DCMK Friends! WE HAVE A BREAKTHROUGH!

Do you remember when I talked about a particular Detective Conan PS1 Game-Demo Disc?

I managed to ripp the game and get it to work with "DuckStation" PS1-Emulator!

After ripping the demo game "TrickTrick Vol.0 Detective Conan Crossroad in the Ancient Capital" and compared all its files to the files of the fully released game version "Detective Conan TrickTrick Vol.1", I can officially say, there's no major differences in the files other than some minor promotional branding for the 7. Detective Conan movie.

The most impressive is actually just the intro sequence with movie trailer and the game title screen.

Ich kann null einschätzen wie die Resonanz zu dem Post wird, aber ich habe mir mal die Mühe gemacht und eine Ausgabe der Kids Zone aus dem Jahr 2002 digitalisiert und als PDF hochgeladen. Ich hab die Dinger damals immer recht gern gelesen und habe noch Unmengen davon archiviert. Je nachdem ob sich überhaupt jemand dafür interessiert wäre mein Plan gewesen jede Woche ein Exemplar hochzuladen. Lasst mir dazu gern nen Kommentar da.

PS: Ich hoffe meine Scann-Künste werden im Laufe der Zeit besser. Ich hab leider keinen A3-Scanner und muss daher jede Seite einzeln einscannen.

I saw an empty listing on the English Detective Conan Wiki, for a "Demo Version" of the PlayStation1 game "Detective Conan TrickTrick Vol.1."

I thought to myself, how hard must it be to find a physical copy of this Demo Disc?

So I searched for it. I found it and bought it. Here it is!

The Copy I own is in good condition. It has no scratches and the manual is included. So it should work with a Japanese Playstation1 or PS1 Emulator on PC.

Right of the bat, you can see that the title is very long.

It Translates a the following:

"TrickTrick Vol.0 DetectiveConan CrossroadintheAncientCapital SpecialDisc"

"Crossroad in the Ancient Capital"? That sounds like a Detective Conan movie...

The 7th Detective Conan movie to be exact!

If you also look closer at the images used in the background of the cover art, you can see that these are scenes from the movie.

So what on earth has the 7th Detective Conan movie to do with a random Detective Conan video game?

I researched about the origin of this Demo Disc and I found a Japanese blog entry with more information on it.

It Translates:

Premium ticket benefit for movie "DetectiveConan Crossroad in the Ancient Capital".

That essentially means, if you would live in Japan and you would purchase a premium movie ticket to see the 7th Detective Conan movie in theaters, you would also get this Demo Version of an upcoming Detective Conan PlayStation1 video game.
