2 and 9 for Ash'li! :3
2. What's your oc's orientation? (Romantic/sexual/platonic alterous ect) Do they have opinions about it? (answered) He is greysexual, poly and bi - the latter two being discoveries he made when he was twenty-one.
He wasn't interested in pursuing any relationships until he met Haurchefant, and was super caught out when he got to know him, wishing he knew anything about how to display his affection. Ash'li did manage to make a reciprocated move... not long before the Vault incident. He didn't start a solid relationship for a while after that.
In the future, he would get to know an adventurous Miqo Scion named F'liisha he'd met earlier during the Coils of Bahamut. It was around Stormblood that he realised she made him happy, too, and entered a relationship with her.
He would also find himself fond of G'raha, primarily Romatically - but also a little shy of his Praises. He would like to climb down from this pedestal Raha's put there before anything further happens between them, first.
9. Are there cultural or lore specific aspects to their identity? If applicable, does their species affect it?
Oops, I touched on this earlier without reading the questions.
If we look at Moon Keeper Miqo'te lore, it's said that the tribes are made up of two or three families that are matriarchal. Once boys hit a certain age, they go off to live with the bachelor tribes, and men are enjoyed in 'small doses.' Which... eh, maybe the hardcore traditional tribes are more conservative. : /
Ash'li being labelled as "Son Boy Allowed" did not affect his own identity, but it certainly made his views about gender norms and stereotypes more lax. Keeper Miqo are hunters, generally, and at first he viewed women as the stronger gender as the norm as a child because they did a lot of the hunting and fighting. Ashul (his mother) did her best to gently redirect that, and explain that any gender was capable of great strength, and that gender itself was a Whole Other Deal.
(also I refuse to believe there aren't lesbians among a predominantly female race. Same-sex stuff shouldn't be a big deal to them).
So culturally, I think Ash'li would have run into some Solid Ideas of What Traditionally Is - but he was born into a new-age family who taught him otherwise. I think the only thing that would have caught him out was being ace/demi when people kept talking about second or third partners.

Get to know you better tag
I was tagged by @spacerhapsody Thanks darling!
Favorite Colour: Purple.
Lipstick or chapstick: I love both, but if I really have to choose, then chapstick. I’d pretty much die without it XD
Top ships: Ah man, that’s always so difficult! Let’s see: Arthur/Eames (it’s @inceptiversary guys, go participate in all the events!), Jarry (@happyjarryholidays is on!), Taito (my first and forever OTP), Brian/Justin (I need to rewatch qaf again), Lure (that reminds me that there’s this fic I still need to write...), and probably 500 more that I’m forgetting XD (yes, watch me promo all the events in this “about me” post)
Last song: Das Leben ist schön - Sarah Connor (I never thought I’d say this, but I love her new album! Singing in German is such a good choice for her)
Last movie: Aladdin (And - completely unnecessary romatic subplot between the Genie and Jasmine’s handmaid aside - it really wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be XD Yes, it plays a lot on the nostalgia, but the songs are just that good, the costumes are amazing, and Jasmine is so pretty! I’m honestly surprised at how much I liked it.)
Currently reading: Still “City of Strife” by Claudie Arseneault and I love it! If you like fantasy and want a complex cast of LGBT characters, go read it! It has so much representation! Gay? Bi? Lesbian? You got it! Ace? Aro? Demi? But of course! Nonbinary? Genderfluid? Sure! Honestly, I’m so delighted and awed by how easily and seamlessly she fits in all the orientations! Go read it!)
tagging, if you feel like it: @haikyuumon @brightingales @unreliableunseelie @glasspunkart @csifan3 @book-rabbit @dreaminghigher
