hello dhmis nation i miss you every day

i actually very much miss the 2022 fandom and how alive everything was. people from all over the internet were happy to see dhmis comeback and while it didnt last for them like it did for me (or the two of you reading this lmao) it was such a thrill seeing the hype. esp bcuz i joined this fandom when the tv show came out and that community drove me to stay and grow the huge hyperfix i did! sometimes i genuinely tear up a little remembering it was YEARS ago now…

so many artists came and went. its pretty lonely now honestly and i feel im talking to no one when it used to be hundreds discussing with me, theorizing or debating all the time! as a matter of fact, id never had the guts to make an account like this with my discussions on my hyperfixes until the dhmis fandom supported me! now the only ppl left are babies on tiktok who believe AUs to be canon and take heavily debatable youtube theories as truth (i hold no malice towards them but theyre impossible to seriously talk to abt the series with </3)

this series and fandom was with me through the toughest times in my entire life. i came here as an escape and i used my little analysis posts and discussions to distract myself from the world. im doing better now definitely, but i never grew out of this place, and i miss it dearly every day.

i have aus and things id love to discuss but theres hardly anyone out there to see it anymore, so i keep it to myself more and more.

that being said, im never leaving here, and im excited for the day we finally see some news and everyone floods life back into the series like back then. ill wait patiently for that day to arrive and even when that brief period ends again ill still be here. i adore this series and the wonderful creatives it inspires forever. theres no media dearer to my heart.

theres this illusion dhmis has where ppl think its popular bcuz everyone saw it back in the day but truly its underfunded in current times and mostly dead in the times its dormant ive noticed. ppl just dont realize it bcuz they forget. but i know im not completely alone here and that does give me hope!!!

okay uhhh.. i gotta admt I've never actually seen Don't Hug Me I'm Scared. I know it was poplar a lot (back in the day) but i never got around to watching it. to be fair I haven't seen a lot of media that got popular over the years. i used to - well still sometimes but i'm working on it- not watch something that everyone else gets into because i just didn't want to follow the crowd. i was really more into the amazing world of gumball back in the day and i know that the creator of the show also collabed with the creator of gumball, but that's honestly all i really know of dhmis.

CHARA. my child. yeah uh they were my favorite and honestly i forgot a lot about them and their lore (i'm blanking out on my 2015-2019 era), but it was honestly so sad them and asriel. and as much as i related to them as a kid. now as a adult, i realized how much heartache that would have gone for their mother, toriel.

it gives me a lot of respect for her and she would be a great person if she were real (in my heart she is). i think of her from time to time as a sort of fictional guide to my inner chara.

I'm bored, so I'm gonna drop a rough timeline of events for my dhmis au so when I make art or something, I can correspond it to the timeline

The Past- Everything that takes place before the main events such as childhood, school life, home life, etc. This also includes important moments that'll be referred to during character development moments

The Gap- A time between The Past and Roy's Takeover that no one can seem to remember

Roy's Takeover- The events in the YouTube series and the Teachers starting to gain sentience after The Gap

Clayhill- Roy's last project where all his previous projects and Lesley's projects start to overlap and interact

Rebellion- The ending of Clayhill(everyone dies at least once, but that takes a lot of explaining 😀)

Recovery- Roy is out of power, and Lesley begins her takeover, but this is the point where everyone recovers from the Rebellion

Lesley's Takeover- Current time and TV series

Future- We don't need to worry about that now, do we?

hello im here to write out as many of the headcanons/references there are in this image as i can in no particular order

•this is Nina's room!!! she and the girls have a monthly girls night :3

•Jeff likes to try and annoy them. it was his idea to go and spy on them, then Toby invited himself, then EJ got forcibly roped into it, and BEN just happened to have the same idea. Slenderman is .003 seconds away from confining them to their rooms for a week.

•Sally demands everyone wear sleepwear for their girls night, despite knowing it's not exactly a slumber party.

•Nina sleeps in a leftover hoodie from her Jeff-obsession era. She doesn't rlly care for Jeff anymore but she's a sucker for oversized hoodies, and she'd die before Jeff ever even got close to getting it back. Jane wears a cheetah(ish) print robe that Nina gifted her. Clockwork wears mismatched pajama bottoms and her jacket over that because she feels weird without it + she got her raccoon slippers because they remind her of Toby. Kate wears a panda hoodie that Sally found and gave her. She swears she just wears it for Sally's sake during girls night exclusively, but it's cozy and she actually sleeps with it every night. Mirabel can't be bothered to keep up her beauty queen shtick so she wears an oversized godzilla t-shirt and pajama shorts that match Sally's. (they're besties.)

•Nina will keep everything anyone will ever give to her. if you're in her life, you're in her room somewhere.

•on the corkboard there's pictures of EJ, Jane, Smile Dog, and Hoodie, as well as a drawing Bloody Painter made of Nina, plus Sally's drawing of a piggy. Below the shelf there's a drawing Sally made of Nina. (nina cried.) Beside the corkboard there's a drawing Nina made of her ponysona. Next to the bookshelf, there's a picture of Bloody Painter and one of Mirabel's professional headshots (signed, of course).

•Nina likes taking .5 pictures of Smile Dog, then she prints them out and puts them on her wall.

•Clockwork took one of Toby's hatchets and as soon as everyone saw it, they immediately had the idea to cover it in glitter. Toby's just going to have to deal with a cunty pink glittery hatchet now.

•The Masky plush: No one knows where it came from. it just showed up in Nina's room one day. She didn't buy it. It deeply disturbs Tim. Brian loves it. He wants one.

•The knife in the wall is from Nina saying something SO out of pocket about Mirabel's love life that her immediate reaction was to launch a knife at her.

•Nina sews. she took one of her curtains to make a cool outfit, then made a new curtain out of fabrix scraps.

•Nina loves putting stickers and decals on her walls. she has several MLP ones, a few critters, plus an everyman hybrid logo.

•Mirabel is (begrudgingly) in charge of getting everyone snacks or other supplies on account of her ability to travel through mirrors. She's sat by the mirror for easy access.

•Nina is a diehard MLP fan. her favorite is pinkie. Everyone in the mansion has a government assigned equestrian species (not just ponies!!!) and name.

•On the off chance anyone falls asleep, Kate and Clockwork are the firsts to reach for the sharpies.

•Nina has a pair of fursuit paws and matching ears and a tail. they're her favorite thing ever. also, paw socks! meowmeowmeowmeo

•Don't ask where Nina got her No Through Road sign. She got it from Toby.

Specifically like thinking about how their culture would work, and their solidarity, internal conflicts, shared trauma and how that would relate to those things. Their ideas about personal and cultural identity and how that would vary individually. Things like how their upbringing must have felt, how that affected them and who they became later in life, the things they're taught vs what they truly come to believe once they're out on the field, the psychological effects of O66 on the clones who survived and the devastating impact it must have had- Bro stop me or I'll keep going forever like. I'm in deep and tbh? I wouldn't change it for the world.

This theory doesn't work anymore, at all, but I remember years ago when the webseries wasn't done, a popular (I think?) Theory was that dhmis was just the real world through a child's eyes.

And that everything was so terrible because everything is worse in their brains, getting scolded for making a wrong decision and not being creative enough would be the end of the world for a kid. Because that's the worse thing that has happened to them, so it's the same as everyone dying and everything exploding, for them. Red left without a goodbye, to find another job, but in "the child's" aka Yellow's perspective Red just dissappeared and his head exploded in glitter and he died and never came back.

Im just being nostalgic, this doesn't make any sense now I'm aware but I like remembering the original theories since my original human AU was made around that theory back in I think 2015? I used to be a hard believer of that theory but with Lesley, the book, with the real world existing in dhmis and everything it just doesn't work anymore, I just felt like sharing with the new ones <3

Welp, it’s been a while, but part two to this au is finally here! if you’ve been waiting, then thank you for being so patient and thank the ever-cool @justherefor000 for helping designs these guys and starting this swap au off strong!!Ok enough intro, because i dont know what else to say hbdh

So let’s get to the other part of the swap designs :DD

Let’s start off with Shrignold who is called Michael here, the loneliest boy in town in 3. He’s a porcelain butterfly clock who teaches time and is really miserable about it. Despite the misery, he only wants to teach that time won’t last forever and that it should be valued, so he’s not that heartless. (he may be the kindest teacher of the bunch too) He also has a history with that love cult clock Shrigony, but that’s a tale for another time

Next, there’s Gilbert, basically, the friendly globe has swapped with the egotistical computer Colin and is now a jerk, also he goes by Gullibert here. He’s supposed to be based on antique globes, the great idea of Justy, and he has a lot of silver to show how vain he is too. Plus he’s worse here because he’s the father figure to the two computers, but he plays favorites and puts them against each other (what a bass)

He’s supposed to teach about the world, but he’s more focused on being at the center of it by being perfect >:[

Now we have the computer siblings, Perl the Laptop and Colin the Computer. Perl is the favored of the two, for being more modern than her brother, and is expected to be the perfect assistant of Gullibert. She was pressured to not lose this approval, even if this meant abandoning their brother. 

On the other hand, Colin receives the short end of the stick and is left neglected by his so-called “family”. He is usually left to his own devices, which doesn't help because he too wants to help teach, but is insecure about not being good enough. And while in DHMIS, Gilbert and Perl had each other for support, Colin is lonely and has no one to turn to…or so he thinks..

Lastly, we have the swapped health family where Fridge takes the lead and Bread Boy is the assistant. For simplicity’s sake, we’ll call them Fredrick and Barry respectively in the au. Fredrick is the parent of the group who cooks for everyone and Barry is that kid everyone cares for, they are really loved here. as they should be

Their lesson is still the same here, but it probably takes a while before descending into madness, because Fredrick wants to keep things professional. They are, however, as wholesome and gruesome as their DHMIS counterparts and they should be loved for that. This duo is not my favorite shut up /lh

Introduction (finally)

"Hi there! You seem like a little lost! Perhaps, I could help..!"

Hi, welcome to this Dhmis blog that I call DTIKY (I've been calling it like that for a long time, we don't talk about the "Me"). My name is Redo Cato, I'm the red mod, I don't use any pronoun (just he/him if it's necessary), English is not my first language and I'm the creator of Don't Touch Me, I'll Kill You. People often get confused and lose track of what is happening here because of the big amount of posts in this blog so this will work as a guide.

Ok, this is an au created in 2020, and (to let you know) I've been changing things in the script with the asks I had received or when I got inspiration to improve it. This also means it is more "connected" to the Web Series than the TV series, but it doesn't mean it isn't, yet. I promise I am working on it.

Now, let's talk about what this blog is about. Well, this is an alternative universe but ALSO and interpretation of dhmis. It tries to connect the tv series, the youtube series and what we know about the pilot with the help of ocs, headcanons and theories. Some of the theories that this blog has already shown are: Manny ("Yellow Guy") has paranoid schizophrenia and problems with controlling their attitude; the objects machine (made by Roy and Ross) is the explanation of where the objects come from; Clayhill as the place where the characters live and where we see the character's different connections.

Mod Ivy

Kairro: Morro posses Kai instead of Lloyd. Things take a much different and darker turn since Morro and Kai are very alike.*

Overkill au/ Overkill!Zane: Zane develops a glitch named Overkill that convinces him the best way to protect his friends to to mind control them. Surprisingly, the ninja disagree!*

Serial Killer Nya/Serial Killer!Nya: Nya is a serial killer, and very over protective of Kai. Instead of Samurai X Nya creates the persona Mazoku X. Kai is aware of her habits, but largely in denial. She's a bad influence on Lloyd.*

Hypno Lloyd/ Hypno!Lloyd: Lloyd has oni hypnosis powers.*

Evil Hypno Lloyd/ Evil Hypno!Lloyd: Lloyd decides to use his oni hypnosis powers to force all his friends to turn evil with him. Nya is able to get away because she doesn’t have an elemental connection to Lloyd for him to exploit.*

Thief au/ Thief!Kai, Theif!Nya, and Thief!Lloyd: Kai and Nya were adopted by Ronin, later finding and adopting Lloyd as well. Zane, Cole, and Jay are the same and have to try and get these hooligans to cooperate with them to save Ninjago.

D&D au: All of the show is just a D&D campaign the characters are playing.*

Moviekhan: Nadakhan shows up in the Movie universe, the movie ninja force wish for someone that can defeat him, Show!Jay gets teleported into their universe and has to coach the much younger ninja and help them defeat Nadakhan.

Siren au: Nya and Kai are sirens. Jay is a pirate they kidnap and keep as a pet/friend. 

Djinn!Jay: Somehow Jay gets turned into a Djinn. He gets his own rules and his wish granting has it’s own quirks.

Villain Vibe: All the ninja are just evil and group up to be bad evil people and rule ninjago. Each are their own brand of bad guy though.*

Cyborg Jay/ Cyborg!Jay: Jay has been augmenting himself in secret and has a whole system of inventions he’s wires into himself.

Oni Misako au: Misako is an oni that was sent to Ninjago as a scouting party, but met Mystake, fell in love with Garmadon, and decided to just live in Ninjago instead of trying to destroy it.

Fate/Ninjago: A holy grail war featuring all your favorite Ninjago characters! (Or at least weird reincarnated substitutes of some of them.) Cross over with the Fate series.*

Ninjatubers: The ninja get Youtube channels for various reasons. Chaos ensues.

Tall Vampire Lady Misako: Misako is a Lady Dimitrescu style vampire. Garmadon is a simp for his giant wife. (There is no tag for this because it got out of hand too fast and there is no way I can dig through and find everything now.)

Grandpa Djinn: Darla was pregnant before Nadakhan's banishment and was Kai and Nya's great something grandmother. Nadakhan escaped the tea pot early and is delighted to take in his great something grandkids.

Uncle Krux: Multiple versions. Krux takes Kai and Nya in instead of leaving them to fend for themselves and either raises them to be evil, or slowly gives up on the evil plan. Alternatively, he gives up on the evil plan before he ever kidnapped Ray and Maya.

Brainwashed Kai (Mod Ivy's Version): Instead of just stealing Kai’s element, Aspheera decides to take him as well, brainwashing him into being her decorative pet

Mod Kat:

Miraculous au: Lloyd accidentally gets stuck in the Miraculous Ladybug universe, the rest of the ninja soon follow. Hawkmoth is his usual jerk, the ninja use some miraculous and just generally deal with the chaos all while they figure out how to get home.

Monkie Kid crossover: the ninja adopt a child from another realm when he randomly gets spit out by a portal directly in their front yard.*

Mod [R]

Amnesicpirate!Jay au/ Orpheus!Jay: Jay gets kidnapped by Nadakhan and has his memories stolen. Jay is told that he’s always lived on the Misfortune’s Keep and that his name is Orpheus. The ninja recognize him, he doesn’t know who they are or why they keep calling him “J”.

Bunker au/ Bunker!Kai: Movie!Kai finds an abandoned super villain lair under his house and decides to use it as his own personal secret clubhouse. Show!Kai ends up in the Movie universe and Movie!Kai puts him in the super villain bunker and keeps him a secret from everybody while Show!Kai figures out how to get home.

Cryptid Jay Aus: Jay is a Cryptid that endlessly builds towers that the ninja need to stop. 3 versions, Gay, Child* and Greiving.

Amongus!au: The ninja are aboard a spaceship, and everything is going fine. Until they realize there is an imposter on the ship, planning to kill everyone.*

Kai instead au: In the pilot, Kai gets taken by the skullkin instead of Nya. Now she has to go find her brother. Nya gets help from three students who are also trying to stop the skulkin, they also want some weapons that she couldn’t care less about.*

DHMIS!au: The ninja as the Dhmis characters. Things go about as well as expected.*

Animaniacs au: The Warners mess with a machine of the Brains, meant for Brain to use the help of alternate universe versions of himself. This causes the three Warners to to be teleported to this weird place called “ninjago”, like what a stupid name!*

Hadestown au: It’s the Hadestown musical. Garmadon is Persephone, Misako is Hades. (Plasma au)*

Wrong place wrong timeline: The ninja keep seeing the apparition of a strange person desperately trying to get to them, disappearing right before they get to them. When trying to learn more about what’s going on, they learn that Garmadon is a little more ruthless than they thought.*

Blog God (Departed)

Brainwashed Kai au/ Brainwashed!Kai: Instead of just stealing Kai’s element, Aspheera decides to take him as well, brainwashing him into being her servant.

Siren Jay au/ Siren!Jay: Jay is part siren on his mother’s side and doesn’t have perfect control over his siren powers.

Element Swap au/ Element Swap!Kai, and Element Swap!Nya: Nya is the master of Fire and Kai is the master of water.

Ghost of Time AU/ Ghost of time: Kai dies fighting Krux and Acronix in the timestream, causing him to be removed from time. Small evidence remains of him existing like a blurry video of his final moment. Kai’s ghost is outside of time and has virtually no memories. The ninja think he’s important, but can’t figure it out, plus there are some holes in their own memories where things don’t make sense. 

Duolingo Lloyd: Lloyd is the duolingo bird (with a gun) and terrorizes Kai in his nightmares. (and I guess now Misako has an alter ego named Rosetta Stone that’s the same thing)
