El deseo, en el budismo, es causa de sufrimiento.
El deseo para Lacan hace aparecer al sujeto deseante y hace operativa la posibilidad del análisis psíquico; el deseo se considera así una necesidad de reconocimiento desde el Otro.
Una necesidad de reconocimiento a cierto nivel referido, la necesidad de reconocer-se como ser amado, deseado.
El deseo entonces, lo entendemos como un motor fundamental de lo humano.
El impulso por hacer aparecer al Otro, pero de acuerdo a una medida personal y subjetiva.
