Dragon fable - Hero of the past

Did some art for my Dragonfable character while ago, His name is PIZZA, for reasons that make sense but are currently irrelevant

For anyones interested in the abbreviated story, He is the hero of mechQuest However after the universe reset he retained a little more then most, his Name, a mechanical hand and ghosts of memory from a war that never was Now he makes his way through a world equal parts alien and familiar, in search of friends and foes he can scarcely recall save for there names and banners

Since typically soul weaver gauntlets have a stone on them - I assume the purpose of witch is to bind them somehow or act as a focal point of magic - I decided to place both stones on the same arm

Strangely he has no natural affinity for magic and can only use that of his soul ally, Lacking the innate gift for magic he stands entirely on the only gifts remaining, Valor and Cunning

more a personal idea, my guy in his core believes every battle is part of the same war were everyone he meets is either a brother or a sister, its why he jokes with everyone, every single one, And though the world may be full of opponents there is only One real enemy for whom Hate is reserved

Thinking about how after the war with the Shadowscythe, the Mechquest Hero would be visibly aged from the stress. Grey hairs and lines under the eyes from the pressure of it all. Would the Reset wipe that away? Would they regain that youth and vitality only to lose it all over again? Or would the Dragonfable Hero, supposedly fresh and new to the role at the start of their adventure, already look aged beyond their years- as if they've maybe always been carrying the weight of the world?

im so glad swordhaven update has npcs mentioning dreadhaven. before it was just prior knowledge from df robina, aqw drakath telling hero his backstory before he nestle crunches them in chaos saga finale, and seppy’s past the saga. it was like everyone (except drakath) collectively decided to move forward and avoid opening old wounds even though what happened needs to be remembered to avoid a repeat. until the update i headcanoned that they wouldnt mention dethrix’s rule to minimize the impact he made on them.

i would think about my ocs’ pasts and realize how much happens in less than a century. dethrix ruled for 30 years and gets overthrown, and drakath was only 10. by the time aqw main story starts, most characters we know save for a few are adults and it’s like years after df’s orb saga/book 1. by the time chaos saga starts, everyone who is an older adult had grown up in dethrix’s rule and the elders would have to have known a time before he took over and the humans vs monsters conflict. the younger adults and children didn’t grow up under dethrix’s rule but their parents did. but until chaos saga started, both generations also had the good vs evil conflict to deal with. they went from living under dethrix’s rule to trying not to die at seppy’s hands to dealing with chaos to queen of monsters to malgor, and that’s without the sidestories.

and irl, theres a lot of changes like rights made that seem like it was a long time ago since they were made but it really isn’t.

the pizza place needs a health inspector. badly. and that requires swordhaven to have a food health and safety administration

Haha! admittedly i only made rather minor customizations but eh im happy, Soul weaver with the appropriate amount of armor for someone zipping about beyond the speed of sound with places to go gotta follow that rainbow, heh

By book 3 this would be his response, Book 1 he'd treat the question like a joke, a very funny joke - Ahoy i was looking through Dragonfable stuff and wound up on some old Hero appreciation day posts, And had an idea for how my guy would answer the question, Admittedly this probably isnt quite the answer the post had in mind but eh i liked the idea
