#Repost @traditionalhome (@get_repost) ・・・ Good Sunday morning! It's @coreydamenjenkins signing on for Traditional Home's #designertakeover series! Let's face it: we all spend a LOT of time getting ready in the bathroom on a daily basis. So as a designer, I believe these spaces should be more than simply functional: they can make grand statements of high fashion, personality and they can even be whimsical sanctuaries! For example, this is a bathroom I designed recently in Minneapolis, MN. The centerpiece of the design is a private, concave library wrapped around the tub, with a @hudsonvalleylighting Pendant hanging from a cupola above. If you enjoy reading while soaking, this concept puts the books (and towels!) within your reach! The all-marble shower is enclosed in a separate compartment several feet away. The architecture is inspired by Florence, Italy and I had the moldings painted "Greenery" . Some people have asked why I didn't paint all the moldings white. Well, white would've been beautiful...albeit also safe and "expected". Life is too short to be expected. 😉 New Traditional means pushing the envelope in the 21st Century and breaking certain design rules of the past. I'm all about taking risks and lacquering the millwork green just *felt right*! 😜 A colorful toile wallpaper is a bold compliment to the @tonyroko contemporary art, and the floor introduces a geometric flavor comprised of calacutta marble. All of the plumbing fixtures are from @dxvluxury and you may have seen this space featured in their national ad in Traditional Home recently. This project was such a joy to work on!
