Avui torna a IFL una de les obres simfònic corals que més estimo, el Stabat Mater d’Antonín Dvořák, una obra que que ja he portat vàries vegades a IFL i que seguiré portant perquè l’estimo i sempre que l’escolto em trasbalsa. Si en les darreres ocasions que aquesta bellíssima obra va protagonitzar un apunt al blo, les propostes provenien del Festival de Saint Denis (2014) sota la direcció de Jakub Hrůša i la darrera provenia del Festival de Lucerna (2015) sota la direcció de Jansons, en aquesta ocasió la proposta ens arriba de Praga sota la direcció d’Emmanuele Villaume i amb un quartet solista correcte i sense especials espectacularitats, amb: Kristine Opolais, Jana Kurucová, Richard Samek i René Pape.
Villaume amb sobrietat però sense defugir la espectacular bellesa de els melodies dirigeix una versió esplèndida, gràcies també a la PKF Prague Philharmonia i al meravellós Czech Philharmonic Choir of Brno.
Tret de Pape, no sembla que els altres tres solistes tinguin veus molt poderoses i per tant no sabem com corrien per la preciosa sala Dvořák de Praga, però per la televisió Opolais sona menys sumptuosa del que és habitual i una mica més crispada (el repertori escollit darrerament li estarà passant factura?), el tenor txec Richard Samek mostra una veu deliciosament lírica i potser mancada d’una mica més de presència i projecció, mentre que la mezzosoprano eslovaca Jana Kurucová aporta calidesa amb un so rodó que contrasta amb Opolais, però com a Samek li he trobat a faltar registre (els greus són inexistents o es desfan com les farinetes). Pape, al qui a vegades els greus se li desfan,, aporta una humanitat que li agraeixo i que darrerament em costa tant trobar-li.
Malgrat el que es pugui despendre del darrer paràgraf el conjunt està perfectament integrat i Villaume sap fer volar la inspiració de Dvořák, entre l’explosió melòdica i la expressió dramàtica ja sigui intimista o dramàtica, gràcies a un cor que m’ha entusiasmat per el meravellós equilibri i la qualitat de les veus, on distingeixen amb claredat les quatre famílies.

El concert, retransmès per la cadena Arte, commemorava el 10è aniversari del Festival Dvořák, ocasió que m’ha semblat, degut a la bellesa de l’obra, que bé mereixia el protagonisme aquí.
