Curse of the Nitghborne.

Guys, I haven't had time to play a lot, but I think the god of this land MAY BE the bad guy, but don't listen to me much.

Get up, folk! Flor did another Curse of Strahdanya crossover after Derek mentioned Lethica fused with Strahdanya as one throw joke in a stream!

The style is indeed inspired by the great art in Hades (the videogame), and the background is by Hades II.

Lethica Nightborne as Strahdanya

----LORE------- In Barovia, a land of the dead, of suffering and grief, a new god has appeared out of nowhere covering the land in an eternal night... Of happiness? Lethica Nightborne, known as the Divine, has presented herself as the saviour that the land needed it, for what seems like decades. Her light, her kindness, her power, has changed the region and the hearts of the people to their core, as the land has been reborn... As there's new blood... But of course, you can't blame the nature of evil, so there's still death, suffering and pain in Barovia, but of course, our saviour, our dear wife, cleans it as she chooses. And if she asks for a sacrifice, of course, we will bring it to her, if she asks for the firstborn of every family, we will name the second after her, and if she asks that we take care of her dinner guests, we shall take care of them. -----DESIGN------- All I knew of Lethica was that I wanted her to wear a veil, and she couldn't only be a countess but a whole god, the saviour of Barovia. The churches don't talk about sun gods, only of her, their lady of dark, their god. Her dress comes from mixing Stradhanya's and hers, ending in a very 19th figure, with a bit of Mesopotamian fashion (the metal belts and sleeves with the double skirt) to show her as a figure of the past, as somehow older than she appears. Of course, she had to have some kind of knife so a knife fan, and a cup to show wealth and power (her cup is always full, full of what? Well, if you look at the very pale man under with not a lot of blood left-)

Marius Renathyr as Victoria Issacs

-----LORE------- Marius as a man of Ilmater seems to be QUITE interested in Barovia, a land of suffering and grief, to the extreme that seems too personal to just be a missionary mission to conquer pain. The university doesn't trust him completely, but somehow, even as a new member of the university and resident of Druskenwald, Marius had found a way to get the vote of everyone involved and the funds for the crusade. But what would be the real reasons for such travel? Or... WHO is the real reason? ------DESIGN ------ Inspired by the old missionary ropes of the 1800s and the typical vampire hunter, Marius stands as a very weird-looking holy man. From Victoria's design, we get the rosary turned into this over-complicated necklace and the ropes around his hips that reference the bloody ropes of Ilmater. (Victoria's, and now Marius, god.) And his sword has turned into a cane. (a cane with a blade.)

Yorgrim as Silas "Shepherd" Morgan

-----LORE-------- From the depths of Yona, a mercenary is invited to participate in an expedition to a land of death and suffering. He accepts stating that he has other business in Barovia and he could be glad to accompany the group under the condition he would work in peace when need it. Of course, he refuses to say the kind of work, you know, "professional privacy policy" and all. But by his reputation... It can't be good... -----DESIGN------- I was going to go with a funeral worker, but the scarf with teeth appeared and it changed the vision. The design takes more inspiration from Shepherd than Yorgrim, with the hunter theme, with the shotgun filled with blue magic and a list of hunts on red clay (that would be broken when the hit is eliminated.)

Briggsy "The Kutlass" Kratch as Professor Clayton Azran

LORE------- Briggsy may take the role of the professor, but he's not the expedition's leader. He's contracted by the University of Druskenwald to keep an eye on Marius (since the university is suspicious of the holy man). He accepts, without even wondering or caring what Barovia is, only happy to finally obtain a title under his piracy by the lords of Druskenwald. (He's getting paid to be a pirate, oh the dream!) DESIGN------ With his design, he was the last one and I was VERY tired, so... It's something weird? You know, a pirate trying to look like a "noble man". (but he's very much failing, he looks like a maniac I think)

Jericho Sticks/Virgil as Sarnax of the Edelwood

----LORE----- The cult of Gherix initially refused the university and the idea of letting them explore the runes in their forest. Until they accept but a month away from the expedition which is extremely suspicious. When the group found themselves in the forest, there he is, Jericho, a sacrificial figure of sticks and straw offered by the cult as a guide. (Of course, the poor, only brought to life months ago, strawman is a sacrifice in the name of Gherix that, by burning in Barovia, will give the god control over the whole region. / Indeed, Virgil is now Gherix we get an asshole god, give it up!) -----DESIGN----- Inspired by Wicker Man (giant figures of sticks and straw with animal sacrifices that are burned during Celtic rituals such as the Beltane.) Jericho is turned into a sacrificial figure who will burn when it's necessary by the light that keeps him alive.

-------LORE------- It isn't clear when or how, but Farryn ends up getting involved with the expedition. As a storm in sea, one day, the swordswoman appears out of the blue stating that she's also trying to find her way into Barovia. The deer refuses to explain her business with the "Divine" of all people, only holding her katana with anger and sadness, but she's clearly not looking to make friends. (She ends up being friends with the whole party.) -------DESIGN----- Based on the Sika deer (a Japanese deer), the design lingers more around the fusion character while keeping Farryn's figure, with the open skirt covered by her leg armour that goes up to her hips and the war paint, fur, and bone that stays in view.

author's notes: i'm back to original programming (writing for spencer). i laughed a lot writing this. i hope you do too while reading this one. enjoy!

YOU’D LIKE TO THINK THAT YOU ARE A MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE PERSON. You’d like to think that you are mature enough to not worry about a little blemish—a bruise, if we’re being honest. You work for the FBI for Pete’s sake! So, ending up with a giant bruise on your forehead was something you already anticipated. But getting a bruise due to the most embarrassing reason is something you never thought you’d experience. You’ve been on the receiving end of a couple of injuries after scuffles with unsubs. Of course, you weren’t new to scratches. But this? A massive purple splotch on your forehead caused by a drunken mistake takes the cake. Your coworkers would have a field day on this one once they find out why.

You were taking your sweet time walking out of the elevator when you heard a dramatic gasp from none other than your most gossipy coworker, Penelope Garcia. You love the woman. You do! She’s one of your best friends in the world. You just wished she wasn’t so curious and chatty. You don’t want everyone in the office to know your business and the lore behind your bruised forehead.

“My beautiful baby angel!” Garcia shrieked. “What happened to your forehead? Whose life am I going to ruin for hurting your pretty face? I can just look up their digital footprint and have it sen—“

“I’m fine, Pen,” You laughed. Penelope may be a big gossip but she’s the most thoughtful and caring person ever, right after another colleague of yours.  “It’s nothing. My phone fell on my face after I had to turn off my alarm while half asleep.”

“You sure?” Your friend clarified. “Because I can ruin their life truly. I’m not even kidding right now.”

“I know that,” You smiled endearingly at your sweet friend. “And I love you for that.”

You hugged Penelope and kissed her cheek as she started mumbling about how you were protecting the person who hurt you, vowing to know who it was. Oh, you were protecting someone, just not who Penelope expected it to be. And the injury was not because of you snoozing your alarm half-asleep.

Technical analyst down, five profilers to go.

You wish it’d be that easy to fool them.

“What’s going on here?”

Both of you turned and faced none other than the biggest jokester on the team, Derek Morgan. You think fooling Penelope was hard? Try fooling Morgan. As much of a prankster he is, he’s one of the greatest profilers you’ve worked with. Don’t let his well-built body fool you because he isn’t just a typical jock. Derek’s mind was as sharp as a steel trap.

“Nothing,” You retorted, trying to prevent Derek from seeing your forehead. “What? I can’t hug my favorite member of the team now?”

“Hey!” Derek exclaimed. “I thought I was your favorite member of the team. You know, when I bought you your coffee last week?”

“It’s expired. Sorry, buddy.” You huffed sassily, patting Derek’s shoulder, absolutely eager to leave the man behind with Penelope when he easily grabbed your arm before you could escape. “Buy me another cup of coffee and we can talk about it.”

“Did someone hurt you?” Derek interrogated, his jaw hardening as he saw the shiner you were sporting. “Who did this to you? I swear to Go—”

Before you could reply and “explain” the bump you had, Emily came bounding into your little group circle, laughing about some boo-boo Spencer was parading around. She failed to observe the serious atmosphere between you, Derek, and Penelope as she went on and on about the purple splotch on Spencer’s face until she noticed the lack of response from all three of you. 

“Did you guys even hear what I just said?” Emily probed, giggling as she tried to share Spencer’s unfortunate tale. “Reid has a shiner on his forehead the size of Texas.”

You stared at your shoes pointedly, scratching the side of your forehead where the bruise was, avoiding everyone’s stare before they could put two and two together.

“What’s up with you?” 

At this point, you were sweating buckets, hoping Emily wouldn’t notice the welt on your temple, which may or may not match the one on Spencer’s forehead. You slowly backed away to avoid the three people in front of you when you bumped into someone. Turning, you saw none other than the one person you hoped not to bump into today out of all days because then, the whole team would know what was going on.

“H-hey Spence!” You cheerfully greeted, pretending everything was normal. Pretending that having a bruise that mirrored the other person’s bruise was normal for coworkers like you. “Everything okay?”

You were about to continue rambling to deflect the questions both you and Spencer were about to get bombarded with when all three of your teammates started gasping dramatically. A chorus of  “Oh my god!”,  “No way!”, and “My man” coming out of their mouths.

You facepalmed and grunted when you accidentally hit your temple as Spencer frowned, not registering the reactions you were getting from your other coworkers. “Are you okay? Did you put an ice pack on your bruise for ten to twenty minutes? You must ice an injury during the first twenty-four to forty-eight hours as it eases the inflammation.”

“I’m fine,” You assured Spencer to prevent him from rambling on and on. He tends to do that when he’s worried. It’s endearing but right now? You didn’t need him to divulge any more details that could help the others construct the whole picture together. “I did everything you told me to last night.”

“Last night?!” Penelope screeched behind you. “Weren’t we all together last night? We were at O’Keefe’s and then—Oh! Boy Wonder took you home after one too many drinks. Oh my god! Are you guys dating? Did you have se—” 

Emily placed a palm on Penelope’s face and muffled her screeching before she could cause a scandal on the entire floor while Derek was laughing uncontrollably now, slapping his thigh like what Penelope just said was the funniest thing in the world. 

“My man,” Morgan whistled, smirking at Spencer who still looked confused as ever. You were full-on scowling right now, willing the earth to swallow you whole, or maybe the three members of the team who were nagging you and Spencer  “I didn’t know you had it in you to spend a late night with anyone else other than your books.”

“Shut up!” You cried while Spencer sputtered.

“W-what? N-no!” The brunette interjected, blushing like crazy now. “I didn’t spend the night at her house,” He pointed at you. “We didn’t do anything! We just, you know, almost kissed. That’s all.” Spencer muttered as he scratched the back of his neck.

“Is that why you both have that huge welt on your foreheads?” Emily wheezed. “ You didn’t even get to kiss. You just banged your foreheads together and called it a day. Oh my god! Wait till Rossi hears this one.”

“Emily!” You shrieked. “Get back here!”

As you tried to chase after the woman who was off like a jet, Penelope and Derek were snickering like little kids trying to text JJ, your other teammate, who hadn’t arrived yet. 

“Are you okay?”

You turned to see JJ who had just arrived looking confused as to why both you and Spencer were red in the face, you in indignation, and Spencer in embarrassment. 

“What’s going on?” The blonde woman asked slyly. “Penelope just sent a group text saying you and Spence tried to make out and failed so now you both have matching bruises.”

“Not you too!” You groaned as JJ cackled, pulling Garcia and Derek away from you and Spencer.

“I’m sorry,” Spencer broke the silence once both of you were alone. “If I didn’t head butt you, we wouldn’t be sporting these massive bruises.”

You laughed, shaking your head. “For what it’s worth, at least we’re matching. Who else gets to say that?”

Spencer smiled softly and stared at your lips. It seemed time stood still, and you wanted nothing more than to have a repeat of last night—a much better version of last night, of course. You were slowly moving towards each other when you heard someone tittering. 

“Oh my god! The kids are about to kiss.”

“Wait a minute, Spence” You held the brunette’s shoulders, stepped back, and turned to your side. Your four other teammates were now giggling like kids in the schoolyard. “Get out!”

They all scrambled right after guffawing.

Maybe maturity was something the FBI should add to their requirements when hiring new agents. The BAU was full of juvenile delinquents.

The Deep Dad Lore - A Criminal Minds, NCIS, and Supernatural Fanfiction

A/N: I had this random idea of having Hotch, Rossi, Gibbs, Vance, and Bobby as old friends, and they're just chilling in Hotch's office drinking and reminiscing about the good old days and just dropping tons of Dad lore whilst their chaotic insane mentally ill children just watch through the cameras that Garcia hacked lol and they're just shocked and invested in the dad lore 🤣

It was a normal day at the BAU. Everyone was working on different case files, talking on phones, and typing on computers, and the bitter scent of coffee filled the air. Meanwhile, SSA Unit Chief Aaron Hotchner was in his office with his old friends: SSA David Rossi, who was also his co-worker, NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Director of NCIS Leon Vance, and Bobby Singer; they were all sipping whiskey and chatting about the good old days. What they didn't know was that their chaotic children were watching them through the security camera in Hotch's office. "Okay, I've hacked into the camera. Now let's see what they're up to", Garcia said as everyone watched the live footage.

"Man, do you remember that time we all got really drunk and snuck into that old navy yard and decided to just drunkenly drive tanks around the place?" Gibbs asked with a laugh "Oh god, yes, we were so drunk; I also remember we blasted pop music and just drunkenly started singing?" Rossi chimed in Vance laughed "God we were so stupid back then." "Stupid? We were insane back when we were teenagers," Bobby retorted with a smirk. "True, we were stupid, and I remember the time we made time hooch in college just because we found an old record which played the recipe", Hotch giggled with a smirk. "My god, we caused so much trouble when we returned to the past," Vance said, laughing. "Do you guys remember the time we got really drunk and went back in time to the 1920s and just ended up stealing so much booze from Al Capone?" Bobby laughed "Oh god, yes, and I remember we sped off in one of the old automobiles whilst chugging bottles of booze like it was water", Gibbs snickered with a laugh. Meanwhile, everyone was just shocked. "I-wait, how-" Timothy McGee stammered as the rest of the NCIS team just looked confused and in shock "I honestly have no clue-" Spencer Reid said, looking bewildered. Sam Winchester said, "I remember Bobby mentioning time hooch, but I never knew he did that." Dean Winchester, Sam's brother, nodded. "I agree this is insane, I can't believe they never told us any of this." Castiel, Sam and Dean's angel friend, nodded in agreement whilst looking confused. "I agree but this is interesting" Nick Torres replied, "I cannot believe we didn't know about this" "Oh yeah, this is insane", Derek Morgan agreed, rubbing his head in confusion. "This is some insane dad lore", Ellie Bishop said crossing her arms "Mhm, totally, this is madness," Alex Quinn said as she looked shocked. JJ, Emily, and Garcia agreed. "I swear there's always something about them that we don't know," Emily said "Oh yeah, so true", JJ said Abby Sciuto chimed in, "Oh, I agree this is madness"

Garcia nodded. "And I am definitely sending you this footage; this is too interesting," she said as she started sending the footage to everyone. They all agreed as they were invested in the dad lore from the men in the office.

Meanwhile, the men were laughing their heads off in Hotch's office. "God, those were the good old days", Bobby said, laughing as he sipped his whiskey. "Oh, agreed, we have some insane dad lore", Gibbs agreed, laughing. "Amen to that," Hotch said, laughing as they all clinked their glasses and continued chatting and laughing their heads off as they reminisced about the good old days.

she would say he's read too many novels, but it's not like he saw someone rob a store and called it in. the way his adrenaline is going, there's no way he'd sit there and remember novels or movies when giving a report.

violence at home? one too many reports. police parent, maybe. that would be the easiest option, but she thinks of teenage derek morgan giving this response and doesn't think it would be like this. combination of the two? )

and then the change. from giving it like a report to giving it like she'd expected. like he's noticed what he's done.

something is off. something is so damn off.

"she'll be alright," she says. "the woman you saved. i've been with the fbi for a few years now, and this is the luckiest break we've ever had. which is going to be weird, for paperwork."

and maybe for the media, too.

this is a bau conversation, for sure. get their thoughts, at the very least. have spencer rattle off statistics about teens, have rossi say something insane about growing up that adds another headache to the lore of that weird little man.

"you have good instincts," she says, instead of voicing any of that, trails off - "sorry, i don't think i got your name."

he can't help the small twitch of his lips when the agent mentions that he took the serial killer down like a professional. it shouldn't be funny , but it is. ( he never wants to be a " professional " ever again , but he can appreciate the irony ).

he files away the first and last name , just as he files away both of the nervous habits. she was worried about something , and alex wasn't sure about what until she offers him some food. his eyebrows furrow slightly , before he realises what he probably looks like to her -- a teenager who was walking around at night with enough skills to take down a grown man. one who seems nervous about talking to the police and the fbi at first and hasn't rushed to contact anyone at all. she probably thought he was homeless , which , alex could at least admit to himself , wasn't inaccurate.

there's a part of him that's worried about going to the precinct , but even if they had to collect his dna too , there was no way there cia put a flag on that , right ? his fingerprints and his face , maybe , his name , definitely , but not his dna.

he nods. ( he doesn't offer his name ). ' i was walking by when i noticed that the front door to this house was ajar. it seemed ... odd , and i had a bad feeling , so i went inside. ' unconsciously , his tone and body language starts to shift , less of a nervous teenager telling a story and more like a soldier or an agent doing a debrief. ' the assailant had been white , mid-30s , 6'1" and around 170 pounds , and he was distracted in the living room , tying up the victim. she had already been stabbed , upper arm , but was conscious kept quiet , i assume due to earlier threats. i had motioned to her to stay quiet when i was going to knock him unconscious with a blow to the head but she stared too long and he knew that there had to be someone behind him. '

( he couldn't exactly fault her for that , but that had caused the whole thing to be more drawn out than needed. ).

he blinks as he realises the mindset he had accidentally slipped back into , and he grimaces for a moment before he starts to slouch -- more teenager than anything else.

' we fought. i managed to knock him out , and then you guys came in , guns blazing. ' he shrugged. ' that's really it. '
