he's not going to hurt the guy! not in any serious or permanently disfiguring way at least! But he is going to leave mean sticky notes on the square part of his spine that he can't reach, and stick salt in his 3AM Late Night Crime Scene Coffee, and kick the bottom of his heel while he's walking so he stumbles. genuinely i think more people should do side quests during msq so idk you can form a heart about the characters you're interacting with if you struggle with that and understand the land better so when impactful shit happens your illiterate ass can actually read and have empathy. theres no excuse for this.

if you can't handle storybuilding and character introductions from the expansion that feels like stormblood and shadowbringers had passionate gay sex that got one of them pregnant and birthed a beautiful daughter they both love and care about then idk what to tell you, maybe youre just lame and can't read. best of luck with that.

i know the joke back in march/april was that tommy was buck's sam and eddie was his nick but actually it would be So much more compelling if tommy was buck's richard and eddie was his chandler because the idea of having children and being a father has always existed on the periphery of buck's identity so if he had to reckon with a partner that didn't want kids it would actually be an interesting conflict that would be in line with buck's characterisation while also allowing the show to tie up all the loose ends about buck and fatherhood from s6 as well as the will and the chris of it all

So I'm listening to some old Flemeth dialogue while I eat breakfast and in hindsight of who Mythal is as a person, I think it's interesting that there's a consistent form of manipulation from her this whole time. Like as a female warden, she'll hit you with "does your woman's mind give you a different viewpoint? or do you you believe as these boys do?" like the implied expectation of maturity in comparison to the soldiers around her is, in itself, a leading question. The whole thing is already set up as a test, but a test with the hindsight of Mythal's nature adds an interesting layer to it. this thought isn't really going anywhere I just think it's Neat

Hey y'all! Slightly weird question, but you know I love making and giving themed gift sets: Do you have any recommendations for board books or picture books with a sunshine or lemonade kind of theme? The set so far is a pink and orange and yellow quilt, a plushie sun, and a pair of pink and yellow baby booties with lemon slices all over them. ffxiv garlemald discourse is so funny because people will go "ugh people just cant stand it when things aren't black and white" and then you look at how the empire are portrayed in stormblood and shadowbringers and its like hm. that seems like a pretty intense and accurate display of violent imperialism to me! Wow I wonder why people in this day and age may find it hard to feel sympathy for them or even hate them on principal. god its such a mystery.

the games like 50/50 to me on how it tackles these themes because I actually like the garlemald arc in EW, I think it has a lot of horrific and powerful scenes depicting how self destructive fascist propaganda and beliefs are, but I also think it doesn't go far enough on some fronts. the garleans' xenophobia is most notably and obstacle to getting them to accept the contingent's help, which is what they're there to do,

but there's never an admission of harm from any garleans on the uuuuuuuuh massive amount of war crimes the nations around them are still suffering from they're just kind of like "we misjudged you...but you actually wanted to help us all along" like yeah thats great now can we get you all some deprogramming because you keep talking about returning to your prime and glory days and I think we need to unpack some stuff you really SHOULDNT return to. im not even really talking about EW proper but the patches where things are a bit more chilled out and people are recovering.

It feels like they wanted to have their critique of imperialism and also have things end with the beauty of human connection and reaching out and these things just don't mesh well because hey a lot of your modern day audience is not gonna like having to treat people yelling xenophobic things at the cast and your character with kid gloves after you showed them hours and hours of the awful things these people's beliefs have done. especially in the present day hoo boy.
