I needed to write Delta because @zuzuelectricbugaloo inspired me.

Delta impatiently taps his fingers on the table. Grimacing as Epic slowly rewired his arm. He overtrained himself again and blew a fuse. The wiring is connected to the combined soul of his. So, it was inevitable that this would happen.

Cross enters the room, holding a tray of cookies. A happy smile on his face. Maneuvering the draconic body around the workshop with minimal stumbling. “Here’s the cookies!” Setting down the tray in front of the duo.

The chimera turns away from them, attention drawn to something else in the shop.

Delta’s mouth drops open at the sight of Cross. He knew he had disappeared for a while. But he wasn’t expecting this drastic of a transformation. Probably should have questioned Epic more about what he meant “new body”.

A orange blush covers his cheekbones, “You failed to inform me that Cross is even more attractive.”

Such a blunt statement from the stoic Delta causes Epic to glance up from the arm. He blinks a few times to process what he heard.

“I didn’t figure ya out to be a furry of all things, bruh.” His tone is teasing. Wiggling his bonebrows at the other.

“Silence…” Delta grits his teeth in embarrassment. Epic chuckles in response.

Cross hums a tune as he settles down at Epic’s side. Grabbing a cookie to nibble on it. “Epic failed to mention that my hearing has also improved.”

Delta immediately short circuits and slams his skull onto the table. A loud whirring of his internal fan picks up, signaling that he is rebooting.

Epic finishes the rewiring and closes the panel on Delta’s robotic arm. He leans against Cross, nuzzling into the soft feathers. A content sigh leaves him.

“Is he going to he okay, dude?” Cross drapes his arms over Epic’s shoulders. Nuzzling the hooded skull with a pleased purr.

“Mhm.” Epic grabs Cross’ hand, pressing his teeth against the delicate bone. This earns him a happy chirp and more nuzzling from his best friend.

Both were unaware that despite rebooting Delta could still hear their conversation.
