Geez, everytime I step back into the Nier Automata world I’m reminded of how much it sucks what happened to this version of Devola and Popola. Like, what the heck man.

This version of the twins didn’t even do anything wrong. And really the ones that did were just following their directives. They were doing their jobs and because they failed every other twin model is programmed to feel this overwhelming sense of guilt for something that they had no actual part in.

They even talk about how they think the reason they’re twins in the first place is because they can share the burden, if I’m remembering correctly.

Small mercies, I guess. Or more cruel machinations.

Kainé's Embrace

Up this week we have a Nier piece once again, featuring the lovely twins and their (apparent) lover, Kainé! It's the harvest festival in the ruins, and there's a delicious main course on offer. :D

Had a lot of fun designing this one, I saw a piece someone else did (and promptly lost the link of course) featuring these three and it was an excellent, excellent idea. Might also need to be a sequel to this one...
