#despite RCG literally having a podcast where they discuss all of the thought that goes into it

i think. if you can't admit to loving something genuinely, you should work on that. you can have complex opinions on media, you can have your issues with it, criticize and complain, but if you're in a fandom for it, you clearly love it enough to want to spend additional time discussing and expanding upon it with others. and to act like you're above anyone else because you aren't As Embarrassing about the way you present yourself is a reflection of self hatred (and often a very ableist self hatred that has been internalized because you've been burned before) that needs to be remedied. if seeing someone openly enjoying something bothers you, i'd ask you to ruminate on why you feel jealous of that freedom. is it better to repress yourself to avoid being "cringe" to others? would you not be happier if you allowed yourself full uninhibited range of expression? if someone wants to be miserable and pick apart your posts to make fun of you for enjoying yourself then they're the asshole, fuck 'em.
