Ok so last post on this matter and then I'll hopefully shut up till the match tomorrow. It was inevitable, we all somewhere knew that Dhoni will step down as captain but let's be honest we all were in denial. It just seems so unreal, MS not being the skipper? Especially for CSK? Crazy. He also did it in the most Mahi-est way ever like he always does, quietly letting the CSK and IPL handle announce it, a literal day before the season begins and without any fuss or theatrics but yeah it won't be the same anymore. Not seeing him walking down at toss time or anticipating his post match with Harsha (that's what I'll miss the most ngl 🙈), it will be hard to digest. It's the end of era, the Dhoni-Rohit-Kohli era which was basically our childhood, it feels like yesterday when the holy trinity were captaining their respective teams and now no one is the captain anymore. But MSD will always be CSK's leader, he'll always be our Captain, our Thala and there's quite no one who'll be able to live upto his reputation and legacy. It is quiet understandable why he was so emotional during the finals last year, why he showed so much emotion when he is usually stoic because knowing him he already would've known that it was his last season as captain. His career has been a whole circle, he started as a long haired wicketkeeper-batsman and he'll end his career in the same way, his first trophy as a captain was a T20 cup and his last was also the same, but it would be all the things he did in between that'll define him, that'll be his legacy. And lastly huge congratulations to Ruturaj, we all knew that he will be our next captain and he'll also get the opportunity to work as a captain under MS which is a lot in itself. He has huge shoes to fill and it won't be easy in any possible way but we as CSK fans stand behind you Rutu, best of luck for the journey ahead 💛
#i had lot's of feelings and opinions on this matter#especially since they announced this A LITERAL DAY BEFORE THE FIRST MATCH#but well that's ms#cricket#somi.exe#csk#ms dhoni

India's T20 World Cup Triumph 2024
"Dhoni finishes off in style, It's India who win the World Cup." These lines said by Ravi Shastri had gone old with respect to India's World Cup Trophy drought. The most dominating team in bilateral series could not win an ICC Trophy and this was the biggest disappointment for ICT fans. After losing the 2023 world cup final, the first thought which came into my mind was that most probably 2024 t20 wc would be the last world cup Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will play together. So, this was their only chance for a world cup glory and they did not gave us a feeling of dismay, sadness and disappointment but an year full of cherishing memories, joy and happiness
India won the T20 World Cup 2024 happening in the USA and West Indies. They became the only team to win a world cup staying unbeaten. Their journey to the final was a happening one from the high pressure game against or the game against Australia. Especially, the game against Pakistan was a sheer representation of the evolution of Indian team's pace battery in the last decade. From 98 percentage of winning the match with Pakistan our pace battery broke their dreams of winning a game against India as they took the game from them in the last 10 overs. From the first game to the last one, India never looked a under confident or worn out team as they dominated everybody they faced badly. One such win was against Australia in the Super Eight which was personal for every Indian citizen ( If you know what I am talking about). Rohit's knock in that game was the indication of the frustration he had in himself after every knockout loss in every world cup in the last 5-6 years with more respect to 19th November. Then comes the Semifinal against England and that transition from 10 wicket win to 10 wickets out was outstanding. The game was one sided as soon as England completed their powerplay during the batting stint. Every cricket in the team was hungry of that silverware. So, they never looked back to the losses they had been facing but focused on their race to the unmatched legacy of winning a World Cup Trophy. The final was the best which could happen in an ICC tournament. It was not a cricket match a display of every emotion one can imagine in a game of cricket. India set a target of 177 and defend for India seemed easy until Klaseen smashed 24 runs in the 15th over and his team needed just 30 of 30 balls. India's pace attack pulled off a blinder from that stage by first Bumrah giving an economical over and then Hardik took the wicket of Klaseen to shift the momentum of the game on his side. The hidden hero was Arshdeep Singh who also pulled of two brilliant overs at the right - one in the middle and the other in the death. Last over consisted of South Africa requiring 16 runs and Hardik had to defend them. The first ball was a full toss indicating the pressure Hardik had with respect to his last 6 months. Miller swung his bat so hard but could not get the middle and it was the sticker that touched his bat but it was enough to go to the boundary but not above it as Suryakumar Yadav caught the ball and fancied India's chances to get the silverware.
Virat Kohli was in tears and Rohit Sharma lied down to celebrate their undermining hard work in the last decade and the last time in this format. The pair decided to announce their retirement from T20I's together after getting their hands on the silverware. Looking back to their world cup triumph I see a roller coaster ride filled with emotions of joy, happiness and satisfaction. The trophy weighing 12kg which they lifted had made 1.3 billion people happy back home which they expressed through lighting firecrackers and doing individual parades. India became the first cricket team to win a T20I world cup unbeaten displaying their want to get hands on the trophy badly and they gave everything for it. We also gave everything for it and got the result back paying the debt of our worshipping to the team from the last 17 freaking years.
Ravi Shastri's lines were replaced by the ones - Long on, Long On and what a catch, Suryakumar takes it and Miller's gone !!!!!!!!

The Butterfly Effect
'Does the flap of a butterfly's wings in Brazil set off a tornado in Texas?' The infamous question posed by Mathematician Edward Lorenz tried answering what the Butterfly Effect is. While the world still contemplates the impact of small events in one system on the consequences it can have on another, let me take you on a journey of what I believe was my life's butterfly effect.
It was the night of the 2nd of April 2011, the night of the ICC world cup final. With millions of eyes glued to the television screens, the six-year-old me was busy in his world. Completely unaware of the context of this particular match, he tried all the possible ways to convince his grandpa to change the channel to his favourite cartoon. With all efforts leading to no result, the last resort was to sit silently and observe. Little did he know of what was to follow.
As I continued watching the last few moments of the match with utmost disinterest, something unusual happened. As M.S. Dhoni launched that winning shot into the night sky, the bubble of silence burst. The noise of people shouting at the top of their voices and the sound of crackers settled in the atmosphere. The whole vibe around me turned festive. With my mind in a complete state of confusion, another incident followed. The camera panned to Dhoni's face and then his 'twirl of the bat' celebratory action. All of it played in slow-motion. That moment still stays fresh in my memory. The emotion in his eyes and the attractiveness of the simple celebration had caught all the attention of a six-year-old. I glued myself to the television screen, curious to see what would unfold next.
Moments later, I heard this line, "He (Sachin) has carried the burden of the nation for 21 years; it's time we carry him on our shoulders." Said by a 23-year-old Virat; It gave me a hint that cricket was much more than what went on the pitch. I took my eyes away from the television and stepped onto my balcony. To my surprise, the streets were flooded. Flooded with people. At that time of the night, usually, it was silent enough to easily hear even a whisper; but that night was different. It looked as if the world had come to a standstill. All because of a single incident. I went back that day to sleep with a question. 'What is it in sports that people are so strongly affected by?' 'What is it in Sports that unites so many people?' What is it in Sports that evokes such strong emotions?' And that question kickstarted a journey, a journey of exploration.
Over the years, I spent hours and hours watching and observing sports of different kinds, with my primary interest area being cricket. Around age 11, I took to playing badminton. The training sessions, the effort, the discipline, and the competitions told that what's seen on the field is just a miniature reflection of what goes beyond it. It gave me the opportunity of looking at sports from another lens.
The Off the Pitch stories are a lifetime treasure for me. They have become a source of learning. They have helped me understand the joys of victories and the sorrows of losses. Uncovering behind-the-scenes narratives has revealed how powerful emotions are. Going off the pitch made me think beyond the usual and added perspectives to my thinking.
And all of this started because of that visual captured in the eyes of a six-year-old. What if that day did not turn out the way it did? Well, that's the Butterfly Effect for me!

IPL: Ravindra Jadeja Openly Reveals CSK Issues As He Takes Subtle Jibe At Fans Behaviour
Ravindra Jadeja has posted another cryptic remark on Twitter. The fans are quizzed after what Jadeja posted on Social Media after CSK vs GT IPL 2023 Qualifier 1.
While MS Dhoni is responsible for the outright dominance of Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League, the consistency showcased by the franchise stalwarts over the years is also another major reason. And when it comes to consistency, then only a few could compete with the utility and balance that Ravindra Jadeja has rendered to the team over the years. Jadeja is a prominent member of the CSK squad, however, off late Jaddu has been posting some cryptic messages on social media making fans speculate whether there is a tiff brewed between CSK and Jadeja.
Following last week's "Karma will get back at you.." Ravindra Jadeja has posted another cryptic message on social media, leaving the fans quizzed regarding who is these posts directed at. Jadeja, who took away the Most Valuable Asset award from the CSK vs GT Qualifier 1 used the award to transmit a statement that he believes some fans are sleeping on. Jadeja won the award after playing vital cameo innings of 22 runs, with the help of which CSK posted 172 on the board. CSK emerged victorious by 15 runs and via the victory reached the final of the IPL 2023. Chennai Super Kings will await the winner of Qualifier 2, where Gujarat Titans will play the winner of the MI vs GT eliminator.
Ravindra Jadeja posts cryptic message on social media yet again
Some fans think Ravindra Jedaja is not happy in the Chennai Super Kings camp, whereas some think there is a tiff with MS Dhoni, however, nothing concrete can be stated as the player has been posting cryptic tweets off late. Jadeja wrote, "Upstox knows but....some fans don't". Here's the latest post by the CSK all-rounder.
Earlier, Jadeja Tweeted the following. The post also garnered attention on social media. and now another addition has caused further worry. Here's the post.
“When I bat at 7, the crowd is disappointed and chant for Mahi bhai. Imagine if I bat higher; they will just wait for me to get out,” Jadeja was quoted as saying in the post-match presentation ceremony after the match against Delhi Capitals. So, while Ravindra Jadeja seems irked with something/someone, what could it be is anybody's guess. And these posts only make the mystery deepen. What do you think is the case, is something serious brewing in the CSK camp?

[ad_1] Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir after series loss at the SCG (PC: Debasis Sen) When the wheels come off for great teams, they unravel quickly and spectacularly. It happened to Australia under Ricky Ponting, after the legends – Shane Warne, Glenn McGrath, Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist – retired en masse. It happened to Alastair Cook’s England, who won an Ashes Down Under and a Test series in India. Indian cricket had been there before, in 2011-12, on the heels of back-to-back whitewashes in England and Australia. The current streak offers a throwback. Dressing-room discord was an issue for the Indian team in Australia in 2011-12 also, with some players – Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir in particular – singing from a different hymn sheet and having issues with MS Dhoni. The latter was on the verge of losing his Test captaincy after the series, only to be saved by then BCCI president N Srinivasan. But a squad overhaul happened. Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman hung up their boots. Sachin Tendulkar would call time on his career a couple of seasons later. Sehwag would be dropped and eventually Gambhir, too, would lose his place in the team. India’s Test revival actually began in earnest when Dhoni retired mid-series in Australia in 2014-15 and Virat Kohli took over. India were ranked seventh at the time. The Kohli-and-Ravi Shastri duo would take them to the top of the tree. India became the best Test team in the world under their charge, winning matches in South Africa and England, and successive series in Australia. Gambhir is now India’s head coach and after a home series whitewash against New Zealand followed by a 3-1 defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the time has come for a rejig. A new cycle will begin from June, with a five-Test series in England, and India need to start afresh. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Rohit Sharma having a discussion with Jasprit Bumrah and Gautam Gambhir (Photo: Debasis Sen) It is learnt that some high-profile departures are on the cards, as the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee and the BCCI look ahead. Ravichandran Ashwin announced his shock retirement after the Brisbane Test. According to sources, his ‘partner in crime’ for many years, Ravindra Jadeja, is on his way out as well. Moving forward, Axar Patel is going to be the team’s premier spin-bowling all-rounder. Mohammed Shami missed the Test series in Australia, for he couldn’t make a full recovery. The 34-year-old fast bowler is likely to return for the Champions Trophy, but there’s a big question mark over his red-ball future. Bigger questions involving the galacticos, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, have to be answered. There’s a school of thought that Rohit, who stood himself down in Sydney, has already played his last Test, a belligerent TV interview, rubbishing retirement rumours, notwithstanding. “I don’t see Rohit going to England,” Gilchrist said on the Club Prairie Fire podcast. In fact, the legendary former Australia wicketkeeper-batsman even suggested that the upcoming Champions Trophy could be Rohit’s last as far as international cricket is concerned. “I think he will probably have a crack at the Champions Trophy and that might be (it). That might see him out.” Rohit Sharma at the SCG (PC: Debasis Sen) According to a BCCI insider, apart from the next Test cycle, the 2027 World Cup, too, is firmly on the head coach’s mind, and a new-look side would be given enough time to bed in. Phasing out is going to be the order of the day. What about Kohli? He is Indian cricket’s biggest brand. Also, notwithstanding his elongated form slump, he is the only bonafide batting great in the current Test team. Some reports suggest that the 36-year-old wants the England series in the summer to be his swansong. But Shastri believes that Kohli still has a role to play, with the Indian team heading towards transition. “So, I think the contributing factor to this team is transition and the youngsters coming through the ranks,” the former India head coach told ICC Review.
“There are a lot of guys (young players) there who can benefit from the experience of a player of Virat Kohli’s calibre.” Agarkar and Gambhir will have to make some tricky calls, as Indian cricket enters a new phase. A Shared Passion Across Borders
What truly sets the IPL apart is its ability to transcend geographical and cultural boundaries. It unites people from all walks of life under the common banner of cricket. Fans from different parts of the country, and indeed the world, come together to cheer for their teams, celebrate victories, and share the heartbreak of losses. The IPL has become an annual festival that people eagerly await, a time when cricket becomes a celebration of life itself.
As the IPL continues to evolve, it remains a testament to the power of sports to bring people together. It’s more than just a sports or esports league—it’s a celebration of culture, passion, and the universal love for the game.
In Conclusion

Do you think the BCCI should ask Rohit to retire gracefully (as in not sack/drop him) at the end of this the WTC cycle? in any other situation this kind of a series loss would have called for sacking of the captain and coach.
Is Bumrah ready to captain ICT full term? That includes him staying fit for almost all matches of a series.
And I agree with you statements on Gambhir. Now he's going to realise how hard it is to coach a cricket team. Every time that mf opened his mouth it was to spew nonsense about Dhoni, Kohli, Shastri, etc. Karma is just coming back for that man.
Thank you for the ask!!! Already apologizing because I have a lot to say on this matter and this will get very looonggg, you've been warned.
See I believe that ICT will undergo a transitional phase very soon. The seniors will hang up their boots soon after the finals (if we reach there) or in the midst of the next cycle cz I definitely don't think most of them will play another full cycle. As much I hate to see them go, it's kind of inevitable though about Rohit (and by extension Kohli) retiring, I think it's still too early to make statements like this before BGT because that will be their last chance to step up otherwise I think some harsh calls need to be made. I desperately hope that they get their form back because Jaddu and Ash are doing well tbh, they won't be dropped or asked to retire because of their performance.
And I also agree that Dhoni or Kohli would have been publicly slandered after this kind of loss but Rohit did come forward and took responsibility (atleast after the 3rd test) although the interviewers should've been sterner rather than asking about the positives and feelings (I remember clips of Atherton properly grilling MS in 2011 after 3-0 loss in England). But we also have to keep in mind that a huge series is coming up and we can't afford captaincy changes now considering Rohit is actually a good captain in most situations. Though I do think that a transition should be placed into effect with Bumrah playing a bigger role in leadership and daresay even captaining dead rubber matches. His availability will be an issue taking in point that he's India's main bowler in all formats but his fitness won't cause problems imo if he doesn't play pointless bilaterals.
Lastly on Gambhir, what do I even say? I grudgingly respect him as a player but his constant credit narrative and baseless statements do bother me a lot. I don't know about limited overs but his position as a coach in red ball cricket should be reviewed and, same as the seniors of the team, BGT should be the stage for him to perform. His performance (mind you as a mentor, Chandrakant Pandit was the actual coach who literally built the side) in IPL got him the position but he will have to prove himself.
I may be criticizing them right now but I'll definitely be the happiest if they perform well (yes even GG) and chahe jitna bhi gussa karlu at the end of the day sabse ladkar inhi ko support karungi. So to all the people sending me asks calling players names and all, pls stop. Even if they're going through a bad patch, they're still national players who have done more for India than all of you combined. Learn the difference between criticism and hate.
#this was a lot but yeah did get everything off my chest#I have lots of opinions about cricket if you haven't guessed lol#desiblr#ind vs nz#somi.exe#cricket#asks <3

Why Most Players Lose in IPL 2025 Fantasy Cricket And How to Avoid It.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the most popular and high-stakes cricket tournaments in the world, and the IPL 2025 season is expected to be no different. Fantasy cricket has gained massive popularity, with thousands of players participating in IPL fantasy leagues every year. While some players thrive and rake in rewards, the majority end up losing. Why do so many fantasy cricket players lose, and what can you do to avoid making the same mistakes in IPL 2025?
In this article, we will explore the common mistakes fantasy cricket players make during the IPL 2025 season and offer actionable tips on how to optimize your strategy to increase your chances of winning.
Common Mistakes Fantasy Cricket Players Make in IPL 2025
1. Poor Team Selection
Team selection is the foundation of a successful fantasy cricket strategy. However, many players make the mistake of relying on emotional choices, such as picking players based on their popularity or past performances, rather than current form and match conditions.
Mistake to Avoid: Picking players based solely on their name or reputation.
Solution: Your team should be made up of players who are in form, irrespective of their past reputation. Analyze recent performances and conditions. A player who’s been scoring consistently, even if they aren't a household name, may be a better pick than a big star who’s out of form. Ensure your team has a good mix of players from both the batting and bowling departments, and don’t be afraid to take a chance on lesser-known players if they’re in good form.
2. Over-Reliance on Popular Players
It's common to see fantasy teams dominated by the most popular players—those who are in the limelight, like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, or MS Dhoni. While these players are undoubtedly talented, over-relying on them can hurt your chances of winning, especially if they don't perform on a given day.
Mistake to Avoid: Stacking your team with too many star players.
Solution: Balance your team by mixing star players with rising underdogs. Fantasy cricket rewards players who can predict surprise performances and capitalize on them. While it's tempting to load up on big names, it’s crucial to ensure you're not neglecting those players who might fly under the radar but perform well given the right match conditions.
3. Lack of Research
Many fantasy cricket players fail to do adequate research before making their selections. Fantasy cricket isn't a game of chance; it requires detailed analysis of match conditions, player form, head-to-head statistics, pitch reports, and weather forecasts.
Mistake to Avoid: Making last-minute decisions without proper research.
Solution: Always conduct thorough research before creating your fantasy team. Pay attention to factors like:
Match conditions: Some players perform better in certain weather conditions or on specific types of pitches.
Team combinations: Check which players have been playing consistently in the playing XI.
Player form: Look at a player's current form over the last few matches rather than their historical performance in past IPL seasons.
Head-to-head stats: Some players perform better against certain teams, so make sure you’re aware of these statistics before finalizing your picks.
Use online resources such as expert blogs, team line-up updates, and player analysis websites to stay updated.
4. Ignoring Player Form
Another common mistake is ignoring player form. Just because a player has been great in previous IPL seasons doesn't guarantee they'll perform well in IPL 2025. Player form is crucial, and failing to consider this can cost you a lot of points.
Mistake to Avoid: Ignoring player form and picking players based on past reputation.
Solution: Focus on players who are in peak form leading into the tournament. Check their recent performances in domestic and international cricket. Players with consistent form are more likely to score well in fantasy leagues. Keep an eye on player injuries and recoveries as well, as fitness plays a significant role in performance.
5. Not Analyzing Player Matchups
Player matchups play a critical role in fantasy cricket. Some players perform better against specific bowlers or batters. Failing to consider this can lead to poor team selections.
Mistake to Avoid: Neglecting head-to-head matchups between players and teams.
Solution: Research player matchups. A batsman with a strong record against a certain bowler or a bowler who has a good history against certain batsmen should be prioritized. Matchups can often give you an edge, especially if you’re willing to take a calculated risk.
6. Ignoring the Captain and Vice-Captain Choices
Selecting the right captain and vice-captain can make or break your fantasy team. These choices amplify your points, so it’s essential to get them right.
Mistake to Avoid: Choosing a captain and vice-captain based on popularity rather than performance potential.
Solution: Your captain and vice-captain should ideally be players who are in great form and are likely to play a pivotal role in the match. Select players who are in the top-performing positions—such as the best all-rounder or top-order batsman, who have the potential to accumulate a lot of points through runs, wickets, or catches.
Strategies and Tips for Optimizing Your Fantasy Cricket Strategy
1. Focus on Player Form
Player form is a key component of fantasy cricket. You must track how players are performing in the lead-up to the IPL 2025 season. Utilize social media platforms, official team announcements, and cricket news outlets to stay updated on player injuries, recoveries, and their recent performances in other competitions.
2. Balance Star Players and Underdogs
While it’s tempting to select big names, underdog players can often surprise with stellar performances. A balance between well-known stars and lesser-known yet in-form players can differentiate your team from others and increase your chances of winning.
3. Research Match Conditions
Different pitch conditions and weather forecasts can heavily influence player performance. For instance, some players are great in dry conditions, while others perform better in humid or overcast conditions. Always research the match venue, pitch report, and weather forecast before making your final team selections.
4. Diversify Your Picks
If you pick only players from one or two teams, you might be left high and dry if those teams don’t perform well. Diversify your picks across multiple teams, giving yourself more chances to score points.
5. Follow Expert Advice
Fantasy cricket experts often have access to inside information that casual players might miss. Following experts on social media, reading fantasy cricket blogs, and watching analysis videos can give you insights into upcoming matches, team strategies, and players to watch out for.
6. Stay Updated
In the fast-paced world of fantasy cricket, staying updated is crucial. Ensure you’re aware of any last-minute team changes, injuries, or other factors that could impact your team’s performance.
Conclusion
In IPL 2025 fantasy cricket, it's essential to avoid common mistakes like poor team selection, over-reliance on popular players, lack of research, and ignoring player form. By focusing on player form, balancing star players with underdogs, analyzing match conditions, and following expert advice, you can significantly improve your chances of winning.
As you refine your strategy, it's also important to remember the role of gaming platforms like Gali Disawar Mix, which connects fantasy cricket players with a broader gaming and betting ecosystem. Gali Disawar Mix offers a unique space for fantasy players to explore various gaming and betting options, providing opportunities for seasoned and new players alike to enhance their gameplay experience and overall success.
With the right strategies, IPL 2025 fantasy cricket can be an exciting and rewarding experience. Best of luck in building your winning team!
