GOOD MORNING WORLD! So much to say and to update folks on but we wanted to start and say THANK YOU for joining us! The New Moon Mycology Summit is in fact organized by a COLLECTIVE of people dedicated to Mycology, Justice and the Earth. Our collective, The Mycelium Underground is a group of people, decentralized and located throughout the continent. We volunteer and devote our time and energy to making the #newmoonmycologysummit and its sister events like our #mycelialgatherings possible and vibrant. This is not a one person show. It takes the contribution of all our members to make this possible. We are so grateful for everyone of our members and we take honor in our process. We feel the energy surrounding this event and this soon to be convergence of people is a coming together for a better world we NEED to see happen. Like the #mycelium in the soil, we share and connect information, building up and strengthening bonds that maybe need to be fed and watered with more love and light. We are dedicated to bridging topics, people and ideas, as does the Mycelium. Our collective, desired more after years of attending other myco events and bio centric gatherings, we felt it was time to connect disciplines that crossed beyond the fungal realm. We don’t live in a bubble. What happens in Washington effects what happens in our forests. The injustice on these stolen lands, at the border, in our schools, in the streets and more are connected. There is no border, the Mycelium does not recognize them, it still continues to feed, water and nourish its community. We want that too. We want to give space for growth and life and love. Unite in Support of Ellen Gerhart by ERIK MCGREGOR Via Flickr: Huntingdon, PA - On May 9, 2018, attorneys for Texas-based Energy Transfer Partners subsidiary Sunoco attempted to make the case at the Huntingdon County Common Pleas Court that longtime Huntingdon County resident Ellen Gerhart violated a court-ordered injunction while opposing construction of the Mariner East 2 Pipeline on her land. If convicted, Ellen could be sent to jail for up to six months without trial and be forced to pay unlimited restitution to the company. This legal bullying adds insult to injury for the Gerhart family, who already have had their land seized and destroyed via eminent domain to enable Sunoco to build the Mariner East 2 natural gas liquids pipeline through their property. The Gerharts have never given Sunoco permission to enter their property. The Gerharts have levied a federal civil rights lawsuit against Energy Transfer Partners, private security contractor TigerSwan, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Huntingdon County Sheriff Department, and a creator of a faux-grassroots Facebook page called PA Progress over continuous harassment the family has faced since deciding to oppose the pipeline project. In advance of the hearing, the Gerhart family and other Pennsylvania residents impacted by the Mariner East 2 Pipeline will speak at a press conference at the Huntingdon County Courthouse. It's not always bout mushrooms It's about all the creatures. That we don't see or hear or know of. Never seen this one before. I visited a friends farm this weekend. They have lived there for 20 years, their (billionaire)landlord that sold them the property and still owns the adjacent 300+ acres of forest behind them decides to sell the for "forest generation" aka clear cutting. I heard hawks and owl screaming as their homes were torn down for profit. Millions of life forms gone because some one who already has everything they need, wants more. I felt powerless.
