Deltathraaaaash

While Susie’s vocal style is mostly inspired by Tom Angelripper, her actual bass playing takes more after Steve Di Giorgio, and as such she almost never uses a pick. Finger picking isn’t easy, especially at the speeds she plays, but she’s built up the skill, and it turns out claws make for some sick playing!

The band’s lyrics usually go one of two ways. They either relate to the Dark World in some way, or they’re pretty typical thrash metal sociopolitical commentary. The more fantastical Dark World themed lyrics tend to be Susie’s doing, while the more serious and politically charged lyrics are usually written by Kris.

The largest show they’ve ever played was in front of just over a couple hundred people, opening for another band at a small open air event. Stage fright almost killed Kris, but Susie and Ralsei pulled them through and it ended up being one of their favorite gigs!

Ralsei, bless his poor soul, tries to make sure the other two eat right and take care of themselves, and has honed his cooking skills a good amount. Unfortunately for him, while Susie isn’t one to turn down food, her go-to meal consists of pizza and beer, while Kris, with their voracious sweet-tooth, is arguably worse.

Deltathrash Headcanons

(Yes I’m seriously doing this, yes I’m calling it that, no you cannot stop me. Are they headcanons if it’s my AU? I’m not sure how this works help)

The band is just called Deltarune original I know

They’re thrash metal first and foremost, with Susie perfectly bringing her raw thrash power to the table, but they do branch out. Kris is a great melodic guitarist, they can make that bad boy sing all day, and I imagine Ralsei to be a very energetic and progressive drummer!

Susie’s favorite band is Sodom, and she’s styled herself very similarly to their frontman. Kris listens to FAR too much Children of Bodom for their own good honestly. And Ralsei may be in a thrash metal band, but he’s 100% a Rush FANATIC

Kris and Susie are A Thing, because I’m lov those two, fight me

Ralsei can really beat the H*CK outta those drums despite his decidedly soft appearance

Toriel is supportive yet stupidly concerned about Kris’ safety while doing shows, while Asgore is extremely enthusiastic about Kris being in a band

Susie has a SICK VAN that probably has a cool wizard airbrushed on the sides

I apologize for my bad everything

I wanted to just draw Jevil but then it turned into this thing! It was pretty fun to do even if I suck at thinking of song titles, and logo design, and various other things!

It’s 4AM and I can’t focus enough to draw, so have some HC!

They’re all probably somewhere in their early/mid 20s at this point, with Susie being the oldest and Ralsei the youngest, and Kris in the middle.

Susie is the only one with a driver’s license, as Ralsei technically may or may not exist legally, and Kris is afraid of driving.

Kris sometimes lends their talents to Asriel’s religious ska band, despite not being religious or really all that into ska. But it lets them spend time with their brother, who they love and don’t see very often!

They have a shared apartment for use when they aren’t on the road, which, given their current small time status, is fairly often. The walls are covered in band posters, the wailing of guitars is always audible, and despite Kris and Ralsei’s best efforts, it tends to stay a mess. Noise complaints are frequent.

Kris hasn’t forgotten their mad piano skills, and is determined to convince Susie to let them break out the keyboard for at least one song. As of now they have made very little headway.

asdwf seriously tho it looked like fun so I made one!

This is Ronnie, he is a kind lad that enjoys loud music and finding increasingly creative ways to get himself seriously injured!

I’VE GOT MORE

Aside from bass, Susie sings lead. Her vocals are very harsh and gravely, fitting well with the band’s generally very aggressive music. On a few lighter songs though, Ralsei occasionally hops in to provide clean vocals! Kris almost never even opens their mouth while shredding, but has been convinced on exactly one (1) song to lay out some killer death growls

They are a Struggling Small Time(TM) band and haven’t made a big name yet, mostly just doing local gigs and selling albums online

Songwriting is split fairly evenly among everyone, but lyrics are typically either Susie or Kris’ doing, because Ralsei just is NOT cut out to write metal lyrics bless his pacifistic heart

Kris is generally considered to have the final say in most matters, essentially serving as a manager, but Susie and Ralsei always handle the talking

More Deltathrash

They tend to have to travel a decent distance to play shows. The one time they tried to do a show in Hometown, hardly anyone came, just Catti, who genuinely enjoyed the music, Noelle, who was just being supportive, and... Sans, for some reason?

Susie’s van is TRICKED OUT. There’s a mini fridge, a kick ass sound system, sleeping room for those long road trips, and best of all, heated seats hell yeah

Ralsei doesn’t quite get why everyone asks him to say “Sharon!” after he introduces himself as the Dark Prince

Susie designed the band’s logo, then had some patches made, which all three now sport proudly on their vests. She’d like to get the merch rolling, but Kris has to remind her they can’t really afford anything more than printing a few labels on t-shirts yet

They all yearn for the day they can open for one of the greats, but for now they’re pretty content riding around doing small shows for fairly dedicated underground crowds

Trying to draw an entirely patched out battle jacket would ruin my hand but I made a partial attempt at least!

The patches will probably change constantly, but one thing is for certain! Susie is a thrash machine, 100%!

Does the band ever do Rush covers?

100%! They started off doing covers in a garage before working on any of their own material, and Ralsei is probably the biggest Rush fan on the planet. Freewill was the first song he ever got completely down, and the band breaks it out at shows every now and then to warm up, among other random songs!
