meeting your eyes again and turning around you once more in rhythm.
"It depends. Do you plan to leave often without telling me of your state as you come home from battle? At least I am glad to see you unharmed, I could not be certain you see. From your absence," you accused, not teasing any more. He was less joyous as you kept on.
"You leave for days and the first thing you do is interrupt the loveliest conversation I've had for a while and show rudeness to one of your allies." Aemond's eye lost all of the amusement it harboured a moment ago, only to be replaced by a deadly stare.
"Indeed, my absence surely was a mistake, as I find you ignoring me plainly and then talking to a runt who would not survive more than ten minutes on the battlefield," he said through gritted teeth, his dancing movement forgotten. "Is he courting you?"
You opened your mouth in shock, aghast at his words. You stopped in the middle of the dance floor as well, making the other guests bump into your form, but you didn't care.
"Does it matter? As a woman I am expected to marry and bear children. To him or another, would it be any different?" you replied as anger emanated from you. You hadn't thought about marrying Addam but now it seemed very plausible, he was a very respectful man.
Aemond had closed the gap between you in one step and had grabbed your wrists so strongly that you feared he would snap them. He was furious, and somehow you felt proud that you managed to rile him up like that. However you were already regretting it.
"It does matter. You are not just anyone, you cannot marry to this sort, I will not have it," he said dangerously low, his breath hot on your face. "You will never be his."
"Who will I belong to then, if not this sort?" you said in defiance.
You felt him tense, his gaze lowering to your neck and lingering there for a long while. You could feel him struggling with his emotions.
"At least I would choose this betrothal, and not be bound to someone only for political reasons," you continued, deeply implying his own situation.
Aemond was recovering his senses quickly at your provocative words and you felt his anger grow wider, only to be saved by the music who had stopped to allow the guest to take a rest in the dance still happening around you.
Aemond, not covered by the music and the crowd any longer, was forced to let you go as the dance floor emptied. You massaged your wrist unconsciously, making his purple eye look at your gesture and his features softened a little. But you just stared furiously at him and turned away, leaving him biting his cheek in frustration.
You went back to your seat for the rest of the evening, carefully avoiding the royal table and always ensuring you were not alone. You felt uneasy because now your father was constantly watching you with a side eye, but you stayed patient, eating the cinnamon cake you've been served and listening vaguely to the conversations.
Addam was nowhere to be seen, even Hugo had seemed to disappear from the hall, and you wondered where they went. You were almost tempted to take a walk around the castle grounds, maybe you'll find someone to talk to outside of the loud room.
"Poor Helaena," you heard your friend say.
"What?"
"The King is so drunk that I would think the wine cellar empty by now. Helaena just retired, it seems, she appears to have one of her episodes, seeing the King in this state. I just saw her leave."
You glanced at the door and started to worry. What if she had no one to take care of her, having escaped without anyone but your friend's notice. Sometimes she struggled so strongly to breathe that you feared for her life. You should go after her.
So you left the table and passed the doors to the inner courtyard, the moon shining on the sleek stones, but you saw no one. You shall begin your search on your way up to Helaena's chamber, hoping to find a maid on your way to inform her of the Queen's predicament.
When you made it to the first floor, you felt a hand grab your side and you screamed, if not for the hand on your mouth blocking any sound from escaping. You were shoved against a wall, and Aemond's eye appeared in your vision, waiting for you to calm down. You tried to hit him as hard as you could at the realisation of his doing, and he was forced to remove his hand from your mouth in order to stop your punching.
"Aemond you-!" you said as he took hold of your wrist again, pressing you into the wall further to prevent you from moving. "I almost went into shock!" you reprimanded him, still furious.
"Sshhhh. Be quiet," he commanded, and you could not see his eye in the dark, only discerning his aware features.
"You expect me to be quiet? After acting this way with me?" you kept on, but he suddenly took your chin roughly and repeated.
"Be. Quiet."
You silenced yourself instantly, the force of his command and his touch like a switch that turned off your boldness. As he considered that you would obey him after a while, he took your elbow and led you to an empty room, only letting you go in order to close the door behind you. You stood in the middle of the room, arms crossed.
"What are we doing, Aemond? Is this your way of apologising for your behaviour? If so, you are failing, your actions already speak loudly for themselves," you said harshly.
He took a deep breath and walked slowly toward you, stopping before he could get too close.
"You are the one who should be apologising, as you are the one who is making me so infuriated that your behaviour could make me forget all about honour," he stated, attempting to control his voice.
"I did no such thing. It is your jealousy that is making you behave like a proper idiot. Am I acting the same way when you are the one who is actually getting married soon?" you exclaimed.
His fingers curled slightly at his side like he was unsure of what to do. You uncrossed your arms and took a step forth.
"This is wrong, Aemond. Whatever this is. Lady Baratheon is due to arrive in a week short and I will not be the one to cast shame on my family name," you said, and you struggled to prevent tears from coming into your eyes.
"Stop this. I know you are not being honest, you don't want to say those things. You don't believe in them."
His face was a mix between anger and resignation as he said that. You kept on.
"It is only a matter of time before-"
"I said stop," he repeated, more violently. "I will not hear this. I will not hear of marriage, of honour, and I will not hear about this dull boy ever again, and of you refusing me, do you understand?" He had advanced on to you in this short time and was now pulling you close, your chests colliding and his lips inches from yours, his scent invading your senses.
"Because you are mine Y/N," he whispered into your lips, grabbing the side of your head.
His tone was threatening, but his touch was soft, and you felt yourself surrender to him at once, unable to refuse him.
" Yes," you said in a breath, closing your eyes and sending everything you stood only moments ago to hell, completely lost and overwhelmed by his presence.
You grabbed his shoulders as he kissed you the next moment, slowly as first, then harder, his hand digging into your hair as he pulled, a moan escaping from your mouth at the gesture.
"Mine," he said while he made you back up against the furniture behind you, making you slam into it in a thud. He worked his tongue over you, entering your mouth and devouring your neck as his hand began to undress you. You felt his manhood hard against your lower half, causing you to arch your body unexpectedly, making him groan of surprise into your ear.
After a while he grew more frustrated at your dress, unwilling to come off, so he grabbed his dagger at his belt and cut it open, ripping it over the front, making you gasp in shock. The cloth unceremoniously fell at your feet and your surprise over the cold feeling of the blade between your breasts was soon replaced by pleasure as he began his ministrations on your chest, the weapon thrown next to your dress on the floor.
You tried to unclasp his jacket as well, so you could touch his skin, feel his warmth. But you were struggling in your haste and you felt flustered, his movements preventing you from properly undressing him.
"Aemond-, I want you, please..." you moaned, and he came to a stop, pulling back up to face you, his mouth slightly open, if you were correct, in surprise. Pure lust was emanating from him now, and you felt overwhelmed by the feeling of him, waiting for him to act.
"What did you say?" he asked in a husky voice, and it was suddenly easier for you to answer.
"I need you, Aemond. Please, just-" you whimpered. He watched you for seconds longer, like he couldn't believe what you had just said and when his lips finally crashed onto yours again, your hands directly went for his belt.
He groaned at your touch and didn't leave you any space to continue as he lifted you from the floor by your waist and carried you over what you gathered was a sofa that you have not noticed before. He looked at your naked form while he was getting rid of his layers, and you couldn't help but sit up to help him, resuming your work over his belt.
The next thing you knew, he was on top of you, breathing heavily, his bare skin against yours, and you felt your inside throb in expectation.
"Fuck," he groaned, biting the skin over your collarbone and sucking it lightly. "Do you want this?" he pressed his shaft against you. "Do you want to feel what it's like? So soft and responsive..."
You let a whimper escape you as he put his hand over your parts, drawing slow circles over your sweet spot.
"So ready... Would the runt make you feel this way? I doubt it, I'm sure he is so ungifted by the gods that any woman he will bed won't be able to reach even the half of what I will make you feel," he said mischievously, grinning and panting as he rubbed his fingers over your wetness more quickly.
And you believed him. Surely no one else than Aemond was as good, and at this moment you wished for nothing else but for it to last.
You arched your back against him as he reached a sensitive spot, and he began to like what he was seeing and hearing, far too much. He just kept going, tracing kisses from your ear to your shoulders, leaving love bites all over your skin.
"Aemond, please, I need this," you confessed within a desperate moan, and he groaned in response, positioning himself over you as he put his arms at your sides.
"Don't move, love," he commanded as he lowered himself onto you.
When he entered you you felt uneasy at first, but because he was watching you so closely, inspecting every move you made, you soon felt like you needed more, and began to move as well.
Aemond didn't expect this and hissed loudly, digging his head into your neck at the action. "You're going to be the death of me," you heard him say, so low that you almost didn't catch it.
He stayed still for a moment, unable to move as you were the one shifting into a more comfortable position, as if he was trying to take control of himself. Then he lifted his head, kissed you deeply and began to thrust, slowly at first, making sure you responded well to the movement of his hips, then he moved faster and faster.
From that moment you didn't register anything any more, just knowing that you had to keep quiet and that Aemond was everything that you needed right now. He kissed you harshly, swallowing your muffled moans as you tried to hold yourself a little longer, but it was becoming more difficult as Aemond went on, hitting every good spot inside of you. Then you finally reached your release, your insides clenching around him as he followed you shortly after, biting the skin where your neck and your shoulder met in an attempt to keep his pleasure quiet.
You felt utter bliss at first, Aemond limp body over yours, keeping you warm as you caressed his back tenderly, panting. Then you felt dirty and panic slightly came, as you realised that he did not withdraw. He felt you tense and looked at you curiously, stroking your hair.
"What's wrong?" he inquired, brows furrowed, and the last thing you wanted to see was hurt in his eye. So you smiled softly as you replied.
"Nothing. I wish this moment could last forever," you said as his hair tickled your face.
It was far from a lie, you did wish this, and you decided that the issue of being with child would be dealt with later.

masterlist
"i think i'm falling in love with you."
you blinked, the rest of your body seemed frozen for a moment afterwards. that had been the last thing you'd ever expected from him. you could feel your head throbbing, whether it'd been from the aftermath of the party, or just your mind trying to keep up with what was happening. you furrowed your brows, your hand retracting from his palm, pushing yourself back against the seat of his car.
you couldn't process his words fast enough to respond straight away. instead you shifted your gaze out through the windshield, your mouth opening and closing every couple of seconds. you didn't know how to answer him.
oscar was watching your every move, his stomach twisting when you pulled away from him. your expression was changing ever so slightly every second, he could see you processing the information. he gulped, suddenly thinking the worst, shifting his eyes down to the space between you two. he should have kept his mouth shut and sat on his feelings. he should have let you out of the arrangement and left it at that. he hadn't thought any of this through. you had given no inclination over the past few weeks that you'd felt the same way. you were just helping out a friend.
you cleared your throat after a long silence. "you think?" your voice was still pretty quiet, like your mind was still working through what he'd said. "you don't know if you love me or not?" you were trying to make sense of it in your head, not able to meet his eyes yet.
"y/n—"
"i just think that's something you should be sure about before saying it out loud," you gulped. you were kind of annoyed with him for telling you this. a little part of you inside wanted to revel in his words, the part of you that had been in love with him for years when you were younger. but you'd moved on. you would have never had agreed to do his fake dating scheme if you'd thought you'd fall back into those feelings, you knew you wouldn't be able to put yourself through that again.
you had loved oscar for a long time, and you watched him for years treat women like they were nothing. delusional, you thought you were different and that oscar would never treat you this way, you clung to him. it took a long time for you to accept the reality, to fall out of love with him and realise he would only ever see you as a friend.
so oscar's confession now, wasn't as simple as you feeling the same way or not, it was far more complicated.
"the past few weeks weren't real oscar," you reminded him, you felt like he needed it. "you don't love me— you just love how i've been treating you. if you loved me, it wouldn't've taken you this long to realise."
he shook his head. "i was an idiot," you shifted so you were facing him again, watching how his eyes darted between yours desperately. "i was really fucking stupid— i didn't— i don't want to go back to how it was. i can't."
you shook your head barely, your eyes closing for a split second. oscar had been your best friend for years and he'd never lie to you like this. you just didn't want it to be true.
"i've seen firsthand how you are with girls, oscar. and i don't wanna pretend that you see me any differently—"
"no— this isn't— it's not the same," he was pleading at this point, desperately, feeling you slip away. "y/n, you know me," his eyebrows furrowed but his voice was soft, you didn't often hear him talk like this. it was hard to not get wrapped up in his words. "this ain't like those other girls."
you held his stare, breaking it only for a second when you felt your throat tighten. you couldn't bring yourself to fall into it, something was holding you back. it was too much to have him sat in front of you, begging you to believe him when it was too late.
"oscar, i loved you for a long time," your voice was quiet, all those years your feelings went unrequited. "and you fucked girl after girl, and i watched thinking one day you'd pick me and it'd be different but you never did, and it never was."
his lips were pursed, his hand gripping the seat of his car, knuckles white. he could hear the waver in your voice and it was hitting him like a brick. he ignored you for years, oblivious to anything you felt for him. he didn't realise, until now, how awful you must have felt.
"so, i'm sorry, if i'm not ready and willing," you tried to play off your confession, feeling the lump in your throat grow larger the longer this was strung out. "but i have been telling myself for years to move on— so it feels a bit late for you to be having this realisation when i've loved you my whole life."
he nodded. he understood, of course he did. he couldn't ask you to reverse years of heartbreak because he realised too late that you were the only thing that really mattered. he would just have to live with his mistake.
his eyebrows had knitted tighter together after sitting and listening. "if i could take back some of the shit i've done— mami— i'm sorry."
"yeah, well, me too," you shrugged, your lips tightening. you gulped when he shifted his hand over to yours, letting your palm set on top of his. he gave your hand a gentle squeeze. you were quiet for a while, enjoying the warmth of his hand against yours, finding comfort in his touch for just a little while longer.
"what made you realise?" you were almost whispering when you spoke again, everything was so quiet now.
oscar had to force himself to look at you. it was dark but the light from the streetlamp illuminated just half of your face, your eyes glossy. he clenched his jaw before speaking. "i talked to my ex."
"you did?" surprised he'd waited this long to bring it up. that had been the end goal all this time.
he nodded gently, his grip loosened on your hand, his thumb grazing the back of your hand now. his eyes were drawn to your hands, while your eyes remained on him. "yeah— made me realise she just wasn't you," he refused to shift his gaze. as did you. you felt your chest tighten. his sincerity made everything feel wrong about your decision.
"'cause you— you have these freckles on your nose that only come out in the sun," you watched the corner of his lips tug into a small smile as the image of you, sitting in front of him, sun in your eyes and wind blowing through your hair flashed through his mind. "and you make the same face every time you tell me off— your nose scrunches and you get a crease on your forehead," your eyes drooped listening to him talk as openly and honestly as you'd ever heard him talk about anything. it wasn't a side you saw often, but you could feel yourself soften, and your defence weaken. "and cesar— you love him like he's your own brother— i love that— that kid is everything to me— and he is to you too."
he huffed, the smile slipping from his face when he drew himself out of his head. he pulled away from you finally to run a hand over his face. he was angry with himself for messing this up. "and you're never gonna' forgive me," his heart was beating harder with the thought of losing you. "and i'm on' lose my mind without you."
you were quiet for a while, soaking in his words.
you hesitated, but moved your hand to his shoulder, your fingers grazing his skin, moving to the nape of his neck, urging him to look at you again. edging closer, you rid of the space between you two. oscar's eyes moved between yours, his eyebrows furrowed together softly. you moved both hands to his neck, carefully edging his face closer, your breath fanning against his lips before you kissed him.
oscar reacted, his body shifting closer to yours, his hand grazing your thigh to pull you nearer. your mind was racing, your hands curling around his neck and cupping his face as you leaned into the kiss. you were breathless when you pulled back, finally. his hand gripping your thigh now, scared you might retreat to the passenger seat again.
"you keep talking like that and i might love you forever," you mumbled, almost incoherent. your mind was foggy from this kiss and all you could feel was his thumb was now grazing softly over your thigh. his free had lifted, his forefinger and thumb touching your chin, tilting your head up so your eyes stayed locked with his.
"i swear, i'm in this until you don't want me anymore."
you shook your head, you bit your lip remembering the kiss. your eyes trailing to his lips again as you remembered the feeling. "never gonna happen."
oscar cracked a soft smile, his fingers moving to trace your jawline gently. "it's settled then."
you revelled in his touch, letting him trace over your skin, slowly feeling yourself lean further into his embrace. he pressed his lips against your forehead, lingering for a minute before pulling away and resting his forehead against yours. you tilted your chin up, kissing him for a second before pulling back again.
oscar's hand slipped from your jawline to the back of your neck, pulling you back and kissing you again. his lips moved softly against yours, for a few seconds until you reacted and kissed back. when he pulled away for air you felt yourself longing for more.

🎄 Day 11 of the Christmas project🎄
pairing : san x fem!reader a/n: ngl i’m quite happy with this one. maybe bc it’s kinda personal? idk
You had just arrived at the cottage you inherited from your grandparents when they passed away, and, after driving for so long, you were happy to finally cut the engine. Months had passed since you last visited this small house filled with beautiful memories, and you had this strange feeling of happiness mixed with nostalgia overrunning in your body. The cottage was a small wooden house at the edge of the forest next to a lake, now frozen, the ground and the naked and lonely looking branches of the trees surrounding it covered in snow. You parked your car in the driveway and slightly shook your best friend's shoulder to wake him from his slumber. After a few minutes of constantly shaking him, San finally stirred up, softly rubbing his eyes as he looked around him.
"Are we already here?" he mumbled and you bitterly chuckled, unbuckling your seat belt and opened the door. "What do you mean already? You've been sleeping since we stopped at the gas station. It's been two hours dude," You poked his ribs before stepping out. San shook his head and got out of the car as well a few seconds later, letting out a sigh before helping you clear the trunk filled with things to get comfortable enough for the long weekend you had planned to stay together.
The end of the year was coming, so that meant a lot of things to do at work: closing cases, checking details before sending files to your boss, preparing some others for the new year, it was everything but calm when you entered your workspace each morning. Fortunately, you had worked quite hard during the week, so today before lunch, San and you took your leave of work and hurried to your car, getting ready for a few hours of driving to get to this beautiful place where you had just arrived.
"Gosh, I've missed this place so badly," you said as you looked around you, eyes roaming as you observed the trees and your surroundings. You started getting a bit emotional as you recalled the hazy yet wonderful memories you had collected while growing up until it was time for them to leave.
You remembered spending some of your Summer holidays here with your siblings when your parents grew "tired" of the three of you. They always claimed to need a break from being parents for at least a week, and so did you from them. When you were at your grandparents' house, more fun was allowed than when you were at home. It was an exciting feeling, and you were always looking forward to coming and visiting them at every opportunity you had. You never truly minded because you loved your grandparents and spending time with them. But for your younger siblings, it was a whole other story: they were constantly yelling about missing mom and dad, while you were just loving being there, catching up with your granddad
You had your little secrets with him, things that you hid from your family and your siblings. For example, you and your grandfather would secretly take two easels, always feeling that rush of adrenaline before escaping from the yells of your siblings to find a good spot to start painting for a major part of the day, hidden in the mountains hovering above the cottage. Each time, you came back from your getaway with a brand new piece of art, and a memory to cherish for the years to come. You entered the cottage, and a wave of nostalgia crashed onto you, a sense of comfort wrapping its arms around your shoulders. In the dark, you could still distinguish some of the pieces of art your granddad did when you were together. You opened the shutters and drew out the curtains your grandmother had sewed by herself, making the natural sunlight warm up the place. You then went behind the house and opened the electricity and water conducts while San took care of putting all the things your truck you carry inside the small house.
"It's a gorgeous little place that you hid from me," he teased, and you gently smiled, elbowing him in the ribs as you kept on putting everything in the right place. "It's my sweet escape," you replied as your best friend rested for a few seconds in the middle of the entrance, hands on his hips as he took in the decoration of the place.
When you had some rough times in your life - which happened more often as your grandparents fell sick one after the other -, you came to this little house in secret to unwind and spend some time alone, crying or just chilling. It was a bit like your secret garden, the spot that you had indeed kept hidden from everyone. Even your parents didn't know that you frequently visited here and spend some time in nature. That's why it wasn't as dusty and dirty as one can imagine an abandoned house to look like. Yes, it was a bit straggly, but to your defence, you haven't come to this place in weeks.
As the day went by, it was finally the afternoon, and it had started snowing as soon as you finished setting in the cottage house. You were quite tired from driving for a few hours, only being used to run a few errands for maximum 20 minutes, so you just wanted to chill and maybe take a nap on the burgundy, corduroy couch. San, on the other hand, since had slept a major part of the journey there, was just a human dynamo. Looking around, all smiley and excited as he watched the snow falling from the sky.
"Do you wanna do something outside? We could make a snowman, have a snowball fight or go for a walk?" he suggested as he let himself fall next to you on the couch, tickling your side with his left hand as the other remained against his chest. You stifled a giggle and squirmed, trying to escape from his touch. He stopped for a while, his eyes lingering on you as you were getting your breath back. "And what about going sledging? I just saw that there's a hill on the other side of the lake, we can go there," your best friend offered, but you shook your head with a pout. "San, I'm too tired for all of this," you whispered, and his eyes widened, taken aback that you declined his offer, again, "and where did you even find a sledge?" you added, not even knowing that your grandparents owned one. "There was two in the small storage unit, but don't try to change the subject. Why don't you want to go sledging?" he said while sitting up, laying a hand on your knee, shaking it a bit. "It's the best thing you could do when we have a type of weather like this!" he exclaimed while pointing outside, making you sigh and as you looked out the window. Yes, it was still snowing, and it looked quite consistent enough to sledge on it, but you could see some patches of blue sky appearing here and there, telling you that the good weather wasn't as far as you thought it was.
"Come on, Y/N, just for me," he said as he watched you stifling a yawn, happy that he managed to catch sight of a small nod in your actions. "Really? Let's go then!" he enthusiastically got up, not even waiting for you to run into the bedroom to get dressed. "The things I'd do for him," you whispered to yourself as you tiredly got up from the couch, making your way up the small stairs as well. Once you had slipped on your fleece-lined pants and warm coats, you made your way out the door, San trotting to the small storage unit behind the house to get the sledges. Those were made out of old wood, a thin rope attached to the tip of it. They looked quite old and dusty, but they would do the trick.
"So Y/N, since you're the expert of the region," San teased as he looked over, only to have you staring back at him with a fake bored look, "how can we reach this side of the lake?" he said as he pointed the side opposite the cottage, and you smiled. That is where you used to go painting with your grandfather. "Come on, follow me," you said as you confidently started walking, the memories colliding in your brain as you trusted your guts to get to this side of the lake. In the course of your walk, with San by your side, you told him some of your memories while pointing at different things.
"You see that tree over there?" you gestured to the naked weeping willow a bit further into the stroll, San nodding as his eyes followed your finger, "when it was getting either too hot or too noisy because of my siblings during Summer, I'd take a book and spend the entire afternoon reading underneath that tree," you explained with a soft smile on your face, remembering the great souvenirs as the leaves crunched under your moon boots as you stopped. "And my grandma had a whistle, and she would blow four times when dinner was ready, and I needed to come back," you told your friend, who had a sincere smile on his face. "This is adorable, it sounds like a Studio Ghibli plot," he said while taking your hand, making you walk slightly faster to pass the tree. San knew you well. He knew that if you spent too much time in front of this willow, you'd start getting emotional and probably cry, and that was the last thing he wanted to see.
You silently thanked him with a faint smile as you understood his sudden change of behaviour and you cleared your throat, keeping on telling him happier souvenirs as you finally arrived where San wanted to go. "I can't imagine how beautiful it must look here in Summer," he mumbled as he stared at the cottage on the other side of the lake. "It's even more incredible in fall," you said with a smile, "I came here mid-October and you're just surrounded by yellow and orange trees, you can really feel the fall vibes," you giggled with your friend, letting go of his hand, feeling suddenly nervous. You hadn't even noticed that San had kept your hand in his the entire time, and you were even hotter when you realised that he didn't even look bothered or shy of it.
You took a few pictures of each other going down the sledge, laughing and pushing each other around as the other took an unflattering photo of the other. The powder snow eased your falls every time you pushed the other too hard, sometimes shrieking as you could feel some snow slipping under your clothes and reach your skin. At some point, you were too tired to get up, so you stayed well muffled in your clothes, looking at the sky clearing above your heads. San was also in the snow, ignoring the freezing sensation of water against his neck and the goosebumps travelling his entire body. Instead of staring at the sky as you did, he seized the fact that you were too busy getting lost in your thoughts to stare at you. He loved seeing his best friend at peace like you currently were, it looked like all of your worries had vanished as soon as you pulled up by the house, the stressed Y/N getting replaced by the one that San imagined was the Y/N of your childhood.
The young man shifted in the snow, close enough for his hand to grab yours. As you felt pressure on your glove, you turned your head to the side, looking at him. He was already looking at you with a fond smile decorating his lips, and you raised your eyebrows, silently asking him why he was staring at you like that.
"I wish for this moment to never end," he spoke softly, the density of the snow under you two muffling his words, only for you to hear. "Me neither," you uttered, and San squeezed your hand as an answer, shooting you a wink before looking at the sky like you did just moments ago. He felt your gaze on him, and he started rolling towards you, miscalculating the number of rolls he had to do to come near you, resulting him almost crushing you as he was about to land on his back. You clutched your abdomen, anticipating his weight landing on you, but he swiftly moved around to land on his stomach, his mouth arriving millimetres away from yours.
None of you recoiled, getting lost in the other's eyes. Your breath had quickened up, something going noticed by San. He gulped but kept staring at you, your breaths forming one trail of steam above your heads, unhurriedly vanishing in the atmosphere. San pulled his thoughts and doubts to the side for an instant, his mouth colliding with yours in the gentlest way possible. Despite the dryness of his lips, the kiss released millions of butterflies in your stomach, sending warmth straight to your face. With your mittens slightly covered in snow, you cupped his face, and he groaned into the kiss, the cold against his face attempting to bring him back to reality.
But it wasn't enough to make you two stop kissing each other. You had both been secretly waiting for this for too long, and you didn't want to end the kiss right now. Making the most of it was the key point of the situation, and you let your lips linger on San's as if it was the last time before pulling away. The man gave you mere seconds to catch your breath before pulling you in another kiss, your hearts beating furiously against each other as your tongues danced together, head spinning and getting mushy due to all the emotions you were experiencing.

That Friday feeling was in the spring of Y/N’s step, and how she threw off her stuffy office clothes and traded them for baggy top and sweatpants. It was in the way she put on her favourite playlist, shimmied a pizza in the oven and how she shut the fridge with a pop of her hip. She twirled around the kitchen in between sips of beer, lifting her spirits higher and higher.
At the sound of the oven alarm beeping, she plated up the pizza, walked through her apartment, and flopped a blanket over her shoulder in preparation for her Friday night tradition. It had been a hard week at work, and she couldn’t wait to unwind in one of her favourite spots.
She climbed out of the lounge window onto the fire escape, ascending the steps carefully as to not drop her pizza and beer.
“Careful out there, Y/N,” Stan, her neighbour, said.
She paused at the window ledge and grinned back at the elderly gentleman sitting in his armchair. He looked over the top of his glasses with a fond smile.
“I’m always careful Stan,” She winked and carried on with her climb.
On the rooftop, overlooking the countryside in the distance, Y/N could relax and get away from work. She’d been a temporary administrator at a financial company for six months, but she didn’t seem to fit in with any of her colleagues. She soon discovered that she was often talked about because she was different. ‘Different’ meant Y/N didn't join them for the weekly drinks at the local bar or partake in office gossip. None of it was her thing and, to them, that made her ‘weird.’
On many occasions, Y/N had overheard them guessing about her private life and it took its toll after hearing the same repetitive comments; she never talks about her family. Or friends for that matter. She needs to get laid. She's a bit of a freak. Too wrapped up in all that alien abduction and sci-fi nonsense.
And that’s how being on the rooftop, with pizza and a couple of beers, became a weekly tradition and a place of solitude. Unwinding with music and the starry sky above, Y/N could pretend the world below didn’t exist.
The mellow music drowned out the noise from the street below as she stretched out on the sun lounger. A contented sigh left her mouth as the blanket enveloped her in comfort and the warmth seeped into her bones.
The sun setting over the woodland in the distance was the perfect backdrop for her to relax as she munched on the pizza. Y/N adored the way the peach glow filled the skyline and silhouetted the trees against the horizon.
The greasy delight helped to soothe her but couldn’t quiet all the gossip she’d heard about herself that week. Especially the remarks about her sex life. They had no idea if there was any truth to their assumptions, but no amount of beer or delicious food could drown the thought completely.
Over the last couple of years, Y/N had pretended that she was happy. That she was content with being on her own but deep down she had given up. Her inability to navigate the dating scene successfully was not something she was proud of but then again, she’d had too many awful and lame experiences to count.
She was a moon without an orbit, drifting in an endlessly dark sky. It was as if everyone else had been given access to this world of love and relationships and she was left alone. She couldn’t recall the last time she felt wanted or needed and it tugged at her chest.
Her wall of denial had crumbled, and the hot tears slid down her cheeks. She’d been lonely, had been for a while, but when other people noticed, it stung more than she liked.
The bright sky faded to navy, the stars flickering on in anticipation of lighting the night sky. Y/N longed for whatever was beyond the Earth’s atmosphere, up where those stars sparkled even brighter.
Y/N had always dreamed of being somewhere else. She felt as if she didn’t belong here that she was destined for more than a mundane office job and daydreaming of the world beyond the solar system. One day, somehow, she knew she’d fly away from this place and find somewhere that she belonged.
A bright flash streaked across the sky, a shooting star. Y/N grinned, shuffling to the edge of her seat, ready to make her wish. Until she realised the light was getting bigger. Her eyes widened as she watched the flaming ball crash into the woodland in the distance.
Y/N scrambled to her feet; the blanket was forgotten until she fell to the ground. Knees scraping against the concrete. The tangled fabric was pushed away, and she gingerly rolled up her sweatpants; luckily, it was only a scrape, nothing to worry about.
She jumped up, grabbed her phone, and rushed down the fire escape. Once inside, she slid on her fluffy socks along the hardwood floor then hopped around to put her sneakers on while trying to grab her backpack. Luckily, she made it out without an accident.
Minutes later she was navigating the roads to the woodlands, her body hummed with adrenaline and her mind raced with wonder; what was it? A meteor? A spaceship? Aliens? Oh shit. What if it weren’t friendly? What if the Avengers showed up? She wasn’t sure she cared as she swerved the car off the road and into the empty parking lot, kicking up gravel and dust. This was an opportunity she wouldn’t let pass her by.
Y/N eagerly dived out of the car, made sure her sneakers were laced and her phone was in her pocket and jogged up the main path to the woodland. Before long, her clammy skin began sticking to her cardigan. She pulled it off and wrapped it around her waist. Her eagerness to get to the crash site and all the possibilities of what it could be, she hadn’t realised how far off the beaten path she was.
The moon was her only source of light, but the towering trees made it seem as if it were playing hide and seek on the ground. She put on her phone’s flashlight, her heart racing as she stumbled along the less maintained route.
Her eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness as the flashlight remained trained on the ground. Nerves bubbled in her stomach and her legs began to shake as she neared the potential landing site.
A faint orange glow flickered against the tree trunks, the air thick and sticky with fumes. Y/N picked up her pace, approaching the smoke that billowed from the wreckage and the flames licking at the grass. Light and ash that spit out from the chewed-up metal.
She raised her arm, shielding her eyes from the bright glare so she could access the wreckage. It wasn’t any kind of spaceship she’d seen before. It didn’t look like the ones from the attack on New York or reported after The Blip. It was small, could fit one adult at most.
A groan rang out nearby and she whipped around to see a man, a human man, fall to the floor a few meters away. In a flash, she landed on her knees, pain shooting through the already damaged skin, and rolled the person over, pulling at the red leather jacket.
Y/N placed her cheek near their face and relaxed when she felt their light breath caressing her skin. Her fear subsided, and she was finally able to look at the man, her heart fluttered at his rugged look; the stubble scattered across his jawline, a gash across his cheek and his fluffy dirty blond hair.
The crackle of the flames and the metal whining behind caught her attention again. She hauled him away from the ship, afraid they were in danger of being burnt. After a few tugs, she fell backwards onto her bottom. Another groan came from the man below her and she hoped she hadn’t hurt him. She looked down at the handsome spaceman, his head rising from her lap with a deep frown and eyes scrunching with confusion.
“Hi,” Y/N spoke softly, hoping not to alarm him.
He shuffled slightly, trying to turn and brace his hand on the ground but gripped her thigh. She watched the realisation dawn on his face, he looked up at her and back down between her legs, a huge grin across his face, “Well this isn’t a first.”
Y/N shoved him backwards and scrambled away.
He planted his arms to avoid face planting the ground and turned to the wreckage. “What the hell- Oh man, look at this,” He jumped to his feet and began inspecting and discarding chunks of metal and wires. “No, no, no!”
Y/N was frozen to the spot, her thoughts blank as she watched the man dash around the wreckage, throwing items over his shoulder in obvious frustration.
After a moment, she stood up and raised her arms in defence. “Maybe you should sit down, you did just crash landed.”
“I need to get back to my ship.”
He may have looked human, but if he had a spaceship, he clearly wasn’t. Oh shit, I’m talking to an alien.
“I can help,” she stuttered before clearing her throat, willing herself to not sound so defenceless or unsure. “But please don’t hurt me,” She pleaded.
He stopped mid-throw, the mangled metal hovering over his shoulder, and twisted on the balls of his feet to look at her. His piercing blue eyes alert, an exaggerated gape in his mouth before he spoke, “I’m not going to hurt you, you turd blossom.”
Y/N blinked at his insult, uncertain how to process being called a turd blossom. He walked towards her and she stepped backwards as he grew closer until her back was against a tree. He rested his arm above her head, leaning against the trunk, a cheeky grin forming on his face.
“So, I’m a little stuck and need a little help with contacting my ship.”
Y/N shoved him away, “Your smoldering isn’t going to work on me.”
“Smoldering?! I was not smoldering.” He stuttered and held up a mangled item that looked like a walkie talkie. “Do you have anything that can help fix this or a way I can contact my ship so I can get off this crappy planet?”
Y/N paced back and forth, she wasn’t sure what to say or do, her mouth opened and closed. Of course, she had a radio back at her apartment, but she wasn't going to let a stranger into her home. Y/N knew it was crazy, but she had to help him. She spun around and pointed at him, he looked from side to side as if looking for someone else.
“Yes, you! I will take you somewhere that has a radio. But no funny business.”
He crossed his heart, dramatically and she rolled her eyes. “Follow me.” She spun on her heels, “Are you coming or - what’s your name?”
He jogged up to Y/N’s side and matched her speed, “Starlord.”
She paused, mid-step, chuckling, “Is that your name?”
“Yes! I’m a famous outlaw.” His brows furrowed and his jaw set.
“A famous outlaw that calls people turd blossoms,” she chuckled, “what are you wanted for, crappy insults?”
He scoffed and from the corner of her eye she noticed him smirk though he sounded offended, “a whole list of things that if you knew about, you’d be shocked.”
“Got it, you're a real bad guy, Starlord.”
This time he really was offended, “do you have a better name?”
She snickered and couldn’t help herself, “Galaxy Princess.”
He laughed loudly up at the sky, “I like you Galaxy Princess,” he admitted.
She dropped her head to watch her feet and tried to stifle the happy grin that wanted to break out on her face.
One short car journey filled with awkward silence later, they were in Y/N’s apartment, and inside the box room. A desk and computer on one side, the opposite wall filled with pictures, newspaper clippings and maps of Earth and the solar system. Embarrassment tingled on Y/N’s cheeks as she began to clear the mess of takeout containers and used coffee cups that were on her desk.
The radio unit was pulled forward and she passed the mouthpiece to him. Noting how dazed he was by all the assorted items in the room, picking them up and inspecting them as he’d never seen a tablet or Bluetooth speaker before. Then she remembered, alien. His technology was far more advanced.
“Here, if your spaceship is in our atmosphere it should pick up this signal.” Y/N flicked at the switches and turned the dials; white noise unleashed into the room until it went almost silent apart from a faint buzz.
Starlord stared at the equipment and muttered under his breath, “I can’t believe that I actually wish Rocket was here.”
Y/N ignored the comment, he hadn’t wanted her to hear what he’d said, “Do you know what frequency your ship uses or anything that would help connect to the comms unit?”
“Of course, I know what frequency my ship uses.” He stepped around her and started to fiddle with the dials, white noise filling the room once more. He winked and gave her a lopsided grin, like the one earlier when his face was in her lap. “It’s my ship. I know the frequency. Yep.”
To save Starlord the embarrassment of having no clue, Y/N turned her focus to the broken device he had brought with him. Metal scratched, wires exposed and broken. With enough technical knowledge, she realised it was more of a transmitter than a radio.
“I think I might be able to fix this, but I don’t have anything that resembles these parts.” Y/N didn’t realise he was right behind her and bumped into him with a surprised yelp.
“Woah there!” He steadied her with his hands on her arms, “Didn’t mean to make you jump,” he said as she turned to face him. She felt the blush spread over her cheeks and he smiled, “Unless you did that on purpose. Considering you like my smoldering,” he winked.
“I didn’t say I liked your smoldering, I said it wouldn’t work on me.”
Y/N hoped that he didn’t have superpowers otherwise he’d hear the pounding of her heart but what unnerved her more than his proximity, was that she couldn’t work out if she was scared or captivated. It was definitely the latter. His thumbs rubbed softly and sparked a shiver. Her thoughts caught back up to her and she led them into the kitchen and grabbed the first aid kit off the shelf.
“So how did you end up in an escape pod?” She asked, moving into the lounge.
“Ha. I don’t think you’ve got time for the long story,” he said as she perched on the couch. “So, I’ll give you the short version.” He joined her and reclined back into the cushions.
“I’m happy with either,” Y/N offered, turning to face him, with an acute awareness of her knee brushing against his thigh. “May I?”
Starlord glanced down, noticing their closeness and her fiddling with the box. His chest inflated, proud and a smug smile; he was eager to let her tend to his wounds and talk of his heroism and escape from evil.
He cleared his throat before sinking further into the couch, “I’m more than willing to oblige a beautiful woman with my stories, sweetheart.”
Y/N snorted and began to clean the gash on his cheek while he explained how his crew’s mission hadn’t gone to plan. It was supposed to be simple; get on the spaceship and pick up the wanted person then to collect the bounty. Y/N watched him tell the story in between winces of the antiseptic wipe; the way his eyes lit up as he retold the plan and mentioned his companions; Rocket and Groot.
She wanted to know more but she was distracted by his animated expressions. Gosh, he’s handsome, Y/N blushed at her thoughts, “will you stop moving. I can’t fix this if you don’t hold still.”
Y/N was grateful for him not seeing the embarrassment and refrained from moving erratically so she could apply the butterfly stitches. He continued with how he hadn’t expected the spaceship to have a bunch of Kree and Sakaarans on board. She bounced in her seat, the excitement taking over at the mention of the alien races.
Starlord chuckled at her enthusiasm, “I’ll tell you more about them bastards later. The escape pod was my only option, but it malfunctioned after it took several hits from the attack shuttles.”
Y/N clamped a hand over her mouth, in fear and amazement that he’d managed to land it somewhat safely and without extensive injury. She felt shy under Starlord’s scrutiny and the way he was likely to judge the brightness in her eyes, the intrigue she had for life beyond earth.
“Now I’m stranded on Earth and have no way of communicating with my crew back on the Milano.” He shrugged his shoulders, “Luckily I had a beautiful woman come to my rescue.”
Y/N pretended not to hear those words as the weight of the night’s events hit her suddenly and she tried to stifle the yawn, “Sorry, can we have a look at this in the morning?”
“Sure.” His bright smile dropped a fraction, he recovered it but not in time for her to miss.
Spare bedding was placed on the sofa and Y/N directed him around the apartment, “The shower is just down the hall. If you can’t sleep, here’s the tv remote and help yourself to food.”
“Thank you, Princess.”
“Goodnight, Starlord.”
“It’s Peter.” His cheeky smile had faded to something softer.
“Y/N. Goodnight Peter.”
“Sweet dreams, Y/N.” He laid down and continued to wave until she shut the bedroom door.
Y/N was too tired to process that she was leaving a stranger on his own, in her home. There was an odd comfort from his determination to get back to his ship and crew; the place he belonged.

MACK clutched her head in her hands, her back resting sharply against the car wheel as her chest rose and fell rapidly, her lungs struggling to keep up with her breaths. Tears streaked down her face like paint and her eyes were swollen with fear as she stared down at his body.
Ben's head rested sickeningly in a pool of deep crimson, his eyes frozen open like a deer in headlights, unblinking and unflinching. His nose was bloodied, his clothes scuffed and ripped and his chest looked nauseatingly con-caved. Mack chocked backed sob, covering her mouth with her hand. The more she stared at him, the more the reality sunk in.
She killed someone.
She killed him.
Someone she new, someone she once loved. She killed him. Someone who was worshiped at her school, someone whose name was on every certificate, every trophy. Someone who new her mum, her dad her sister.
A demented scream ripped from her throat like a banshee, her vocals straining to make a sound that sinister and that piercing. She kept going. Her world collapsed, crumbling like sand around her until only grit remained. She would go to jail. She would be sentenced to death. She would have to leave her dad. She would have to leave Kai. Mack's thoughts swooped through her like vultures, praying off her emotions like they were merely insignificant worms or insects.
The tainted sound stopped at the feeling of warm breath tickling against her ear. Welcomed hands on her shoulders. Comforting words whispered by a soothing voice.
"Shhh. Shh. Sweetheart, I need you to listen to me." Kai cooed gently, tucking some hair behind Mack's ear and tilting her head to face him with his finger and thumb on her chin. "No one is going to find out, okay? Just - just do exactly as I say." Kai's blue eyes were so calming, soft okie the ocean - blue and dazzling with sparks of hope like the theory of salt that littered wave tops and swells. "Can you do that for me, sweetheart?" He persisted and Mack managed a nod. "Good."
Kai stood up again, moving from his crouched position in front of Mack and over to where Ben's body menacingly taunted him. Kai scrunch up his nose, gathering saliva at the back of his throat before spitting over Ben. He hoisted the boy's body up, as arm under each armpit as he dragged Ben into the tree line that outlined the small road like thick, black marker in a child's painting. Setting his body down at the bottom of a tree, Kai sprinted over to his car, opening the door and flinging the glove box open.
He rummaged through it, tossing unwanted items on the seat like a scene out of a movie. That was until he came across what he wanted.
A small teddy-bear. Small enough to fit in the palm of Kai's hand; stuffing bursting through the seams, button eyes clinging on by strangled, old threads and ears half ripped off. He enclosed his hands around it, eyes rolling back and a small groan passing his lips as the glow emitted an orange hue. A warmth spread throughout him, filling his veins like a drug. Kai missed this feeling, the feeling of magic running through him. The adrenaline was heavy now, coursing through him just like the magic and aiding him as he ran back to Ben as fast as he could.
He bent down beside the body, arms held out and palms hovering over the torso and he muttered incantations and Latin phrases.
Scatters of ash floated upwards as spread densely to the sides, flaking off like tissue paper. The embers scorned the sides, titian hues edging them and creating a malevolent glow around them. When the ash cleared and the air thinned, clearing of magic, only an empty spot of grass that boarded the broad roots of the tree remained, all evidence of Ben's body disintegrated and nestling into the forest floor like any other leaf or decaying plant.
An abrupt grunt brought Kai back to present, making his head turn suddenly in the direction of Mack.
"Kenz?" He asked tentatively, but was merely met with another grunt, "Kenz, you're really scaring me." Kai said as he made his was round the car until he was face to face with her.
Then the screaming started. Mack collapsed to the floor from where she'd managed to stand to, her leg snapping in an unnatural manner. Then she jerked to the left, another scream ripping from her throat menacingly as her bones seemed to crack and break - her body distorting into a creature. Kai's head tilted to look at the moon, hanging mockingly, a full, bright, Pearl-white circle in the dark, spotted sky.
A sharp gasp pierced through the air, Kai's breath turning into a small cloud of icy white. It was a full moon. He looked back to make quickly, her form now hunted over, resting on all fours with her head dipped.
Mack's head rose from where it's been bowed, her eyes glowing with an intense fusion of gold, pain and fury. Her top lip pulled back threateningly, unveiling a pair of fangs which protruded uncomfortably over her bottom lip like small knives. All trace of Mack was gone, besides her hair and torn-up, blood-splattered clothes. A feral growl tore from her and Kai's eyes widened, his mind finally processing the situation in full.
And that's when he ran.
Kai ran, fast. As fast as he could; along the tarmac road, his converse crunching against the gravel grossly as he sprinted back to his Jeep. Looking back, Mack no longer chased him. No. It wasn't Mack - it was a monster. It's fur ran silky over its skin, dark silvers mixed with blacks, whites and yellowy-browns, it's eyes burned gold and it's ears stood to attention in the bitter wind whipping around them. It's paws were huge - as big as Kai's feet, maybe even bigger, and it's tail was a swooshing sweep of death behind it. Kai swallowed thickly, his hand resting on the door-handle now, tugging desperately and flinging the car open wide.
He clambered in, slamming the door just in time as the wolf scraped its claws down the side of the door. Kai winced at the screeching sound, cringing at the thought of the huge scratches that would be there now. He desperately tried turning his keys in the ignition but it cut short. He tried again and again, the sound of her clawing at his door making the desperation grow stronger.
After a short while Kai gave up, slumping into his seat and burying his face him his hands and hoping that she'd soon leave.
Mack didn't. She remained relentless, scratching and scraping at his car all night long. Kai can't remember when, but at some point he must've fallen asleep, as the whole world went black and all nosies were drained out.
...
The pale sun peaked over the trees, illuminating the dark road with a creamy-white light that shone over the sticky tarmac and leaves and grass glistened with the morning frost. Kai sat up slowly in his seat, groaning at his aching body and slowly peering out the window. Nothing was there. She had gone.
He slowly opened his car door, climbing out the black jeep and wincing at the damage done to his vehicle.
Long, jagged lines of scratchy sliver-grey were clawed down the doors, over the bonnet and the windows were scattered in lines of blue where the panes had been scraped. As he wandered around the car, Kai stopped in his tacks upon seeing Mack sprawled out over the floor, her shaking, naked frame shivering in the frosted grass. He rushed over to her, grounding slowly beside the girl and quickly shedding his coat. He spread it over her, pulling Mack's head into his lap for a moment and stroking her hair calmingly. When she didn't stir, he gently collected her into his arms, walking cautiously over to his car and placing her in the back seat. He looked at her, sighing as pressing a quick kiss to her forehead.
While he drove back to Mack's house, Kai's divers gripped the steering wheel tightly and his thoughts spiralled. Could he ever look at her the same? Of course he could, she was his best friend, his... well, friend. The girl he lo-
What? He didn't love her. No. He just cared deeply for her, felt hurt when she was hurt, wanted to cry when she cried, felt immense joy when she was happy, could barely stand to spend more than a few hours away from her, not touching her, not kissing her-
Holy shit. He loved her. He was in love with his best friend, his fuck buddy. Kai's mind was sent into overdrive, his senses buzzing off adrenaline, but they were soon interrupted by a low groan from the backseat. He looked back slightly, keeping one eye trained on the road ahead of them.
"Rise and shine, sweet cheeks." He quipped cheerfully, smirking as Amelie sat up, the coat falling from her chest and giving Kai a perfect view of her breasts from the rear-view mirror. He whistled and she frowned. "Fuck, you have nice tits." Kai grinned and Mack's eyes widened. She instantly reached for the coat, pulling it up over her chest and holding it there with one hand.
"Kai!" She exclaimed as he started to laugh.
"It's nothing I haven't seen before, sweetheart. And it definitely isn't something I wouldn't mind seeing again." He mentioned with a wink and she scowled at him. Then her eyes finally caught onto the scratches and scraped littering her shoulders, her legs, her feet, her hands. She gasped, holding her arms out in front of herself and examining her hands. The coat dropped again and Kai went back to his marvelling. Mack soon realised, pulling it over herself again.
"Stop doing that!" She said and Kai chuckled.
"I'm not doing anything, sweetheart. You can't blame your own...clumsiness on my intuition to see you naked." He smirk and she stuck her tongue out at him. "I'd be careful if I were you, babe, or I might get you to put the tongue to a better use." He winked and she gasped again, slumping back into the seats and crossing her arms over her chest.
They pulled into her drive, Kai stopping the car and walking round to Mack's door. He opened it, scooping the girl into his arms and kicking it shit with his foot.
"Kai!" She screamed, giggling as he walked with her in his arms. "Put me down!" She demanded, hitting his chest with her fists and kicking her legs.
"And let your dad think I'm less than the gentleman I made myself out to be last night? Nuh uh, babe." He quipped and Mack huffed, settling into his arms and he blindly opened the door to her house.
"You're back." Ian sighed, standing swiftly from the couch and crossing over to Kai, patting him on the shoulder and thanking him. "You're a good kid, thank you so much for helping us." He said in Kai's ear as the boy let Mack down and she scrambled off to her room. Ian sighed again, sitting down on the sofa and patting the spot beside him.
Kai tentatively sat beside him, kindly refusing when Ian offered him a beer, saying it was too early. They sat back against the cushions, a silence filled with awkward tension settling over them.
"Look, I'm guessing you saw...her." Ian started, gesturing towards where Mack had scurried off to.
"Yeah." Kai said bluntly.
"And you're still here?" Ian prompted and Kai nodded.
"I'm not exactly...human, myself." Kai admitted and Ian's brow raised.
"You're a wolf?" He asked and Kai shook his head with an amused smile. "There's other supernatural creatures?" Ian pressed and Kai smiled.
"Yes, I am a siphon." Ian pulled a confused face, "I'm a witch that doesn't have any powers of their own - I can only draw from other magical beings." Kai explained and Ian nodded slowly.
"Hey, Kai, do you wanna maybe go out? I need some fresh air." Mack called, rounding the corner and walking into the living room, now clad in some jeans and one of Kai's sweaters. He grinned at her, pleased to see her earring his clothes.
"Sure, Kenz. Do you want to start up my car? I'll meet you out there." He suggested and she plodded off. After the sound of the door slamming reached their ears Ian turned to Kai once again.
"If you plan on hurting my daughter in any way, I will kill you." He whispered and Kai smiled. "Got it?"
"Not like you'd stand much a chance.." Kai mused. "But yes, I understand and I have no intention of letting anyone or anything hurt Kenz. I promise." Kai replied and Ian smiled.
"Now go, have fun, keep my daughter happy!"

My Little Mochi 💉
Chapter 2: Jiminie
There was nothing but silence. No matter what I said, no matter what I did, there was just no response from the broken, but beautiful boy. It was like he was frozen, stuck on pause if you like. He wouldn't move from the same spot, he was just stood in the middle of the main room staring at the wall with those deep and sorrowful eyes. I wish I knew what he was thinking at the time, so then maybe I could have helped, but it was clear to me that he wasn't going to let anyone or anything know. I mean I didn't even know his name, and I was itching to know.
I poured a glass of icy cold water and made my way back to the boy who was starting to shake a little. I tilted my head a little before holding the glass in front of the boy. "Here...I'm not quite sure if you're thirsty, but it might help calm you down a little." I started with a small smile. "It's fresh I promise" I urged him into taking it, but he wasn't moving for anything. "Come on boy...there must be something I can do to help" I sighed putting the glass of water on the coffee table.
"J-j...Jimin..." A small voice spoke out and my ears twitched a little as the voice was so sweet and soft.
"W-what did you say?" I turned too face the boy, I was so surprised and lost in the boys voice I didn't even hear him properly.
"J...Jimin...not boy" His voice replied a little unsteady and I couldn't help but smile widely showing my bunny teeth which I hated with a passion, but I just couldn't contain it.
"Jimin..." I repeated to myself. Jimin definitely fit the boys character. Adorable, quiet and fluffy. "Jiminie!" I basically yelled a little excited at the nickname that just popped into my head.
"J-Jiminie..." Jimin's gaze reached up to mine and I was so shocked that he was actually interacting with me.
"Mhm...Do you like it?" I asked just to make sure it was ok to call him it, and he just answered back with a little nod and I noticed the corner of his lips curve up slightly. I felt somewhat proud that I managed to make him smile, even if it was just a little. "Jiminie it is then!" I clicked my fingers and Jimin clapped his hands together before shuffling a little closer to me. "Are you hungry Jiminie?" I continued a little worried that he hadn't eaten at all. Jimin replied with a shake of his head. "You're not much of a talker are you?" I questioned looking down at him and he shook his head again before looking down like he had done something wrong. I placed a hand on his bare shoulder which made Jimin flinch a little, so I pulled it away quickly noticing how much it affected him..."It's ok...I won't hurt you...I don't know what happened before, but I'm here to look after you, that's what I intend to do" I reassured, before I could say anything else Jimin reached out his small, cute and slightly chubby hands and took the glass of water I had placed on the coffee table mere minutes ago and he quickly downed it desperately. "Wow...you were thirsty" I chuckled a little and when he looked up I could see the embarrassment in his face, as his cheeks turned a deeper shade of red. "Don't worry, you can drink as much as you want. I have plenty more where that came from" I continued to chuckle as I sat down on the couch making room for Jimin to sit next to me. I patted the space and gestured for Jimin to join me. "Come sit with me. We can watch whatever you want" I smiled softly. The hesitation in his eyes was clear as day, yet he still slowly shuffled his way over to the seat next to me. As he sat down he shimmied as far away from me as he possibly could. I guess he didn't fully trust me, which was understandable, he'd only known me for less then an hour..."Anything you'd like to watch?" I asked turning to Jimin who was bouncing his knees up and down uncontrollably. I started to flick through the channels waiting for a response from Jimin, but he didn't seem to have a reaction to any channel. "Nothing peaks an interest huh? Well don't blame you...nothing ever good on TV these days" I stated and then I noticed Jimin staring at a certain DVD on the coffee table. It was 'Avengers'. "You like Avengers?" I questioned picking up the DVD case. Jimin chewed on his bottom lip before nodding nervously. "Who's your favourite?" I continued and Jimin suddenly lit up before desperately pointing at the picture of The Hulk on the front cover. "Ahhh you like The Hulk...I like Iron Man" I admitted showing off my Iron Man socks which won a giggle from Jimin and in that moment my heart skipped a beat. His giggle was so gentle and smooth...I wanted to hear it again..."I'll put it on for you then" I nodded before placing it in the DVD player ready to press play. I then caught a glimpse of Jimin's milky white skin. It looked just like porcelain, so delicate. It was extremely distracting. "Umm Jiminie, would you like to borrow a top?" I asked shuffling in my seat a little, this made Jimin pull up the sleeve of his shirt and jumper to cover his revealed shoulder, then he shook his head to say no. "Are you sure? I don't mind, and you're shoulder won't get cold" I explained. It took Jimin a few long seconds to think, then he looked up to me with a small gulp before nodding and mouthing a small 'please'
I made my way into my room before opening the drawer full of my plain white t's, the only problem was they were all oversized. I tried to find the smallest size I had, purely because Jimin seemed to have a small figure. The only small size I had was a large, yet it still looked like it would drown him. I shrugged and took it back to Jimin anyway. "Here you go Jiminie, you can wear this. It might be a little big, but it shouldn't be as bad as the ones you're wearing now" I handed it to Jimin who took it with his smol hands. He looked around a little anxiously and I was confused to say the least. "Something wrong Jiminie?" I asked and he just looked down at the top then back to me. It took me awhile to catch on, but I realised what he meant in the end. "Aish, sorry Jiminie...I'll turn around" I apologised before turning around to give him some privacy. The urge to turn around just to catch a glimpse of his doll like skin was unreal...lucky for me there was a mirror that showed me Jimin changing into the top. I felt a little guilty and perverted, but holy mother of all things perfect it was worth it. What I saw wasn't what I was expecting at all. His chest was muscular and you could see his collarbones clearly sticking out. My eyes travelled down a little further and my jaw dropped. My eyes were stuck on his perfectly toned abs...They weren't too hard either, they were subtle and that's what made them even more irresistible. I was surprised to say the least. This cute and shy boy had a body like a god...I could see the V line starting at his torso, but at that point I knew my limits and I looked away, even though I would have loved to have seen the whole thing...
I heard the shuffling of Jimin's body then a sudden light tap on my shoulder. I turned around and Jimin was wearing my oversized top and only my oversized top. He had taken his jeans off too, showing off his thighs and I could feel my cheeks burning up. I covered my mouth in order to stop any unwanted noises escaping. He looked beyond cute...beyond perfect...he was an angel.
"t-thank you..." Jimin choked a little and my eyes glistened as I watched him get comfy on the couch. I had to pry myself away from staring too long. The last thing I wanted was to make him feel uncomfortable. "Y-you ready?" I asked with a small stutter and Jimin replied with his usual small nod. I pressed play and the movie started. I did well to focus at first, but my attention slowly began to divert to Jimin. I was intrigued to see his reaction to the film and honestly I was so glad to see how happy he looked. He was so invested in the film, he rarely blinked. I loved watching how he would get excited every time The Hulk came on the screen and how he would lean forward in his seat just to get a closer look at all the action scenes.
As the film went on I noticed how Jimin's eyes started to slowly close, then he let out a little yawn. I watched as he slowly laid his head down on the side allowing himself to fall into a deep slumber. I waited until the film was finished, even though I wasn't paying much attention to it, I just wanted to make sure Jimin was lost in sleep. I stood up once the film was over and turned off the TV before admiring the heavenly breaths Jimin was giving out as he curled up to the edge of the couch. I finally decided to pick him up in my arms gently. As I did I heard a soft mumble, and I lulled a little melody in hope to send him into his deep slumber and to my luck it did. He turned in my arms and snuggled his head into my shirt. I felt a little flushed and as much as I would have loved to have slept with Jimin like this, I knew it wasn't fair on him, so I took little steps towards one of the many spare rooms in the house. I put him the closest room to mine, just incase something we're to happen.
I carefully lowered him down onto the bed before tucking him in and checking he was fully covered. Once I was satisfied I looked down at the sleeping Jimin who had curled up into foetus position. I pulled myself away from him and turned out the light before closing the door.
It had been a long night...when I checked the time it was 5 in the morning. I stretched out my arms with a loud yawn before heading to the comfort of my own bed. I was still mesmerised by the holy site of Jimin...He was so perfect beyond belief. It was hard to believe someone like him even existed, and for such a boy like him to go through a traumatic experience...I couldn't even begin to think what it was...
