#OKCBombing #DerwinMiller would always say how much he wished his life was more like mine. He confessed that "thrills" were part of the attraction to becoming a Secret Service Agent. This day is the annual reminder of how interesting my life has been...and how every achievement I make is a celebration of and for him. I was so close to being there with him. And now I know what "Survivor's Remorse" is. I befriended him knowing how difficult it can be to connect with people of the same mindset when relocating to a new city. I had relocated often in my life an luckily learned to attract friendships easily...and in the Family of #AlphaPhiAlpha, I was the brother to know in this state to meet all the brothers across the board...and I introduced Derwin to the locals. I then kept checking in on him and inviting him out. I made sure he could find happiness in OKC through the brotherhood. We spoke of the highest ideals in being #Alphamen. #AlphasInActionOKC was created with his influence in mind. I never ever saw him not smiling...now I hardly ever smile since he passed. Two weeks of digging was torture to my soul. Then when he was was found I imagined the torture to his soul. I hate this day because he died on it. I love this day because it reminds me to be grateful for every day I lived past his death. This is the single most shocking day of my life. A #terrorist bomb in #OKLAHOMA? And this guy recites our favorite poem while being executed? Man, what a way to spit on #Derwin's grave. And I recite #Invictus on days like this just to make it through. Today is torture. I hate today...yet I love it. #GOD please help me! I have the best intentions in my quest. Mankind will be blessed by my success. I do this in Derwin's name. He was a good member of #AlphaPhiAlpha. #AlwaysSmiling
