“Congratulations. You’re being rescued.”

HEAD QUICKLY WHIPPED UP FROM ITS STUPOR, having stared at the same stack of case files for the past hour. The pilot had thought he’d left all of the paperwork behind once he’d left the Air Force, though it seemed whoever had recruited him from their ranks had been lying through their teeth. They were all just people in suits, handing him packet after packet of restrictions and threat assessments. He hated every second of the time he had to stay parked behind a desk, so hearing that newly-familiar voice was as much of a rescue as Bishop seemed to be playing it up to be. 

A grin instantly stretched across the pilot’s lips, right hand closing the file in front of him as dramatically as possible.   ❝ If it wasn’t already obvious, you’re my favorite person in this whole building. ❞   His hand patted their shoulder, letting out a chuckle before his curiosity took over.       ❝ Unless you’re taking me to come help you with yours, in which... I’m sick, and I think I should head home. ...really sick. ❞

   It was a rather peaceful night. Aella sat behind her desk, a knee crossed over one of her legs, reading – so engrossed in her story that it took her many moments to understand that someone was speaking to her, let alone what they were saying. 

   Her eyelashes fluttered, for a moment, before she closed her book, scooted forward. 

   “None. It is my job.” She held out her hands, received the papers carefully, as though not wanting to damage them – as though they’d been through enough to suffer at her hands. “How can you be confident they are vital? People cannot choose with what they die, deputy.”

he   strolls   across   the   castle   grounds,   waving   to   all   that   he   passes   and   offering   smiles   to   all   those   he   sees,   hands   are   clasped   together   as   he   glances   out   at   the   water,   “   there   are   mountains   that   are   stacked   with   𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐑.   ”   ben   mentions   carefully,   introductions   having   been   LONG   taken   care   of.   “   towers   of   prejudice   that   must   be   torn   down.   ”   there   was   no   point   to   ignore   this   fact,   it   would   do   nothing   to   help   anyone   if   he   did.   “   whenever   anything   of   the   sort   is   done,   there   is   backlash.   are   you   prepared   to   handle   that   ?   ”   it’s   an   𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓   question,   one   he   can’t   afford   not   to   ask.   the   isle   was   changing,   auradon   was   changing   and   he   had   enough   people   in   nearby   circles   who   didn’t   totally   agree   with   those   changes.   the   number   of   those   against   progress   did   not   need   to   grow.

“   not   just   from   the   vks.   from   everyone.   ”   there   wasn’t   anything   to   give   him   a   reason   to   believe   that   anyone   in   auradon   would   be   so   angered   with   his   choices   that   they’d   RETALIATE,   but   one   could   never   be   too   sure   and   ben’s   experience   had   more   than   taught   him   that   complete   blind   trust   was   not   always   the   𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐔𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍.   he   was   open   to   as   many   as   he   could   be   but   that   didn’t   mean   he   was   never   suspicious   of   a   soul.

Oh. She likes the sound of that. Being able to rest her head and maybe get just a little bit of rest. She definitely needs it. Cass has been working hard the last few days, going over the final draft of a new book - so she’s been working around the clock to make sure that it’s ready, that there’s no mistakes. So she moves towards Bishop and settles her head down, stretching out her legs with a soft exhale. “Thank you.”

   “My job.” 

   Or, really, some approximation of it. Part of her job probably shouldn’t be crawling around the underbelly of the city at four in the morning, but someone was missing, and their leads were almost frozen they were so cold. 

   It wasn’t quite like Neoma to pull an all-nighter. It was a good deal less like Neoma to give up, though. 

   “It’s four o’clock in the morning, what are you doing?” She tries to smile. Part of her lips edge up on one side – and that’s as far as it’ll go. 

   She wraps her hand a bit tighter around Bjorn’s leash, metal fastenings turned icy in the weather. He stares up at Bishop with a dopey expression that she could never hope to imitate. 

   Not fair that looking so happy could come so effortless to him. 

   Well – at least she’s trying.

Who are your 3 most recent muses, and what drew you to them?

In order from newest-oldest, the most recent canon muses are:

- Dr. Paula Reyes (Deputy)

I wouldn’t have even watched this show if it wasn’t for @deputyxbishop​​ getting me into it. I watched it for their muse, and instantly fell in love with Paula’s character. From the very beginning, you can see the compassion and love radiating off of her. She’s a strong mother, wife, and, above all, a strong doctor. She’s the chief of trauma surgery, and she’s so determined to give her patients the best care possible. There are multiple episodes where you can watch her take the ‘do no harm’ oath and hold it dear. She really does believe it, and it leads her through life out of the hospital, as well. She’s also just so damn warm? She loves, and she loves fiercely. She’s willing to risk it all for her family, and that family just keeps growing the more that the show goes on. I will unashamedly say that my love for Paula comes from my love for the medical field, and how much I would have loved to know a Paula Reyes in real life. I really wish the show had gotten picked up for a second season, but I’m also super happy that I can take this amazing character and do amazing things with her regardless on if Fox thinks she’s good enough. Because they’re stupid, and she is. She totally is.

- Andy Herrera (Station 19)

I think the main thing that drew me to Andy was her strength. From the first crossover episode that she had with Grey’s Anatomy, you could tell how strong she was. The daughter of a respected fire captain, voluntarily running into burning buildings to save people, thinking almost nothing of the danger that her own life gets put into. It was also the first show that I saw with a strong Latina lead who wasn’t overtly sexualized. There was so much power in her and her lines in that first episode, and I gravitated towards her instantly. Her dynamic with her father reminds me of me and my dad, and I just found myself instantly wanting the best for her. While I disagree with some of the steps the writers have taken recently, I think she’s an incredibly important character and I really wanted to bring the heart of who she is onto the dash. 

- Nini Salazar-Roberts (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series)

@ahsterism​​ got me into this show and all of my ranting is her fault. Go blame Ash. ANYWAY, I grabbed a few other HSMTMTS characters before snagging Nini, and there was a part of me that really didn’t want to grab her at first? I’m always terrified of grabbing popular muses, especially after seeing all the Nini muses that popped up right after the show finished airing. But I think I decided to write her after the first couple episodes? I can’t remember the exact moment, but there was just something about her story that really stood out to me. Her determination stood out to me amongst everything. The fact that she’s tried out for every single production since she realized that she loved musicals, even though she’s been rejected countless times, it really spoke to me. She never gave up, and she chased her dreams down until she finally reached them. There’s something magical in that, watching the underdog come up and blow everyone away. Sure, I made up a few extra things along the way, but her story through the series is just so inspiring, I had to at least give her a try. 

TLDR
