Ok let’s start with this. I’ve been seeing a lot of stuff about the Deerlottie situation. I felt it wasn’t my place to speak because me and him were not close by any means. But he was my mutual for a bit after I started this page. He was a big inspiration and was a nice source of representation for the transgender community in the yj community. It hurts to see people still trying to make up excuses for everything so i’m speaking up now.

He did not deserve any of the transphobia he experienced nor does anyone ever. I make it publicly known that I am a trans man on my page, and will not tolerate any of that shit on my account. If you have or ever have thought doing transphobic bs or think harassing ppl is ok, block me. Simple as that.

Now onto people trying to excuse the actions of the people involved.

It doesn’t matter if you didn’t like his content. It does not matter if you thought what he posted was weird or something you PERSONALLY don’t like. You do not have to like every single thing a person writes, I am not familiar with all of his works but am I aware of the controversial ones he’s made in the past due to the recent events. I don’t excuse them nor agree with each one but still I feel a natural response is to scroll or unfollow and move on with your day. For your personal wellbeing as well as everyone else’s. I did not personally like everything he’s posted but a good portion of his work I did, and that’s OK.

Using transphobia just because you don’t like or agree with someone is just as transphobic as yelling slurs at a stranger end of story.

and for the ppl who r saying “he’s an adult he’ll get over it” y’all are WEIRDOS. Everyone has fucking feelings no matter your age. Josh’s account was 18+ and that was very clear. Most of the people i’ve seen using that excuse are 16-17… Any one that went on his account underage or not and are excusing the hate because he’s in college and should “get over it”…. block me.

Serious talk.

So I haven't been active on Tumblr for a while now, studying for exams and all, and I come on here, waiting to see some posts from one of my favourites mots, deerlottie, and see that he has deactivated his account due to some arsehole begin transophobic on his inbox. I don't usually do these types of posts but this needs to be talked about.

I want you to know that you are an awful human begin. There's no other way to put it. You are a genuinely awful person and I hope that all the pain you caused deerlottie comes back to you.

You have no idea how lucky you are.

Do you even know how horrible it is to be born in a body that doesn't feel right? That doesn't feel like yours? I had a boyfriend who was transexual and I saw in his eyes everyday the pain of not begin able to pass, of not begin able to feel like himself. It is a pain that we cisgendered people will never know and you have no fucking right telling someone that they are wrong for begin transexual. You do not know how lucky you are.

We as humans want to put ourselves into the world, to seek people like us, and art is the world's most ancient form of expression. It's natural we put ourselves into characters we like, whether thats by gender or even personality. For you to hate a demographic of people so much that you bully someone out of a lovley community just for the way they headcanoned some FICTIONAL characters is diabolical.

They are not real.

We all loved deerlottie and their headcanons made people feel good about themselves and represented their struggles, both sexually and socially.

Deerlottie, if you see this, which I doubt you will because you've probably left tumblr for good, I want you to know that you are loved. That we miss you and hope you will come back, that it's okay if you won't and we understand that this kind of hate could very well made someone quit their blog. We love you and we hope you will come back.

And for anyone out there, I want you all to know that my blog is and will always be welcome for trans people. I will always try my best to portray with accuracy your experiences, wheter that's reflected on the reader or on the yj characters. I will always welcome you.

Anon, I hope you will understand that your actions have hurt someone. Not a silly image on a godforsaken app, but a real human begin. You made someone quit something that they loved. Next time you want to be mean to another person, though, don't go anonymus. Show your face.

Transphobia is not okay and just because you don’t agree with trans headcannons doesn’t validate your shitty behaviour and mindset, and I’m literally disgusted by the idea that people in the Yellowjackets community genuinely think that they can behave this way to someone who was literally just having fun on his own page.

He wasn’t forcing his views onto anyone, and he wasn’t causing any harm. Assholes need to learn to leave people alone.

I never really interacted with Josh through my actual accounts, but I was an anon of his for a while and really enjoyed talking to him through those means, and I hope he will one day be comfortable enough to come back on to the platform so I can ask him what he thinks of random UK sweets again.

Cause yeah, we didn’t know each other, and we didn’t talk much, but his blog was very important to me to help me go through my own bout of gender identity issues and I know it helped so many others too. So fuck anyone who ever hurt deerlottie’s feelings, or diminished him, or targeted him in any way.

And if you see this by some random miracle Josh, I hope you’re doing okay, and that you are happier without the pressure of asshole transphobes. Sincerely, your biggest fan.

How it feels logging onto Yellowjackets tumblr with no Josh aka deerlottie,,, I don’t fully understand what happened. But from the posts I have seen about his deactivation, it seems like it was brought about because of transphobic bullying/harassment. A big fuck you to anyone who was so put off by trans headcanons that you decided to harass and bully. Block me immediately if you were one of those transphobic pieces of shit, or if you’re a transphobe in general just block me.

deerlottie/Josh’s account helped a lot of people with their identity, and sexuality, as well as just being a safe no fun place for users/followers to interact with each other and him, personally every interaction I had with Josh was so kind and respectful, I can’t fathom why someone would send hate for something so small compared to the big picture

i just wanted to say that i agree with everything you've said in your posts about transphobia, and i'm glad that so many people are speaking out at the moment. however, i don't think it's right to say “it's pretty clear that so-and-so is behind the harassment” based on a generalized post. i don’t mean to sound like i’m defending jokeson or what they said, but i looked through their account after seeing your post, and to be fair, it doesn’t even seem like they’ve interacted with the yjs x reader content. i’ve seen multiple accounts, both openly and privately, being against transmasc/transfem content in the yjs community (specifically here on tumblr) over the past few months, so i think it’s a stretch to assume that a specific person is the aggressor and to start a witch hunt over it when we don’t even know who it was, especially when, unfortunately, so many people in the fandom are against that type of content. it could’ve been anybody tbh. pointing fingers like that, especially with no direct evidence, makes us no better than the anon(s) who started all this, and it could cause unnecessary harm.

Looking at their blog theyve clearly interacted with deerlotties posts prior and quite literally hours after Josh left, they posted posts that are pretty clearly voicing the same points the hateful anons were.

And to me personally, what im saying isnt necessarily "oh here it is this is the person", if there even is just one. It's just my personal belief. Regardless of whether they sent the asks, what jokeson posted was vile transphobic rhetoric disguised as some feminist agenda and posting that directly after Josh deleted, when they were clearly following his content, shows that they are in support of the points these anons were making. It also shows that more people than i even knew support these ideas that trans people and their headcanons arent welcome in this fandom.

I personally have no interest in interacting with anyone who agrees with those posts. That's the kind of language that fuels the hate that drove my friend off this platform and the type of thought patterns that easily evolve into full blown transphobia. Everybody is free to make their on conclusions but i dont tolerate any kind of discrimantion against trans people on my blog.
