Happy #MondayMood . Last week was quite the week leading up to my birthday on Friday. Jesus and I sat down and had a talk y’all about diving deeper into my passion. . This year, I wanted to participate in more photography conferences and workshops. Little did I know that they’d happen (all 3) during my birthday week. . 1st: For the week of my birthday, I headed to Dallas, TX for the @styledshootsacrossamerica first conference by @heatherbengeevents. Amazing! . 2nd: On Friday (my birthday 🤗), I participated in the @dfinneymentoring session with @dfinneyphoto. Amazing! . 3rd: Mid-week I planned to fly home for the @kanayo_adibe workshop but the weather had other plans. ❄️ It seemed like I’d be stuck in Dallas and the workshop would still be on but the way my relationship with God is set up, it wasn’t going down like that. . I managed to keep my flight, making it home an hour before the snow storm started. And, the workshop was rescheduled to this week! 🙌🏽 . To top it off, I had a pretty cool photo session for the @themerakilabel new clothing line — you did that @daintydarah 🙅🏽‍♀️; I enjoyed the tenth year of @dctapfest 👯‍♀️ — congrats @maudiepooh and @chloearnoldtaps on going ten years strong 👊🏾; and I celebrated my birthday several times over 😜. It’s definitely been #OneForTheBooks. . And, this photo...It’s kind of how I feel stepping into this new year of life! #mood . Happy Monday y’all. Be great! . DFinney Mentoring

It’s no secret that Danielle Finney of DFinney Photography and Design is one of my favorite photographers. I was so thrilled to find out that she was hosting one of her mentoring sessions on how to master natural light close to me in Charlotte, NC.

My good friend and photographer, Sierra Collins, spent the day with Danielle learning technical tips to shooting in natural light, how to scout for natural light locations, and editing.

Danielle constructed a great team for the day and styled the shoot to perfection.
