Solilians — Klezmische Deluxe - Bring Them Home Now (I Heart Noise)
Tumblr media
Middle European klezmer intersects with cosmic Americana in these haunted drones. A steady patter of banjo and drums keep time, while floating drifts of nonverbal singing, guitar tone and synth washes dissolve it into eternity. Solilians, an expansive ensemble based in Long Island, couches art about the Jewish experience in the vernacular of Appalachian folk. Strike a tuning fork in one tradition, and the other rings in sympathy here, finding commonality in melancholy, long shape-shifting tones and spiritual epiphany.
Klezmische Deluxe - Bring Them Home Now is, as the title implies, a plea for hostages still trapped in Gaza, and however you feel about Israel’s annihilation of Palestinians,* the Jewish prisoners’ situation has lately turned even more dire. So, while Solilians’ musical output has always tended to the otherworldly, it is even more sorrowful and spectral now.
But all that aside, it is remarkable how the two genres meet. In “Shema,” Benyomin Malkin plucks out a mournful porch blues on the banjo while Shoshi, one of two singers, croons a Middle Eastern dirge. But as it goes, the banjo cadence takes on a souk-like shimmer, while the vocals tap the desolation of mountain hollers. Geography shifts under your feet, and an unreal world emerges, part West Virginia, part Israel.
“Old Schmeckled Hen” is a contradance viewed through a backwards mirror, its heel kicking melody buried under cloudy penumbras of tone. You can hear evanescent references to shoegaze, even drone-y pop like Stereolab in its soft, indefinite unfolding, but also the righteous regularity of country dance music. “Klezmiche” unspools translucent sheets of ambient sound. A hard drum beat pushes it forward through pastel colored silks. Despite its klezmer-adjacent title, there is hardly a trace of ethnic reference in the whole thing. Not so, “Avineu Malkeinu” with twanging, oddly harmonized banjo and ululating vocals; blindfolded, you’d nail it as middle eastern, despite the Americana instrumentation. Yet as these two traditions slip and slide over one another, they find unlikely points of agreement. The minor-key harmonies that make murder ballads so heart-wrenching also make Solilians Jewish-influenced sounds more affecting. Both grew out of deeply held religious beliefs, isolation and poverty, and though the trees were planted far apart, their branches twine together here.

What is the Hot Rod Power Tour, and why should you be part of it?
Hot Rod Power Tour just released their schedule for the 2024 season.
As a car enthusiast who drives their cars instead of having them as garage queens, there are a couple things you need to experience at least once with your vehicle. There are many rallies across the United States, examples like the Tour deLux Rally, GForce Rally, Savage Rally, Corsa America Rally, Gold Rush Rally, The Off-Road Revolution for off-roading trucks, and many more, which we have a list…

Hello hi hi! The manga set is here.
In this set you will find a Maxis Mix set of posters, merchandising, and, of course, Manga! I don't want to imply that this is a "Maxis Match" set since the Artwork can collide with maxis style, but text was transcribed to simlish! The only Exceptions are the Magazines and a few posters of "Pair Posters" file, that still has Kanji and hiragana/katakana.
I used different versions from different places as base, including Japan, Latin America, USA and Germany. As the logos were made in simlish, there will be differences with how they look irl, as well as back covers and spines. Finding some backcovers or spines was challenging, so you might spot some differences with their real counterpart. Each manga is priced §10 and are grouped in 2, 3, 8 and 12 books in single tankoubon format, and §20 for double B6 grouped in 6 books.
---
You will notice a box with 2 swatches of My Hero Academia figures, for them i used the figures in this set (x) from FlirtyGhoul. I highly encourge you to download their set if you have a beefy computer (since the meshes are extremely high poly!) and if you are into Alpha cc.

Sabrina Carpenter - Feather 2023
"Feather" is a song by former Disney Channel (Girl Meets World) actress Sabrina Carpenter from Emails I Can't Send Fwd, the deluxe edition of her fifth studio album. The album is themed around drafted emails and messages Sabrina wrote but did not send. Music magazine Rolling Stone summarized the music video for "Feather" as: "Carpenter finds a middle ground between Jennifer's Body and Final Destination, with a pop girl twist, as she lets the universe take care of eradicating the men who followed her down the street, only to then be hit by a truck they were too distracted to see coming." "Feather" only got a total of 46,6% yes votes. :(
