Given enough, is this child version of him doomed to repeat the same path he already could not escape from . Property of the world government, beholden to the celestial dragons, this version of me that cannot go free?

It’s interesting that Vegapunk joined the government so that he could do the most good, but look at the long line of people right infront of him that he’s hurt with his own hands.

I am moving soon and have a lot of extra clothes and some stuffed animals that are what I would consider nice. I would love to be able to donate them to people in need and being effected by the LA fires but it would have to be by mail. ah i love dave trying to stand up to gamzee. you know their convo together right after gamzee turns? that whole thing where he's laughing it off until he realizes gamzee might be serious and also know things about him that he shouldn't and then you get the sense he's getting anxious about it but trying not to let it show. it's a good scene i think, love gamzee suddenly gaining the upperhand on people in a convo and freaking them out. i think it especially works with dave just bc of how he is? idk how to describe it. like he's tying to fight a storm. it's sort of funny. and the fucking is a fun bonus on top of that.

Also for anyone reading saviour complex, I’m literally terrible at writing chapter notes so I just word vomit here:

I find people pleasing to exist in the same realm as Astarion thinking he’s ‘manipulating people’. He’s scared and using all the tools at his disposal to be safe, and so is Haven. Haven is at her core a people pleaser: she cares when people are upset, she cares when people don’t like her. She does what she has to to be safe. So the entirety of chapter 3 is a double edged sword: she wants to be liked, Astarion has realised how she can like him. And she’s going to hate it, because they’re two sides of the same coin, but she can’t turn it off either and it means our sweet baby Haven is also manipulating him in turn. It’s transactional and not, and they both loathe themselves for it. And it’s DELICIOUS.

Wildfires. It's been dry as tinder already this year here in Colorado, and we usually have several wildfires of varying sizes. Couple that with the sweeping cuts to our forestry service, BLM, and firefighting force and backdrop of services....we're all pretty worried. (also, there's a super-volcano one state away, which I'm not entirely sure won't be on the 2025 Bingo card at this rate)

I'm really curious about this!! in aotearoa, every classroom I was in growing up had posters up on how to respond to an earthquake. "drop, cover, hold" was drilled into me from a very young age. I experienced a few growing up, but they were mild because I don't live in areas where they are more extreme. One of our major cities, christchurch/ōtautahi, gets hit by earthquakes very frequently. if you look at a global seismic hazard map, aotearoa is fully lit up in the colour indicating high hazard chance. wild!!!

for reference, in the UK (similar size country) there are around 20-30 noticeable earthquakes per year. in aotearoa, that number is around 100-250!
