#defenestrations of Prague my beloved

For all the people in the notes speaking about that one or two defenestrations in Prague - WE HAD THREE!! The first one was in 1419 by hussites and sparked the hussites wars, the second was in 1483 and led to Kutná Hora’s peace (Kutnohorský mír) and the third one was in 1618 and sterted 30 years war. But the second one for some reason (probably because it sperked peace and not decades of wars even though you could argue that as far as defenestrations go it was one of the more succesful - I mean, if I remember correctly it was done simultatenously from not one but two townhalls, people who should have died actually did AND the responsible party got what they wanted which is better then you can say about the third one) is often forgotten even in the Czechia so the defenestration of Prague in 1618 is often incorrectly known as “the second defenestration of Prague” even though it’s not. Like I’m pretty sure the relative succes of the second one was one of the reason why the protestants nobles in 1618 chose it as a valiable strategy to show protest, get the emperor accept their demands and get away with it. They were wrong but well... shit happens (pun intended, although that was mostly protestants’ response to catolics’ whole - “they were saved by angels” thing and in reality they probably survived because the terraine was less flat then today so their straight fall wasn’t actually all that long and the just kinda roll the rest of the way down).

"defenestrate" is one of my favorite words in the english language because it's just so damn specific. like there's only one situation you'll ever be able to use it in but you might as well be prepared just in case.

Rating: Teen+, Length: 1787 words Vamp Dolce by violethamster - A 1950s Italy caper. Because that flashback was divine and we need more. This one is perfect. Rating: Teen+, Length: 2120 words Special mention to: Magpies in the Morning by Tasseomancy - Season 4, Drusilla senses Spike's predicament and makes a deal with the Scoobies. Tasseomancy has an absolutely gorgeous Dru voice. This one starts out Spike/Drusilla but transitions to Spike/Dusilla/Buffy. Rating: Mature, Length: 16,709 words In Imbolic by duh i write - After Angelus leaves, Darla's feeling sentimental. Darla pov. There's Sprusilla and shades of Darla/Dru/Spike. Beautifully bittersweet. Rating: Teen+, Length: 1616 words Set Off Like Geese by Hannah - All Human AU. Not something you see very often for Sprusilla. I very rarely read AH fic but Hannah does it wonderfully with great sensitivity and a gorgeous command of language. Rating: G, Length: 107,172 words
