Dopo il voto, al via la corsa ai vertici delle istituzioni europee

Inizia la corsa a Bruxelles per i principali incarichi delle Istituzioni europee dopo il voto degli elettori. Una corsa che si avvia con tensioni - non nuove - tra il presidente del Consiglio europeo, Charles Michel, e la presidente della Commissione, Ursula von der Leyen, candidata del PPE per un secondo mandato. Secondo fonti di Bruxelles, Michel non la vorrebbe alla cena informale di lunedì prossimo (17 giugno) a Bruxelles per discutere del dossier altamente politico. Dopo il voto, la corsa ai vertici delle istituzioni europee Essendo lei in carica, Michel, il cui mandato scade a fine novembre e anche il suo ruolo è in discussione, preferirebbe che i capi di Stato e di Governo ne discutano in sua assenza per avere un clima più aperto. Von der Leyen non è d'accordo. La sua portavoce, dalla sala stampa del Berlaymont, ha dichiarato che "essendo lei membro del Consiglio europeo ci si aspetta che partecipi". Insomma, vuole un posto al tavolo. Anche chi voleva anticipare i negoziati a margine del Summit del G7 in Puglia è stato frenato. Al Summit saranno presenti i big dei Ventisette: Italia, Francia e Germania, oltre a Michel e von der Leyen. Alla ricerca di una maggioranza "Gli accordi presi in passato nei G7 o G20 hanno creato più tensioni che soluzioni perché la rappresentanza è limitata. Il momento per discutere dei top jobs è la cena di lunedì dove saranno presenti tutti i leader", ha precisato un alto funzionario dell'Unione europea che lavora alla preparazione della cena dei leader. Intanto i partiti continuano a fare i conti. Negli ultimi dati pubblicati dal Parlamento europeo sulla nuova composizione dell'emiciclo, la maggioranza Ursula si ferma a 400 seggi (su 720 membri): 186 PPE; 135 S&D e 79 Renew. Nella legislatura uscente era 417 (su 705 membri): 176 PPE; 139 S&D e 102 Renew. Per quanto riguarda gli altri gruppi: ECR diventa quarto gruppo con 73 seggi (da 69); ID 58 da 49; Verdi 53 da 71; La Sinistra 36 (da 37); i non-iscritti sono 45 e dai nuovi partiti 55. Dai nuovi partiti e dai non iscritti sono attesi altri seggi a favore della maggioranza, ma per dormire sonni tranquilli Ursula von der Leyen ha bisogno comunque di allargare la maggioranza ai Verdi oppure all'ECR (la maggioranza assoluta è 361 seggi). Dal PPE, il segretario generale del partito, Thanasis Bakolas, ha già chiarito che "non ci saranno accordi formali o istituzionalizzati con Giorgia Meloni". Per i Verdi, invece, la porta sembra aprirsi. Ma questo si vedrà nei prossimi giorni. La corsa per i commissari Dalla convocazione della prima plenaria all'elezione del presidente della commissione, ci sono vari passaggi che i nuovi eurodeputati dovranno affrontare per riprendere l'attività legislativa. In parallelo parte la corsa per i commissari. Il primo Paese a farsi avanti è la Lettonia, che ha riconfermato per un terzo mandato Valdis Dombrovskis, attuale vice presidente esecutivo con delega all'Economia. I liberali vorrebbero ottenere il ruolo di Alto rappresentante per la Politica estera, con il primo tra i papabili il premier belga dimissionario, Alexander De Croo. Farnesina: l’Italia stanzia 8 milioni per aiuti umanitari ad Haiti. Nel quadro dell'impegno internazionale a favore della popolazione di Haiti, su impulso del vicepremier e Ministro degli Affari Esteri, Antonio Tajani, il Vice Ministro degli Affari Esteri, Edmondo Cirielli, ha firmato il 22 maggio un pacchetto di delibere per erogare aiuti umanitari per 8 milioni di euro destinati a interventi delle Nazioni Unite e della Croce Rossa Internazionale per affrontare la grave situazione umanitaria del Paese. Metà del contributo italiano viene destinato alla FAO a sostegno della sicurezza alimentare della popolazione, attraverso l'acquisto e la distribuzione ai contadini di sementi e sacchi di fertilizzanti, nonché per l'erogazione agli allevatori di mangimi e di materiali per la costruzione di allevamenti avicoli. Le rimanenti risorse vengono invece destinate al Women's Peace Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) e al Comitato Internazionale della Croce Rossa (CICR) e permetteranno, rispettivamente, interventi per il rafforzamento dei diritti e del ruolo delle donne e delle bambine e dell'accesso e assistenza umanitaria in aree di Haiti - a partire dalla capitale Port-Au-Prince -, interessate da alti livelli di violenza. Oltre al citato contributo, e a conferma della priorità che rivestono l'America Latina e i Caraibi, il Governo italiano si accinge ad assicurare risorse al Trust Fund ONU per l'imminente dispiegamento ad Haiti della forza di polizia multinazionale autorizzata dal Consiglio di Sicurezza ONU. Inoltre, attraverso il Centro di eccellenza dell'Arma dei Carabinieri per le Unità di polizia di stabilità di Vicenza (CoESPU), l'Italia assicurerà l'addestramento di ufficiali di polizia keniani che verranno successivamente inviati ad Haiti. Com’è lo stato di salute delle democrazie occidentali? Pessimo. O forse peggio. In Italia solo il 24% dei cittadini sono soddisfatti di come vanno le cose contro il 51% di insoddisfatti. Ma non è che all’estero la situazione vada meglio. In Francia i giudizi positivi sono il 29%, nel Regno Unito il 27%, negli Usa il 20%. Solo in Svezia — su 7 nazioni (sono comprese oltre a quelle già citate, anche Polonia e Croazia) coinvolte in un sondaggio Ipsos — la maggioranza dei cittadini, il 58%, è soddisfatta. E se già il quadro è a tinte fosche, la percezione che si ha degli ultimi cinque anni conduce a un’ulteriore deriva.

In Italia solo l’8% pensa che il funzionamento della democrazia sia migliorato (per il 49% è rimasto uguale, per il 39% peggiorato). […] Il peggioramento sembra più evidente […]  in Francia (73%), negli Stati Uniti (70%), nel Regno Unito (61%). A spulciare le motivazioni alla base dei giudizi colpisce come venga percepito il sistema economico: quasi tre italiani su quattro (il 72%, il dato più alto dei Paesi considerati) sono concordi nel sostenere che funzioni a beneficio dei ricchi e potenti, con il 54% dei nostri connazionali che ritiene che la politica sia anzitutto al loro servizio (il dato è al 68% nel Regno Unito, al 66 in Croazia e al 64 negli Usa).

Ne emerge un forte clima di sfiducia con quasi due italiani su tre (62%) che sostengono di non avere influenza nel processo decisionale del nostro Paese (in Svezia è il 31%, negli Usa il 29%). I cittadini convinti di poter influenzare la situazione votando sono il 55% in Italia e negli Stati Uniti, mentre la cifra vola al 77% in Svezia, al 75% in Polonia e al 71% in Francia.

«Un quadro tetro? Certamente, ma si possono cogliere anche alcuni segnali di speranza. I principi democratici di fondo “resistono”: in tutti i Paesi (Italia inclusa) prevale l’idea che l’essenza della politica (e il compito dei leader politici) sia la ricerca del compromesso piuttosto che l’imposizione di una visione di parte. Viene quindi chiaramente bocciata l’opzione “leaderistica”», commenta Andrea Scavo, direttore di ricerca Ipsos.

E in effetti, anche in Italia l’arte del compromesso ha la meglio. […] da noi […] Il 37% preferisce un leader che si attenga ai propri principi contro il 44% che apprezza di più la virtù di saper mediare. In Francia, il rapporto è 29%-61%, in Polonia addirittura 21%-68%.

A onor del vero, i giudizi migliorano se si guarda il rapporto con la politica locale (mentre è ai minimi con Onu, Nato e G7). Il livello di soddisfazione cresce quasi ovunque (in Italia è al 37%, in Croazia solo il livello è molto basso, al 19%). […]

Michele Ferrero, dal Piemonte al mondo

Li vediamo ogni giorno, al bar, negli scaffali dei supermercati e nei negozi, sono i prodotti della Ferrero, ma chi era l’uomo che ebbe la felice intuizione di creare un impero dolciario, in quella zona del Piemonte che è la provincia di Alba? Michele Ferrero nacque il 25 aprile 1925 a Dogliani, piccolo comune di circa cinquemila abitanti in provincia di Cuneo ad una trentina di chilometri da Alba, dove la sua famiglia gestiva un rinomato caffè per poi provare a tentare la fortuna,  negli anni Trenta, prima a Torino e poi nell’Africa delle colonie. Successivamente Pietro, padre di Michele,  aprì nel 1942, ad Alba in via Rattazzi, un laboratorio di pasticceria dove cominciò a sperimentare la creazione di nuove golosità, come la Pasta Gjanduia, che nel 1946 fu il primo vero prodotto della Ferrero, mentre la madre, Piera, gestiva un rinomato negozio specializzato nelle dolcezze locali. Michele fin dall'inizio delle attività della Ferrero collaborò  coi famigliari, anche se alla morte del padre, avvenuta il 2 marzo 1949, il timone dell'azienda passò nelle mani dello zio paterno e della madre. Dopo la scomparsa dello zio nel 1957 fu Michele a prendere le redini di quello che ormai era diventato un impero, per la precisione era il quarto al mondo nella area dei prodotti dolciari. Negli anni Sessanta Michele creò nel 1964 la Nutella, la deliziosa crema al cioccolato, e nel decennio successivo fu la volta di  Kinder Cioccolato, che ancora oggi sono il simbolo della merenda per i bambini italiani. L’instancabile Michele allargò all’estero l’impero della Ferrero grazie all’apertura di nuovi stabilimenti, tra cui quello ormai leggendario in Germania in una cittadina dell'Assia, dove si produsse per la prima volta la delicata pralina Mon Cheri, oltre a pensare all'apertura verso il mercato statunitense. Negli anni Settanta la Ferrero, grazie a un forte utilizzo degli spot in tv e sulla carta, consolidò la propria posizione quale leader di mercato e fu uno dei maggiori sponsor nel corso di grosse manifestazioni sportive e lanciò il the freddo al limone Estathe e i Tic Tac, caramelle da succhiare al gusto di menta. Con l’inizio degli anni Ottanta debuttarono prodotti come le praline  Ferrero Rocher e Pocket Coffee, e la merendina Kinder Brioss, divenuti ben presto famosissimi. Di Michele Ferrero divennero leggendarie le visite in incognito nei supermercati dove, come un cliente qualsiasi, verificava personalmente le condizioni dei prodotti firmati dalla sua azienda. Ma il grande imprenditore era noto anche per la sua capacità di lavoro, dove il giorno preferito per le riunioni era la domenica e amava dire spesso la frase  Vag ’n chimica, cioè Vado nei laboratori,  dove passava le notti in camice bianco con i collaboratori più stretti ad assaggiare cioccolato e a provare decine di varianti diverse del nuovo prodotto da lanciare sul mercato. Devotissimo alla Madonna di Lourdes, Michele conobbe nella sua lunga vita Aldo Moro, che il 16 settembre 1967 visitò la Ferrero, ma rifiuto anche l’invito del ministro Renato Altissimo di rilevare negli anni Ottanta la Motta e l’Alemagna, come in passato aveva fatto con un invito simile per la Perugina, inoltre nel 1994 declinò l’offerta di Silvio Berlusconi di andare al G7 di Napoli in rappresentanza dell’imprenditoria italiana. Forbes in quegli anni attribuì a Michele Ferrero, che dal 1997 passa la conduzione dell'azienda ai figli Pietro e Giovanni, un patrimonio stimato in 17 miliardi di dollari, facendolo di fatto risultare il più ricco uomo italiano. Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, allora Presidente della Repubblica Italiana, il 2 giugno 2005 conferì all'imprenditore il titolo Cavaliere di Gran Croce, per il suo impegno civile e sociale. Nell'aprile 2011 Michele perse il figlio Pietro, morto prematuramente in Sudafrica all'età di 48 anni, e l’erede dell’azienda divenne il secondogenito Giovanni. Michele Ferrero morì a 89 anni il 14 febbraio 2015, nell’ospedale di Montecarlo intitolato alla principessa Grace di Monaco. Read the full article

Milano, controlli intensificati per il G7 e Salone del Mobile: 5 borseggiatori arrestati dalla Polizia di Stato. La Polizia di Stato di Milano nei giorni scorsi, a seguito dei controlli intensificati disposti dal Questore Petronzi, ha arrestato cinque cittadini romeni di 43, 48, 28, 27 e 23 anni, con precedenti di polizia, per dei borseggi commessi in zona centro e alla Fiera di Rho. Gli agenti della 6° Sezione della Squadra Mobile milanese, in servizio per il contrasto ai reati predatori disposti nelle stazioni metropolitane e sui mezzi di superficie, verso le ore 10.30 di venerdì 12 aprile sono stati avvisati dal personale ATM della presenza di un ragazzo che si aggirava con fare sospetto nel mezzanino della metro Buonarroti. In base alle descrizioni fornite, i poliziotti hanno individuato il 23enne in via Michelangelo Buonarroti che ha gettato un portafoglio per terra – recuperato -, dirigendosi poi in metro. Gli agenti hanno fermato il giovane all’interno del mezzanino, trovandolo in possesso di 205 euro. E’ stato arrestato per furto aggravato in quanto attraverso la visione delle telecamere di videosorveglianza aveva precedentemente rubato a un cittadino italiano di 80 anni mentre usciva dalla metropolitana. Intorno alle ore 14.30, di martedì 16 aprile i poliziotti della 6° Sezione della Squadra Mobile milanese, in servizio presso la Fiera di Rho in occasione dell’esposizione “Salone del mobile” hanno arresto due cittadini romeni di 48 e 43 anni per furto aggravato in concorso. In un locale di ristorazione all’interno della fiera, mentre la vittima, un cittadino italiano di 66 anni, era intenta a consumare un pasto, hanno rubato i soldi presenti nel portafoglio della sua giacca che era poggiata sulla sedia. Immediatamente bloccati dagli agenti che hanno assistito alla scena sono stati trovati in possesso di 150 euro in contanti appena sottratti. Il 43enne era stato arrestato per lo stesso reato nel 2019 sempre alla Fiera di Rho in occasione dello stesso evento. Mercoledì 17 aprile alle 17.30, in via Matteotti gli agenti della 6° Sezione della Squadra Mobile di Milano hanno arrestato due cittadini romeni di 28 e 27 anni per tentato furto aggravato in concorso. Mentre il 27enne faceva da palo, il 28 enne si è avvicinato a una cittadina cinese di 40 anni, a Milano in vacanza per la Fiera del Mobile, che era seduta fuori un bar di corso Matteotti, e, con il trucco del “foglio” ha rubato il suo cellulare che era sul tavolino. Come vede l'estate italiana?

«È la stagione dello scioglimento delle maschere. Dopo nove mesi di governo abbiamo capito che la premier Meloni in realtà è una democristiana. Da Orbàn è passata a Von der Leyen e da Trump a Biden».

È così un male per l'Italia?

«No, ma è la cifra della politica attuale. E non solo in Italia: anche Biden accoglie Meloni per avere un appoggio sull'Ucraina».

C'è un'evoluzione della destra italiana?

«Serve tempo. Il potere è come una patata. Se la tiri fuori dalla terra ha radici lunghissime. Ed è quel radicamento a rappresentare davvero il potere. Abbiamo visto tante patate, Renzi, Salvini, Conte… ma sono finite male perché prive di radici. […] Il Pd anche se perde le elezioni si giova ancora di certe sue radici. E se al vertice della Rai è arrivato Roberto Sergio, grande democristiano del cerchio di Casini, è perché viene da lontano.

Questo è il potere vero, mentre la destra fa solo confusione: il premierato, le riforme, il Pnrr. Senza radici si va a sbattere».

Andrà a sbattere?

«Difficile dirlo, ma anche facile: i problemi maggiori sono all'interno della maggioranza. Da Salvini che fa opposizione alla Meloni, ai Berlusconi che si interrogano sull'utilità di Forza Italia. Basta poco per far cadere la premier».

Lei crede alla teoria del Berlusconi mafioso?

«[…] l'unica prova a riguardo l'ho letta nel libro di Ilda Boccassini. Penso che Berlusconi da immobiliarista abbia ricevuto fondi oscuri quando le banche non glieli davano. D'altra parte anche oggi i soldi della mafia da qualche parte finiscono».

È l'estate della Puglia come meta di vacanza?

«Sì, vanno tutti là. La premier ci vuole fare il G7, è la regione del sottosegretario Mantovano, del ministro Fitto e della masseria di Bruno Vespa».

E il Twiga a Marina di Pietrasanta?

«Con i prezzi che fa in molti ci stanno alla larga, e poi ci si trova la Santanchè. Per i renziani però evidentemente non è un problema».

A Capalbio non batte più la bandiera rossa?
