As much as a I love The Conductor and Maya as a villain (killing copies of your wife til you get the "right one" when that one doesn't even exist is super fucked and very cool), I am deeply saddened at the fact the Vex are, once again, used as a tool for a not-Vex antagonist. Someone in our discord mentioned they could've just had the Echo hit a Vex goblin on the head, and have it struggle and lash out with its newly gained sentience, agency, self-determination, etc, and ive been thinking about it ever since.

What would happen if a part of a whole asked, "What do I want?"

How would a collection of micro organisms piloting a robotic chassis react to feeling an emotion™ for the first time?

How would a colony of organisms define "self?"

How would it separate from The Collective? Would it have to when it could control them with a thought? It could simply bend the Collective to it.

Would it see wonder and love in the life around it or imperfection and sorrow in the death that follows?

I'd be fucking locked in on this villain.

I like the after-boss fight chatter taking place post-finale for Act 2. You get more of an idea on the beyond what just happened.

I got one conversation between Saint and Osiris after the third battlegrounds mission.

SAINT: "I told Geppetto what I saw in my tomb. That together we destroyed many Vex." "I told her, how she was brave, at the end. As I was... And when she fell, she was proud that I tried to avenge her." "For a moment I knew, what it was like to lose her, and the Light. It was... lonely." "I understand now, Osiris. I'm sorry." OSIRIS: "Sometimes I call for Sagira. I put out my palm and she's... not there. I do it less and less, but..." "I know I'm not alone in my grief. The parallels between the bird grandpas and the science wives is so obvious yes, but I JUST realized that act one’s cutscene where Saint shares his dream of exploring the universe parallels the act three cutscene between Maya and Chioma!
