We discussed the musicians that surprised us and we did not really tell you that some of those choose this as their career affirmations for so long they turned into a parody. Prince, for instance, kept being himself even during the 90's, when he missed the mark more often than not. Mind you, every successful musician eventually ends up in his place and most of them still produce some great works in that phase, including Prince. A great case of that might be Diamonds and Pearls, his debut with New Power Generation, which could also be seen as a shock, since he decided to play with the rules the 90's presented and you know what? I regret he didn't follow them much, because he did make some great pieces, such as the song in the link, which remains one of my personal favourites of his.
