Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek

As compared to other treks Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek is amongst the least trodden, off the beaten track, strenuous and adventurous trekking trail in Nepal Himalayas. The trekking trail leads to the foot of  Dhaulagiri, 7th. Highest Mountain in the world (8167m).

Situated in Myagdi District, west of the Annapurna Range in the Kaligandaki Gorge the Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek Route passes through least glacial Valley’s, snow bound meadows & tribal Villages consisting of  Magars, Gurungs and Thakali people. The Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek is the least Trekked trekking trails in Nepal Himalayas.

The beautiful Himalayan vista opens up as you slowly trek through two high passes, the French Pass(5360m) & Thapa Pass(5200m). Especially from the  French Pass( 5360m ) the Himalayan scenery is mesmerising.  Known as the White mountain Dhaulagiri and its trekking trail is most of the time covered in snow. Especially the French Pass and the Thapa Pass.

May and October is the best time to trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp. A little bit mountaineering Knowledge and a good physically fitness is required to complete the Dhaulagiri Trek. Careful Planning is required as most time of the year the path will be filled with snow as the Trail passes through glaciers and high mountain passes.

 Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek is Strenous Camping Trek and is recomended for seasoned & physically fit Trekkers. Dhaulagiri or white Mountain is separated from Annapurna Range by the Kali Gandaki River. Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trek Route leads into least trekked part of Nepal Himalayas through glacial Valley’s, snow bound meadows & tribal Villages.
