BIO.

Demetria was born into a prestigious magical family in New York City and was raised by her parents, Vivian and Henry Whitaker who are respected alchemists and enchantment experts that work closely with Asphodel Institute. Demi grew up under intense pressure to excel in her magical studies and maintain the family’s esteemed reputation. Despite the expectations, the Whitaker household was loving and warm and Demetria was nurtured into becoming an outgoing and gregarious energy.

Also a naturally curious and adventurous spirit, it was easy for Demetria to find herself with groups of friends. And among one of the first she ever made was Jakob Ranström, becoming best friends in elementary school. They spent countless hours together and their bond was unbreakable, or so they thought.

During their sophomore year of high school, Jakob convinced Demi and a few friends to skip classes and hunt Redcaps in an abandoned building near the Gotham Grand. The expedition ended in tragedy when one of their friends lost their familiar and later took their own life. Jakob’s older siblings bribed Demetria's family to keep the incident a secret, something she has never known about. To protect her and distance her from the Ranström influence, they then sent her to a boarding school abroad.

Demetria's connection to her life in New York was forever changed, contact with friends drifting away into nothing. She rebuilt herself after the trauma of the attack, trying to shed layers of guilt and grief. Mourning the loss of a life, and the loss of the one she knew. When it was time for college, she returned to the states but steered clear of the city she grew up in. Her life began in California instead, and while feeling freed from her parents wishes, pursued an entirely different career than one within the magical world. Demetria modeled, mainly known as Demi Faye, traveling the world almost as if grief was right on her heels with every step she took.

During this time, she gradually saw herself reconnecting with old friends from New York. Although, their bond was never quite the same ever again. But, in the January of 2024, she received the news that her parents had been attacked. During a time of turmoil surrounding the institute and Syndicate, Vivian and Henry's memories of the incident and the timeframe around it had been wiped. Demi returned home as soon as she could, wanting to be near them and discover who could be behind their attack.

In the months since, Demi has been forced to face her past but she's as determined as ever to build a new life around old memories. As much as it's even possible. She began mentoring at Asphodel, mostly out of guilt to finally pick up the baton her parents wished her to years ago. Since the March of this year, a relationship blossomed between her and Sebastian Belcourt, along with her life now seamlessly blending with all of the faces of her past.
