Once again she'd surprised him. He'd expected his question to be met with the need of clothing or new bedding or some such domestic affair that he'd need to budget. Yet instead, she'd provided more evidence that she was exactly what Wano needed a Shogun's wife to be. A fact that had a small smile pulling at his lips. "Any of the retainers, myself included, would be honored to train Momonosuke in the art of the Samurai. As for Hiyori, do you have an instrument in mind that you think she should learn? I can seek out a teacher for her on your behalf while you settle in."
She'd only been in the country for a little less than a week, after all, and had barely taken any time to rest. Instead, she'd toured the city, visited the people, cared for her children, and was now reviewing the finances.

Toki hummed softly as she looked back over the books, nose wrinkling slightly as she saw just how badly they were in the red. It was understandable now, but it was still upsetting to see how badly they had to help the people. “Cleaning is an understatement to what needs to be done. Boiling water won’t remove this stain.” The current seated lord would be troublesome, he seemed to have embedded himself deeply into everything and was under the protection of Kaidou as well.
“You’re sweet to offer. I believe Momonosuke is finally old enough to start learning the finer aspects of being a samurai.” She smiled softly, tilting her head as she thought over her children. “Hiyori is still to young to learn the lessons yet, though I would enjoy if we could find a musician who can teach her.” The little one was already showing promise and she hoped to raise her to be a fine princess. “And then we can discuss weapons training. I’m a archer so I can teach them that.”

He couldn't help the way he blinked in surprise at how easily she caught onto the situation that they where in. Then relief washed through him. It was clear that Oden had found not only a beautiful wife but one that would balance him well. Providing him the strength in areas that he lacked and clearly one that knew how to ease him towards the right path so to speak. Hopefully, she'd have more luck than any of them had had thus far.
"Yes, we've been awaiting our Lord's return for a little cleaning to take place. Though he's never been much of a fan when it comes to cleaning." Choosing words that couldn't be used as incriminating for either of them, the habit from his time on the streets, he then added. "In the meantime, is there anything that you or your children require? I can ensure that we find a way to provide them."

“Taxes.” Toki hummed, looking over the numbers again. While she was stepped forward in time it seemed nothing truly ever changed. There were always people wanting to bleed those under them. As Denjiro explained what was happening and the choice that was made she nodded. “I see. Thank you for making that choice, the last thing we want is for the people to suffer.”
As he continued to speak she considered his words. The current steward did seem quiet happy nestled in the castle. “We will need to lance that tick won’t we?” Her voice held no venom, it was plain that it would be a fight. “Until that point I will work to ensure my husband realizes how serious this is. At the moment he wants to see the best in everyone so he is blind to what is happening.”
