peter: peter's main design philosphy is being as generic as possible. he's the jon arbuckle of phones, being a model 500, and is overall just a very visually plain guy. as such, he's just a solid black shorthair- with rusting to get that red across, and blue eyes to match his shirt. "oakpelt" is also intended to be a generic as fuck name. his design is overall squareish, like the view we get of his phone from his sprites.

joe: joe just kinda feels like a scraggly street cat to me. all black, to match his head and suit, with ears that point inwards and significant cheek fluff to mimic the shapes of his phone. "sootsky" refers both to his coloration, like soot, and to the smoggy area that we meet him ingame.

omair: since dialclan takes place in the city (the clan lives in alleyways behind gabby's shop), i can get away with a lot of kittypets. omair's blue in the same way that jadefeather/randy is blue and mulberrycrown/mingus and crownstar/callum are purple- styilization, he's not literally blue, in real life would be grey. he's got round, sloping shapes like his head, and a heart-shaped marking on his chest to mirror that one adorable heart-hand sprite.

fabron: scraggly as FUUUUUCK. a square head to mimic his monitor, with a square marking on his face to look like a screen. he has very tall ears, one of which is mostly ripped off, to be evocative of his antenna. yellow eyes like the markings on the right side of his head, and his tabby markings make a little mustache. so he looks french. for his name- "-sight" is derived from the whole deal where he's got an eye on his screen from the little billy thing, and "stream" is mostly in reference to his head being a monitor and him being in a room full of monitors, stream like video.

bunny: pretty straightforward. big tomcat jowls to resemble the bell mechanism on his head, prominent claws to match his manicure. big chest fluff to resemble his popped collar, and tall, round ears like a bunny. "bunnyfall" is probably an obvious name- bunny because bunny, and fall because madame mediocre falled on him.

abel: tuxedo is pretty obvious for him with the coloring. he's purple-tinted like most of the mingling. tried to make him visibly aged with wrinkles and greying- sometimes i forget that hcing him as like, 60-70 isn't much of a Thing outside our friend circle, but yanno. tall and lanky like his candlestick phone. "applegaze" is a two-part pun- "apple" sounds like "abel", but mostly it's just referring to his apple watch (see also, the marking on his front leg), which is a particularly important part of his design to me because of an inside joke.

god: main design philosophy: you gotta kinda squint at him and go "wait, is that a cat or a dog?" he's just hanging out. i don't think he has a proper name, much like our pal hound/hobo/god/etc ingame.

i got more cats motherfucker. biteclaw and scratchfang's names were by computercreature and design ideas by billymayslesbian . also just general shoutout to those two + bandtrees for concepts and warriors lore and everything for cat au yayaayayyy

updated design for manynipple/dialclan gingi :] main sources of inspiration were pangur and pickles the cats, but most of all: friend tor's little rat dog amy. also, now that i've designed crown, have integrated a couple of his features here so there's a resemblance.
