You had almost made it.
The tree line had been so close, the dark mouth of the forest waiting to swallow you, promising safety if you could just reach it. Your lungs burned, and your legs ached, but you pushed harder, feet slamming against the cold dirt as you ran.
Just a little further, and you were out.
You had spoken too soon– a force collided into you from behind.
You hit the dirt hard, your breath knocked from your lungs, panic flaring as you twisted, kicking, thrashing. But he was stronger, movements calculated with purpose. You barely managed to claw at his arm before he seized your wrists, pinning them above your head, his weight pressing you down.
“Easy.” He murmured, like he wasn’t holding you against the ground like he wasn’t the reason your people were dead. His grip tightened as you bucked beneath him, but his voice remained maddeningly calm, “Ain’t gonna hurt ya, sweetheart. No need to make it harder than it needs to be.”
You screamed, not for him, not for mercy– you knew better than that. You screamed for the ones you loved, for the pain that burned in your veins.
And he let you.
He didn’t flinch, didn’t tell you to shut the fuck up, didn’t strike you for your defiance. He simply let you break all with a sickeningly sweet smile on his face. Looking up at him, you had to guess he was around forty to fifty, with grey streaks in his hair matching the specs of salt that made up his beard. You faltered for a moment as he peered into your soul with big brown eyes– ones that might’ve come off as kind before the world had gone to shit.
The feeling of his arms around your wrists brought you back to the present, how he seemed anything but kind. You spat venom with your words, anything you could think of to make him let you go, but when your voice cracked, when the fight in your limbs began to falter, that was when he finally moved.
“Shhh.” he murmured, one large hand slipping behind your head. You hadn’t even realized you were crying until his thumb swiped over your cheek, smearing the tears away. “S’alright. You’re alright.”
His touch was gentle. Too gentle.
It made you hate him more.
“Fuck you.” you rasped, your voice raw from overexertion.
He huffed, something like amusement flickering across his face. “You got a mouth on you, huh?” Then, without warning, he hoisted you up, slinging you over his shoulder with terrifying ease.
You clawed at his back, beating your fists against him, kicking and thrashing against him wildly. He barely stumbled, continuing on. You tried your best to hurt him, though it wasn’t possible as he hurt you more than you could ever return.
You fisted the fabric of his green flannel, yanking and tugging, “Let me go.” You thrashed, desperate, but he only adjusted his grip, holding you tighter.
“Not gonna happen, Darlin.” he drawled, “You’re mine now.”
That was the last thing you heard before you succumbed to exhaustion.
When you woke up, your head was pounding, and the ache that wracked throughout your body wasn’t even close to subsiding. You sat up, trying to bring your fingers to your temples when you felt the resistance of something holding you in place. You attempted again, your hand only coming up to your chest, unable to reach any farther.
“Quit that.”
His voice was low and rough, causing you to cease movement altogether. You looked up from your spot, a beat-up mattress on a wooden floor. He sat on a chair, his cold gaze illuminated by the flames of a nearby fireplace. His expression was unreadable, eyes an eerie calm that sent a shiver down your spine. You yanked at your hand harder. His gaze never left you as the panic settled in. You struggled to focus your eyes in the dimly lit room when you discovered the source of your immobility– you were bound by a thick rope tied snugly on both wrists.
You pulled harder each time, feeling like your heart would beat out of your chest. Your breaths became short, the feeling of being trapped sending you into a frenzy. Your throat tightened, trying to find the voice to scream. His gaze softened as he sat up from his chair, the thud of his boots against the floorboards as he moved closer to you. You scooted away from him, still tugging at the restraints despite your attempts being futile.
He crowed down beside the mattress to look you in the eyes, “Stop that, you’re gonna hurt yourself.”
You scoffed at the absurdity of his words. He had you tied down, took you by force– and somehow had the audacity to be concerned about you getting hurt?
“You, of all people, don’t get to tell me what to fucking do.” You spat, “Let me go.”
He shifted on the floor, taking a seat on the mattress with you, the cushioning sinking a bit with his weight. He reached over and closed the distance between you, his cool fingers grazing the rope that bound you to his mercy. His touch was soft—almost affectionate.
“They’ll come off soon enough.” He murmured, pulling his hand back softly, “Gotta earn it first.”
He stood up, grabbing the rifle that rested on the chair he previously sat in, leaving you in the dark save for the flames of the dimly lit fire.
You thrashed around until you fell to exhaustion.
You didn’t eat.
You refused to give him the satisfaction– to let him win.
He didn’t force you, never shoved the food down your throat or yelled at you. It was like clockwork every day; he set a plate in front of you on the floor, and he’d look at you once, letting the silence linger for a bit before he’d up and left.
As the days passed, hunger gnawed at you, leaving you with a noticeable burning in your stomach. You tried to ignore it, trying to focus on biting through the rope with your teeth– you’d told yourself that it was working until he had walked in one day spotting you gnawing viciously on the material. He laughed, Kevlar rope used in the military. I hate to break it t’ya sweetheart, but y’cant chew through it s’impossible.
The door creaked open, and you didn’t bother looking up. You knew it was him in the way the air seemed to shift, in the steady, unhurried sound of his boots against the floorboards. You kept your gaze fixed on the floor, refusing to look at him.
He only sighed. He always did when he’d see your untouched plate, Y’hafta eat darlin’ gotta keep that belly full, but it’s okay, you’ll come around. It looked cold and unappetizing. The sound he let out wasn’t impatient, wasn’t angry. Just expectant. Like he had already known what he would find before stepping inside.
The scrape of heavy feet dragging across the floor caused you to glance over. He was crouched in front of you, knees bent, forearms resting on his thighs, plate in hand. A fresh one. Warm. The scent of venison filled the space between you.
"Y’gotta eat, baby." He was trying to coax you,  "Know you’re stubborn, but you ain’t gonna win this one."
You turned your head, jaw clenching.
He exhaled through his nose, then dipped a fork into the food, gathering a bite of meat and potato. He held it up to hover near your lips, "C’mon." he said it so softly, despite the fact that everything about him was the complete opposite.
You swallowed hard, the grumble of your unfed stomach giving you away. You wanted to resist. You should resist. But the hunger had chipped away at you. You felt weak, and the food was right there and if you just leaned in, you could taste it.
He waited.
You slowly parted your lips, he let The moment the food touched your tongue, you caved. You wanted to spit it in his face to make him hate you and drop that gentle facade he was putting up, but before you could stop yourself, you chewed, swallowed, and let out a small, involuntary sigh.
"Atta girl."
Your breath hitched.
His voice was warm, laced with something close to pride. He scooped up another bite, lifting it to your lips, his eyes locked onto yours, "Good girl. See, s’not so hard to listen, is it?"
You hated the way your body reacted. The way the words settled into you, burrowing somewhere deep. You hated that you didn’t recoil, that you didn’t spit the food back out just to defy him. You opened your mouth again, and he fed you every piece of meat and potato on the plate down to the last drop of sauce.
"Think I can sleep beside y’now—without you tryin’ anythin."
You probably misheard him because of the way he said it, just like that. No warning, no hesitation. Like it was simple, like it was natural. Your body tensed up. He was already stripping off his jacket, moving around the cabin like it was a normal thing to do– just sleep beside his captive on a disgusting mattress on the floor in a cold, dingy cabin.
"No," you said immediately, your voice firm, "No– I don’t want—"
"Ain’t askin', baby."
And that was the end of it.
That night, you lay curled up on the farthest edge of the mattress, your back turned from him, it was impossible to relax despite being free of the ropes. He undid them for you saying it would be more comfortable to sleep though that didn’t fix the problem of the cold. You shivered, the warmth of the fire barely reaching you, but you refused to move– you’d freeze if you had to. You didn't want any part of yourself getting too close to him, and it was clear since you were almost halfway off the mattress, feet touching the floor.
But still, he didn’t touch you. Didn’t force you. But he was there, and that alone was enough to make your skin crawl.
You couldn’t sleep. How could you? That fucking monster was a mere inches away from you. Who knows what he’d do– maybe he was waiting for you to fall asleep. Though, deep down you knew he wouldn’t do anything. There wasn’t anything he could do right now that he couldn’t have done when you were tied to the mattress.
It went on like that for days. You noticed something strange– his breath never evened out when he was next to you. It stayed irregular. You could envision even when your back stayed turned away from him. Nights were spent with his presence looming beside you, heat radiating from his body, but never taking the step to reach it. You should’ve been relieved that he didn’t force the closeness and allowed you both to stay on your respective sides.
But the longer it went on, the more you felt the space between you two.
You hated the way your body became aware of it. How, after enough nights, it wasn’t the proximity that made your stomach twist but the space.
Then, one night, the cold crept in more than usual. The fireplace burned lowly, barely a flicker of warmth against the incessant chill. The blankets were thin, your clothes weren’t enough, and no matter how tightly you curled into yourself, the shivers wouldn’t stop.
Before you knew it and before you could stop yourself, you moved. It was slow and uncertain—shifting your weight– creeping your back toward the solid warmth behind you. You felt the moment he noticed. The way his breath deepened slightly, the way the mattress dipped as he tensed. He didn’t speak or move.
But he waited.
Your heartbeat pounded in your ears as you lingered there, just on the edge of his heat, close enough that you could feel it trying to pull you in. You stayed in that position for a minute– waiting for something, anything, yet you didn’t know what. You squeezed your eyes shut at the absurdity of it all, shame burning bright in your stomach. You hated this. Hated what it meant. Hated that you wanted—needed.
The second you dared to move a fraction of an inch closer, your body brushed against his. That was enough for him as his arm slid around you in an instant, pulling you back against him like it was something he had been waiting for. He had known, even before you did, that this was inevitable.
His warmth enveloped you, soothing you from everything he had inflicted on you. It was funny. The same man who put you in this position was the one you were reaching for. Felt safe with.
You should have fought it. You should have shoved him away and reminded him that you didn’t want this and that you hated him for what he did. But you didn’t. Instead, you breathed in, slow and deep, your body molding against his. He was warm. He was steady. And after so many nights of forcing yourself to stay still and reject any touch.
This felt better. It felt safer.
And the next night, when the cold settled in again, you waited. Then, when his arm came around you, pulling you in without hesitation, you let him.
The fireplace had calmed down, burning lowly, the embers dancing, casting a glow along the wooden walls you’d been confined to for however long. You lay beside him, your body still turned away, but you weren’t as tense as you had been before. But there was something scary about the way he was with you now, in these moments when the world outside didn’t exist. It should’ve scared you, yet it didn't.
You felt him shift slightly beside you, and then, after a long pause, his voice came through the quiet.
"Y’know," he murmured, his tone soft like it always was when it came to you, "Just realized... I never told you m’name."
You turned slightly, just enough to glance at him over your shoulder, brows furrowing. Of all the things you expected him to say, that wasn’t one of them mostly because you had never asked. He had never offered. He had been him—the man who took you, the man who stole your life and molded it into something terrifying. He had been a force, an inevitability. A monster.
But now, here he was, offering something strangely human.
You swallowed hard, unsure if you wanted to hear it, unsure if knowing his name would make any of this worse. But he just looked at you, and there was something almost vulnerable in his expression, something that made your stomach twist in a way that had nothing to do with fear.
"S’Joel."
The way he said it like it wasn’t just a name. It was a piece of himself, something he was handing to you willingly, without expectation.
Joel.
It settled into your bones, and you told yourself you should have ignored it. Should have pretended it didn’t mean anything, dismissed it like he hadn’t even said it.
But instead, before you could stop yourself, you whispered, "Joel."
His eyes softened as he murmured something so quiet you could’ve missed it.
"That’s it, baby girl."
For some reason, you found yourself slowly rolling over, facing him for the first time. Your breath hitched as your eyes met his—no longer the cold, unfeeling gaze of the monster you had once feared. Instead, they were softer now, warm and searching, round and brown, almost expectant like a puppy. You had spent so long refusing to look at him, refusing to acknowledge anything beyond what he had done. But now, in the stillness of the cabin, with the world outside drowned out, it was only him.
Your hands, bound by need instead of rope, reached for him, gripping onto the fabric of his shirt, pulling yourself closer. Your body pressed into his, and without thinking, without meaning to—without wanting to understand why—you clung to him.
You felt him stiffen, his breath hitching like you had done something unbelievable, something he hadn't expected. For a long moment, he didn’t move. Then, slowly, carefully, his arms wrapped around you, pulling you in like he had been waiting for this. Like it was second nature to him. His chin brushed the top of your head, his hold grounding you.
A deep exhale left him, his voice sure as his hand ran soothingly along your back, "I got you, baby girl," he murmured, his lips grazing your hair, the words sinking into your skin like a promise. "Ain’t gotta be scared o’me. I’m right here—always gonna be right here."
And for the first time, you didn’t fight it. Didn’t push him away.
You just closed your eyes and let him hold you.

part 1 part 2
THE WORK DINNER WAS meant to be a celebration—a small, intimate gathering to mark the successful completion of the project. Only the staff, cast, and a few select crew members had been invited. It wasn’t a night for grand speeches, but rather a simple appreciation for everyone’s hard work.
There had been a few exchanges of words before your arrival about the gathering among your colleagues, but it wasn’t until you stepped foot into the restaurant that you realized it had been carefully curated. The venue was beautifully decorated, with candlelit tables and a cozy, inviting atmosphere that made you feel like part of something intimate, something special.
You came to learn that it was all his idea. Seunghyun had personally arranged and booked the restaurant, ensuring the evening went smoothly—down to the smallest detail. His thoughtfulness made your heart swell. There was something about the way he took charge—a trait in a man that never failed to make you swoon. The quiet authority he carried made him even more admirable.
You weren’t the only one who noticed. You could hear the female staff whispering and giggling here and there. Though you were seated too far away to catch their conversation, you were certain they were gushing over him. Could you blame them? You were just as down bad.
There were subtle moments when he’d check in on people, ensuring everyone had a drink in hand, the way he politely but firmly kept the night on track. A few exchanged glances and smiles passed between the two of you. His smile was polite but carefully measured, nothing more than a brief flicker. But every time he smiled, the dimples in his cheeks would appear, deepening the curve of his lips in a way that, despite the professional tone, still felt unexpectedly warm. The familiar tightening sensation gripped your stomach, and the stir of butterflies rose in your chest. He could do so little, yet make you feel so much.
It was strange—these feelings you couldn’t seem to brush off. The dimly lit room made his features almost glow, despite his age. His hair slicked back, looking sharp as always. His attire was simple, yet effortlessly stylish. His hand rested casually on the table, fingers long and lean, with a faint scar running across his knuckles. You tried to pry your eyes off it, but you couldn’t help imagining what it might feel like on your skin. Who were the lucky women he’d been with, to have had the chance to feel the works of his fin–
“Babysitting your drink again?” Your train of thought was cut off by a voice. You whipped your head toward the source and saw one of your co-stars sitting next to you. He noticed you hadn’t touched your drink and checked in on you, having noticed your lack of engagement in the conversation at the table.
You snorted at his teasing remark before thinking of a response—one that didn’t give away how you were too busy gawking at Seunghyun.
“We have all night. I’m not in a rush.” Your words were casual, but your eyes couldn’t resist darting back toward Seunghyun, who was entertaining a conversation with the director. Quickly, you snapped your gaze back to the man next to you, raising an eyebrow. “Are you underestimating me?”
One drink turned into two, then three, and before you knew it, you were leaning closer to your co-star, lost in the competition of it all. Giggles and silly jokes were exchanged between the two of you.
Your banter didn’t go unnoticed by Seunghyun, who was seated across the room. Taken by surprise at your sudden closeness to his junior, he observed the way your head rested comfortably on his shoulder, your giggles filling the air—giggles caused by someone else and not him.
He felt a tightening in his chest, an emotion he couldn’t quite define, especially when it came to you. It wasn't jealousy, it couldn't be affection. You've never been close enough for feelings to grow.
The sight of you so carefree with someone picked at his skin. It left him feeling uneasy—like he was falling behind, even though he wasn't part of the race. He was never part of the competition. You weren't his to stake a claim on.
Ever since you walked in, he found himself distracted by you more often than he should. Thankfully, as an actor, he had the talent to downplay it.
You were beautiful—there was no denying it. Tonight, you wore a black dress. Simple, yes, but it clung to you in a way that was anything but. The fabric molded to every curve, hugging your body in a way that made it impossible for him not to notice the swell of your hips, the slight dip of your waist. He knew you were aware of the effect you had on men.
He felt like he needed to do something. Anything. A pull to make you notice him in a way he wasn't sure even he deserved.
Your skin was flushed, warmth radiating from your chest out to your limbs, the effects of the alcohol already seeping in. You may have let yourself loosen up a little too much tonight.
You needed air. The room felt too hot, too crowded. The noise, the laughter, the constant buzz—you were overwhelmed. You politely excused yourself to the people around and headed to the door.
The cool air greeted you as you stepped out, a sharp contrast to the heat of the room you left behind. You moved to a nearby corner, seeking a moment of silence. But to your surprise, you caught a glimpse of Seunghyun stepping toward you, a cigarette hanging loosely between his fingers. You swallowed thickly. You hadn’t even noticed he came out.
“How’s the night treating you?” His voice was low, smooth. He stopped a few feet away, studying you in a way that made your pulse jump. His eyes narrowed slightly, noticing the flush of your cheeks and the unsteady way you stood, stumbling in your heels. You were starting to get drunk.
You forced yourself to stand tall, mustering the strength to not slouch to fight off his assumption. “Good, just needed some air,” you replied, trying to sound unphased. Your words slurred slightly as you finished, “Can I have one?” Your eyes gestured toward the cigarette in his hand.
He raised an eyebrow at your blunt request, a smirk playing at the corner of his lips. There was a slight hesitation at first, but he stepped closer, holding the cigarette toward you, the ember lighting up his face. A nervous flutter twisted in your stomach at the shrinking distance between the two of you. He’d never been this close before. Your breath caught in your throat, your fingers tightened around the cigarette before he withdrew from you.
You both smoked in silence, your eyes never quite meeting his. The air was charged with tension, yet it felt like there was something unsaid hanging in the air—something neither of you was ready to address.
The smoke burned your lungs, but you didn’t mind; it was oddly calming, especially with his company beside you. There was a moment of silence before he broke it.
“You know, you really shouldn’t smoke.” His voice was laced with concern. You turned to look at him, your expression flat as you braced for the usual lecture, expecting the familiar words.
“Why? It’s not good for m—” you started, but he cut you off.
“It’ll ruin your skin.” A playful smirk tugged at the corner of his lips, almost aware of the reaction his words would pull from you. He thrived on surprising you with his unexpected humor.
You raised an eyebrow, exhaling the smoke. “Oh, is that why you’ve got such perfect skin, huh?” you played along. “Maybe you should quit before it starts to wrinkle.”
Your teasing jab made him chuckle, the sound warm and rich. But his eyes still lingered on you, even as the conversation felt like it held no real importance. He enjoyed it. More than he’d care to admit.
“I’m older than you, so I’m allowed to make bad choices,” he shot back, taking another drag. “But you? You’re too young to be smoking and ruining that pretty little face of yours.”
The unexpected compliment caught you off guard. Your heart skipped a beat, and you swore you sobered up just slightly. He’d never complimented you so directly—it felt genuine. You remembered how he’d nod and agree when you were being interviewed together, how he’d mention your attire or how you looked at an event. You thought it was just out of respect and media training—but maybe you’d learned something new today.
You scoffed, trying to dismiss his words that you’d probably think about for the next few days. Rolling your eyes, you responded, “I’m twenty-four, not twelve. I can make my own decisions.”
The conversation lingered in the air as more people filtered out of the venue, exchanging goodbyes. It was a sign for you and Seunghyun to wrap up as well. The night was coming to an end.
“It’s getting late,” his tone firm. “Let me give you a ride home.”
He felt responsible for escorting you home safely—a courtesy from an older colleague. A young woman like you, who’d had much to drink tonight… he couldn’t imagine the trouble you might find yourself in at this hour.
You blinked, surprised by the sudden offer, but you didn’t feel the need to protest. It wasn’t really a question, and he wasn’t expecting a no. “Thank you,” you muttered softly, your voice barely above a whisper. You both gathered your things and followed him to his car.
The blue of the streetlights outside the window did little to help you sober up. You felt drowsy, your eyelids heavy, your cheeks sinking into the palm of your hand that rested by the window.
The car ride was silent but not uncomfortable. It was oddly soothing, you could say.
Every so often, Seunghyun’s gaze darted to you. It was nearly impossible not to notice the way your legs were crossed, the slit of your dress riding up, exposing more of your thigh. It was a sight he shouldn’t indulge in, especially when you were in such a vulnerable state.
A tight knot of discomfort formed in his chest. He almost felt ashamed to look, but he couldn’t help it. The thought of another man seeing you made his jaw clench. If it wasn’t him by your side tonight, what kind of trouble could you have gotten into?
He cursed softly under his breath, shaking his head as if to rid himself of the improper thoughts swirling in his mind. He was your senior, a colleague you looked up to and respected. He reminded himself of the boundaries. How inappropriate it would be to look at you that way, especially being much older than you. He felt like a creep.
The car slowed to a stop as it neared your apartment building. You had dozed off somewhere along the journey, your head tilted slightly against the window. Your slumber was interrupted by a slight cough. Your eyes fluttered open.
“We’re almost here,” he said softly.
You blinked up at him, taking in the familiar streets in the background. You felt disoriented for a moment before sitting up and smoothing down the fabric of your dress. Your eyes shifted to Seunghyun beside you, the dim streetlights casting shadows along his sharp jawline.
He looked different like this—more relaxed. His dark hair, slightly tousled, fell just enough to brush against his forehead. The curve of his lips, always understated but endlessly captivating, was pulled into a neutral line. Something about him tonight felt closer than ever.
It could’ve been the alcohol making the air feel heavier—every glance, every shift in his posture, every breath between the two of you. Your heart thudded in your chest. You’d never felt this close to him before. It was just the two of you.
When the car came to a halt, you couldn’t think of a better moment than now. Maybe it was the liquid courage surging through your veins, but the moment he turned his head toward you, something snapped.
You grabbed the lapel of his dress shirt and pulled him toward you with a sudden, almost reckless boldness. Your lips caught his, the kiss fierce, filled with desire, and the build-up frustration of his lack of action you’d been holding in. Want and heat—a kiss that demanded something in return.
For a split second, Seunghyun didn’t move, caught completely off guard. But his hands didn’t push you away either. They hovered somewhere between restraint and confusion, trembling with hesitation.
A sudden rush of heat he hadn’t expected. The way you’d pulled him toward you—reckless, full of desire, but also so sudden. For a second, he felt the temptation to pull you closer, to let the moment stretch on. But then, reality struck him.
His mind raced, trying to make sense of what just happened. He had to pull away, reminding himself of the boundaries, the unspoken rules between you two. There was no room for this—not now, not like this. It wasn’t just the age difference, the professionalism—no, it was the fact that you were drunk, vulnerable in ways he hadn’t expected.
His fingers lingered around your wrist, gentle yet firm, guiding you back, but his heart was heavy with regret. It was a temptation, yes, but it was also a line he couldn’t cross. Not yet. Not in this way.
He moved slowly, as if trying to pretend nothing happened, for both your sake.
“You’ve had too much to drink,” his voice broke, gentle but firm. He wasn’t scolding, no judgment, just a quiet reminder of the boundary he was setting.
What were you thinking? Was this something young people did these days—make out with random people when drunk? Did you see him as just some old man to be toyed with? You didn’t see the weight of how this could make him feel?
His eyes searched for yours, hoping for an explanation—an expression you couldn’t read. It was like he was conflicted, but you didn’t know—or care—what mattered at this point. You were mortified at how you had just thrown yourself at him, at how he had turned you down. You wanted to sink into your seat and disappear.
It didn’t feel right to look at him— you couldn’t, heat creeping up your neck, the embarrassment suffocating and unbearable. Had you read the room wrong? You had thought—no, you had hoped—that he might kiss you. But instead, it was a rejection you hadn’t seen coming. Before he could utter another word, you fumbled with the door handle, pushing it open with more force than you intended.
“I—good night,” you stammered, your voice hoarse as you rushed out of the car.
He leaned forward slightly as if to follow, but stopped himself.
“Wait—” His voice trailed off, his hand reaching out, as if to stop you. He didn’t mean to make you feel rejected or ashamed. He didn’t know how else to respond appropriately. He couldn’t think.
He stayed in the car, watching as you sprinted away, your figure disappearing into the building.
Inside, you couldn’t shake the feeling of dread. You couldn’t believe what you had just done. How could you face him again after this? Had you misread every sign? This was a disaster. He had been so distant before, and yet you still let yourself think something could happen. How foolish. How could you even look at him now? That was a problem for another day.

Wrong Person
The bar was crowded, the vibrant music filling the air, and the lights flickered in colorful tones. You looked around, trying to distract yourself. After a tough week at university, all you wanted was to relax and enjoy the night with your best friend, Mina.
However, your plans quickly changed when Mina became enchanted by a guy—tall, handsome, and clearly interested in her.
“Go talk to him!” you encouraged her. It was obvious she wanted to.
“We came here to unwind. I’m not going to leave you alone,” she hesitated.
“It’s okay, don’t worry. We came here to have fun, so go get him, girl,” you smiled, giving her a little push.
She smiled back before making her way toward him.
Not long after, they disappeared into a more private area, out of your sight. Now alone, you tried not to let it bother you. It was true that you had told Mina you didn’t mind, but in reality, the last thing you wanted was to be alone. You attempted to distract yourself—scrolling through your phone, observing the people around you—and, since you were at a bar, you figured you might as well get a drink.
The first one went down easily. The second did too. Before you knew it, the third was on its way. The bitter taste of alcohol barely registered as you focused on feeling less out of place.
However, as the alcohol took effect, a wave of dizziness hit you. The voices around you blurred together, the music pounded in your head, and suddenly, everything felt distant. You tried texting Mina, letting her know you wanted to leave since she was your ride, but after waiting a few minutes with no response, you figured she wouldn’t see your message anytime soon.
The discomfort grew, and you suddenly realized how vulnerable you were. Not knowing what else to do, you decided the right thing was to text your brother so he could come pick you up.
Fumbling with your phone, you scrolled through your contacts. After some difficulty, you finally tapped on his name and typed a message.
"Hey, Eiji. I’m at the bar, and I’m not feeling great. I think I drank too much… Can you come pick me up?"
His response came almost immediately.
"Coming."
You noticed his reply was unusually short. He was usually much more affectionate over text, but maybe he was just annoyed that he had to come pick up his little sister at 2 a.m.
Even so, you sighed in relief. You really didn’t want to be there anymore.
A few minutes later, you spotted a familiar blond-haired boy at the bar’s entrance. His eyes scanned the room, searching, until they locked onto yours. You tried to smile, but with the alcohol clouding your system and your mind in a haze, you figured you probably weren’t doing a great job of it.
He walked over quickly, his expression calm—no sign of judgment.
“Hey, let’s get out of here,” Katsuki said, placing his hands gently on your shoulders.
He started leading you outside, but as soon as you stepped out of the bar, you pulled away, stopping in your tracks and looking at him, annoyed.
“Where do you think you’re taking me? You can’t just drag me anywhere just because you’re Eijiro’s best friend.”
He sighed, turning back to face you.
“You texted me to come pick you up, dumbass.”
You stared at him, confused.
“What? No, I didn’t. I texted my brother.”
Too impatient to deal with you in your drunken state, he pulled out his phone from his pocket and held it up, showing you the message history. And there it was—the same message you thought you had sent to your older brother had actually been sent to his best friend. Your cheeks flushed as you realized your mistake.
“Can we go now?” he asked, his tone leaving no room for argument.
You simply nodded.
He turned his back to you and walked toward his car. Now that you were calmer, you took a proper look at him. He was dressed in comfortable clothes, his shirt slightly crooked—almost as if he had rushed out of the house without even bothering to fix it.
Was he really that worried about you?
The thought lingered in your hazy mind as you followed him to the car. Katsuki wasn’t the type to drop everything for just anyone. He was blunt, impatient, and rarely went out of his way unless it was for someone he truly cared about.
Had he really rushed out just because of your message?
Your gaze drifted back to his slightly disheveled appearance—the messy hair, the crooked shirt, the way his jaw was set, like he was annoyed but still here. Still making sure you were okay.
Maybe, just maybe, he cared more than he let on.
Snapping you out of your thoughts, Bakugou opened the passenger door and waited for you to get in. Obediently, you did as he wanted and sat down. You watched as he walked around the car and got in himself.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
“Yes, I’m fine. Just a little dizzy.”
He nodded. “If you need to throw up or something, tell me. I don’t want you messing up my car.”
You smiled at his words. It was no surprise to anyone that his car was his most prized possession. But now that you were finally inside it, you understood why. The car was immaculate. Not a single speck of dust, the leather seats looked brand new, and the faint scent of something fresh—maybe citrus or mint—lingered in the air. It was the kind of car you’d expect from someone as meticulous as Bakugou.
You let your fingers glide over the armrest absentmindedly, still feeling the slight buzz from the alcohol in your system. “I get it now,” you murmured.
Bakugou glanced at you briefly before focusing back on the road. “Get what?”
“Why you’re so obsessed with this car. It’s… nice,” you admitted.
He scoffed, but you could see the corner of his lips twitching upward, as if he were suppressing a smirk. “Damn right it is.”
A comfortable silence settled between you as he drove, the soft hum of the engine filling the space. The city lights blurred past the window, and despite the night not going as planned, a strange warmth spread through your chest.
Maybe it was the alcohol, or maybe it was the fact that, even though you had texted the wrong person, Bakugou still came for you.
Not long after, he finally reached your place. Parking the car, he stepped out and walked over to help you.
“Here we go,” he muttered as he steadied you, guiding you up the stairs to the apartment you shared with your brother.
Fumbling with your keys, you unlocked the door and stumbled inside, leaving it open so Bakugou could follow.
“Isn’t Eijiro home?” he asked, glancing around.
You looked around as well, but there was no sign of your brother.
“Oh, that’s right. He’s spending the night at a classmate’s place to finish a project,” you said, suddenly remembering.
“I see,” he muttered.
“Katsuki, can you help me get to my room?” you asked, pointing in its direction.
He nodded and led you there, steadying you when you stumbled slightly. Once inside, you grabbed your pajamas and made your way to the bathroom.
Bakugou sat on the edge of your bed, waiting patiently for you to return. Normally, he would have just left. But for some reason, he was still here.
And strangely, that was comforting.
As the warm water ran over your face, you took a deep breath, trying to shake off the lingering dizziness in your head. Slowly, you changed into your pajamas, exhaustion settling deep into your body. The night had been overwhelming, but knowing that Bakugou was still there, waiting, made it feel a little less lonely.
When you stepped back into your room, he was still sitting on the edge of your bed, scrolling through his phone. At the sound of the door opening, he looked up, his sharp eyes scanning you quickly before nodding in approval.
“Feel better?” he asked.
You nodded. “Yeah, much better.”
He stood up, stretching slightly. “Alright, then. I should probably—”
“Stay,” you interrupted before you could stop yourself.
He froze, raising an eyebrow at you.
You fidgeted with the hem of your sleeve, suddenly feeling a little embarrassed. “I mean… just for a bit. You don’t have to, but—”
“Tch.” He rolled his eyes, but instead of leaving, he sat back down. “Fine. Just until you fall asleep.”
A small smile tugged at your lips as you climbed into bed, pulling the covers over you. Bakugou leaned back against the headboard, arms crossed, looking like he wasn’t planning to move anytime soon.
The room was quiet except for the occasional sounds of the city outside. The only light came from the moon, casting a soft glow over Bakugou’s face. He looked ethereal—almost unreal—and something shifted inside you.
Sensing your gaze on him, he turned to you. “You know, to sleep, you actually need to close your eyes, idiot,” he muttered.
You weren’t sure if it was the alcohol or something else, but you couldn’t take your eyes off him.
“Thank you for coming to help me,” you whispered, shifting a little closer to him, seeking warmth.
“Whatever. You’re my best friend’s little sister—I couldn’t just leave you there, dumbass.”
You smiled and, before you could think twice, moved even closer.
“What are you—” Before he could finish his sentence, you kissed him.
It was soft, hesitant. But before you could fully savor it, he pulled away. You looked at him, confused.
“Look… you’re drunk. I don’t want you doing something you’ll regret tomorrow,” he said, looking away—but you caught the redness creeping onto the tips of his ears.
You smiled, nodding in understanding before curling up under the blankets. Your eyelids grew heavy, the exhaustion and alcohol finally catching up to you.
Just as you drifted off, you felt the mattress shift slightly, a warmth settling beside you.
Maybe, just maybe, you hadn’t texted the wrong person after all.

GOOD SIDE - FC43
Tumblr media
summary : She hates him, he’s intrigued and doesn’t understand why anyone would distlike him. Franco tries to win Charles’ sister over with coffee and good racing.
listen up : no warnings!! my first franco fic <3
word count : 1067
⋆。‧˚⋆
All eyes have been on Franco Colapinto for the past three weeks. All eyes including mine.
I watch the boy walk across the pit lane, grinning widely at his team. My arms are crossed in the ferrari garage, Charles is talking my ear off but I'm not even listening.
I miss my paddock best friend. All the boys on the grid are like my brothers, but Logan was genuinely my friend. I didn’t even go to Monza and fucked myself while boycotting because I missed my brother win.
I watch the team embrace the boy. I never realized how young he looks until now. He’s a year older than me, found that out when I was stalking his social media.
Charles noticed my stink eye and nudges me, “He’s a good kid. Don’t be mean!” I know Logan wasn’t performing well. I’m not blind.
But I can’t help but be salty for him.
“I won’t be mean.” I turn to see Alex and Franco walking towards us, I try to walk away but the hoodie for my sweatshirt is grabbed by Charles and I'm yanked backwards.
“Franco, This is my baby sister, Y/n!” Charles swings his arm around me, I roll my eyes and look back at Franco.
He’s cute and as he smiles at me I have a weird feeling that I need to make it stop. I turn to my new favorite william’s boy.
“Alex!” I smile wide and I can see my brother eyeing me already, “Nice Quali! Proud of you.”
He nods, “Appreciate it Y/n.” He glances at Franco, forcing me to say something. I give them what they want and look at him.
“Colapinto, is it?” I blink. “You’ve got an interesting driving style.”
Franco’s smile doesn’t falter. “Interesting enough to earn me P9.” My eyes narrow at him, “Nice to know you were watching me.”
I cross my arms but before I can say more, Charles interrupts me.
He laughs loudly, trying to drown out my voice, “Alright! Don't mind her, Franco, she’s been a little salty recently- well actually she’s always like this.” He shakes his head and leads the men in blue away.
Franco looks back at me as Alex starts talking rapidly, and I swear I’m hallucinating because I think he winks.
⋆。‧˚⋆
I’m sitting on the pit wall, Susie is talking me through all the little buttons and graphs. Even though I'm Ferrari till I die, Susie is like family and has always been there for me. I feel an unexpected tap on my shoulder which makes me whip around.
I look down to see Franco holding two cups of coffee. “Morning Mrs. Wolff!” He smiles at Susie, then me. I didn’t even know he met her. My eyebrow is already raised, “Mind if I borrow Y/n?”
Susie laughs softly, looking at him then me, “Go ahead.” I get off the chair slowly and he motions for me to take the cup.
“Charles mentioned you liked coffee.” I hesitate for a second, taking the cup. I sip it and mentally groan because I’ve been needing to get some today.
“Buying my affection already, Huh?” I glance at him as we walk down the pit lane. I'm wearing a short, flowy, white dress and a Ferrari cap, happy since it's so hot.
“Don’t be silly, This was free.” I sip my coffee to stop myself from laughing, “I do have to get on your good side somehow.”
I look away from him, “You took my best friend's seat.”
“He lost it.” When I look back at him, he’s already looking at me.
I sigh and keep walking, he catches up quickly, “So… You’re Charles’ Sister.”
I flip my hair over my shoulder, “You’re sherlock?”
“You’re pretty.”
I let out a dry laugh, “You’re straightforward. I’ve seen three interviews of you flirting and you haven’t even made it to your second race yet.” He laughs and it makes me feel good that I made him do that.
“What can I say? The people love me.” He shrugs and it's my turn to laugh now.
“I’m sure your media crew hates you.”
“I can confirm they definitely do.” He stops when he gets to his garage, “I don’t want you too though.”
I take a breath, “Let’s see how you do in the race and we’ll see.” I hear someone yell his name from inside the garage.
He doesn’t move, “You base all your relationships off of driving results?”
“Relationships?” I scoff as he licks his lips, “Don’t get too cocky now.”
Franco shakes his head, a curl falling into his face, “Not cocky. Just a glass half full type of guy.”
⋆。‧˚⋆
I hug Oscar as he walks out of his garage at the end of the day, “You fucking rocked it.” He laughs as I pull back, “Seriously, I'm proud and you beat my brother!”
Charles practically spawns, “We all know your loyalty is not to me.” All the boys have changed and are starting to leave. Carlos disappeared after crashing on the second to last lap but all I can do is smile for Lando who got bumped up to fourth.
Speaking of, Lando joins us with Franco by his side, his mouth running per usual. Everyone starts talking and congratulating Oscar again.
I find Franco by my side, he leans in slightly, “My result good enough for you?”
I look up at the sky, “Pretty good. I hate to say it but… you did well.”
He grins, “Well enough to get your number?”
I look to my brother to make sure he isn’t listening, “You’re playing with fire here, Colapinto.”
“Burn me.” He says it so quick that I almost don’t register the look on his face. He looks at me so genuinely with those hazel eyes and speaks again, “Por Favor? s'il te plaît? Please?”
The ‘Please’s’ makes me laugh. One in Spanish, one in French, and one in English to cover all his bases, “You’re such a flirt.”
“For you.”
“Don’t lie. You flirt with everyone.” I give him a look, he pulls a slow smile.
“If you were mine I'd never look at anyone else again.” Oddly enough, I believe him.
“If I were yours?” I step closer and he nods, “Hm… If I were yours- I think we would see pigs flying.”
He just grins, “I can arrange that.”

Pairing: Cowboy Negan Smith x f!reader
Warning: Age gap, reader is in 20s Negan is mid 40s, p in v, praise, virginity lose
Inspired by @lanadelnegan stories🤎
•Masterlist•
Tumblr media
The apocalypse hit and everything happened so fast, I was with my family at our farm for some time watching the news, listening to the horror stories on the radio, we thought that we could go unscathed since we hadn’t been affected and that all the food and water we needed was on our land but all that changed one night when a hoard of walkers ran down our farm, my parents were first trying to fight of the walkers, quickly being ripped apart their screams still lingered in my head whenever I thought about them, then it was my two sisters trying to flee but got surrounded taking them down as well, I was lucky enough to get to my truck finding an opening in the walkers and driving away from my home, leaving me all alone on the road
Now it’s been 2 years going from place to place just trying to survive, to find a reason to keep living in this cruel world, I’ve been able to dodge as many walkers as I can, that wasn’t the main problem anymore, the food shortage was what dwindled my hope
My truck had broke down a while back so now I’ve just been wandering on foot, walking through the trees trying to get some shade from Georgia summer heat when I hear a groan and thud, I follow the direction of the whines on a left of what have might caused it, walkers, people, god knows what now a days
Rounding a tree I see a horse laying down on the ground, I approached slowly not wanting to spook it having experience with horses back on the farm, kneeling in front of it petting its soft black mane
“Hey girl, what are you doing out here all alone?” She didn’t look injured she was laying down fine, maybe she just got hot it was one of the hottest days I’ve ever lived in even in Georgia
I took out one of the bottles of water I found poring some of it over her face to help cool her down then poring the rest in a bowl I had in my bag and she was quick to drink it
After some time I stood up taking her lead rope trying to get her to stand up, I couldn’t leave her here all alone for some walkers to eat her alive maybe she came from somewhere near by
Walking through the trees she would occasionally change our course more like she was leading me than I was her until we got to a break in the trees, a ranch in perfect condition, a few horses grazing the field, little sheep’s hoping around, a chicken coop and a cozy little cabin like house right in the middle of the land, a brown bronco truck parked out front
Opening the gate, closing it behind me and the horse so the other animals wouldn’t get out like she did somehow, when a deep voice stopped me in my tracks
“See ya brought Missy back, been wondering where she went off to” coming down the porch steps was a older man, cowboy hat, white shirt, blue jeans and boots, maybe it was the lack of human contact or even interactions but damn was he fine, I didn’t realize he was right infront of me till he cleared his throat breaking me out of my oogling
“Oh yeah, I found her out in the woods she must had heat exhaustion so I gave her some water” my stomach feels like it’s in knots, I haven’t felt like this in so long, he’s said a few words and I’m entranced by him
“A nice and pretty girl might just have to keep ya around darling” he smirked making my knees weak, but I still have my values I’m not just going to jump his bones even though the urge is so strong
“Oh I mean if you’re able to take me in I’ll earn my keep, help around the farm, anything I just…..I can’t stay out there alone any longer” I said praying he’d give me a chance, some hope
“Ya sure you know what you’re doing around a farm?” He asked as he looked me up and down, lingering on my chest
“I grew up on a farm, I know what I’m doing”
“Hmmm well come on in, see where you can stay” I let Missy go so she could run off with the others, following him inside, it was bigger on the inside than it looked on the outside, cute kitchen, wooden accents around the house, he kept walking down a hallways till he stopped at a room waiting for me to go in first, it was cozy, I don’t care if this place was trashy as long as I can be stress free and have someone to keep me company
“You like it?” He asked from the doorway
“I love it, thank you” I said as I sit on the bed letting out a long awaited sigh
“How long were you out there?”
“I don’t know time is hard to keep track of out there, maybe 2 years”
“Damn girl, 2 years did you atleast have someone out there?”
“My farm fell early taking my family with it when the walkers came, so it’s just been me until now”
He gave me a pitiful look it made the blood rush to my cheeks
“Come on darlin, supper should be done, should get some food in you” he said waving me out of the room and Im quick to follow him to the kitchen where I sit at the table as he dishes up some food, fresh food something I haven’t had in well forever it feels like
He sits across from me at the table taking his hat of showing his dark brown hair streaked with some grey, biting my lip to stop myself from fantasizing about running my hands through his hair, pulling on it as I feel his beard scratch against my legs
“So what’s your name darlin, like to call you something other than sweet names” he smirks obviously realizing my constant leering but he didn’t make it easy
“I’m fine with your little names but it’s y/n”
“You got a spark still considering how long you’ve been out there, how old are you even?”
“20 you?”
“Let’s just say I’m old enough to be your father”
“Not a problem for me” I said under my breath
Tumblr media
A few weeks went by and I did what I said, working hard around the farm, waking up early to collect eggs from the chicken coop, feeding the horses and sheep, picking any ripe berries from the garden all before he was even up, no different from today, I laid berries on our plates and scrambled some eggs finishing right when he comes out of his room, scruffy hair, boxers and a black tank top showing off his tattoos, yes I earned my keep but the tension between us was growing stronger and stronger everyday, every touch, every long night of staying up talking I have to do something about it
“Morning Negan sleep well?” I asked as he sat across from me, our usual spots since that first day
“Great darlin, would’ve been better if you were next to me all night” he smirked, he’d do this tease me and act like it was nothing but it was something to me especially when I’d stay up late at night touching myself thinking of the things he’d say
“Negan you’re driving me crazy you know that” I said chomping on a strawberry
“You think I don’t hear you?”
“What?” My face flushed, please god don’t let it be what I think it is
“At night, when you think I’m fast asleep, I hear you moaning my name, whimpering when you can’t make yourself finish” he said his voice getting deeper as he leaned further across the table
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, I gotta go……..go clean up the hay” I said flustered and completely embarrassed standing up and leaving the house to the barn
OH MY GOD this is so embarrassing, he’s heard me touch my self to him what is wrong with me, it’s only been a week and I can’t control myself, maybe because he’s everything I want, strong sexy makes my knees weak and panties wet, plus I have so much pent up sexual frustration, growing up on a farm and not being allowed to date led to me now, a horny 20 year old fantasizing about a man who generously gave me shelter and food, I’m a mess, a horny mess that wants to ride this man all day long
I get to the barn pitchforking any loose straw back into the pile trying to figure out what I’m suppose to do now, how do I face him again after he’s heard me moan his name
“I can hear your crazy thoughts from here darling” I look to the barn door seeing him dressed in blue jeans, cowboy boots, his cowboy hat and a brown plaid
“I can’t take it anymore Negan, obviously you know that now, please just……..”
“Just what baby?” He asks his voice deeper again as he gets closer gripping my waist, his hands alone engulfing me
“Just touch me”
He leans down grabbing the back of my thighs lifting me to straddle his hips, my arms wrapped around his shoulders now face to face
“You sure you can handle this sweetheart?”
“I need it, I need you to fuck me please I’ve been so good” I say as he litters my neck with sloppy kisses
“You have, such a good girl for me, guess you deserve a big reward for that” he smirks as he squeezes my ass, laying my down in the hay pile
“Fuck you got me so hard, you know how hard it was to not bust into your room hearing your sweet moans just begging for me to plow this pussy?” He grips the bottom of my sundress hauling it off over my head leaving me in just my panties, my tits completely exposed
Hearing him groan as his hands roam my body, from my hips up my stomach to caress my tits rubbing his thumbs over them making my panties even more soaked
“That feels so good, doesn’t feel like this *fuck* when I try” I whimper my body feeling like it’s on fire
“No one ever make you feel good darling?” He says as he leaves kitten licks against my nipples feeling like lighting shooting from them to my clit, trying to grind against his thigh between my legs
“No, no one’s ever…..”
“No ones ever touched you, you’re a virgin?” He continues to suck hickeys down my stomach stopping at the hem of my panties
“Only you” I moan needing more
“Don’t worry I’ll make you feel good baby” he removed everything he’d wearing going to throw his hat in the pile of clothes but is top him
“Stop!……keep it on”
“You like cowboys? Wanna take a ride?” He smirks as he pulls down my panties leaving us both naked
“I mean I did save your horse, it’s only right to ride the cowboy” I say as I flip him over to straddle his hips, his dick standing big thick and prominent, he’s really gonna stretch me out good
“Oh ya it’s only right” he laughs squeezing my hips hard as he helps me move them back and forth grinding on his dick getting it wet
“I need it please”
“Take your time darling” he says as he lifts me up so I’m hovering right above him feeling his tip gently pushing against me
I slowly push down feeling the pressure and stretch, it hurt god it was way bigger than my two fingers
“Fuck baby you’re so tight” he grunts
“Is it…….is it all in, you’re so big I don’t know if I can take much more” I moan uncontrollably, all this sexual frustration finally breaking free
“Just a little more, come on be a good girl and take it” he helps push me down the rest of the way till I feel his skin flush against my clit
I sigh I relief that I got it all in but the sting isn’t pleasant
“Take your time cowgirl, wanna get you nice and stretched before you try and ride your cowboy” he laughs as he sits up kissing my neck again and rubbing my clit to help distract the pain
“God I can’t wait” I say gripping his shoulders as I start moving up and down, slowly at first feeling him deeper and deeper each time
“Fuck baby this pussy is gonna be the death of me” I take his hat putting it on holding it with one hand just like I would when riding a mechanical bull, bouncing and gyrating fast and harder and deeper feeling him hit that spot where it makes me see stars and screaming his name over and over as I feel that tension build up in my lower stomach
“Come on cowgirl, cum on my dick, make yourself cum, let it out” he says meeting my thrusts over and over driving even deeper
My hearing goes fuzzy feeling like my whole body is lit up with pleasure, it’s never felt this good before doing it by myself, soon feeling a warm liquid shoot up inside me, dripping down in between us making a sticky hot mess
Coming back down to earth from that mind blowing orgasm I feel his hands roaming up and down my back, his chest pressed against mine
“Did I do it right” I moan biting my lip slowly grinding on him
“Damn darling, that was the best fuck of my life, yeah you did it right, look great doing it to, could get us to this” he says laying back in the hay hands behind his head
I sat up feeling him slide out whining when he popped out his cum dripping onto the hay as I lean down against his chest
“I want more”
“Damn baby girl, they were right good girls really are the most frustrated”
We spent the rest of the day in the barn, him taking me in every position imaginable, everyone better than the last until we were exhausted and my pussy ached so good
“Glad you found my horse that day”
“Me too Negan”

Warning:Smoke, age gap[Jaehyun-27/reader-19]
wc:0,9k
part1/ part 2
You watched Jaehyun through the crowd, god his smile was so pretty. You knew you had different feelings for him but you always tried to push it back, you were like a sister to all of them, they saw you as such, you saw them as your older brothers. Except for Jaehyun. Your heart beating every time he got close to you, the way he shamelessly kissed you on the cheek, 'Look at our little Y/n, are you too shy today?' No, you were only for him, yet you knew your feelings were one-sided. Every time you looked at him with love, you tried to remind yourself of that, but it didn't work, every time he turned his eyes to you, you seemed to forget everything.
You saw him stand up and walk towards the balcony, your feet couldn't stop the urge to follow him, you fidgeted and looked at the others. Everyone seemed to be doing their own thing, so you got up and left without them noticing, you glanced towards the balcony, he was leaning on the railings with a cigarette in his mouth, you swallowed. You didn't know what to do if he noticed you, but that didn't stop you from watching him, his side profile was visible, you looked at his lips with a cigarette in his mouth, you watched as he ran his fingers through his mouth to hold the cigarette. He blew out the smoke and wet his lips. "Are you going to stand there?"
You couldn't figure out what was going on at first, you realized he was talking to you when he turned to you, you were just standing in the doorway, he grinned, turned back to the front and continued smoking his cigarette, you took a step towards the balcony. "I didn't mean to bother." You spoke as you walked towards him, cursed when your voice came out low, you were having a hard time even talking to him. He tilted his head to look at you, your eyes fell on the cigarette he held between his fingers, then on the lips he smiled at. "You never bother me."
You let out a cough as Jaehyun brought the cigarette back to his lips, he quickly took the cigarette in his other hand and muttered a curse "Fuck, I'm sorry." You nodded your head meaning no problem.
He looked at you for a while, you saw him checking you out from head to toe, you looked at him the same way as the wind caressed his hair. The awkward silence between you two continued until Jaehyun broke it. "Don't you hate cigarettes?" You kept quiet, yes you hated it, you couldn't stand the smell or even the name, you never understood how people could smoke this stuff by the pack a day. "I do." He put out his finished cigarette, you watched as he took out a new one, he spoke before lighting his cigarette. "Then why are you here?" You shrugged, the answer was obvious to you, Jaehyun might be confused but that was okay, you knew the answer and that was enough.
You saw him smirk with the cigarette in his mouth and you looked away, standing next to him definitely didn’t feel good to you. But you couldn't get away from him, somehow your feet were still dragging after him, like a lost child. "You are so quiet, is it just me because I can tell you are different while you're with others." You pressed your lips together. You definitely weren't expecting this question, didn't even know what to say. "I'm not different." He turned to you completely and leaned in slightly, the smell of his cigarettes and perfume filled your nose, it was a smell that didn't even bother you, "I'm not stupid, Y/n." The way he laughed made you tense up. It wasn't a mocking tone, but it was like you knew he knew something and it made you nervous.
"I-I don't understand?" He hummed, bit his lower lip thoughtfully, you felt your body tense up, your heart sped up, you wet your dry lips. "You may be young but that doesn't mean you can play dumb and fool me darling." The nickname sent shivers through your body, this close, in a whisper, it would make your legs go limp. When he realized that he wasn't getting an answer from you, he pushed his limits. "Are you going to stay silent? As usual?" He leaned towards your ear, first he let out a deep breath, when his breath hit your ear and neck you held your breath for a moment, you wanted to move back but the hand holding your arm held you in place. He threw his cigarette away and after it had extinguished under his foot, he spoke. "How cute, shamelessly looking at my face, calling me oppa, but secretly having feelings for me huh?"
“N-no..” your voice came out weak, you regretted coming here, your body was burning like fire, and Jaehyun wasn’t helping at all. "No?" he repeated, pulled back, grabbed your chin, made you look up at him, and started caressing your lower lip with his thumb. "Have you always been such a liar? Didn't your elders teach you anything about this? Maybe I should." You swallowed nervously as he approached your lips, “Jaehyun? Y/n? Where are you, we’re going to watch a movie.” Doyoung’s voice interrupted, Jaehyun stepped back and just walked away from you, you trying to understand what had just happened. "Come on Y/n, we don't want to keep the others waiting, do we?"
Today was definitely going to be the hardest day you've ever had.

title: the diner
word count: 4400
౨ৎ “You know, I’m glad i decided to come here tonight. I wouldn’t have met my future wife if I didnt.”
You rolled her eyes. “Have you always been a flirt?”
He flashed you the biggest grin and nods his head. “Since day one, pretty girl. Hope you don’t mind it.”
It was absolutely dead at the diner. The last patron you had was 30 minutes ago and the time was going by very slowly. The sound of the ticking clock was driving you into insane boredom. The only other noise was the same overplayed songs you’d hear in a retail store playing in the background. It was a random Thursday night and usually the diner isn’t packed until the weekend when all of the people who are drunk or high need a place to go to sober up. Tonight was not one of those nights. You didn’t like when it was insanely busy, but at least it made the time go by quickly when it was.
You stood there behind the counter, scrolling aimlessly through your phone when you heard the door open with the familiar dinging sound followed by laughter and a couple voices talking among themselves, making themselves known of their presence. When you looked up to see who walked in, you were instantly intrigued at who they were.
Three boys who all had the variations of the same face stood there, waiting to be seated. They were all handsome and you could tell they were around your age, but you’ve never seen them before. The one who stood out to you was wearing a hoodie that said “Fresh Love” on the front and wore gray sweatpants. His eyes met yours for a brief moment with a spark of interest in his eyes before turning back to reply to something one of the others said. You didn’t want it to be insanely obvious you were already checking one of them out.
You slipped your phone into your apron pocket and put on your most friendly smile as you walked over to them. “Hi, welcome to the Diner! I’m Y/N and I’ll be your server. Three tonight?” You grabbed three menus as you awaited their reply.
They all looked at you at the same time and immediately stopped talking when they realized they were being helped. The taller one nodded his head, flashing you a friendly smile back. “Yes please, and we prefer a booth if that’s okay.”
The same one you noticed at first stared at you for a long hard moment, his eyes scanning you up and down to take in your appearance, his ocean blue eyes sparkling as his lips curved up into a wide grin before allowing you to lead them over to the most comfortable spot in the corner of the diner with a big booth and vintage photographs above the wall to fit the diner aesthetic.
You grew up going to this diner, and even though this was just a part time gig, you loved it and it was helping you save money for your own apartment. You loved your parents, but you were getting older and wanted a space of your own. The tips were insanely helpful with your “moving out fund” considering you don’t get paid as much as you were hoping for, but it was good practice with customer service skills and keeping you busy while you attended the university nearby full time.
They slid into the booth one by one as you placed the menus down in front of them. The one who you happened to check out stared up at you with his pretty ocean blue eyes, the same smile staying present on his lips. Was he checking you out, or was this all in your head? You usually had creepy old men try and hit on you, considering that was the majority of the type of people who come into the diner, unfortunately. It’s not everyday that a cute boy like him steps foot into the diner and actually seems to acknowledge you as a human being, not a machine who constantly fills your cup.
“What would you boys like to drink? Or do you want to put in any appetizers to start?” You spoke in your most friendly, customer service voice. You pulled out your pad and pen that was stuffed in your apron pocket. The other two boys were looking through the menu at the appetizers, but the boy with the pretty ocean eyes looked up at you, his smile only widening. You felt your cheeks grow hot and turn a light shade of pink at his constant stare.
You tried to ignore the fact that your cheeks were on fire, but it was impossible not to when he stared at you long and hard, his smile soon turning into a slight smirk like he knew that he already had an effect on you and you barely just met each other. How even his smile could make you insanely flustered.
They gave you their drink and appetizer orders, but also told you their names to get aquatinted. Nick, who was the oldest and the one who asked for the booth. Matt, who was super quiet, but seemed really friendly. Then there was Chris, the boy with the pretty ocean blue eyes and dazzling smile who couldn’t seem to keep his eyes off you.
You slipped your pad back into your pocket, flashing Chris a widening smile before turning on your heel and walking back to the kitchen to put their appetizer orders in.
You grabbed three glasses and filled them up with their desired drink option before walking back over to their table and setting their drinks down in front of them. “Thank fuck.” Nick replied in pure desperation as he took a long sip of his drink.
Your eyebrow raised slightly at his reaction because he seemed so desperate for his drink. Chris and Matt let out a laugh at their brother. Chris shook his head in disbelief, noticing your confusion with Nick's behavior.. “Don’t mind him. He’s been editing our video for hours and suddenly now the man acts like he’s completely parched and going to die without his precious coke.”
Nick rolled his eyes at his reply, immediately sassing him. “Says the one who drinks a dozen fucking sodas a day.”
All you could do was stand there and laugh at their banter and watch it in realtime. You grew up without having any siblings, so this wasn’t something that you ever got to experience before. “It’s funny, actually. Are you guys from around here?”
Chris immediately replied to your question. It almost felt like he didn’t want the others to reply and wanted to be the one to do it. “Yeah, we live about 10 minutes from here. We were looking for somewhere to eat because we all forgot to eat dinner.”
You frowned at his words as he mentioned they forgot to eat dinner, but you were glad they stepped foot into the diner. Really glad. “Why didn’t you guys eat?”
Matt shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, taking a sip of his drink. “Me and Chris were in a 4 hour stream playing Fortnite, and Nick, well he was editing and doing God knows what else.”
Nick and Matt began to bicker about what his comment meant and that left Chris and you alone for a moment. His eyes immediately fell to yours, his lips curving up into a wide grin. “So, how long have you been working here?”
You bit onto your bottom lip as you stared at him, a small smile staying present on your lips. “About a year and a half. I’m trying to save up for my own place, but shit is so expensive nowadays.”
“I know, tell me about it. It’s just me and my brothers in our house. We do Youtube for a living, and our own solo thing on the side, but shit is ridiculous. You seem like you’re doing great though. Got a good…head on your shoulders.” His words were genuine, truthful, down right sweet. Your cheeks felt extremely warm as your smile only widened. “Thank you..Chris.” His name fell off your tongue for the first time like you could imagine yourself saying it again and again, in many different situations, if you two were to continue talking about them leaving after they finish eating.
Thinking about them leaving after this made you sad and pulled on your heart strings a little. It was nice to have some company in the diner, and overall in your daily life. Life hasn’t been too interesting lately, and even though you feel as if you were doing okay at staying afloat, there was still something missing.
You stood there staring at him for a little bit too long, your smile widening and your cheeks growing even more warm by the second. It didn’t help that he also sat there, oblivious to anything and everything else and stayed focused solely on you.
Until Matt nudged his arm to get his attention, which caused him to break contact with you and whip his head over to his brother. “What the fuck, Matt?”
Matt rolled his eyes at him, a lighthearted chuckle leaving his lips. “Oh sweet, love sick smitten puppy.” He cooed playfully, moving his hand up to ruffle Chris’ hair. “How cute.”
You watched all of this play out, Chris’ cheeks reddening by the second as he shook his head in disbelief, trying to keep himself calm and collected, rather than allowing his brother to mess with him. It was cute to watch this play out, even though you could tell how flustered Chris was.
“I’m going to go check on your appetizers.” You spoke instantly, flashing them a small smile before turning on your heel and walking back to the kitchen. Your heart was thumping hard in your chest, adrenaline pumping through your veins from the excitement of it all. You could tell how adorably sweet Chris was, and a part of you wanted to keep getting to know him, but the other part of you was afraid he’d slip through your fingers once he walked out of the diner.
The appetizers were done and you quickly brought the plates over to their table, the smell of tater tots and mozzarella sticks wafting through your nostrils and making your stomach burn with hunger. You hadn’t eaten in a couple hours, but now that you were smelling their food, it was making you insanely hungry.
“Do you guys want to put in your food orders?” You ask them in a friendly voice, a small smile staying present on your face like you usually do to everyone to help with your “great customer service” attitude.
They gave you their food orders as you wrote everything down on the pad, smiling as you did so. You let them know it shouldn’t take long and you’ll be around if they need anything until then. Before you walked away to the kitchen, Chris flashed you a playful wink and it literally made your heart feel like it was gonna leap out of your chest.
It was just you and the cook tonight, but luckily that was enough and your shift ended in a couple hours anyway. They didn’t order a lot of food, so it wouldn’t take long to make. You found yourself staring at him through the kitchen as you watched him laugh at something Nick said, his laugh being the loudest and most distinctive of the three.
You tried to keep yourself busy on your phone as you waited for their food to be ready, but your eyes kept going back to Chris. You couldn’t believe you’ve never seen him before, especially in the diner. You were drawn to him the moment you saw him, like a gravity pull, wanting you two to find each other.
Finally, the cook lets you know their order is ready and you manage to carry everything out to their table with the help of the tray that was provided for you. They stopped talking once they realized you were approaching with their food, and you swore you saw Matt nudge Chris’ arm playfully, his cheeks slightly reddened at something his brothers were saying to him. How fucking cute was this boy?
You managed to place everything in front of the right person and folded the tray up, placing it under your arm. “Is there anything else I can get for you guys?”
“Sit with us.” Chris said immediately, like it was an invitation and he was inviting you to join them.
Your eyes widened in surprise at him being so forward, but honestly, it sounded very intriguing. You looked around the diner and there was nobody in sight. You hesitated, biting onto your bottom lip. Technically, you still got a 30 minute break before your shift ended, but you never sat with patrons before while you were on the clock. You weren’t sure if it would get you in trouble, but luckily, the cook was a very chill guy and always minded his business. Also, there was nobody else working or coming in to eat so you thought why the hell not.
“Okay, why not.” You flashed them all a smile, setting the tray aside to put away later and scooted into the booth next to Nick, directly across from Chris. They all flashed you a wide smile, making you feel instantly welcomed and warm inside. It wasn’t everyday that you had people be this nice to you, especially at work. The bonus was the cute one who couldn’t seem to stop staring at you, making your stomach erupt with butterflies.
You all ended up snacking on their appetizers and talking for two whole hours about absolutely everything; your childhood and theirs and what it’s like having siblings versus not having, hobbies and interests, and about their job as a creator and how time consuming, but rewarding it can be, and your favorite question of all was Nick randomly asking you if you’re single and what you look for in a guy.
Your cheeks were completely red at his question, a soft giggle leaving your lips. You felt all of their eyes on you, waiting for your answer. You look up into Chris’ eyes, his lips curving into a slight smirk, raising his eyebrow at you in curiosity as he awaits your answer.
Luckily there was still nobody in the diner, so you were able to continue relaxing and hanging out with them without feeling any guilt. You took in a deep breath, blowing a raspberry past your lips, before finally figuring out how to answer the question. “Well, someone who is cute, obviously is a bonus, but looks aren’t everything. Yes I’m single and I’d say what I look for in a guy is all about his heart and personality. I know that’s cheesy, but it’s true. Someone I can be myself with, laugh with, feel truly comfortable and have as a life partner and a best friend.” Your cheeks were even more red after you finished speaking. They all stared at you, but then you noticed Nick and Matt, who looked over at Chris and wiggled their eyebrows playfully at him, giving him subtle hints.
Chris looked back at them with annoyance written all over his face before looking back over at you, flashing you a cheesy smile. “I’m surprised someone as precious and beautiful as you doesn’t already have someone.” He spoke his words so smoothly, with so much confidence and it only made your cheeks even more warm.
“Nah, they aren’t worth my time anyway.”
“Could Chris be worth your time?” Matt asks you, raising his eyebrow up at you curiously.
You opened up your mouth to reply, but you watched Chris hit Matt over the back of the head due to his question. You giggled softly as you watched Matt pretend to be surprised at Chris’ sudden reaction, but from what you gathered by spending some time with them, this was just how they acted on a daily basis.
“The answer is yes.” You replied confidently, not holding back now. You knew that if you didn’t speak freely, even if it meant making yourself flustered, you’d regret it and not get the chance to see him ever again and you already didn’t want that.
Suddenly, you hear the sound of the bell jingling, indicating that somebody walked in. You looked up to see a group of people standing there, waiting to be seated. You felt your heart tugging in your chest as utter disappointment rolled through you with a soft, devastated sigh leaving your lips.
They noticed your demeanor had changed and instantly looked over to see the people waiting to be served. Chris’ face softened, a slight frown appearing on his face. “Looks like you gotta get back to work, huh?” Disappointment filled his tone and his facial expressions as he studied you intently, waiting for your response.
You let out another soft sigh, nodding your head, before trying to have a positive mindset about it, considering at least you got to talk to them as long as you did without having any interruptions. This was your job and you were still on the clock for another 2 hours, after all. “Yeah, sadly. But if you guys hang around for a bit longer, I’ll grab your checks if you guys wanna head out soon.”
“We’re definitely not in a hurry to go anywhere.” Chris said immediately, a soft chuckle escaping his lips as he brought his hand up to his tousled locks and messing his hair up a bit to get it to sit properly on his head. You stared at him for a moment, taking in his adorable appearance. Just from talking to Chris and his brothers tonight, you felt like you gained three new best friends, but happened to be crushing on the one you couldn’t take your eyes off.
He couldn’t seem to take his eyes off you, either.
The other boys nodded in agreement to Chris’ words, laughter following suite as they passed along more innuendos towards him. It only made Chris more red in the face, which you were no stranger to. He was absolutely adorable and you already couldn’t get enough of him.
“See you soon, guys.” You pulled away from their booth, waving to them with a small smile on your face, although inside your heart was aching. If only you were off the clock already, and didn’t have any obligations so you can sit around and chat with them more. You passed one more glance at Chris, who’s eyes were still focused on you. When your eyes met, his lips curved into a wider smile, winking at you once again which made your heart beat rapidly in your chest, and the butterflies continued roaming in your tummy.
With one more sigh emitting from your lips, you returned back to work, putting on the best customer service persona that you knew all too well. The group of people didn’t seem phased that you took a minute to approach them, obviously lost in their own world.
You sat them in the same section as the boys, but with distance and took care of their orders before bringing it over to the kitchen so the cook could start working on it.
Even though he was still in the diner, you couldn’t stop thinking about Chris and how he looked at you, smiled at you, genuinely seemed interested in you and wanted to keep talking to you. The feeling was mutual and it was definitely a night you’d never forget.
You walked back over to the boys, exhaling out a deep breath before letting out a soft laugh. “Gotta love working as a server, always needed or wanted at any given time.”
“I think you do a hell of a job, sweetheart.” Chris replied confidently, the nickname rolling off his tongue, so sweet and gentle it almost made your heart want to leap out of your chest.
“Thanks, Chris.” You replied back sweetly, your cheeks now stained a permanent red and completely warm, a soft giggle emitting from your lips. “Um if you guys are wanting to head out, I can ring you up at the register?”
Nick lets out a soft sigh, nodding his head as he looks over at his brothers before moving his gaze to look up at you. “Yeah, I still have to finish editing the damn video. Chris here pay the bill.” He wiggled his eyebrows at Chris before slapping his credit card down in front of him. “You know what to do.”
You were confused by this, but decided not to dwell on it considering they were triplets and can probably do things without speaking and reading each other's mind. They began to scoot out of the booth to leave but Nick immediately wrapped his arms around you in a hug which you gladly accepted and hugged him back. He pulled away, grabbing your hand and placing three $100 bills in your palm. “The tip. I’m sure you can have Chris’ another time.”
Not only did it surprise you with the large amount of a tip, but also the fact that his words made your cheeks even more red, if that were even possible. You opened up your mouth to say something, anything, but nothing came out. He thought this was hilarious, flashing you a wide grin before waving off to you and walking out towards the door. “See ya soon, pretty!”
Matt was more chill, offering you a hug as well and letting you know that you have amazing customer service and he hopes everyone can hang out again. The feeling was mutual.
Finally, it was just you and Chris alone. He stared at you for a moment, his pretty blue eyes sparkling as he grinned at you. “Let me pay first.”
You let a nervous laugh, nodding your head and motioning for him to follow you up to the front. You rang him up, printing out a receipt and giving him a pen and the copy to sign. He scribbled on it and handed it back to you with the credit card. When you looked down at the receipt, you noticed that it had more than just his signature filled out. He wrote down his phone number.
You looked back up at him, your smile only widening and your eyes gleamed in delight. “I was worried I wouldn’t hear from you, or see you again.”
Chris shook his head immediately, his hands in his pockets. “That’s not possible. I already am quite fond of you.”
A soft giggle emitted from your lips as you bit down onto your bottom lip, a nervous habit, before back up at him. “I feel the same way. I’m pretty sad that you guys have to leave.”
He nodded his head, a soft sigh emitting from his lips. “I am too. You know, I could talk to you for hours, mainly to listen to you talk. You have such a pretty voice, and face, so I don’t mind that either.” He flashed you a playful wink, causing another giggle to leave your lips.
“You are such a charmer, Chris.”
His eyes watched you intently as you charged the card and began printing out a copy of the receipt for him before handing the card back to him. The moment you place the fresh card in his hand, both of your hands brush against each other, causing a spark of electricity to shoot through your veins and butterflies to roam in your stomach again.
He must’ve felt it too, because his smile only widened at the feeling of his hand against yours. He slipped the credit card in his wallet and stuffed it back into his pocket. “You know, I'm glad I decided to come here tonight. I wouldn't have met my future wife if I didn't.”
You rolled your eyes. “Have you always been a flirt?”
He flashed you the biggest grin and nodded his head. “Since day one, pretty girl. Hope you don’t mind it.”
You shake your head, your smile only widening as you keep your eyes focused solely on him. “No, I don’t mind that at all.”
Without hesitation, he pulls you into his arms to hug you tightly, his hands moving to place onto your lower back. You immediately accept the hug, wrapping your arms around his neck to pull him close to your body, your eyes fluttering closed, almost wanting to melt into his embrace. The smell of his strong, intoxicating cologne wafted through your nostrils, a soft, satisfied hum emitting from your lips. After a couple more seconds, he pulled away from your embrace, which pulled on your heart strings, but you had actual hope now that this wasn’t the last time you’d be seeing him. You could feel it in your gut that he would be here with you through the long haul.
“Text me, pretty. I’ll be waiting.” He flashed you another wink and before you knew it, he walked out the door and out to the car with his brothers.
You already missed him. The way his eyes sparkled when he stared at you, his infectious laugh and charming smile. The way he’d tell a joke and have you laughing until you were crying. The feeling of his body pressed up against yours, the spark of electricity you felt when your hands touched.
Yeah, it was safe to say that you were smitten.
Tumblr media
Two weeks later, you’re sitting in your bedroom cross legged on your bed with your laptop in front of you and those three unforgettable boys displayed on your screen. Their Youtube channel was a hit and you’ve been watching them every single day since the day you met them two weeks ago in the diner.
Today’s video? A car video and they were discussing flirting. You almost spit out your drink when they get onto the topic of you, and going into some detail about the night in the diner.
“So, the world probably wants to know, did she end up texting you?” Matt asked him, sitting in the driver's seat.
Chris immediately nods his head, that same damn charming smile displayed on his face as he stared into the camera, almost as if he was talking directly to you, like he knew you’d be watching.
“Of course. We’re going out this weekend, on an actual date.”
You were really fucking glad fate was on your side that night in the diner.
Maybe this was the start of something beautiful.

warnings: fem!reader, children lmao, not much really, being referred to as 'mother', no smut, no romance, we're world building guys. setting up the plot. i've always envisioned the tsaritsa to play matchmaker with her friends(?) so thats what this is based off of lmao part 1 part 2
Tumblr media
Arlecchino didn’t want a “motherly figure,” and the children didn’t need a “motherly figure” to raise them as soldiers, either. And yet, here we are. Arlecchino sits in the main room of the House of The Hearth, waiting to greet the new “mother” and can’t help but be reminded of the last one the house had. Even the older children seem apprehensive about welcoming someone under that name back to their ranks.
“I’m only assigning you a helper, someone more motherly to perhaps guide the children into being more obedient,” the Tsaritsa smiled. “You yourself have said that this latest batch of kids have been especially hard to keep in line.”
“No offence, my lady, but I hope you are not questioning my abilities…” Arlecchino replied, setting her tea cup down after taking a sip. “I assure you, I am capable of handling my kids.”
The Tsaritsa smiles again, too sweetly. “Yes, dear… just humor me. If she hinders more than she helps, by all means, send her back.” And that was the end of all conversation about the new mother.
Arlecchino shook from her day dream when a knock sounded through the sleeping hearth. The kids had all been put to bed and only the servants remained awake, tending to the chores left until it was lights out. Arlecchino stood and brushed off her suit, walking to meet the woman at the door. A servant had already welcomed her inside, taking her coat and laying it over her arm. To Arlecchino’s surprise, this was… not what she was expecting. It was you. A girl from her past that she had not only thought she’d never see again but someone she hadn’t thought about in many years. When you lift your eyes and meet Arlecchino’s dark ones, she suddenly feels weak. This is just another bomb for the already radioactive battlefield of her mind. The Tsaritsa is playing games, she realizes.
“Peruere!” You say way too loudly as you run to her, throwing your arms around her neck as you hug your long lost friend. “It’s been so long! I can’t believe we’re working together, can you? I like your hair, it’s short now- oh wait! No it’s not!” You go on like this until she silences you with a hand raised.
“The children are sleeping,” she says softly, though her voice is cold. “I did not expect you to see you.”
Perhaps you are a new maid, there have been some that retired recently, maybe that’s why you’re here and she won’t have to deal with this much enthusiasm everyday.
“I know right? But I had been offered a job that pays way more than the old babysitting gig I had, so I thought- hey why not?” You beam at her and then take a step back to examine what she’s wearing, making Arlecchino smirk a little as she holds her head high.
“Ground rules. Follow me to your room and I’ll explain.”
”You can call me “Father,” or Arlecchino, but do not call me Peruere.” You nod, wishing you had something to write these down as she speaks them.
“No leaving the grounds without somebody knowing where you’re going. This is for your safety and ours, as the Fatui has a reputation.” You nod, thinking about how fun it will be working with an old friend.
“You cannot invite people over. Do you have any close family members or friends who may want to visit? Make sure you let them know that they cannot simply drop by for tea.” You nod once again, thinking about tea.
“If you get sick, this is the in house hospital,” Arlecchino gestures to a door with a window. You stop to peer inside and you can see two boys sleeping soundly in separate cots. They look comfortable… for being in a hospital. “Broken leg and a fever,” says the Father beside you as she gazes in at the two for a moment before continuing her tour, gesturing you along. She has only taken you down the east wing and you’ve passed mostly just sleeping quarters and the hospital. Suddenly the lights turn off and you gasp at the surprise, running into Arlecchino’s back as you adjust to the darkness.
“The maids must have finished their work,” she murmurs, reaching for a candle on a high (higher than the children,) shelf and lit it with a set of matches beside it. Arlecchino led the way with candlelight, staring straight ahead as if looking at you would cause her to turn to stone.
Eventually she stops at a room, nearly at the end of the hall. “This is yours,” she says, unlocking the door with a key from her pocket she must have had in preparation for your arrival. She hands you the key after unlocking and opens the door. You step inside, looking around the dark room. You can’t make out much, but as Arlecchino begins lighting the candles with her own, you can see that the place is very plainly decorated but still homey at the same time. There is a large, plush bed, windows, even a little study area and lots of doilies.
“Can I decorate?” You ask, sitting on the bed, placing your suitcase beside you on the floor.
Arlecchino smirks again, but nods. “However you wish. I’ll show you my room another time, but I trust you are tired and would like to rest after such a long commute,” she turns and shuts the door behind her, but as she walks down the empty, dark hallway, she hears you unlatch the door behind her and call out “Goodnight!”
The next morning you awaken to your alarm, set for six. The sun shines through your window and you can’t help but feel cozy in bed, warm, finely crafted sheets bunched around your body and the large windows of the highest floor allowing sunlight to peek through and embrace you as you blink away the stupor of sleep. Then you remember where you are, and the duties laid out for you. You are to be Peruere- no, Arlecchino’s right hand. Her partner, if you will. Support her decisions and help her to raise the children with dignity and fighting spirits. Or that’s what you remember being told, anyway. You dress yourself and then begin your descent down the long hallways and steep stairs of The House, seeing more open doors than last night. Some of the children are still in their rooms, talking to roommates, some are playing with toys, and some stare at you as you walk by with wary eyes. You try to smile as sweetly as you can, but they only shrink further into their rooms. It will take time, you suppose…
Arlecchino is in the kitchen, sitting at a little table with a mug in one hand, the paper in the other. Beside her sits a little boy, holding a little penguin toy on the table as it bounces mechanically.
“Father,” you say, taking the first step in conversation and starting it yourself. The cooks look up at you, staring before continuing their job when Arlecchino snaps her fingers. “My night was very comfortable. Thank you for showing such hospitality.”
She hums into her mug as she takes a sip. The boy looks up at you, his head cocked in a curious way. You tilt your head back at him and he smiles shyly.
“Who is this?” You ask as you sit beside him. He glanced nervously at Arlecchino, who watched silently before sitting up to turn the penguin toward you.
“His name is Pers,” he says softly, twisting the wind on his back to make him jump around. The penguin is so lively and loud, unlike this boy before you.
“He’s so cute. I’ve never seen anybody like him before, is he unique?”
“I made him,” says the boy bashfully, tugging the penguin back into his arms, hugging the mechanical bird to his chest.
“And what would your name be?” You ask, resisting the urge to overwhelm the boy with affection. He was too sweet. You couldn’t imagine a boy like him being a part of the Fatui, but he’s clearly very skilled if he could make Pers at such a young age. It’s likely he’s just as skilled with more dubious hobbies as well...
“Freminet,” he murmurs softly. Freminet looks up at Arlecchino, who seems to silently answer his own silent question and then hops off the chair and runs into the other room. Arlecchino chuckles into her mug, gazing at you over her paper.
“He will need time to warm to you. If you wish for immediate friendship, I can show you some others who will take to you.”
“Well, I don’t expect that of the children,” you say, leaning to look at the paper she’s reading. She watches you with intrigue, how you effortlessly lean into her personal space like it means nothing at all. “I would like it if you introduced me to them, though. Maybe if it came from you, they would feel more comfortable around me.”
She hums noncommittally and sets her mug down. “Do you have any idea what your job is here?”
You blink at her, then smile ever so slightly. “Be a mother?”
Arlecchino laughs, a low raspy sound. “Neither do I…”

anyway, thank you for the request, hope you enjoy! ⋆˚✿˖°
The first time I met Jinx, I had no idea my life was about to change in ways I couldn’t even imagine. We met on the very first day of high school. My first impression of her? The bright blue hair, of course—it was impossible to miss—and the fact that she was insanely smart, like should-have-skipped-high-school-and-gone-straight-to-college smart. Her intelligence wasn’t just impressive; it ended up saving my skin more times than I can count.
One of those times was during our first biology project. The teacher paired us together, and Jinx offered to work on it at her house. She mentioned that her dad wasn’t home and her sister would probably be out late because of basketball practice. It worked perfectly for me because my house was not an option.
So, off to Jinx’s house we went. She lived in this quirky, mismatched house attached to her dad’s bar. The second I stepped into her room, I knew I was in a completely different world. The walls were covered in her sketches—like, really good sketches—and there were mechanical parts scattered around from her various projects. It wasn’t messy, though; it was… creative chaos. Her room had so much personality, like every inch of it told a story about her.
We dove into the project and worked on it for hours. Time flew by so quickly I didn’t even realize how late it had gotten until her sister came home. And wow—Vi. That was her name, as I later learned. She was two years older than us and looked incredible in her basketball uniform. She had this effortless confidence about her, like she didn’t even have to try to be cool.
“Who’s this?” Vi asked Jinx, tossing her hair back casually and wiping her forehead with the bottom of her jersey. The motion gave me a quick glimpse of her abs under the loose uniform, and—wow—I definitely wasn’t prepared for that.
“Oh, this is Y/N,” Jinx said before I could even attempt to respond. “She’s in my bio class. We were working on a project, but she’s about to head out.”
I was grateful Jinx stepped in because, honestly, I felt like I’d forgotten how to speak. Vi was… hypnotizing. The way she stood there, so effortlessly cool, it made my cheeks heat up instantly. I was pretty sure I wasn’t drooling, but the tightness in my chest told me I was one awkward moment away from embarrassing myself.
“H-Hi,” I managed to mutter, giving her a tiny, shy wave. My voice cracked slightly, which only made me want to crawl under a rock.
Vi’s lips curled into a teasing smile as she crossed her arms, leaning casually against the doorframe. “Hi,” she replied, her voice warm but laced with playful sarcasm. “Nice to meet one of my sister’s friends. First one, in fact.”
“Hey!” Jinx protested, rolling her eyes. “I have friends.”
Vi raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. “Sure you do.” Then, turning back to me, she added, “You must be special. Jinx doesn’t usually invite people over. Did she bribe you with snacks or something?”
I laughed nervously, still hyper-aware of her presence. “No snacks, just… science, I guess.”
Vi chuckled, the sound low and almost musical, and it sent a weird flutter through my chest. “Well, don’t let her scare you off. She might be a pain, but she’s harmless.”
“Gee, thanks,” Jinx muttered sarcastically, tossing a pillow in Vi’s direction. Vi caught it with ease, smirking before tossing it back onto Jinx’s bed.
“Anyway,” Vi said, straightening up, “it was nice meeting you, Y/N. Don’t be a stranger, okay?”
I nodded, still feeling like I was stuck in some kind of surreal dream. “Nice meeting you too,” I mumbled, trying not to sound as flustered as I felt.
As Vi turned to leave, she glanced back over her shoulder with a playful wink, and my heart practically stopped. Once she was gone, I let out a breath I didn’t realize I’d been holding.
“So,” Jinx said, breaking the silence with a sly grin, “you’re blushing.”
“What? No, I’m not!” I protested quickly, though the heat radiating from my face told a different story.
“Oh, you so are,” she teased, leaning back in her chair and folding her arms. “Don’t worry, you’re not the first person to fall for Vi’s charm. She has that effect on people.”
“Great,” I muttered under my breath, feeling more embarrassed by the second.
──────────────────────
From that day on, I made every excuse possible to go to Jinx’s house. Studying for a test? Jinx’s house. Working on a project? Jinx’s house. Binge-watching the new show we both got into? Definitely at Jinx’s house.
And don’t get me wrong—it wasn’t just because of Vi (though Jinx would totally argue otherwise). I genuinely loved being there. Jinx’s house had this warmth to it, a chaotic but comforting energy that made me feel like I belonged. After I met Vander, Jinx’s dad, the place felt even more like a second home. Vander was the kind of guy who made everyone feel welcome. He’d always crack a joke or offer food, and he treated me like I was part of the family from the start.
But… yeah. My crush on Vi? It only got worse. I found myself lurking in hallways or hanging around the kitchen, hoping to catch even a quick glimpse of her. Every time I saw her, I tried to muster up the courage to start a conversation. The problem was, as soon as I opened my mouth, my brain seemed to short-circuit.
One morning, after a sleepover at Jinx’s, I went downstairs to grab a glass of water. I wasn’t expecting to see anyone, but there she was standing in the kitchen in sweatpants and a sports bra making breakfast.
“Good morning,” Vi said, her voice casual as she kept her eyes on the pan in front of her. “Do you want breakfast?”
For a second, I forgot how to form words. “Oh, uh—if it’s not a bother, yeah, I’d like some,” I managed to say, grabbing a glass of water and sitting at the kitchen table.
The silence between us grew heavier by the second as she scrambled eggs, and I couldn’t think of a single thing to say. My mind was blank—well, except for the part of me panicking about how awkward I probably looked. Desperate to fill the silence, I blurted out the first thing that popped into my head.
“Did you know that eggshells have, like, 17,000 pores?”
Vi froze for a moment and slowly turned to look at me, one eyebrow raised, like I’d just sprouted a second head. “Uh… no. I didn’t know that.”
“Yeah,” I said weakly, feeling my face heat up. “Fun fact, I guess.”
She gave me a small, amused smile and went back to cooking. But the damage was done—I was mortified. From that day on, I vowed to never start a conversation with Vi unless someone else was there to save me from myself.
Of course, I made the mistake of telling Jinx about the whole thing. She laughed so hard I thought she might pass out, and for the next week, she didn’t let me live it down. Every time we hung out, she’d drop random egg facts just to tease me.
“Hey, did you know an ostrich egg can support the weight of a grown man?” she’d say, smirking.
Or: “Apparently, chickens can lay blue eggs. Do you think Vi would be impressed if you told her that?”
──────────────────────
During our sophomore year, my crush on Vi only grew worse. I didn’t miss a single one of her basketball games—not one. Did I know anything about basketball? Absolutely not. I couldn’t even follow the rules half the time. But it didn’t matter. Watching her on the court, seeing her light up whenever she scored, and that radiant smile she wore when her team won—it was enough to keep me coming back.
Of course, I dragged Jinx along to every game. She didn’t care much for sports and made a point of complaining loudly about how boring it was, but I think deep down she knew why I was so invested. “You’re hopeless,” she’d say with a smirk whenever I got flustered after Vi waved at us from the court.
The best part, though, was after the games. Vi always made a point to come over and talk to us. Well, to Jinx mostly, but she’d smile at me, too, and ask me questions like, “What did you think of the game?” or “Did you see that last play?” And every time, I’d stumble through some vague answer because honestly, I’d been too busy staring at her to pay attention to the game itself.
Being around her made me so happy. Just those small moments of acknowledgment, those little smiles and casual conversations, were enough to keep my heart racing for days. But deep down, I knew the truth: Vi only saw me as Jinx’s younger friend. A little sister, at best. She’d made that painfully clear on multiple occasions.
Once, when we were all hanging out after a game, someone jokingly suggested that I had a crush on Vi. I don’t even remember who said it—maybe one of her teammates—but I remember how Vi laughed it off immediately. “Oh, Y/N? She’s like a kid sister,” she said with a grin, ruffling my hair like I was some kind of puppy.
It stung, but I tried to play it off, laughing along even as my chest tightened. I told myself it didn’t matter. Having her in my life at all, even as a friend or honorary sibling, was better than nothing. But the truth was, every time she called me “kid”, it felt like a gentle reminder of how impossible my feelings for her really were.
──────────────────────
After Vi moved to college, I knew I had to let go. The multiple reminders that she only saw me as a kid—Jinx’s best friend who told weird egg facts—played on a loop in my head. I told myself it was time to move on, to stop clinging to a fantasy that would never happen. But trying to move on was so much harder than I expected.
I started looking for pieces of her in everyone I met. Every girl I got to know, every potential crush—I couldn’t help but compare them to Vi. How a girl would act a certain way, and the first thing I’d think was, “Vi would never do that.” Or if someone treated me poorly, I’d find myself muttering, “Vi would never treat me like that.” It wasn’t fair to anyone, but it was like she’d set this impossible standard that no one else could meet.
I’d only see her during winter break when she came home for the holidays. And every time, I’d convince myself that I was over her. I’d spent months trying to push her out of my heart, convincing myself that I was ready to move on, that I’d grown out of the crush. But then she’d walk through the door, her hair tied back, that easy smile on her face, and all those carefully constructed walls I’d built would come crashing down.
The feelings would flood back, twenty times stronger than before. It was like no time had passed, like I was still the same lovesick kid who couldn’t even hold a conversation with her without blurting out the first time that came to mind.
It became a painful loop. I’d spend most of the year trying to heal, trying to forget her, only for everything to unravel the second I saw her again. Seeing her with new eyes—older, more confident, and more out of reach than ever—made it even harder. She’d tell us about college, about her team and the new people she’d met, and I’d smile and nod like I wasn’t aching inside.
Jinx, of course, noticed. She always did. “You’re still hung up on her, aren’t you?” she asked me one night, not unkindly.
I didn’t even bother denying it. “It’s not like I can help it,” I said, shrugging helplessly. “It’s just… her.”
Jinx sighed, shaking her head. “You’re gonna have to let her go someday, you know.”
“I know,” I whispered. But knowing didn’t make it any easier.
It wasn’t just a crush anymore. It was a pattern, a piece of me that I couldn’t seem to shake. No matter how hard I tried to move on, Vi had become this impossible figure in my life—someone who I loved deeply but knew I could never have. And every time she left again for college, I’d start the process all over, trying to forget her, trying to move forward, only to be thrown right back into the same cycle when she came home.
──────────────────────
Senior year was chaotic. Between applying for colleges, writing essays, and preparing for exams, Jinx and I barely had time to hang out. But at least we were both focused on our futures. Amid all the stress, though, something good did happen: a new transfer student arrived at our school in the second trimester. Her name was Ava. She was tall, athletic, and impossibly chatty.
Ava was different, she was the kind of person who could talk to anyone and make them feel at ease. It wasn’t long before the three of us were inseparable, hanging out together whenever we could. By the time we finally had a breather, it was almost Christmas, and things had shifted. Ava and I had started dating. We hadn’t officially gone out on a date yet, but with classes winding down, we finally had the chance to.
But just when things seemed to be falling into place, Vi came home for the holidays. I hadn’t seen her in months, and I’d convinced myself that I was over her, that I had moved on. But the second I walked into her house, I saw her standing there, and all those feelings I thought I’d buried rushed back like a tidal wave.
She was leaning against the doorway, effortlessly cool in a casual outfit, talking to Jinx. She laughed at something Jinx said, and the sound of her laughter hit me like a punch to the gut. I froze, just watching her, telling myself over and over that I was with Ava now, that I was past this. But seeing Vi again made it feel like I hadn’t moved on at all.
She turned and caught my eye, her smile softening as she waved. “Hey, kid,” she said, her voice light and teasing, the same as always.
I waved back, trying to mask the rush of emotions flooding through me. “Hey,” I replied with a smile, turning to Jinx for a distraction. “Are you free to help me with my outfit for my date?” I asked, pretending that everything was normal, even though my heart was doing flips.
Jinx grinned, her eyes glinting with mischief. “Date night, huh? Sure, I’ve got you covered.” She shot a playful glance at Vi before pulling me toward her room.
As I followed Jinx down the hall, I couldn’t help but notice the way Vi’s gaze lingered on me for just a moment too long. Maybe I was imagining it, but part of me wondered if she had noticed my discomfort, my attempt to shield myself from the rush of emotions that still tied me to her.
Once we were safely in Jinx’s room, I let out a breath I didn’t realize I’d been holding. “I’m fine,” I muttered, trying to convince myself as much as Jinx.
“You sure about that?” Jinx asked with a knowing smile. “I’ve seen that look before. You’re definitely not fine.”
I sighed, running a hand through my hair. “I’m just… trying to keep it together. I thought I was over her, you know? But the second I saw her again…”
“Yeah, I get it,” Jinx said softly, her voice carrying an understanding I hadn’t expected. “Listen, before you get into this relationship with Ava, I think you should talk to Vi. I know you think she’s this impossible person to reach, but you’ve liked her for so long, and you deserve to know where you stand. Give it a shot, at least. You have my blessing, you know.”
“I’ll think about it, okay?” I said, pushing the thoughts aside as I pulled a few outfits out of my bag, trying to distract myself with the decision of what to wear for my date.
The night passed in a blur, but on my way home, Jinx’s words echoed in my mind. It wasn’t fair to Ava. I was starting something with her, and yet I couldn’t shake the weight of my feelings for Vi. How could I be with someone when my heart was still stuck in the past? Maybe Jinx was right—maybe I owed it to myself, and to Ava, to talk to Vi and finally face whatever was left unsaid between us.
What did I have to lose? Next year, I’d be moving out and I’d never have to face this awkward tension again. But if I kept pretending, kept pushing my feelings aside, would I ever really be able to move on?
It was hard to ignore the familiar ache in my chest, the one that seemed to tighten every time I thought of Vi. But Jinx was right about one thing: I couldn’t keep dragging Ava into something if I wasn’t emotionally available. It wasn’t fair to her. I needed to know, once and for all, if there was something left between Vi and me.
The more I thought about it, the more I realized I was running out of time to make that choice. If I didn’t talk to Vi now, I might never get the chance. So, what was stopping me? Fear? The same fear that had held me back all these years?
──────────────────────
I texted Ava, asking if she could come over earlier than we had planned. I had made up my mind—she should be the first person I talked to. If I was going to sort through this mess of emotions, I needed to be honest with her, no matter how hard it felt. As nervous as I was, deep down, I knew that what I was doing was the right thing.
When I heard the soft knock on the door, my heart jumped into my throat. Taking a deep breath, I opened it.
“Hi,” I said, trying to keep my voice steady. Ava stood there, her tall frame filling the doorway, her face puzzled but kind. Her brown eyes searched mine, like she could sense something was off.
“Hey,” she said slowly. “Is everything okay?”
“Yeah... well, no,” I admitted, stepping aside to let her in. “Do you wanna come in so we can talk?”
Ava hesitated for a moment, then nodded, stepping inside. She followed me to the living room, where we sat across from each other on the couch. The air between us was thick with unspoken tension.
“What’s going on?” she asked, her voice soft but direct.
I swallowed hard, clasping my hands together to keep them from shaking. “Ava, you’ve been nothing but amazing. You’re funny, kind, and so easy to be around. But... I don’t think I’ve been fair to you.”
Her brows furrowed, and she tilted her head slightly. “What do you mean?”
I took a deep breath, feeling the weight of my words before they left my lips. “When we started talking, I thought I was ready. I thought I was over... someone from my past. But seeing them again recently made me realize that I’m not. And it’s not fair to you to start something when I’m still trying to sort through those feelings.”
Ava’s expression softened, but I could see the flicker of disappointment in her eyes. “So... this person, they’re the reason you’ve been hesitant with me?”
I nodded, guilt twisting in my chest. “I didn’t mean to let it get this far without telling you. I really like you, Ava, and I didn’t want to hurt you. But I need to be honest—with you and with myself. I can’t give you what you deserve if I’m still stuck on someone else.”
She was quiet for a moment, processing what I’d said. Then she let out a small, humorless laugh. “Well, at least you’re honest about it. I can’t say it doesn’t hurt, but I appreciate you telling me now instead of dragging it out.”
“I’m so sorry,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
“It’s okay,” she replied, though I could tell it wasn’t. “You’re doing the right thing. And for what it’s worth, I hope you figure it out—whatever it is you need to do. You deserve to be happy too.”
Her words hit me harder than I expected, and for a moment, all I could do was nod. We sat there in silence for a little while longer before Ava stood up to leave.
As I walked Ava to the door, she turned back and gave me one last hug. It was warm, yet it carried a bittersweet finality. "Take care of yourself, okay?" she whispered before stepping away.
I stood at the doorway, watching her retreat down the sidewalk, the weight of the conversation still pressing on my chest. But just as Ava disappeared around the corner, I noticed someone else walking toward me.
Vi.
Her flushed cheeks and uneven breathing told me she had been running. Her hair was slightly disheveled, and there was a look in her eyes I couldn’t quite place—somewhere between urgency and worry.
“Am I too late?” she asked, her voice breathless as she approached me.
“Too late for what?” I asked, utterly confused. What was she doing here? Why did she look so distressed?
She paused at the bottom of the steps, hands on her knees as she caught her breath. When she stood upright again, her eyes met mine, and I saw something there I hadn’t seen before. “Yesterday, after you left, I talked to Jinx and my dad...”
Her words hung in the air, unfinished, and I felt my heartbeat quicken.
“Okay... and?” I prompted, unsure where she was going with this but unable to ignore the flicker of hope rising in my chest.
Vi rubbed the back of her neck, her usual confidence faltering. “Jinx told me everything,” she admitted, her voice quieter now. “About how you’ve felt... for years.”
My stomach dropped. “She what?”
“She told me,” Vi repeated, taking a tentative step closer. “At first, I didn’t believe her. I mean, how could I? I always thought you just saw me as... Jinx’s annoying older sister.” She let out a nervous laugh. “But the more she talked, the more I realized how blind I’ve been. I guess I just didn’t want to see it.”
I was frozen, my mind spinning. “Vi, I—”
“Wait,” she interrupted, holding up a hand. “Let me finish.” She stepped onto the porch, now standing just a few feet away from me. “After I talked to Jinx, I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I talked to my dad too, and he basically told me the same thing Jinx did—that I’ve been an idiot for not noticing what was right in front of me.”
Her words hit me like a wave, and I struggled to process them. “Vi, what are you trying to say?”
She took another step closer, her expression softening. “I’m saying that I might’ve been blind before, but I’m not anymore. And if there’s even a chance that I haven’t completely screwed this up... I want to try.”
My breath caught in my throat. “Try what?”
“You and me,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “If you still feel the same way, I want to see where this goes. I know I’ve probably hurt you by being clueless all these years, and I’m sorry for that. But I don’t want to miss this chance. Not anymore.”
I stared at her, my heart racing. This was everything I had ever wanted to hear, but it felt almost too good to be true.
“Vi...” I started, my voice trembling. “You don’t have to say this just because Jinx told you. I don’t want you to feel pressured—”
“I’m not,” she cut me off firmly. “This is me, finally realizing that I’ve been pushing away something—someone—who means more to me than I ever let myself admit. So, what do you say?”
Her eyes searched mine, filled with a mix of vulnerability and hope, and for a moment, all the words I could’ve said vanished from my mind. Talking had never been my strong suit anyway, and I knew there was only one way to show her exactly how I felt.
I took a deep breath, closed the small gap between us, and kissed her.
The world seemed to freeze for a second. Her lips were soft, and the warmth of her touch was more grounding than I ever imagined it could be. For a heartbeat, I worried she might pull away, that maybe I’d misunderstood her words or her intentions. But then, she kissed me back, her hands gently resting on my waist, pulling me closer.
Every emotion I had bottled up for years seemed to pour into that kiss—every moment of longing, every glance I had stolen, every dream I thought would never come true. And now, here she was, holding me as if I’d always belonged there.
When we finally pulled apart, her forehead rested against mine, both of us catching our breath. She chuckled softly, her voice warm and teasing. “I guess that’s one way to answer.”
I smiled, still too overwhelmed to form a coherent sentence. “Words aren’t really my thing,” I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.
“They don’t have to be,” she said, her hand brushing a strand of hair from my face. “That was pretty clear.”
──────────────────────
And that’s how I find myself today—married to the love of my life, Vi, with two beautiful daughters who are the perfect mix of chaos and joy. Sometimes, when I look at her across the dinner table or watch her playing basketball with the girls in the driveway, I can’t help but wonder how different things could have been.
If Jinx hadn’t told Vi about my feelings, would I have ever found the courage to tell her myself? Would we have gone our separate ways, lost to time and distance, living entirely different lives? Would destiny have been kind enough to let us meet again later in life? And even if it had, would the outcome have been the same?
I think about it often—how fragile our connection once seemed, teetering on the edge of a confession that might never have come. It’s a reminder of how one brave moment, one nudge in the right direction, can change everything.
Jinx, of course, loves to remind me that she’s the reason for my happiness. “You owe me big time,” she says with a grin every time the story comes up. And honestly, she’s not wrong. If it weren’t for her meddling—or as she calls it, genius matchmaking—I might not be sitting here today, surrounded by the family I never dreamed I could have.
But destiny, as unpredictable and wild as it is, seemed to have a soft spot for us. It gave me the love of my life, someone who challenges me, grounds me, and loves me unconditionally. And while the what-ifs might linger in my mind from time to time, I know one thing for sure: I wouldn’t change a single moment of our journey.
Because every twist, every hesitation, every step forward brought us here—to this messy, beautiful life we’ve built together. And I couldn’t ask for anything more.

I saw you were taking requests so I decided to submit one!
Thinking of some Older!Eddie smut where him and the reader are neighbors in an apartment complex. The reader has a huge crush on Eddie but is too afraid to say anything. They have bumped into each other a couple times and have had a few casual conversations in the mailroom or at the park. He notices her trying to move furniture into her apartment on her own and offers to help. How can she ever repay him? 👀👀
This might be my favorite request yet!
Older!Eddie x fem!reader
cw: reader is 25 and Eddie is 40, MDNI 18+ smut, unprotected sex (please don’t do this)
You stood in the lobby of your building, staring down at the giant chair that had definitely seemed smaller online. You had ordered a something small to read in and what had been sent to you could easily sit two people instead of one. There was absolutely no way you were going to get it upstairs by yourself and also no way you were going to going to ask anyone for help. You just felt like you were a bother.
Knowing that you couldn’t leave it in the lobby, you took a deep breath and grabbed onto one of the arms and pulled it. Once it didn’t move, you pulled again and again until it started to slide. You were able to get it across the floor to the elevator, but it got caught on something, causing you to fall back just as the elevator door opened.
“God, are you okay?” A voice asked as whoever it belonged to rushed to your side.
“I’m fine, it’s just this stupid fucking-“ you cut yourself off as you realized that your neighbor that you had been crushing on had been right in front of you. His brown eyes bored into yours as he searched for any sign that you had been hurt.
Eddie offered you his hand and you took it, letting him help you to your feet. You quickly pulled your hand away and brushed yourself off, afraid to look him in the eye. He was just too pretty and off limits. He was fifteen years older than you and you were sure that he wasn’t interested in you in the slightest.
You both had said hello to each other in the mailroom and at the park where the two of you liked to take walks, but him greeting you with a few words didn’t necessarily mean that he liked you. He was just trying to be nice, you were sure of it.
“Is this yours?” He asked, pointing at the chair and you just sighed, collapsing into it, causing Eddie to laugh. You were suddenly embarrassed of the thing, very much wanting it out of your sight.
“Yes,” you let out another sigh. “But it’s very heavy, so I guess I’m just going to have to leave it here and get in trouble with the building.”
Eddie felt bad for you being in such a predicament, and despite his want to never get to know any of his neighbors, he felt the need to help you. He couldn’t let such a beautiful woman try to get a large couch up to her apartment by herself, could he?
If he was being honest, he always looked forward to seeing you whenever you had run into each other. You had always been sweet to him and it had been very obvious that you had a crush on him with the way that your cheeks blushed when he made eye contact and your open flirting. Eddie was no fool.
“I could help you get it upstairs if you want.” You sat up at his offer, vigorously shaking your head as you did so.
“Oh no,” you stood up from the chair. “I couldn’t ask you to do that.” You did want the help, but felt like he probably (definitely) had better things to do.
“You’re not asking.” He stepped towards you. “I’m offering.”
“It’s really heavy.” You showed him by trying and failing to lift the side of the chair, barely able to even lift it off the ground.
Eddie moved towards the chair and you moved out of the way as he picked it up in one swift motion. You headed for the elevator and pressed the button with the up arrow on it, waiting for it to open. The way he was standing gave you a perfect of his flexing bicep that you wanted to wrap tightly around you as he pressed a filthy kiss to your mouth.
You were embarrassed by how badly you wanted him, thinking about him at pretty much every waking moment. Some of your thoughts were innocent, like how he would definitely hold you in his arms as you both fell asleep. And some not so innocent, like the way you wanted him to fuck you so hard that you couldn’t walk afterwards.
You didn’t know why you were even thinking about him or why you were so attracted to him. But he was so hot with the way he always had his hair pulled up into a bun and the way he dressed with his muscle tanks and jeans that hugged his ass just right. You were so down bad that it was sad.
The elevator doors opened and Eddie stepped into it, holding the chair as if it was light as a feather. You got in after him and pressed the button that would take you to your floor and the doors closed.
“Are you sure it’s not heavy? I can help.” You reached for the chair but Eddie just backed away.
“Nope, you just stand there and look pretty, okay?” You turned away, feeling your cheeks burn at his compliment, not wanting him to see your face.
Before you knew it, the elevator doors opened on your floor and Eddie insisted that you go before him. You walked down the hall and he followed you, adjusting the chair in his arms so it was more comfortable. You got to your door and quickly unlocked it before moving aside, letting Eddie bring the chair in.
“Where do you want it?” He asked and you pointed to the corner by the window that led out to your fire escape.
“Right there.” Eddie moved quickly and set the chair down exactly where you wanted it before collapsing into it with a sigh. He leaned back into it and rested his hand behind his head as he closed his eyes. You chewed your bottom lip as you imagined yourself straddling his waist as his hand rode up your skirt, gripping your thighs as you pressed your lips to his neck, eliciting the most beautiful moans from him.
“This is nice,” he sighed and you felt yourself getting wet at the sound. He then rose from the chair and stuffed his hands into his pockets as he headed towards you. “Was that all you needed?”
“Yeah,” you nodded. “Thank you so much. I don’t know how I could ever repay you for your generosity.” Little did you know that Eddie was having the exact same thoughts, wondering what it would be like to place his lips on yours. And that’s when he got the idea.
“How about a kiss?” Your eyes widened at that, but he quickly turned his face to the side pointing at his cheek.
“Oh, right,” you nodded. Of course that was all he wanted. How stupid of you to think he would have wanted a kiss on the lips.
You leaned forward and pressed a lingering peck to his cheek and he closed his eyes, loving the way your warm lips felt against his skin. You pulled back after a few seconds then stepped away, putting your hands behind your back so you wouldn’t be able to pull him in for a real kiss.
“Have a good night, y/n. And may I just say, you have excellent taste in chairs.” He gave you a small waved and you opened the door for him.
“Thank you.” You gulped, wanting him to stay. He couldn’t leave now. You had a feeling he would have if you had just asked, but you the words wouldn’t come out of your mouth.
“You’re very welcome,” he winked then headed out into the hall and you watched him walk the few steps it took to get to his own apartment that was next door. He stepped inside and gave you another wink before closing his door gently.
You slowly walked back to your own place and shut the door before leaning against it. The hottest man you had ever seen had just been in your apartment and you hadn’t taken the chance to jump his bones like you were sure anyone else in the building would have. You had heard the whispers when he entered the mail room, all of the moms giggling about how attractive he was. And you had seen people turn their heads when he passed them at the park. The was a fine piece of ass and you were kicking yourself because you hadn’t hit that. If you had just-
Your words were cut off by a knock at your door. You weren’t expecting anyone so you were unsure of who it could’ve been. You slowly stood up and took a peek through the peephole only to see Eddie on the other side. With your curiosity getting the best of you, you opened the door putting on a bright smile.
“Forgetting something?” You asked and Eddie stepped closer to you.
“Well, I was wondering if I could change my payment?” Change his payment? What the fuck could he have possibly wanted?
“Well, that depends on what you’re wanting.” You stepped forward so that you were toe to toe.
“Well, I was wanting a real kiss, if that’s okay?” That was so okay. More than okay, in fact. It was perfect.
“I thought you’d never ask.” You grabbed onto the collar of his shirt and pulled him inside as he pressed his lips to yours. His nose dug into your cheek because of the pressure but you hardly minded.
His hands grabbed onto your waist and pulled you to him as your arms wrapped around his neck. He stepped forwards and you mimicked him, the two of you moving further into your apartment as his tongue swiped along your bottom lip. You let him lick into your mouth as you back him up to the chair, breaking the kiss only to push him into it.
Eddie collapsed into the chair and you took no time to straddle his waist, his hand resting on your waist as yours moved to his hair.
“Go ahead,” he nodded and you removed the hair tie from it, putting it onto your wrist before fixing his hair and making it look nice. Why, you weren’t sure since you were just going to mess it up again.
“You looked so pretty with your hair down,” you told him. “Your curls are so pretty. You’re pretty.” Eddie blushed at that and if you noticed, you didn’t say anything about it. He considered himself to be an attractive guy, but hearing you call him pretty made his confidence skyrocket.
“If anyone’s pretty here, it’s you, hon.” Now it was your turned to blush, but you resisted the urge to turn away.
“Really?” You just couldn’t believe it. Maybe he wasn’t just being nice to you.
“Oh yeah. You’re beautiful.” He pressed a kiss to your cheek. “And gorgeous.” A kiss to your other cheek. “And not to mention fucking hot.” His lips captured yours in another messy kiss as his hand slid up your skirt, his hand resting on the spot right above your ass. “Is this okay?”
“More than okay,” you replied, slotting your lips between his as you wound your hands into his hair, loving how soft it felt between yours fingers. Eddie’s hands slowly slipped into your underwear, giving you enough time to deny him if you didn’t want him to continue. He slowly pulled them down and you pulled away, causing him to stop everything.
“You really want to?” You asked, biting down on your bottom lip. You could have sworn that you were dreaming.
“I want to so bad, sugar.” The words came out more like a whine and your underwear got even more damp with hearing it.
“I guess it’s what I owe you for bringing this all the way up here.” You batted your lashes and Eddie felt his dick hardening at the thought of fucking you right there.
“You don’t owe me anything. I want you to want this, not because you think I deserve it.”
“I want it.” Eddie patted around his pockets, clearly looking for something and his eyes widened once he realized he didn’t have whatever it was.
“Fuck,” Eddie swore and your eyes snapped back up to his eyes.
“What?”
“I don’t have a condom.” That definitely wasn’t great, but you could work around it.
“Shit, me neither. But I’m on birth control and I’m clean.”
“Me too.” As soon as the words left his mouth, Eddie pulled your underwear down as much as he could before you stood up and removed them completely letting them fall to the floor into a pile. You then removed your skirt as slow as possible, looking Eddie in the eye as you did so. He watched you, bringing his bottom lip between his teeth, his eyes filling with lust.
You let the skirt pool at your feet then kicked it aside before removing your top and your bra. You let the strap fall from your fingers and clatter to the floor and stood there while Eddie rushed to undress himself.
He removed his shirt then unbuttoned his pants then pulled off his boxers before tossing them aside as well. Your eyes immediately fell onto his dick and you could t help but stare at how massive it was. Of course he was huge.
You climbed back into the chair and slowly settled yourself onto Eddie’s dick, you both letting out moans as he entered you. You rode his cock slowly, trying to get used to the feeling of it being bare inside your cunt. Once you got onto a rhythm, you moved faster, wanting it harder.
“Oh,” Eddie let out a moan as his hips bucked against yours, trying to get as far inside you as he could. “So good, baby. Love the way you look riding me.”
His words only encouraged you to move faster, the two of you moaning in unison at the sensation.
“And you look so good under me. You feel so good, Eds.” Your words came out like a whimper and that only made Eddie harder.
Eddie threw his head back, his eyes shutting tight as his hands found your ass, digging his fingers into the skin and you let out a gasp at feeling, but you didn’t hate it. You continued to ride him the fastest you could and you both let out moan after moan, not wanting the pleasure to end.
“Taking me so well, baby,” Eddie told you as his fingers dug further into your skin and you kind of wanted it to bruise so you could look in the mirror and remember that night.
“Well, it helps that you feel so good.” You each gave one last push and you normally would have been concerned at how loud you were, but with Eddie, you didn’t care. You were just lucky to have the chance to be with him like that.
You got off of Eddie and held out a hand to him to help him up from the chair that you were definitely going to wash thoroughly. You led him to the bathroom where you cleaned each other up before putting your clothes back on.
You couldn’t believe that you had just slept with your crush. Everything that you had thought about before falling asleep had come true and had been just as amazing as you could have hoped. It had all been so perfect that you were convinced that you were going to wake up in your bed any second.
You took Eddie by the hand and led him to the door before opening it. The two of you lingered in the doorway, neither of you wanting to be the one to say goodbye. Eddie pressed kiss after kiss to your lips, promising that it would be the last one, but they just kept coming.
“It’s late,” you told him through giggles.
“Sorry, honey. S’not my fault your lips are so kissable.” He pulled you in for another one.
“I have to work in the morning.” You tried to push him away, but his grip on you only tightened.
“Promise me you won’t be a stranger?” As if you’d ever let that happen.
“I promise,” you nodded, but he didn’t seem satisfied with that.
“Go out with me.” His words sounded so desperate and you thought you would have been stupid to say no.
“I think that can be arranged.” He finally let go of you but only after stealing one more kiss.
“Tomorrow night at seven?”
“It’s a date. Goodnight Eddie.” He finally let go of you but only after stealing one more kiss.
“Goodnight, neighbor.” He gave you yet another wink then turned on his heel. Once he was inside, you went back to your own apartment and let out a squeal as you raced to your closet to look for an outfit to wear on your date. You were beginning to think you should have thanked the delivery guy for dropping the chair off in the lobby instead of inside your apartment. After all, without him, you wouldn’t have even been going on a date with your hot neighbor. Maybe you’d write a note to thank him.

Next chapter
a/n: blame TTPD for this… idk why I keep doing this to myself.
summary: Azriel gets an assignment he can’t seem to decline. Now he has a princess full of attitude under his protection. The only question is whose cold heart will break first.
warnings: past trauma, mean people, age gap but everyone is of age so calm down.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Azriel wasn’t sure who or what he was blaming for the situation that was unfolding. He could blame Rhys, who had put him on this duty. Could blame himself. He had been sloppy during his last assignment and nearly died in the middle of it. Meaning that he had to knock it down a tad. Just until he was fully recovered. And then he could raise his middle fingers at fate. Because she was laughing at him now. He should have just stayed put for a couple more months. Keep it to himself that he was itching to do something. Not sit there practically begging for an assignment. Well, now he dug his own grave, and he was forced to lay in it.
Letting out a deep sigh, Azriel pushes back from the outside wall. Fluttering his wings a couple of times. A short-term thing, Rhys had said when he slipped the document onto the table. It had taken one glance for Azriel to feel the bitter taste in his mouth. But he hated saying no. Even if babysitting wasn’t on his list of duties.
"Ah, sir, it’s so lovely to see you. It is an honor to have the shadowsinger in our presence," an unfamiliar voice pulled him out of his thoughts, making Azriel’s head spin to the side. He had truly been just standing outside the villa for way too long. “Azriel will do just fine," he breathes out, turning to who he assumed was one of the servants. The sweet older man smiles, “I assume you are here to see the high lord." There’s no bitterness in his voice, and there's a true sense of pride there. “Unfortunately...", Azriel grunts, making the male practically gasp under his breath before he quickly pulls himself together. A fake version of the smile he had given Azriel, now neatly plastered on his face, “This way, please.”
Azriel doesn’t let his eyes wander as he walks through the halls. They were never familiar to him, and he doesn’t plan on changing that ever. So he strides along with the servant, wishing he could walk just a little faster. But by the sudden sharp turn, Azriel is quick to realize that no one is taking him to the belly of the beast. A side sunroom. That almost makes Azriel smile. He liked that he wasn’t trusted enough to be greeted in the main office.
"Azriel," a voice that never failed to make Azriel frown, greets him as soon as the wooden door opens. "Eris," Azriel says, fixing his eyes on the male in front of him. A male who looked surprisingly awful. Eris loved looking good and not letting others see the real thing hiding behind the fox mask. "Sit," the new high lord gestured to the plush armchair, but Azriel shakes his head, “I rather not.” Eris lets out a sigh. “I’m sure you’ve seen the request," he says, rubbing a hand over his chin. “Bald of you to request anything truthfully," Azriel crosses his arms over his chest. A slight smile tugs at the fireling lips, “Maybe I like stooping low from time to time.”
But Azriel refused to let on, “You hid her. You went behind the law." That was the first thing he had said to Rhys as well. But, of course, there were exceptions for the royal families even there. “I didn’t hide her," and here it was in that much firmer tone, one that always jumped out when one accused Eris of anything, “Beron did. Used her to control me. Too many souls know that she is a weak link”, “Surprised you didn’t just leave her by the border the way you did with Mor" Azriel cut in, letting that bubbling frustration ooze out. Even if he had promised himself he wouldn’t stoop so low, “She was also a weak link, wasn’t she?”, he jabbed, making Eris clench his fists. From the fire burning in his eyes, Azriel knew that the bite back would be as lethal as it probably would have been if not for the noise outside the room. The sound of feet and a figure practically falling through the door.
"Eris," the voice was breathless, notes of laughter still on it. Tapping of the paws followed suit. As two hounds brushed past the folds of your skirt, rushing towards their true owner, "Eris, look..." your voice hitched as your eyes landed on Azriel. His face remained as cold as it was before, but he had to admit it. Azriel was waiting to see a scrawny girl. Not a young and mature female. Sharp autumn features. And those breathtaking green eyes...
“Oh, I...”, you quickly lowered your head, “I will come by later," but before you didn’t even turn, before Eris grunted, “No, come in, YN." You blinked a couple of times, clearly confused as to why you might be needed here. “What’s going on?", the question was practically a whisper as you wiped the dirt-covered hands on the skirt that looked nothing like the kind a princess should wear.
“There will be changes happening," Eris said, placing his hands on the table, “You’ve been misbehaving." A light chuckle slipped past your lips. “What?" you breathed, shaking your head. “I do not have the patience nor time to run after you," the high lord said, waving his hand in the air. And that was all it took to make your shoulders droop. Your big eyes staring back at your brother, but Azriel sensed the shift in your energy. He saw the twitch in Eris’s hands, but he didn’t back down. “The spymaster will be taking you with him. You’re to behave accordingly,", “I will not go anywhere with that… tree of a man," you hissed, pointing to Azriel, who almost laughed at the insult. If one could even call it that. “What is this nonsense you’re weaving?”, you stepped forward, demanding an answer.
“Mind your tone, young lady," Eris growled, pointing a warning finger at you. The room grew quiet. You could hear the flickering of the candles. A heartbeat. One, two, three. “I will stay in my room; I won’t go anywhere, I promise," you begged. Desperation. A nice weapon. But Azriel doubted that it would work on Eris. “You said that the last time and then proceeded to sneak out with Makoa."  Eris reached for the glass bottle, pulling a glass out. He had already settled on his decision, and he was showing you just that. “That was one time," you whispered, desperately trying to catch your brother’s eye.
“Don’t lie to me," Eris chuckled. “I’m not," and you weren’t. Azriel felt it. He knew that Eris felt it too. “Pack what you need. You’re to leave as soon as possible. Further instructions will be given to you through the spymaster," and that was it. Dismissed. For a moment, Azriel thought that he would have to watch you cry. Beg maybe. “That’s all?”, you hissed through gritted teeth. “You want me to kiss it better?”, Eris asked. A breath hitched in your throat. Knuckles turning white from how hard you clenched your fists. You just spun on your heel. Candles dancing in your movement. A harsh slam of the door.
Eris let out a shaky breath, but Azriel couldn’t help the laughter that bubbled from his lips. “You are a different breed," the spymaster said, shaking his head. “It will be easier this way," Eris muttered, not taking his eyes from the door. “I beg to differ," Azriel pointed out, turning to leave as well. “I didn’t ask for your opinion, shadowsinger," the fireling bit back. Azriel turned to face him once more. “But you asked for my help," and he knew he had a winning card in his hands. “I’m not doing this because you asked. I'm doing this because she is innocent in all of this."  That was the last thing he said before he stepped out too.
He had barely made it to the outside terrace when he saw you practically stomping toward the woods. “Mother, give me patience," he muttered under his breath before leaping into the sky. “Where are you going?", he called out. But you didn’t stop. Your steps didn’t falter as you pushed past another branch. “To your fucking court," you hissed, taking your anger out on the poor bushes as you stepped over them.
“Are you sure it’s that way?”, Azriel called out, landing just a couple of feet behind you. You halted, turning left. “Save us both the trouble and let me winnow us there," he said, reaching for your hand, but you turned so fast, pulling a shining dagger from your belt and aiming it at Azriel’s throat. “If you touch me, I will skin you," you grunted angrily. Azriel lifted his hand, pushing his fingers beneath the blade. “You would have to aim a bit higher, princess; you wouldn’t hit the vital artery." He watched the way your jaw practically grinned your teeth to the nerve.
“Don’t worry, I can always aim for your balls," you snarled back, turning away. Azriel rubbed a hand over his face, letting you walk a few feet ahead. “So, the plan is to walk through Autumn, Winter, Dawn, and Day, and let’s not forget the under-the-mountain part," he pointed out. You stopped once more. Even with your back turned to him, Azriel could tell the way your chest was rising and falling rapidly.
Turn around; he practically begged in his head; don’t make me regret this even more. But just as he had concluded before, this was Mother’s way of making him pay for everything bad that he had done. Because you stepped forward, inching deeper into the forest. Azriel shook his head. For a moment, he considered letting you walk away, but he took to the skies instead.
You weren’t even sure if you were mad. Were you sad? Annoyed? Confused? It was all fine. Just last week, you were both swimming in the lake. You and your brother. Laughing. He had even pulled out his carving knife. It was fine. Lucien was going to come back, too. Angry tears rolled off your cheeks as you push back another branch, ducking under it. At least that winged bruit had chosen to leave you by. But they all do. A bitter laugh slipped past your lips at the thought of it. A burden from birth—that’s what your father told you day in and day out. Maybe if he had finished what he had started that night...
That thought snaps the same way as the branch beneath you. Your feet twist, making you yell slightly as the pain shoots up your leg. But that’s the least of your concerns, as your weight makes you topple over, hand-breaking the fall as the edge of the dome looms closer. Maybe fate has decided to give you a helping hand. But before you can blink, a strong hand wraps around your middle, pulling you up.
“So you actually can’t be left to your own devices," a deep voice mutters, and you are cursing Mother once more because she could have sent anyone else, but no, that winged male had to be the one. “No one asked for your interference," you grunt, trying to push out of his grip. “Your manners are shit for a princess," he says, and you can’t wait to put him in his place, but the moment you manage to wiggle out of his grip, putting all of your weight on your feet, shooting pain rips through you. You hiss, stumbling over. The spymaster grips your elbow, steadying you.
“What hurts?”, his voice is solid, but there’s no anger in it. "Nothing," you say through gritted teeth, thankful for the sunset that had already draped the forest in shadows, letting you hide your splotchy face. “Nothing?”, he asks again, “So, if I were to let go?”, “I said nothing.”You pull your hand away, turning back. You can hide a limp. You’ve hidden worse. Right? But you don’t get to take a single step back. Your ankle betrays you as a pained cry slips past your gritted teeth.
And in a heartbeat, he is there. His big palm once again splayed against your stomach as he steadied you against his chest. Your heartbeat jumps up, but you don’t even get to gasp when he turns you around, lowering you to the nearest fallen trunk. You watch him with a frown. But don’t dare to fight anymore. What’s the point anyway?
He kneels, his hands moving towards the hem of your skirt. You expect him to just lift it, but his hands halt as he tilts his head up. You can see that he stutters slightly at the sight of your puffy eyes. “Can I?”, he asks. You grit your teeth, “Don’t you own me now? You can do what you want." He frowns. True confession there. “I don’t own you. I am here to protect you. A bodyguard if you will," he says, and even if you want to call him out for lying, something tells you that he is not. “I don’t need protection," you say, crossing your arms over your chest. “Considering that you just nearly went flying over the edge," the spymaster gestures over his shoulder. You huff, lifting your left leg. Wincing from the movement alone.
He reaches for it. His hands… Your heart skips a beat at the scars all over them. You can’t see much, considering that he’s wearing long-sleeved leather, but his whole hand... “You sprained it; it’s already puffing up." His voice makes you jump slightly as you nod along. He glances at you. “I’m afraid your journey through the five courts will have to be cut short, princess." He tries not to show it, but the bastard is practically oozing satisfaction. “Don’t call me that," you say, pulling your leg out of his grasp, cursing under your breath. “Princess?”, he asks almost smugly. “I still have two hands, you fuck," you grunt, trying to stand up, but the spymaster works quicker. His arms snake over your legs and back, and you’re up in his arms in the blink of an eye. You cross your own arms over your chest, refusing to hold onto him. “A tree, a fuck. All very original insults," he says drily, “Try Azriel next time, though. We’re trying to be professional about it after all.”

Wooyoung had decided the one place she had to visit was Lotte World Tower, because of course they have to start out at the tallest place imaginable. It didn’t take them long to arrive at the tower, and as y/n looked upwards, she felt herself get a little woozy. Yunho, who had been keeping an eye on her the entire ride, stepped up behind her, his hands coming to land on her shoulders as he leaned down close to her.
“Are you sure you’re okay to do this? You can back out and none of us will be mad. I think you know this, but Seonghwa is afraid of heights too, so he and Mingi will be going somewhere else in the area while we spend time up at the top of the tower.” Yunho informed her, keeping his voice at a whisper while the others were occupied talking to each other.
“I’m okay. But if it’s too much, can I leave and come back down to the ground floor?” She asked the alpha behind her.
“Of course. If it gets to be too much for you, come to me and tap me twice and I’ll take you down right away, no questions asked.” He told her, squeezing her shoulders before pulling back and letting go of the smaller omega.
This was when the others, minus the duo that Yunho had mentioned, came back over to the two, asking if they were ready to head in. After quickly nodding, Hongjoong guided the seven inside, bypassing the line and heading straight for the elevator to the observation deck. Wooyoung immediately took his place beside her once they were all situated in the elevator, reaching out to grab her hand as the ride up to the top quickly went by. She was dragged out of the elevator right to the windows to look over the city, holding her breath for a moment as she looked out at Seoul, amazed at how far the city sprawled outwards.
“Why are you gripping my hand so hard?” Wooyoung asked, whining towards the end.
“I’m sorry, just a bit uncomfortable with so many people here, it’s a lot for me.” She told the older man, not fully lying, but not telling him the actual reason.
“Oh, baby omega,” Wooyoung cooed, pulling her in for a hug, “It’s okay. We’re here, you’ll be okay.” He comforted her, which helped slightly, but until she was back on the ground, she wouldn’t be back to being fully okay.
San wandered over to the two, smiling at seeing the two omegas hugging. The beta wrapped his arms around them, rocking them back and forth, which made y/n’s nerves become even further on edge. She could see in the corner of her eye that Yeosang and Hongjoong were all milling around one of the windows, seeming to be discussing something with serious faces. Yunho and Jongho were nowhere to be seen, at least not within her eyesight. Before she realized it, Wooyoung and San were pulling her over to the part of the deck that had the glass flooring. She tried to calm her breathing, though it wasn’t working as well as she would have hoped. The beta/omega duo were insistent on taking her over to stand on it so they could take pictures of her, and so she could take the “cool looking down at the ground” photos, or at least that’s what her brain supplied to her as what they said. Her head was elsewhere, trying to figure out what to do, and what would cause the least amount of a scene.
They stopped pulling her, and she looked down to see that she was on top of the glass flooring, and her instinct was to jump away, but Wooyoung held onto her arm which stopped her.
“We’re gonna take photos, stop being so impatient to go and see the rest of the building!” He said to her, a smile on his face.
“I’m good, I don’t need photos, Wooyoung.” She told the other omega, trying to get her arm free from his grip.
“Of course you need photos! It’s your first time here!” He told her.
She saw Yunho pop up from the corner of her eye, and start heading towards the trio. She knew she had to stand up for herself, and make her fears known, but she hadn’t wanted to disappoint Wooyoung as he was so excited to take her here. She took a deep breath, gathering her courage to tell Wooyoung.
“Wooyoung, I’m afraid of heights and the longer you keep me here on the glass, the more likely I am to have a panic attack or get sick or pass out, or all three. Please let me go.” She told her fellow omega, closing her eyes to avoid looking down as she normally would in this type of situation.
The result was immediate, Wooyoung’s arm dropping away from her own, and a set of arms pulling her from where she stood. She opened her eyes to see Jongho was the one who had pulled her away, before Yunho could get close.
“Are you okay?” The alpha asked her.
“I’m doing better now. I won’t be okay until I’m down on the ground again. Heights are not my thing, and glass flooring is definitely not my thing.” She told the alpha, taking a deep breath before stepping away to have some space, the youngest alpha allowing her that space, and San stopping Wooyoung from crowding her once again. The looks on their faces displaying how bad they felt for forcing her into a situation that she clearly feared, and that they were so hell-bent on making sure she experienced it, that they didn’t think to stop and ask if she wanted to do it at all.
“Why didn't you say that you didn’t like heights? I wouldn’t have brought you here, I would have taken you somewhere else? Did you not trust us enough? I’m sorry, y/n.” Wooyoung asked, apologizing in the end.
“I’m sorry I didn’t notice either, y/n. I never meant to cause you anxiety with my actions, and I’m sorry that I didn’t notice your anxiety and reluctance and instead was the cause of more anxiety for you.” San said, as he and Wooyoung bowed in apology to you.
“I didn’t want to ruin your good mood, Wooyoung. You looked so excited to take me here, and I figured I could deal with the anxiety until we were back down on ground level again. I’m not the biggest fan of heights, so these kinds of things are a bit scary to me, and glass floors cause me a lot of anxiety.” Y/n explained to the two.
Darling, you could have said something to us, we would have understood.” San said to her, his voice having just a hint of sadness in it at her words.
“Yeah! If you had said you couldn’t do this, I would have found somewhere else for us to visit, I would never want to force you to do something you’re not comfortable with just because it was somewhere I wanted to take you. So please, tell us no when we suggest things you don’t like?” Wooyoung followed up San’s words with a pleading look in his eyes that also spoke to the regret he felt for suggesting they come here.
“I promise I will speak up next time, okay? Today was just such a great day after all of the fighting earlier, I didn’t want to bring the mood down again by shooting your suggestion down.” Y/n said.
“I told her that if she needed to get out of here, all she had to do was come and tap me twice and I’d take her back down. She had an out, Wooyoung, if she felt this was all too much.” Yunho spoke up, reminding them all that he was here.
Wooyoung nodded at Yunho, seemingly feeling a little bit better knowing that one of the others knew about this and had a way to help y/n out of this situation should she have needed it. Jongho only pulled the smallest omega closer to him, feeling touchy and protective in a way that normally he wouldn’t, as the others usually were the ones to feel this way. She looked up at him and giggled, only adjusting herself so that she was a bit more comfortable, letting the youngest alpha hold onto her for as long as he felt he needed to.
A couple minutes later, the remaining two wandered over to the five, wondering what was going on. “What’s going on here?” Yeosang asked, tilting his head in curiosity.
“Wooyoung and San dragged y/n over to the flooring here only to almost make her have a panic attack. Because she’s afraid of heights, which the glass floor would only make worse.” Jongho said bluntly, knowing it would only result in consequences for the duo.
“Oh,” Hongjoong stayed quiet for a moment, “You two, in my room once we’re back home, yes?” The smile on his face sent chills down everyone’s spines, as they knew that smile on the pack alpha’s face meant nothing good.
This marked the end of their trip, as Hongjoong quickly ushered everyone back to the elevator to go back down to ground level, not wanting to cause anymore anxiety to his newest member. Seonghwa and Mingi met them outside of the tower, both carrying more than a few bags between the two of them. Both of them noticed Jongho’s closeness to the sole female member of the group and Seonghwa noted it to ask about later.
“Are we ready to go to the next place?” Mingi asked, looking at them.
“We’re ready to go. Yunho, it’s your place next, right?” Yeosang answered, looking at his fellow member.
The golden retriever of a man nodded, confirming that his chosen place was next. “I promise it’s not another tower, and technically this is Mingi’s favorite place too, but he picked another one so we had a bit of variety.” He told the youngest omega.
The journey seemed to speed by, even with the traffic on the way to wherever Yunho had decided on taking her. It very quickly came clear once the car came closer to Han River, dropping them off where directed to by the tallest member. Once all nine were out of the car, Yunho took the lead, directing them to an area set out for them, as the security members that had been guarding it for them left at the man’s command.
“You set this up? How did you get this done so quickly?” y/n asked Yunho, surprised at what he had arranged so quickly.
“I had some help from our security crew plus some other friends of mine, who were nice to set this all up for us,” Yunho explained, “You should dig in, before it gets cold.”
He directed everyone, but especially y/n, as the platter laid out was a lot of Korean fast food that he thought she might want to try. Some of it she had tried before, while some of it was completely new to her, but she didn’t hesitate to try at least a bite of everything. The most foreign thing for her might have been the corn on pizza, as it seems like such an odd thing to have on pizza, but after having a bite, she could see where it fit in with the other ingredients.
She enjoyed the time with the eight men outside of the company and the group’s own dorm, the atmosphere was much more relaxed and casual, and she let herself relax and enjoy this down time. Y/n knew she wouldn’t get much more of it from tomorrow onwards.
“Are you excited to get to do all of the ‘idol things’ we do?” San asked y/n, a smile on his face as he laid down on the grass next to her, having moved over from the main group.
“Yes, but also no,” she answered, “I’m excited, but I’ve seen how busy life can get as an idol, so I’m going to miss all of my freetime.”
San nodded, the beta knowing that she wasn’t wrong, Ateez never really stopped working, not for long anyways. They did take breaks when the members’ heats and ruts occurred, but other than that rest was almost nonexistent.
“You’re not wrong, but I think you’ll find the work to be enjoyable. Plus you still have to get introduced to Atiny, which will be fun. Oh, and they’ve been working on other things too!” The beta enthused, rambling on excitedly about the plans he knew were happening in the near future, as well as where she’d fit in with everything.
At the sound of footsteps behind them, San looked up as y/n turned around, finding that Yunho was the source.
“Yunho-yah, what’s up?” San asked the dancer.
“I’m here to steal y/nnie away from you for a bit.” Yunho replied, making the beta pout.
“But I was just getting some time with her,” San whined, making y/n giggle.
“I’m sure Yunho won’t keep me for long,” she told the man, before getting up to stand next to the tall grey-haired man.
“Fine,” San said, “but come back soon.”
Yunho led y/n away, towards a quieter part of the area that also happened to be more secluded as well. It was a bit of a walk, so they filled the time talking about funny stories from their childhood.
“-and then the gym teacher picked him up and dropped him in the trash can. All because he joked about it and then didn’t pay attention when Mr. Mercer was talking.” Y/n told Yunho, causing the older man to laugh.
“I don’t think I have any stories like that from my school days, but I have many stories about Mingi-yah.” He told y/n, chuckling to himself as he’s reminded of more than a few things Mingi would be embarrassed about if y/n was told about them.
They were engrossed in their own little world, chatting and giggling until y/n ran into a wall, knocking her backwards.
“Ah yes, a stupid omega who can’t watch where she’s going.” The wall, which was actually an alpha, sneered.
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going.” Y/n apologized to the rude alpha, disregarding the insult to not escalate the situation.
However, Yunho didn’t have the same thought. “You shouldn’t have been standing on the sidewalk, and she’s not stupid,” he said.
“I can stand wherever I want, and keep your fucking omega at home, where she belongs,” the alpha shot back at Yunho.
“Yunho, just let it go, it’s fine.” Y/n tried to convince the idol, not wanting to get him in trouble, or have the shithead alpha get any more violent.
“He’s insulting you, I won’t let that stand,” Yunho replied, before looking back up at the alpha in front of them.
A crowd had started to gather, making y/n feel unsettled, knowing that Yunho could get recognized soon if he hadn’t been already. And she didn’t yet have any of the other’s numbers, so she couldn’t reach out to them for help.
“...you really can’t control your omega well, huh? You really should just take her home and leave her in the kitchen. Or better yet, give her to me, and I can show you how a real alpha controls their omega. You obviously don’t like her that much, considering she has no mating bite on her neck.” The alpha continued, and the scent of burnt oranges coming from Yunho only grew stronger.
Y/n grabbed Yunho’s arm, trying to pull the alpha away from the confrontation. She didn’t want them to get into trouble, plus she wasn’t the person for confrontations with alphas like the one Yunho is about to fight. They never changed their minds, and fighting wouldn’t prove anything. She’s dealt with enough of them to know that they wanted to get a rise out of omegas and anyone they could, while truly believing that omegas were inferior to them.
Yunho tugged his arm out of her hold, moving in front of her and closer to the other alpha.
“Yu, please. It’s not worth it.” She pleaded with the man, who only shook his head.
“You should really listen to the dumb bunny, wouldn’t want to mess up your pretty face.”
That was the final straw for Yunho, and y/n could only watch in horror as the tall alpha practically launched himself at the other man, his arm pulled back ready to throw a punch.

Don't Sneak up on People with Swords
@im-totally-not-an-alien-2 made a prompt about Danny sneaking up on Jason Todd and @sky00asara made a comment in the tags about what would happen if Danny did that to Talia. So here is my version of that! Enjoy.
Talia al Ghul watched her beloved from afar. He was out, again patrolling his city for those he considered wrong doers. Her son was by his side. She scowled at how Damian’s fighting style had changed, softened in the company of her beloved. Despite her love for the man under the cowl, he had a tremendous ability to take even the most ruthless of killers and change them to spare the undeserving. He had even tried it with her.
She was hidden on the roof of an abandoned tower nearby. The tower had succumbed to fire and was now condemned until the city got around to destroying it properly. For now it made the perfect place for her to observe her beloved and her son work undisturbed.
“Excuse me?”
Talia whirled, drawing her blade as she spun. Her blade moved fast enough to almost cut the air itself yet the small shape ducked under her stroke and back-pedaled quickly to move out her range.
“Jeez! Why is everyone in this city so jumpy!”
The voice more than anything made her realize that the person who had somehow snuck close enough was an actual child. Their black hair and blue eyes made her wonder if this was another of her beloved’s adoptees. Except surely this boy was too young to catch Bruce’s eye?
“Well maybe you should not sneak up on people?” Talia hissed, her voice soft yet stern. To say nothing of how a child who couldn’t be older than five had snuck up on her at all.
“Well maybe you shouldn’t brood on the roof of my home!” The child snarked back, just like one of the Bat’s brood would, completely unafraid of the blade still in her hand. Talia raised an eyebrow at him then looked around at the burnt skeleton of the building they were standing on.
“This building is not fit for human occupation.”
“Neither was the last place I lived.” He said dismissively. “This place hasn’t even killed me yet, so it’s practically a paradise.”
She was tempted to take the child’s words as sarcasm, yet something in the way he spoke made her think he meant it more truthfully.
“You’ve died before?” Talia asked. She relaxed her hold on her blade, allowing it to rest at her side.
“Oh yeah, I die all the time.” He said, then he looked at her curiously tilting his head first one way, then another. “You’ve died too, huh?”
She nodded, now examining him closely, looking for the signs she would recognize. She could see the hint of a scar on the boy’s palm that might have caused a death.
“What is it with this town that so many people have died and come back?” The boy asked, apparently rhetorically as he didn’t let her answer. “First the stabby Robin, then the stabby Batgirl, then Batman, and even Red Hood. It’s like everyone I run into is contaminated.”
Talia’s eyes widened.
“You can sense those who have utilized the Lazarus Pits?” She would have to inform her father about this child. He could put the entire League of Assassins at risk. The child before her just shrugged.
“I have no idea what that is. Red Hood mentioned some kind of pit as well, but I’ve never seen anything like that. I just know y’all are contaminated with ectoplasm, though not enough to make a core.”
“What is this… ectoplasm?” Another name for the Lazarus Waters? Had there perhaps been a Pit outside of League control? In the midwest somewhere based on the boy’s accent.
“Oh it’s this stuff.” He held his hand out and Talia couldn’t help keep her expression of shock withdrawn despite all her training as his hand filled with the glowing green light of the Pits. He held the Pit Water in his hand then tossed the glowing orb to his other hand in a half juggle as if he weren’t carrying the League's greatest secret and weapon.
Nevermind telling her father about this child, he could never learn of him. If Ras had the power this child had under his control the world would never survive. There was only one option. She needed to train this child to wield this strength. With the stealth he displayed in sneaking up on her and his power over the Pits themselves he could make an assassin like the world had never seen. He could be the next Head of the Demon under her guidance. She knelt down to the boy’s level, slipping her sword back away as she did so.
“Tell me, young one. Are you living in this death trap of a building all by yourself?”
“Yeah, but don’t worry, I’ve got it taken care of. I know I’m little, but that just means people are less likely to notice me. I’m able to steal all the food I need from that big box store down the street.”
“Oh of that I have no doubt. My name is Talia al Ghul. What’s yours?”
“Hmm. I’m Danny.” The boy seemed hesitant to trust her, which to be perfectly honest was probably a very smart thing to do, but at least she had a name for this gift of Lazarus.
“Danny, how would you like to come live with me? You won’t have to steal any more, or worry about food ever again, and I could train you how to fight even better than the Bats.”
He narrowed his eyes at her, looking her over closely.
“Would I get a sword?”
“If a sword is what you want, then once you were trained in its use I would acquire one for you.”
Danny looked like he was about to nod, but then he froze, his head tilting to the side as if he was listening to something. His eyes widened and Talia tensed.
“Uh-oh. Fruit Loop incoming. I gotta go.”
Talia half turned as she heard the sound of one of her beloved’s grappling lines catching on the building’s edge. By the time she had turned back to face him, Danny had completely vanished. She hadn’t even heard him leave. She stood and scowled as her beloved landed on the rooftop next to her.
“Talia.” He grunted at her, glaring all the while.
“Beloved. Must you ruin every nice thing in my life?” Talia snarled back. The boy, Danny, had the gift of Lazarus at his beck and call and Batman had scared him off.
Bruce looked momentarily stunned at her fury, but quickly hid it behind his mask. However Talia couldn’t care less about her beloved right now. She just needed to lose him so she could return to find the boy. The boy who would change the world with his power.

cassie riding your thigh at a party ; mdni
walking into the living room of your house, you sit down on the huge white couch, keeping slight distance away from the other teenagers making out. you turn on your phone and check the time, realizing it’s midnight. it’s officially your birthday, yet it doesn’t feel like it. maybe it’s simply the fact that you’re getting older, or maybe it’s the fact that you’re sitting alone despite having almost the entire school crowding around your house, but a sense of dread fills you as you stare down at your phone.
maddy perez, your closest friend, insisted on throwing you a huge birthday party, despite your pleas for her to keep it a small and intimate celebration with some of your friends. now, she’s nowhere to be found, after she had stormed off when cassie showed up with nate jacobs, maddy’s ex boyfriend. it’s obvious to everyone but cassie that nate is still in love with maddy, considering just a few minutes you watched nate ditch the blonde to go and chase after his ex girlfriend.
a bitter feeling rises in your throat at thought of how your friend left you alone at a party you didn’t even want.
“hey.” a sweet but quiet voice, compared to the loud music, interrupts your spiral of emotions and causes you to look up from your phone.
“oh, cassie. hi.” you give her a tight smile, placing your phone beside you. if maddy was here, she’d be pissed that you’re even responding to the blonde girl. the three of you were an inseparable trio a while ago, until cassie went and fucked it all up over some asshole that was never good enough for her or maddy.
despite all of this, you try your best to remain civil. although, when you slowly drag your eyes up and down cassie, taking in how good she looks, a guilty part of you considers the fact that you’re responding to her for something else.
maddy and cassie were aware and supportive of the fact that you like girls, but only maddy knew that you had a bit of a crush on cassie. that’s why you and maddy bonded over the heartache of seeing nate and cassie roaming the school hallways.
“um, lexi helped me make cupcakes for you, since it’s your birthday. there’s a plate in the kitchen but i grabbed two, so do you want one?” cassie holds up two vanilla cupcakes with pink frosting in front of you.
“oh, that’s sweet. thank you.” you take a cupcake from her and carefully unwrap it, taking a bite of it. “delicious.” you awkwardly hum, wiping a bit of icing off of your lips and placing the rest of the cupcake on the coffee table in front of you.
she chews on her bottom lip, a nervous habit you’ve always noticed. “can i sit there?” she gestures to the small space between you and a horny couple.
“go ahead.” you nod.
with a small grin, she carefully wedges herself next to you while holding her own cupcake, although she’s pretty much sitting on your thigh due to the lack of space. “sorry.” she lets out a small laugh when she takes notice of the seating predicament.
you let out a shaky breath, “you’re good.”
“you know..” cassie starts, moving closer to you, now fully sitting on your thigh, causing your breathing to grow shallow. “i’ve always noticed the way you act around me.” she leans back into you, whispering in your ear, slightly rolling her hips. the action and her tight dress sliding up lets you feel how soaked her panties are. “the way you get shy, when you’re normally bold around maddy.”
“i can be bold around you, cass.” you turn your head to whisper back in her ear.
her eyes close and she tosses her head back, resting it on your shoulder as she snakes her hand down her body and reaches under her dress, sliding her thong to the side so her pussy is exposed.
“okay, come on. you have a boyfriend and people are around us.” you stop her before she can get any further.
“he doesn’t need to know.” she practically moans in your ear. “nobody’s paying attention to us, pretty much everyone here is dry humping each other.” she lets out a light laugh.
you debate what to do. part of you wants to let her continue, but another part reminds you how much shit you’ll be in with maddy and nate.
before you can choose, she’s calling you in like a siren as she pulls her dress down a bit, discreetly starting to grind her hips back and forth on the flesh of your thigh, leaving a trail of her juices as she rubs her clit on you. cassie can’t hold back her moans, letting out high pitched noises of pleasure. no one manages to notice over the music and their own dancing and hooking up, but you don’t want her to feel bad, so you take the cupcake she almost dropped out of her hands, and reach around her body, bringing it to her mouth. she looks confused for a second but realizes why you’re doing it. the blonde girl takes a huge bite out of it and chews it, her moans successfully muffled and letting her freely rock her hips, getting herself off on your thigh.

i get a boyfriend
part two of the casual series! (requests are in progress, i just churned this out because it is my baby)
warnings: making out and luke being cocky asf
wc: 1.2k
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the sun streamed through your eyelids in the morning. you shifted in bed, cozying up in rebellion. you really did not want to get up. you felt luke behind you, starting to move, and you closed your eyes. you knew he wouldn’t be able to wake you up just yet.
his head finds the crook of your neck, and his curls brush against your face. you’ve never felt so safe.
“jesus christ,” you’re rudely disturbed. you keep your eyes shut. maybe beckendorf will leave.
a knot grows in your stomach as luke grumbles from behind you. “fuck off, man. i was sleeping.”
“yeah. i noticed.”
“what are you doing here? this isn’t your cabin,” he said, sleep evident in his low voice.
“yeah, isn’t hers either. so are you two a thing now? you finally hook up last night? what’s the sitch here, because silena needs her update.”
with that, luke pulls himself up. “shut up, man.” he looks down at your ‘sleeping’ face, hoping you didn’t hear. “have some respect.”
you did hear, of course, and at first it did make you feel gross, but the ‘finally’ catches you, and you remember that luke wants you. he isn’t jack, who just wanted to fuck somebody, he’s been waiting, and yeah, the older kids at camp sometimes fuck. it’s relieving to realize that beckendorf doesn’t know about last night— he would never had said that if he did. besides, luke’s attempt at a defense, though hampered by his sleep-addled brain, is adorable.
“i’m just saying! don’t act like you haven’t thought about it. every person in this godforsaken camp can see it, ’cept maybe her.”
“can you seriously fuck off? i’ve got my girl, don’t make it my problem that you’re scared of yours.”
you laugh softly at that one. you don’t open your eyes, but you can feel luke freeze behind you. beckendorf doesn’t notice, but your gig is up anyway.
“your girl?” you mumble, a smile crossing your lips. beckendorf stifles a laugh.
“alright, i’m heading out! good luck with this one, man.” you open your eyes, and even as they’re adjusting to the light in the cabin, you swear you can see him wink. you’re not sure which one of you it’s to.
“die,” luke calls after him, throwing his head back on the pillow, but pulling you into his chest.
“hi.” you say, still facing away from him, and he tucks his head into your neck again.
“hi.” luke says.
you turn yourself over to look at his eyes. they’re such a deep brown. he tilts his head forward. you smile. you let his lips graze yours.
it’s exactly like it was when you were fourteen, and a million times more. he’s soft and gentle, pulling back between each kiss. your arms move around his neck, his wrap around your waist. you’ve never felt so secure in your life.
but you have to pull away. “i— i…” you start.
luke sits up. “i’m sorry,” he says. “i’m so sorry. fuck, that was so stupid of me. i’m so sorry, gods, what was i thinking?” he ran his hand through his hair. it was adorable. you reach out to his arm. (gods, he’s jacked). you wish you had allowed yourself to stare sooner. you’d been depriving yourself.
“it’s okay, luke. it was…it was really nice.” it seems like such a cheap thing to say, and by the look on his face, it wasn’t all that convincing. “i’m not… this is just a lot to process.”
“in what way?” he probes. you aren’t used to people asking questions. usually hannah just stares you down until the words come out of your mouth.
“i mean,” you try to word it in a way that won’t set him off. “it would be kind of shitty to jump into anything, right? after what happened with jack?”
luke gives a contemptuous look at the mention of his name. “no,” he scoffs. he’s still sitting up, looking down at you lying in his bed. you figure it might be a bad time to tell him how badly you want him to kiss you again.
“well, i don’t know. doesn’t it look like i’m just hopping around from guy to guy?”
“ok. first of all, i’m pretty sure there are only, like, four people who know about you and jack. second of all, at the risk of sounding like an absolute dick, aren’t you supposed to be in love with me or something?”
you gasp. “what the hell?”
he grins. “it’s just what i’ve heard. you know what the camp gossip mill is like.”
you groan, hiding your face in your hands. “this is so not fair.”
and he laughs, he really laughs. “how is it not fair?”
“you are such a dick. this is so embarrassing. i’m going to kill you.”
“you seem pretty content under those blankets for someone plotting a murder.” you look through your fingers. his smile is so, so, unbelievably cute. “how is this not fair?”
“because you totally know everything and i don’t know anything.”
“okay. what to you want to know?”
“shut up. die. i hope you drown today.”
“are you really going to make me say it, jack-jack?”
“i hate you.”
“i like you.” you go quiet. “i really, really like you. i think i’ve had a crush on you since we were fourteen. and i fucking love you. not like we already say everyday. like i think i’m actually fucking in love with you.”
he lays down beside you. you’re facing away from him, so he traces swirls on your shoulder.
you turn to face him, and for a second he has the decency to look nervous.
you narrow your eyes at him. “so how do you really know i’m not just in this for the sex?” and he bursts out laughing. and before you know it, you’re laughing with him. and he loves the way your eyelids almost close when you do.
“i wouldn’t blame you if you were,” he grins.
“well, who are you hooking up with these days? i’ll have to see if you have good reviews.”
“good luck with that, it might be difficult.”
“what, like you’ve never hooked up with an aphrodite girl after a bonfire.”
he shakes his head, and you’re honestly stunned. luke castellan, the most gorgeous boy on long island, is a virgin?
“i mean,” he starts. “it’s not like i haven’t had offers.”
“oh, shut up, you asshole,” you try to turn away from him, but he wraps his arms around you, and at his next words you freeze.
“but i was holding out hope that it would be with you.”
fuck. that was really hot.
you look up, into his eyes. “i hate you,” you roll your eyes.
“i love you,” he murmurs, his eyes on your lips.
this time when he kisses you, you’re never letting him go. you wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him atop you. it takes everything in you not to roll your hips into his, but you don’t stop yourself from reaching down his torso to find the hem of his shirt, pulling it over his head, and running your hands along his stomach. fuck, you think for the second time that morning. he’s jacked. he smiles into the kiss, and you know you’re stroking his ego right alongside his abs.
“so,” you say, biting your lip as his trace your jaw and neck. “what was that about ‘your girl’ earlier?”
you’re expecting a sly remark, a grin, or something. instead, he doesn’t hesitate—“be my girlfriend,” he almost moans. “please.”
and you don’t have it in you to leave him waiting.
“okay,” you whisper.

The Waynes' Nanny
Notes: So, this is my oopsy of adding another story to my roster, but oh well. Here's my other note: Just a little side note. To make this story work, I had to de-age the majority of the characters. So, Dick is 15, Cass 10, Jason 9, Tim 7, Duke 6, and Damian 4. Just FYI. Obvi The Nanny Inspired
Bruce Wayne x Reader, Batfamily, platonically, x reader
Summary: One day, after getting fired from your job by your ex, you somehow ended up in Wayne Manor as the family's new nanny. Working with six kids is tough enough, but the handsome, rich, and emotionally confused father, billionaire Bruce Wayne, who is just too charming makes it a bit more difficult as your feelings for him confuse you. Nonetheless, you love the job and the kids, but soon enough you realize that maybe you're falling in love with the boss, too.
Pilot Pt. 1
“You have to be kidding me, fired?” You said shocked, leaning over the counter.
Your boyfriend then quickly added, “And, I’m breaking up with you.”
The words could not come off your lips. Instead, you babbled for a good thirty seconds before just turning on your heel to leave. You stopped a couple of times to say something, but the shock was still settling in. It wasn’t until you were outside, watching people on the street that your senses came back. Turning around, you sucked in a breath and threw open the store door.
You pointed at your ex and loudly announced, “You have a small dick, and I’m collecting unemployment! So, hah!”
Not feeling the victory, but glad that there were more than a dozen people to continue the rumor of your boyfriend’s supposedly small penis, you left.
Luckily, you were quick to find another gig thanks to a family friend. Granted, you hated going door to door trying to sell insurance in Gotham, but it paid you just enough not to be out on the street. This week, however, you were assigned to the other end of the city—The rich part. And, it certainly did live up to your expectations. These people had yards and gardens, and the air even smelled better. If you could only find a rich man, you think you’d be very happy in such a place.
You looked down at the list of addresses your boss had given you before looking back up at the impressive sight of the house. With a sigh, you pressed the buzzer on the gate and went over your script.
“Hello, my name is…”
Before you could finish a British accent came through the buzzer. “Are you here for the nanny position?”
Looking around, you didn’t see a reason as to why you shouldn’t say yes. Absent-mindedly, you said, “I could be.”
“I’m sorry?”
“Oh, um, yes! Yes, I am.” It couldn’t hurt
Suddenly, another buzz and the sound was clicking of the gate unlocking. Cautiously, you pushed your way through and you headed up the path to the front door. It was a near quarter mile to get to the house and up a hill. By the time you got up to the front of the house, you were winded and slightly sweaty. At the top of the stairs stood an old man in a suit, looking down at you with indifference. Slowly, you climbed the stairs to him.
“You really gotta warn a girl if she’s gonna take a hike,” You huffed.
“Most people drive,” The old man said, and you recognized the accent from the buzzer.
You snickered at the old man, following him in, and you were amazed by just how wonderful the place was. As you entered, you did a turn, and you were amazed by just how big the house—No, mansion—was.
“Would you like me to present your resume to Mr. Wayne?” Asked the man.
Luckily, you were quick on your feet, “No, I’ll do it myself. Thank you.”
The man relented, giving you a disbelieving look, and went away. You sat down in one of the chairs in the foyer, quickly pulling out some papers to write some type of passable resume. As you were going for a pen, you realized quickly that you didn’t have one. Panicked, you looked around for one.
“Ugh,” A voice said, and a boy no older than seven or eight stumbled from a doorway. On him, fake blood and a knife. He cried, “I’m dying!” before collapsing onto the floor.
“You wouldn’t happen to have a pen, would you?” You asked, but the boy didn’t respond. Defeated, you decided quickly what you said as you saw the old man and a younger, much more handsome return.
“Tim,” The younger man said. “We’ve talked about this. You can’t scare the guests.”
The boy opened his eyes, “I'm studying people's reactions to gore and pain.”
The man rolled his eyes before turning his attention back to you. He held out his hand toward you to shake, you took it and instantly liked the way his grip was strong. “I’m Bruce Wayne—”
“Oh, yeah! I’ve seen you on TV,” You said excitedly. “I loved the black suit you wore for that ceremony in the park last month.”
Mr. Wayne seemed taken aback by the compliment, but thank you anyway. “Just follow me into the kitchen. We can talk more there.” As he started to lead you away, he turned to the boy still lying on the floor. “Tim, go clean up, please.”
“I will, but only because you said please!” The boy cried out.
Mr. Wayne shook his head and asked you not to mind him for now. Smiling, you replied that it was no big deal, kids were going to be kids either way. He seemed to agree with you on that and asked you more about yourself. You told him as much as you could think of, not willing or wanting to hold anything back.
When you finally sat at the kitchen table did you stop talking to let Mr. Wayne talk, but he seemed more pleased to listen. Though, you knew better than to rattle on more than necessary. Maybe, you thought, this was why so many women thought him to be such a charming guy.
“Can I see your resume, then?” He asked.
Laughing nervously, you said, “Oh, uh, well, you see, I lost it on my way over here.”
“Is that right?” Mr. Wayne said, sounding like he didn’t entirely believe you.
“Yes! Yes, it’s the damnedest thing,” You said. “I always seem to have these bouts of terrible luck.”
“Uh-huh,” He said.
You were going to answer when a voice called out, “Dad!”
Just then, two boys, one about fifteen and the other around ten, walked in. They seemed surprised to see you when they entered, glancing at their father before telling you hello. You got up, walking over to the boys and cupping their cheeks.
“My, look how handsome!” You looked over your shoulder at Mr. Wayne. “And those pretty blue eyes! They must get them from you.”
“We’re adopted,” The younger one said. “And I’m Jason.”
You grinned and bent over to look at the boy. “It’s nice to meet you, I’m…”
“You’re the new nanny?” The older boy said.
You started to answer, but Mr. Wayne cut you off. He told the boy, named Richard, that he could be nicer to you. Richard, or Dick as he called himself unfortunately, protested that Bruce was shuffling his responsibilities on some random lady from the inner city. Bruce was quick to dismiss him to his room, stating that they would speak later, and immediately apologized to you.
“A kid makes a smart-ass comment, what’re you gonna do?” You smiled.
“Right,” Bruce cleared his throat, not paying attention to what you were saying. “Well, those two were the oldest boys, I have one girl between them. Then, it’s Tim, Duke, and Damian. My youngest is four.”
“Trying to build a basketball team, Mr. Wayne?” You couldn’t help, but laugh at your joke. He didn’t seem as amused by it, so you quickly went quiet.
“Yes, well, thank you for coming, but I don’t think I’m in the mood to hire sales girls from off the street.”
You rolled your eyes, mumbling that you could do it and that you had plenty of experience in taking care of children as you babysat a lot when you were a teenager. Mr. Wayne didn’t seem to hear anything you said, though, nor the phone ringing off the hook.
“Alfred! Will you get that,” He called, seeming a bit stressed.
“Oh, you cannot be that rich not to answer your phone,” You said, getting up and picking up the phone from the receiver. Putting it to your ear, you answered, “Wayne residence.”
“Give me that,” Mr. Wayne said and snatched the phone from your hand. “Hello?”
He went back and forth with the person on the other line, talking about how he needed a nanny. Yet, he seemed to be getting nowhere. The entire time, you laid yourself in front of him as he tried to talk to the person on the other end to get him a nanny. After a minute or two, he put the receiver down and looked at you.
You grinned, knowing that you got the job. “You’re hired—On a trial basis!”
“Oh, thank you, Mr. Wayne!” You threw yourself at him, squeezing him tight. “You won’t regret it.”
“Right,” Bruce cleared his throat. “Well, I’ll have Alfred show you to your room—”
“I get to live here?” You asked excitedly.
Bruce almost smiled, but held it back. “Yes. If you like.”
“If I like,” You laughed like he was joking. “Of course. Oh, it’s going to be great.”
Mr. Wayne nodded, acting like he believed you, but didn’t know for sure. He wondered if he made the right choice not only for his children but for himself as well. Since he only knew you for half an hour, he found himself being intrigued by you.
Despite this, how he felt didn’t matter. All that did matter was if the children liked you and if you were competent enough to look after them. After all, it wasn’t like he was going to fall in love with you.
