After presenting myself with a meme I made in like 1 minute, I'm doing something totally not embarrasing and sharing a fic.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/60867085
Is mostly about Dusknoir and Celebi talking after Special Episode 5, because there's so little about their relationship at that specific point. With some hints towards their future Exploration Team named How-Can-This-Lizard-Be-So-Dense.

Content Creator Year in Review
I was tagged by @hobicomeholla29 💜💜💜
First creation and most recent creation of 2020:
The first fic that I started was Bon Voyage, Noona (and I swear part 2 is starting soon!). The most recent fic that I finished was Office Hours, with the incomparable Professor!Namjoon.
One of your favourite creations from 2020:
The first fic that I finished this year was In the Margins. I love Writer!Yoongi, and the story and characters mean a lot to me. But the reason I’m saying it’s my favorite is because it’s the fic that really got me back into writing, and I have ARMY, Yoongi, Agust D, D-2, and “Dear My Friend” to thank for that.
One creation you’re really proud of:
I’m sorry, I can’t pick one! I’m really proud of The Road to You. It’s an OT7 x Reader fic with each chapter dedicated to one member, and it’s the longest fic (100k+ words) I’ve written so far. I’m also really proud of Hideaway, which is a Jin x Reader fic. I absolutely LOVE Hideaway Jin. I would laugh out loud while writing him.
I’m proud of these two because I played with nonlinear storytelling in both, and I got really lost in the world-building. There are also lots of strong emotions, important themes, and hidden, personal meanings in both stories.
A creation that took you forever:
Office Hours (and the rest of my intended Dec WIPs) took so long to finish because I started running out of steam and energy toward the end of this year. I’m so glad that it came together in the way that it did. The little break that I took actually helped me a lot as a writer!
A creation from 2020 that received the most notes:
People seemed to really like Matchmaker, and ugh, it’s one of my favorites, too, I just love all of these stories so much! But watching people respond to Matchmaker was so awesome and funny! I had so much fun writing it, and I feel like people have a lot of fun reading it.
I remember getting so excited to see so many comments and notes regarding the Yoongi scenes in Chapters 01 and 05 (my heart is pounding just thinking about them). But the thing that really got me the most notes was the infamous Jungkook voice memo in Chapter 04. Damn, I really, really love these scenes!
A creation you think deserved more notes:
I’m just surprised anybody reads anything I write, but I think if I had to pick one, I’d say Idol Hands. Whenever I go back to it, I feel more and more proud of it. It’s also very special to me. Ooh, I also really enjoyed writing a choose-your-own-ending thing for this one, in celebration of Jungkook and Namjoon’s birthdays!
A new fandom you joined and a creation you made for it:
Obviously, BTS!
A creation you made that breaks your heart:
A Weekend with Noona breaks my heart. It was hard to watch the characters go through what they needed to go through, but it was also a story that helped me process lots of things.
A ‘simple’ creation that you really love:
I started practicing writing the guys’ characterizations through my Letters from the Road series, which I have a soft spot for. I think my current favorite of these is probably Jimin’s letter to you from Singapore.
A creation that was inspired by another one:
Ooh, fun fact: Hideaway was actually inspired by Matchmaker because I wished Jin had featured more in Matchmaker. Wow, as I’m reflecting on that period of time, I’m remembering how much I really, really loved writing him, especially with his little funny quips and huge, caring heart!
A favourite creation created by someone else:
@gukslut wrote Cream and Sugar in 2019, but I found it this year. It (and Rattled, omg) stands out to me because those fics really inspired me to get back into writing. I learned so much from them, and I’m so grateful for their amazing body of work!
Some of your favourite content creators from this year:
First of all, I have to shout out @purplehearts1996. Everything we discuss and share has been an infinite source of inspiration, and I treasure our friendship!
She also has exquisite taste! She recommended @jamaisjoons to me, and after reading Good Girl, To Tame a Fox, and Peach Parfait, I honestly haven’t been the same. @hansolmates is also incredible, and another recommendation from @purplehearts1996! I absolutely loved Remote Learning! Consider these my tags to pass along! 💜
Whew, that was super fun! Happy 2021, everyone! Wishing that the new year brings just as much creativity and fun for us all!

Hiiii I don't know if you've already done one like this, but who are your favorite fic writers? I always love your recs and I'd love to know who your favorites are so I can check them out! Also I love your fics!
hii! thank you so much for this ask I can’t believe I hadn’t though of doing this before!
most of these authors are people that I have talked with at least once before, and I can vouch for their character 1000%. reading their writing is so much more gratifying not only because it’s well written, but because of the satisfaction of knowing that they are truly good individuals as well. I am also thinking about doing one of these recs for artists and other content creators as well if anyone would be interested in that!
I'm in the middle of midterms right now so my brain is very scattered and I'm sure I’ve forgotten some people, but know that there is no way I could possibly list all of the wonderful authors that have made a difference in my life. but please check out these authors and leave them some love if you do! as always, please stick to your own interests and don’t spread any hate!
----
please let me know if I have used any incorrect pronouns or linked anything incorrectly, or if you'd like me to unlink to something! :)
in no particular order:

where do I start? the plots she comes up with are 10/10, the writing is absolutely amazing, and she’s just generally a wonderful and considerate person. you can just tell by reading her work how passionate she is about writing when you read her work. each and every one of her fics is a huge yes from me and I'm so excited to for all of her wips! and it definitely doesn’t hurt that she’s an amazing person in general either!
✰ pinkvinyl

common work tags/tropes: bottom Louis, pwp

they only have one work out as of this date but oh boy it’s so so good!! the imagery here is just on an entirely different level. they make it so easy to visualize the scenes and it makes the fics that much more lovely to read! (+ happy birthday ashley!)

andy is amazing!! I just finished their most recent fic last night and I'm obsessed. I love the dialogue with their works and they always manage to write raw emotion so beautifully. the angst is wonderful as well! their work is always just the right amount of length and detail to always leave you wanting more :)
✰ faeriestyles

common work tags/tropes: bottom Louis, trailer park! harry, a/b/o, pwp

I'm not entirely sure why hayley doesn’t think her fics are anything less than amazing. she only has two out currently but I can’t tell you how excited I am to see some of what she’s been teasing on twitter! she has a gift with her scenes! the way she describes the settings makes you feel like you’re there with the characters, and it’s easy to get lost in the words (in the best way!).

TONS of awesome fics to choose from! there’s definitely something for everyone here. anitra is a lovely person in general and I, as well as many others, appreciate her dedication to writing consistently lovely fics over and over again. I still haven’t made my way through all of them yet but I have no doubt I’ll love them! she also runs a *podcast* for other fic writers and reviews which spreads so much positivity and happiness in our corner of the fandom :) she’s amazing!
✰ smittenwithlouis
ao3 | @smittenwithlouis | twitter
common work tags/tropes: bottom Louis, fantasy au’s, magic, hybrid Louis, mythical creatures
personal recs: x , x
super super talented! their fics are always well written and they’re probably my favorite fantasy writer in the fandom!! I really like the magic elements and the different takes on popular mythical tropes, and you can really feel the emotion through the dialogue and the settings. despite having a lot of fantasy aspects, every fic feels very realistic which is usually very hard to do with these topics!

I'm a sucker for literally all of emma’s storylines. I think I've reread her most recent fic about five times now! even after not writing for a bit it’s clear that the talent never left! she’s definitely got some classics in her portfolio and I can’t wait to see what’s coming :)

common work tags/tropes: bottom Louis, canon elements, dom/sub, a/b/o, supernatural / fantasy elements, drabbles, pwp, hybrid Louis
personal recs: x , x , x , x , x , x
I'm pretty sure everyone already knows about this author but they’re so incredibly talented and their fics are some of my favorites so I couldn’t leave them off of this list! they have thirty two lovely fics as of this day to choose from for this fandom, as well as a few for others as well. they’re another author that has something for everyone! there’s just something about the way they write that lets you get lost in it. I always finish their fics with a smile on my face and feeling fulfilled from another wonderful read!
✰ itjustkindahappened
ao3 | @tequiladimples
common work tags/tropes: bottom Louis, fluff, mythology, drabbles
personal recs: x
I still need to finish reading the rest of their works but I cannot say enough about ‘collision’! this author’s attention to detail and dedication to accuracy and descriptions in their writing is just incredible! you can tell just how much time and effort went into it, and, in my opinion, it was so so worth it! I admire them so much :) it’s so refreshing when these kinds of tropes are well done and you can just get lost in the writing from the first word down to the last line!
✰ delsicle
ao3 | @eeveelou
common work tags/tropes: bottom Louis, a/b/o, ‘thick alpha’ verse, pwp, dunkirk inspired works, mpreg, polyamory, some dark themes / horror, Alex from dunkirk, drabbles
personal recs: x , x , x , x , x
another fandom favorite! I've been absolutely obsessed with ‘feeling it out’ since it was first published! they write a/b/o (and everything else!) so well that they make it look easy! the characterizations are so unique and I've never read anything like them before - I can’t get enough! I always look forward to their posts and already know it’ll be one of my new favorites!
✰ jaerie
ao3 | @jaerie
common work tags/tropes: a/b/o, bottom Louis, bottom harry, canon elements, gender swap, drabbles, mpreg, historical au’s, pwp
personal recs: x , x , x ,
I really admire this author because of the way they tend to go against the grain. they write the things they want and it’s obvious that they enjoy it, and I really admire their ability to do so! there are tons of options here as well! (check the tags before reading!)
✰ louizsv
ao3 | @louizsv
common work tags/tropes: bottom Louis, a/b/o, d/s dynamics, vampires, some fantasy / supernatural elements
personal recs: x , x
their first fic still has me absolutely floored - it’s definitely one of my all time favorites! their writing is usually between 10k - 20k but it’s amazing the amount of detail and plot they can articulate in that length. if you’re looking for a simple, cute, lovely read, you’ve chosen the right author! :)
✰ brooklyn_babylon
ao3 | @brooklyn-babylon
common work tags/tropes: bottom harry, pwp
personal recs: x
I'm not sure if they want me to tag their main account so I'll just tag the one above :) this author definitely has a way with words! I only found their work recently and it hasn’t disappointed throughout the many rereads in the time since. they write tension and emotion beautifully and their characterization is lovely! I'm looking forward to anything else they might publish!
✰ 2tiedships2
ao3 | @2tiedships2 | twitter
common work tags/tropes: bottom Louis, a/b/o, enemies to lovers, fake dating, fluff
personal recs: x , x , x
pretty sure I've already talked about this author several times but I couldn’t leave them off! their fics are written so beautifully and realistically that you cannot put it down until it’s over. the first time I found them I fell down a rabbit hole and read all of their works within the week! I reread their fics on a monthly basis and I have absolutely no regrets.
✰ disgruntledkittenface
ao3 | @disgruntledkittenface
common work tags/tropes: bottom Louis, bottom harry, drabbles, d/s elements, gender swapping / girl direction, hurt/comfort, fluff
personal recs: x , x
I so much admire the variety in these fics, as well as the time and dedication this author has put forth for readers. it’s obvious how much they love writing! everything from the meet-cute’s to the smut is exceptionally well written and immersive. their work has been and will always be very close to my heart , so if you check them out please leave them some love! :) (also please make sure to check the tags before you read!)
✰ summerwine
ao3 | @smrwine
common work tags/tropes: bottom Louis, pwp, feminization, dom/sub
personal recs: x , x , x
I'm sure this author is also no stranger! they truly have a gift for writing such aesthetically pleasing and wonderfully worded fics, stock full with dreamy settings and descriptions. their writing is just on a whole different kind of genre and I don’t think I'll ever get tired of reading and rereading their works!
✰ loadedgunn
ao3 | @loaded-gunn
common work tags/tropes: bottom harry, bottom Louis, pwp, dom/sub, gender swap / girl direction
personal recs: x , x , x
reading this author’s fics is almost like you’re being allowed into a private moment between the characters. sometimes I even hold my breath when I'm reading so I don’t disturb the moment! this writing is soft and lovely and every single scene is thick with emotion in the best way. the chemistry between their characters is insane!
✰ edensrose
ao3 | @holdingthornsandroses | twitter
common work tags/tropes: bottom Louis, historical au
personal recs: x
I have yet to read this author’s second work but I have no doubt it will be just as absolutely amazing as the first one was! I am amazed at their ability to twist such a classic storyline and completely make it feel like their own, and to do so effortlessly. I adore their attention to detail and originality in their fics and I can’t wait until I have some time to dig into their latest one! (and it helps that they’re just a very lovely person!)
✰ angelichl
ao3 | @angelichl
common work tags/tropes: bottom Louis, bottom harry, uni au’s, a/b/o, dom/sub, supernatural elements, drabbles
personal recs: x , x , x
reading this author’s work is like getting immersed in another world. I have yet to find another author that can so beautifully write this melancholic and yet morally satisfying type of aura through their words. this is another person that writes dialogue and emotion very tactfully, and it really resonates when reading. (check the tags!)
✰ istajmaal
ao3
common work tags/tropes: bottom Louis, bottom harry, phone sex operator fic, pwp, dom/sub, gender swapping
personal recs: x , x , x , x , x , x
oh boy I'm already sweating! I really really enjoy the way that this author describes and I hope they come back at some point! all of their storylines are so unique and very refreshing. not to mention how they have a way of writing smut that literally has me so hooked into the story that I forget to breathe sometimes! truly a fantastic writer!
✰ mercutionotromeo
ao3 | @mercutionotromeo
common work tags/tropes: bottom harry, pwp, daddy kink, dom/sub, fluff, drabbles, gender swapping, light age play
personal recs: x , x , x , x , x , x
one of my all time favorite authors!!! I've been reading their works for years now and I still can’t get enough. it’s soft and lovely and warm and just very very comforting in general. they have a way of making their fics seem like an entire little world no matter how short or long they are. they haven’t written in a bit but I'll continue dutifully waiting on a notification!
✰ sunflowerstyles
ao3 | @sunflowerstyles
common work tags/tropes: bottom Louis, hurt/comfort, daddy kink,

this author is kind of like the b!L version of mercutionotromeo, at least in my opinion. their last fic was published in 2016 but I've reread their work so many times since then in hopes they'll come back at some point! this person does a wonderful job with angst & hurt/comfort and when I'm in the mood for those tropes these fics are definitely some of my first contenders! (make sure to check the tags! some of the hurt/comfort aspects may be triggering for some readers). lots of emotion and very soft, loving fics!

please let me know if you need any more! happy reading and I hope you find some more lovely authors to choose from! :)

Intro to Arcana Bonanza
Hello hello, all! I hope you’re all having a lovely day!
After a few months of being very active in the Arcana fandom here on Tumblr and playing the game for about a year, I have decided to create a side blog dedicated to The Arcana! My main blog, @daneel-the-sister-of-castiel, is just too much of a mess for me to dedicate to one fandom.
I have had the privilege to meet so many lovely individuals within the Arcana fandom and have come across so many talented creators whose work I want to dedicate a blog to. Special shout outs to @julians-chest-hair, @sketching-jess, @apprenticesofia, @harmonyowl, @ayeyocitrus, and @supersaltylikethedeadsea for inspiring me to create this new, hopefully positive, Arcana safe space. If you’re not following them and are into the Arcana fandom, I highly recommend following them as they have so much awesome content and are very sweet individuals.
Some info about myself: My nickname is America, and that’s what I’ll go by on this blog. I’m a young adult female (pronouns she/her) with a passion for romance and adventure of the literary kind. I am an INFP, a Virgo, and a Hufflepuff. My favorite LIs are Julian (ultimate favorite) and Lucio (a very close second). It goes without saying that I will not tolerate any hate towards Lucio or myself for liking him. We all are welcome to our opinions, but we must be respectful of our differences. I am also an avid writer who loves to write fanfiction and have another side blog dedicated to my writing @fanfictionamerica. I should also let you know that my inbox is always open, and you all are welcome to come by and message me, start a friendship, or have someone to rant to or fangirl with. I’m always looking for some good conversation!
My newly created fan apprentice is Mileena Teyleir (pronouns she/her), and her love interest is Julian and maybe Lucio (I haven’t decided if I want to make a separate apprentice for Lucio or not). You are welcome to ask information about her, draw her, write about her, or ship her with your apprentices so long as you don’t steal her. I’ll be making an information post about her in the next few days, so you can get to know more about her!
(rules and more information shared below the cut)
Now, let’s lay out some ground rules. I want to keep this blog as positive and respectful of a place as possible. This means:
• No bullying.
• No character hate.
• No depiction of non-canon abuse towards a character.
• No depictions of rape or incest or anything of that nature.
• No hate towards other users.
• No stealing or plagiarism.
• Submitted works should be properly tagged.
• No content with lots of mature language should be submitted. Content with some language will sometimes be shared, but never too intense.
• No NSFW content. Slightly suggestive content may be shared as well, but never full-blown NSFW content.
Some more information:
• You are welcome to share your work on this blog as well as other people’s work. I have a submit button on this blog for a reason, and I created this blog to share amazing Arcana content as well as participate more in the fandom with my fan apprentice. However, if you submit someone else’s work, it must be with their explicit permission and must be properly credited to the original creator. If not, I will remove it.
• Discourse may be shared, but there will not be a lot of it and if shared, the original creators and other’s opinions must be respected. I rarely participate in discourse, so there will not be much.
• Suggestions as to content I should share on this blog are welcomed and encouraged. In the future, I might even create masterlists of different content and creators (so long as I have permission from the people themselves to do so) to organize content shared on this blog.
• Giveaways and commission information will and can be shared.
That should be it for now. If I think of anything else, I’ll update this page. I would love to see this blog to get some exposure, so the wonderful content can be shared with as many people as possible. Reblogs and shout-outs are appreciated but not necessary. I hope to create a wonderful blog that shares the beauty of the Arcana fandom and look forward to sharing my passion with other amazing people! Here’s to hoping you all enjoy this new creation.
Until next time, your fellow Arcana fan, @ajulianromantic 💜

1. What’s your name
Kate
2. Favorite fandom memory
I think TVD finale, tbh? I mean it was utterly crap overall and I haven’t even watched TVD for some time but it was so very very good for us.
And it was so much fun, staying up until 4 AM just to watch that glorious 30 or so seconds of an ending together with some of my fandom friends and then the fandom high after that moment was amazing.
3. Favorite Fanfic
I have lots but all time favourites include:
“Love Interruption” by idiot-wind89
“The Devil’s Backbone” by @willowaus
“Hostage” by AddriannaDestiny
4. Favorite fanfic quote
A lot of, probably but one that really moved me is from @austennerdita2533 ‘s fic “El Sabor del Sol, Sangre, y Salsa“:
“What you need to feel right now is the power and passion of unity,” he continued. “What you need to know is that it exists; it is not lacking. You need to understand how it can be contained in equal movement among worthy partners—half you and half me.”
I even made “half you and half me” into one of my otp tags for klaroline, I love it that much!
Also, this one from “Wicked Schemes” by @willowaus:
“The world didn’t stop spinning, there was no big musical swell like in the movies, but it was enough to be standing there together, listening to the heartbeat of New Orleans and knowing they had both found someone they could rely on, someone they loved until the end of time. And wasn’t that something for a man who was thought to be incapable of love and a girl who had always believed herself to not be good enough for it?”
5. Favorite video
Hands down klaroline + wolves without teeth video, by genius and lovely @captndevil - I LOVEITILOVEITILOVEIT, check out her other videos too!

Black Woman Creator: Jamie Broadnax
Jamie Broadnax is a blogger and founder of Black Girl Nerds. She has written for Madame Noire and The Mary Sue. In 2014, Jamie was accredited by MSNBC The Grio.com’s Top 100 list for being an online community builder in the tech space and innovator for Black women to feel comfortable with embracing their nerdiness. In the September 2014 issue of Marie Claire magazine, Jamie was recognized by TV powerhouse Shonda Rhimes as one of her favorites to follow on Twitter and AT&T’s The Bridge as one of Four Black Techies To Follow On Twitter. Most recently, Jamie completed a successful Kickstarter campaign to create Universal Fan Con, a multi-fandom Con dedicated to inclusion highlighting women, LGBTQ, PoC & the Disabled and is a managing partner with the company The Black Geeks. On Feb. 1, 2017, she launched the podcast Misty Knight’s Uninformed Afro Podcast, the first podcast dedicated to giving Black superheroines their due. She also hosts Rewire Radio’s series “Get It Right” that fuses reproductive justice issues with social justice topics. In her spare time, she likes to write, read books, and live-tweet TV shows. Jamie spends a significant amount of time on Twitter connecting with the BGN online community, and when she’s not tweeting, she enjoys reading comic books and traveling to conventions to meet and greet fans. We spoke to Jamie about her work as a creator.
Black Girls Create: What do you create?
I create content for a website called Black Girl Nerds. I’m the Editor-in-Chief and in that role I write editorials, film critiques and TV recaps, and sometimes personal essays. But I also edit and assist with making sure our articles look good when they’re on the site, and that they’re SEO friendly. I also create podcasts. Every week we air a weekly podcast where we interview celebrities and special guests and talk about nerdy and geeky things. And then I am the executive producer and cohost of the podcast Misty Knight’s Uninformed Afro, where we talk about black superheroines in comic books. I’m also currently creating a book that’s going to be coming out next year, which is pretty awesome.
BGC: So you’re doing everything, basically. But all of this, for the most part, is under Black Girl Nerds. What made you start this platform?
I had always been interested in different websites that spoke to geek and nerd subculture, but when I looked on the internet I only saw white people, and never really saw any images of women that looked like me. So five years ago I just went on Google and typed in “black girl nerds” to see what would come up, and nothing came up, and I just thought that was crazy. I already had a blogger account at that time so I went ahead and launched a blog with that name just so I could see it pop up on Google. And then from there I slowly built it into this online community, where first it was just about me and my personal rants and raves about all things geek. Then other folks latched onto the site and saw what I was doing and wanted to be a part of it and it became what it is today.
BGC: How has that transition, that evolution of Black Girl Nerds gone?
I think the evolution and the transition was fairly easy because, though I didn’t know this at the time, I was definitely filling a need. So the minute someone saw that there was a website about Black women in geek culture, women everywhere who are a part of this subculture wanted to express themselves whether that was through writing, doing vlog posts, or doing podcasts, they just wanted to contribute to the space because it’s a space that was so rare at the time. Now it’s great, everybody else is doing content that’s about the subculture, which is good because mainstream is paying attention to that now. But back in 2012 there weren’t really any spaces doing what I was doing, so folks were easily wanting to get involved somehow, and that’s how it’s built up to where it is because I was able to get a lot of writers to contribute articles, I was able to get a lot of folks help create podcast episodes with and really have a staff of people behind the scenes to help keep this machine going. So the transition, believe it or not, was a fairly easy one over time.
BGC: Within that transition you’ve built up different relationships and networks. How have those connections helped to push Black Girl Nerds into the platform that it has now?
Social media has been a great conduit to connect with other brands and other content creators that are doing what I’m doing, like The Fan Bros, Black Nerd Problems, Geeks of Color, Graveyard Shift Sisters, and The Black Geeks (who I’m co-founding a convention with). I think it’s important to try to foster and connect with folks because you can build really great things out of those relationships. And I’m very grateful to Twitter. Twitter is where I’ve met everybody in this digital space. I live in Virginia Beach and a lot of the folks I connect with when I go to the cons are from really big cities, so most of them I haven’t met until I do go to New York Comic Con or San Diego Comic Con. So it’s great to be able to use the internet for good when many times when we hear about the internet we always hear about the negative things, but the internet can actually be very helpful in building a brand.
BGC: What have been your favorite moments in working on BGN?
Definitely meeting the people that I have followed and who follow me on Twitter has been fantastic. I know it sounds trite and cliche but I really love the fans. I really love meeting with people at cons and special events and seminars and talks. Going across the country and just meeting people face to face outside of the four corners of the internet is really great. And then you get to meet the occasional celebrity or two that is a fan of your work and that’s awesome. So to get praise from people like Shonda Rhimes in the past and having celebrities be familiar with your work and say that they read your work, that’s humbling and it’s pretty cool because starting out I didn’t know if anybody was going to read this or if anybody cared. I created it for selfish reasons, I wasn’t trying to appeal to a certain kind of person per say, or I wasn’t trying to get on someone’s radar, I just wanted to see myself. So I’m glad that it has a universal message that speaks to a lot of people.
BGC: And you’ve also launched Universal Fan Con. How did that come about?
I mentioned briefly The Black Geeks. We’d been following each other online, pretty much since I started the Twitter account. I had always wanted to do a con and even before connecting with The Black Geeks people within the BGN community were like “you should do a Black Girl Nerds Con,” because there’s such a large following, and we do all these live tweets, and there’s this level of engagement that happens on the Twitter account where a lot of the people I tweet with want to meet with the fellow followers. So that was something that was in the ether and then I finally connected with Robert Butler and Rob Gill and we decided to get together and put together a con and bring all of our brands and all of our audiences together and make it focus on diversity, inclusion, these things that we talk about all the time on our podcasts, on Twitter, that we write essays and articles about. Let’s actually do the damn thing and make it into a con, and that’s how Universal Fan Con happened.
BGC: Who or what continues to inspire you?
My mom inspires me often because being a single mom she’s never had anybody else to help her. So her independence and her strength is definitely what inspires me, and I always look to that to get me through the day. And Shonda Rhimes. I am huge fan and I’m excited about what she’s doing and her brand more and more each day, and so many Black women like her.
BGC: Who do you hope gets the most out of the work that you do?
Definitely Black women first and foremost because this is for them. But I mean I hope everybody really gets something out of it and I get feedback every now and then from people that reinforces that I’m kind of steering in the right direction. Even today this white guy was complimenting me about the work that I’m doing and that’s cool because probably 95% or more of the content that’s on BGN doesn’t necessarily speak to his demographic but he’s been reading it for over 2 years and he loves it. So that says a lot about the kind of work that we’re doing, that we do appeal to the masses, we are universal in our message but we do focus on telling stories through the lens of Black women, which is important. So yeah, I definitely hope to reach everybody, but this is for us.
BGC: Why is it important as a black person to create?
I think a lot more of us are in digital media than traditional forms of media because digital gives us more access. But I think that at the end of the day, the reason why I create the work that I do is because I want to see myself reflected. I want to see women like me talk about things that are in this geek subculture that several years ago people would be like “oh, you’re into that? You’re not a nerd.” Just because you didn’t see a Black girl LARPing you would assume that she’s not into it. So that’s why it’s important for all of us to be in these spaces where we’re talking about Harry Potter, where we’re talking about our favorite sci-fi fantasy genre fiction shows, where we’re talking about cosplay, because if we don’t see ourselves then people think that we’re not a part of that fandom and that’s just factually incorrect.
BGC: How do you balance creating with the rest of your life?
That’s a big question because that’s a hard thing that I am juggling with right now. A lot of people don’t know this but I work a daytime job and do BGN at the same time. So I don’t get a chance to devote all of the hours of my day to BGN like I would like to. Luckily, I do have a large team of people that are able to help assist with running certain parts of BGN during the day when I’m not available and then I’m able to do what I need to do at night. Sooner than later I would like to be in a position where I don’t have to worry about that day job and BGN could be that, but it’s definitely a challenge each day, more than a year ago because as it grows there’s a larger and higher demand for content.
BGC: How do you deal with burnout when doing something you love?
It’s weird I haven’t gotten to the point where I’m burned out yet, believe it or not. I really love what I do, I think that’s what adds fuel to the fire here. If I didn’t like this, or I felt mediocre about what I’m doing, then getting burnt out would be easy and it would’ve happened long before now. But for some reason the passion behind this just keeps me going even when I’m on two hours sleep. Whether I’m writing or editing, I just love being a part of this community. Or whether I’m suffering from jetlag after flying from one city to the next doing either speaking engagements or press at a con, the work that I’m doing is enough to keep me going.
BGC: Do you have a support system around your work?
Yeah, I have a team of writers, copy editors, and podcasters. We also have a Patreon so a lot of the fans in the community have been generous by supporting us financially which allows us to pay for travel, pay writers here and there -- not all of us get paid but some of the writers and copy editors get paid. It’s important that people get compensated for their work and I try to do the best I can with what I have. But that support system is there and I’m definitely grateful for that.
BGC: Any advice for young creators or ones just starting?
The advice that I always give people, young and old, that I think anybody can really receive is to just do your own thing and don’t focus on what everybody else is doing. Do something completely different. Sometimes we get caught up in the success of other people. We think oh well I can do that same thing exactly the way they’re doing it. And you replicate someone else’s success and it doesn’t always pan out the same way. So try to be unique and do something different, and try to fill a void. I didn’t realize I was doing that. I was trying to do something different and it definitely paid off. So yeah, fill a void, try to reach out and do something -- if there’s something you’re upset isn’t represented or it’s something you rarely see in media, go out there and create it.
BGC: Do you have any future projects that you’re working on?
I have a book that I’m currently working on that’s due to release next year, so that’s exciting. And I’m still working with the team at Universal Fan Con, which is happening April 27-29th in Baltimore, so definitely check us out there. And I just got an awesome opportunity with the SyFy network, I’m an advisor on their board, so I’m very excited for thing they have in store. They are celebrating their 25th anniversary and are really trying to be cognizant of the fans and focus on diversity and inclusion in their content so I’m honored that they would ask me to be a part of that celebration. And, of course, just managing BGN.

Live Mind Blog #3
Posted: 03/01/2017
Welcome!
Thank you so much for your interest in the Live Mind blog! I’m actually surprised to be here. Moment of truth: this edition almost did NOT happen.
Unfortunately, I was having dealings with every creator’s nemesis, “discouragement”. I simply couldn’t bring myself to believe that continuing what I’ve started was necessary. For a brief period of time, my heart wasn’t in it. I realized a change was needed in order to continue.
I went back to some of the feedback I’ve received so far on the blog, and found it all positive! For days, I kept asking myself: “What do you really want to do?” There was already an answer to that question. Then I asked myself: “Why haven’t I started yet?” There was no answer.
One morning, during a desperate search for inspiration, I concluded that I was allowing too many things distract me. Things that weren’t contributing to my goals, both in creativity and life-wise. I decided to separate myself from everything that has been hindering my progression and to immediately start working on all the ideas sitting in my head.
That morning is the reason this edition exists. Redirecting my focus towards everything that motivates me was exactly what I needed to do. I had to push forward.
Dream Support:
Paige, Music Blogger
Paige is a 24 year-old music blogger from Toronto, Canada. Inspired by her love for discovering new music and bands, she started her own blog online known as Paige Backstage.
Besides her editorial skills, Paige has had the opportunity to interview many artists in her local music scene, and has continued to grow further her career on the internet and in real life. What I admire most about Paige is that she shot for the stars and has been successful in doing exactly what she wants to do.
“I worked for a record label and was constantly disappointed by how my voice was ignored, despite me being the exact demographic of who they were trying to sell music to. I decided that the only way I'd be heard was to create my own space on the internet and to do it my own way...so I did.”
~ Paige
Some of Paige’s inspirations include Hayley Williams (front woman for the band Paramore), Qcknd, and Gwen Stefani, but most of her inspiration comes from her friends. “I've surrounded myself with a really cool group of people that all work in creative industries, and bouncing ideas off each other usually sparks some unrelated idea in me,” states Paige.
Paige also started another blog called At The Barricade. If you love music news about your favorite bands, as well as a great aesthetic, you’d love this blog!
There’s so much I could say about Paige and her career. It’s insane to think that this is just the start of it. She has so many future plans, including revamping her blog to grow along with her, making nifty gear, or promoting those who do. She would love to have her own music festival tour someday, but in the meantime, her main goal is to have a full-time career on the internet.
At this rate, it’s almost guaranteed Paige will achieve all of those goals in the near future. She’s been one of my biggest inspirations for starting Live Mind, so please be sure to follow her progress on any of the following platforms:
Blog. Instagram. Facebook. Twitter. Tumblr. YouTube. At The Barricade.
New Noise:
“I want to make meaningful music that people can relate to. I want to make people feel something while listening to my music.“
~ Untraceable Sounds
Untraceable Sounds, is a 17 year old Danish musician. She started her music project on November 4, 2015. She posted her first guitar cover on Youtube, soon after teaching herself guitar earlier that year. Untraceable Sounds started referring to the video clips she posted online in order to keep improving. She began by posting a cover of a song every few months, but early on, it became clear that her desire was to make her own songs instead.
“I was writing many poems, and I wanted to transform them into songs, because I have always had a passion for music. But I played drums, and I didn’t feel like I was able to express myself as much through drums as I can with guitar. So as soon as my dad started learning guitar, I picked it up too,” she states. In only two years, she has made so much progress musically! She dedicates all her free time to writing and recording songs and is truly happy with what she’s been doing.
Her favorite band is PVRIS, which happens to be one of her biggest inspirations. She also gets inspiration from various musicians, movies, poems, and the like. Anything that sparks a feeling inside inspires her.
Right now Untraceable Sounds is recording her upcoming EP. She wants to make the best music she has ever made with this EP, learning as much about recording, mixing and mastering songs as possible. Since she is a solo project, this is a bit challenging, but she continues to do her best to learn and become a better musician everyday. In the future, she would love to collaborate with many talented musicians. Regarding the EP, she’s planning to release it on Spotify, Apple Music, and more!
The project Untraceable Sounds has only just begun, and with the efforts she’s already made, she will likely go far with it! After reading her story, I am beyond thrilled to have featured her in this blog. Please support this amazing project by following it on these platforms:
YouTube. Soundcloud. Instagram. Twitter.
Amped Artists:
By: Anjali, Age: 14
These unique pieces were created by Anjali. She’s a 9th grader with an interesting story:
“I started actually hating art. I never had the patience for it and it always seemed too difficult and tedious to actually do. Sure, the end results were pretty, but it seemed like the time was not worth the effort. One day in 6th grade, we had this project: to combine two animals together. I decided to do an owl and mouse...and that was the first time I was truly interested in art.”
~Anjali
In the 7th grade, Anjali moved to a new school district where her art stood out amongst the rest of the students. She spent all her lunch periods in the art room drawing and talking with the art teachers and was eventually accepted into Studio in Art. Her art has even been put up in local show cases!
Since the beginning, she has grown so much in her art. I really admire her experimental mentality! I find that using art as an escape is one of the best ways to quietly express yourself freely and creatively. This is exactly what Anjali does and it’s obviously working out great. Her biggest inspiration is her sister, who is also very talented with art and constantly helps Anjali improve. In the future, Anjali hopes to become an animator or video game designer and be a radio hostess for side work. “The joy that those two ideas gives me (as an animator dealing with art and radio hostess dealing with music) is overwhelming,” she says. What could be more fitting than that? Her story proves that trying new things can create an entirely different outlook on the future. Possibilities are truly endless!
Live Minds:
The Wonder Years at the Marquee, Tempe AZ.
The above compilation was done by McKenna, an 18 year-old aspiring photographer from Arizona. Like most photographers, she started out by simply taking pictures with her phone. Eventually, she got a better camera so she could further her progress. She was placed in photography class last year and her teacher inspired her to take photography more seriously.
McKenna enjoys taking pictures of whatever she likes, including nature and sunsets, as well as pictures at concerts.
“I'm really into the whole "alternative scene" and I go to a lot of pop punk shows. Elmakias (photographer) is a pretty big inspiration in the whole music-photography thing.”
~McKenna
Right now, McKenna takes photos as a hobby, but in the future she would like to do photography in college. “I just really like going to concerts and I really like taking pictures so I'm combining all that together. I think it's cool that I have opportunities to do that,” she says. A little goes a long way, and it’ll be awesome to see her grow in photgraphy! You can follow more of her awesome work on Instagram and Tumblr.
Do It Now, Thank Me Later:
As mentioned in my sappy introduction, it is very common for creative minds to get discouraged. It’s important to not give up when you hit low points in your ventures. Remember, every person or project you’ve looked up to has been discouraged along the way. You have to push forward.
Challenge #3: Eliminate distractions.
In this day and age, it is nearly impossible not to be influenced by social media. However, this can be a good thing! Instead of allowing it to distract you from what you want to be doing, you can use it to inspire you. Unfollow pages that are not contributing to your creativity, and follow new pages that will continue to inspire you to bring your ideas to life! Force inspiration.
Feel free to tell me how it goes at [email protected]. Your story could be featured in an upcoming blog!
Get Inspired:
For this edition, I decided to include some of my recent work. In early 2016, I purchased a camera in order to relaunch my YouTube channel. Recently, I decided to use video as a way to express my ideas more creatively. Rather than simply stating my thoughts on camera, I decided to show them. If you’re interested, please click the link below:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFb3IwDppjE&t=49s
I hope to continue making videos like this, in order to inspire myself and others.
Thank You:
Thank you so much for reading this edition of Live Mind. I’m extremely grateful for all of you willing to be involved in this project. There would be no content without all of your support, and I can’t thank you enough! Don’t give up on what you love. Continue making great things. Dream louder.

via Screaming Frog
A few months ago I posted an article that outlined some of the tools & techniques we use at Screaming Frog for coming up with content ideas. Within that post I touched upon several websites that are worth visiting when you’re in need of inspiration, and I wanted to expand on that aspect of ideation by hearing from several experts in the content marketing field.
If you work in content, it’s a good idea to build up a bank of sites, newsletters and Twitter accounts that you find insightful and check them on a daily basis. Not only does it help inspire you, it highlights topics and forms of content that are currently working well, which you can then use to inform your strategy.
A full list of all the sources mentioned below can be found at the bottom of the post.
Hannah Smith
Head of Outreach – Verve Search | @hannah_bo_banna
I recommend BrainPickings.org to just about everyone I meet. It’s run by Maria Popova, who writes extensively about the creative process. It’s an absolute delight, plus as she’s been writing since 2006 there’s an extensive archive to explore, plus she sends out a weekly newsletter.
Austin Kleon is a writer who draws. He authored Steal Like an Artist, the book which finally helped me figure out my own creative process. He also sends out a weekly newsletter which I’d recommend subscribing to.
Matt Muir is an excellent human who shares a bunch of interesting stuff on twitter, plus he curates the wonderful Imperica newsletter, Web Curios which you should subscribe to – it’ll brighten up your Friday, I promise.
Newsletters aside, there are a few sites I like to browse for inspiration:
This Is Colossal
Fast Company
The Guardian’s Art & Design section
Dangerous Minds
Some of our favourite examples from Hannah’s list are:
Lovely Photo Manipulations Utilizing Stock Photography
The NSA’s newly declassified propaganda posters are wild
Nigerian women’s elaborate hairstyles – in pictures
Red Devils, Black Bats & Angry Cats: The Wacky Art of Vintage Fireworks Packaging
Danny Ashton
Founder and CEO – NeoMam Studios | @dannyashton
/r/dataisbeautiful
FlowingData
FiveThirtyEight
I have also been checking out Data USA to what data might be around the topic we are looking at.
Right now I am really loving using both Ahrefs and Buzzsumo to pull out relevant high performing content to get the creative juices flowing.
The evergreen score on Buzzsumo is great for filtering out time-sensitive news stories.
I also like to do keyword searches on the AskReddit subreddit, it’s great at identifying the top questions for a niche.
Some of our favourite examples from Danny’s list are:
Who kissed whom in The Office (US)
A Day in the Life of Americans
Gun Deaths in America
Mark Johnstone
Creative Content Consultant – MarkJohnstone.co | @epicgraphic
NYTimes Graphics on Twitter plus they do an annual roundup of their best visual storytelling.
Washington Post do the same (Twitter and roundup).
BloomBerg are also doing great stuff these days.
My absolute favourite is VisualisingData’s roundups. I also like to keep an eye on Pudding.cool, and /internetisbeautiful and /dataisbeautiful.
The IIB Awards is probably the best curation at the moment.
Plus I always pay attention to what David McCandless is doing on his own site, Information is Beautiful.
In truth, a lot of things cross my path from following Volodymyr Kupriyanov. VK (as he’s known) was my colleague at Distilled, data analyst/journalist/visualisation expert, and an awesome resource if anyone needs any research or data wizardry on their projects. He’s freelance these days :)
I used to follow ChartPorn & iLoveCharts back in the day, but they seem a little less active these days. Still worth checking out the back catalogue if you haven’t already (might take you a while!).
If anyone wants to learn more about visualising data, they should read Tufte’s book and all of the Fell in Love with Data blog (I’ve read it page to page 3 times!). And follow VisualisingData (again!).
And FlowingData is also a good place for inspiring content.
I also tend to see what other agencies are doing – at awards ceremonies or in conference presentations.
The Webby’s also show lots of very cool content – maybe something to aim for one day! :)
Some of our favourite examples from Mark’s list are:
What Music Do Americans Love the Most? 50 Detailed Fan Maps
What #eclipse2017 looked like across the country
All the Buildings in Manhattan
Seven Things to Know About Climate Change
Stacey MacNaught
Freelance SEO Consultant – StaceyMacNaught.co.uk | @staceycav
I’m a big fan of data driven content, so I like to keep an eye on Gov.uk Statistics for newly released data sets. I also like the Yougov blog as they publish regular data findings there and it’s always interesting to see what stories are then picked up further and to unpick what makes them interesting and newsworthy. You can also learn tonnes from following people who regularly create content you love. The guys at Verve Search spring to mind as immediately obvious ones. Follow them all!
But some of the very best inspiration for me comes from sitting in a room with a couple of other freelancers talking about what we’re seeing in the press and throwing ideas around over a coffee. You can’t beat people to sound off.
Some of our favourite examples from Stacey’s list are:
Car driving test data by test centre
YouGov’s Beer Map of Britain
Ryan Sammy
Creative Strategy – Frac.tl | @ryansammy Finding endless inspiration for high-quality content ideas can be challenging. Most people assume ideation (“idea generation”) is a well that can dry up — especially when you’re stuck brainstorming campaign ideas for a boring vertical. At Fractl, we collectively curate a database of inspiration that our Creative Strategists (“project managers”) use to discover new visualization tactics and generate engaging ideas. If you’re feeling stuck, here’s a quick list of our favorite sites for content inspiration:
Kaggle – a goldmine of free datasets waiting to be turned into campaigns! I use Kaggle to get an idea of how people are taking and manipulating existing datasets. Oftentimes, Kaggle helps inspire an correlating idea, or it gives you a new way to examine a dataset you didn’t even consider.I also pay attention to the forks in projects and the competitions.
Data.world – a social media community that is a cross of Github and Kaggle, where users and organizations share their data and projects. Here, you can search keywords related to your client, or follow a specific topics like technology. I personally set up alerts on new projects and popular shares for the vertical(s) we work with the most frequently.
Tableau Gallery – get inspiration from a community of data analysts and content creators! Discover new ways to visualize data based on what catches your eye, and check out what projects people are already creating in your vertical.
Flowing Data – a site dedicated to curating the cutting edge of data visualization. Pro tip: Bookmark tags from specific publishers you’re hoping to land press from (ex. New York Times) to explore the types of data stories and visualizations that these writers are interested in covering.
Curated Content Emails – There are dozens of email lists you can subscribe to for content inspiration. Two of my favorites are Data Is Plural (archives) and Numlock news (archives), both of which curate popular stories that focus on data analysis. These email blasts are a great way to see how a wide variety of publishers are covering data stories.
Github – Saved Github searches like “visualizations” or “scrapers” are an easy way to get inspired by scrapes other data analysts are doing, and they can expose you to new data scraping techniques others are using. The most important aspect of successful content creation is your ability to distill complex data into a format that will quickly resonate with a broad range of readers. These tools will get you started on your mission to create shareable content for your business!

Our team find inspiration in a number of places, and like to take in information in a number of ways.
One of our senior consultants told me she listens to the Stuff You Should Know podcast from howstuffworks.com. That podcast is really interesting because it just covers so much, and you get loads of niche information you wouldn’t find anywhere else!
Our design team obviously look for more visual sources of inspiration, and regularly look at look at Muzli, Dribbble and Behance for design. When it comes to web design, one of our visual designers recommends Awwwards.
We also all share news stories and interesting campaigns constantly, which helps give us loads of relevant inspiration for reactive ideas. Creating Truly Remarkable Marketing and Social Media Content That Lasts – Ryan Holiday [SSM058]
How do you create something that lasts in marketing and social media?
Not just for 15 minutes, or even for a year. But for a lifetime.
Today, we as marketers are so focused on what’s next. We create content, ship it, and move onto the next project without even blinking an eye. Is there another way? A way to create perennial sellers?
Best-selling author, Ryan Holiday, has dedicated his life’s work to answering that exact question. He’s studied hundreds of perennial sellers from movies and television to books and marketing campaigns.
What Ryan has found is that creators of great works don’t distinguish between the making and the marketing. The purpose, goals, frameworks, and target audience are in the creator’s mind from the moment that she or he begins the project.
In episode #58 of The Science of Social Media, we sit down with Ryan to explore the current state of marketing and social media content and how short-term thinking only creates short-term results. Ryan dives into how we as marketers and businesses can begin to think strategically about our content and create something that lasts a lifetime or more.
Let’s dive in!
How to listen: iTunes | Google Play | SoundCloud | Stitcher | RSS
In this episode, here’s what you’ll learn:
Ryan Holiday takes us through the proven process that many of the greatest creators in history have used to generate remarkable content that truly lasts. You’ll also learn tons of other insightful things like:
How marketers and businesses typically approach content creation
Why measuring success based on instant results leads to challenges and discouragement
Finding your own “blue oceans” where this is no competition
How taking calculated risks is the only true way to stand out in a sea of content
Taking risks, standing out, and doing something that is truly remarkable
3 strategies for marketers looking to create remarkable content
1. Focus on word of mouth
“At the end of the day all successful products are not successful because advertisements or celebrities, they are successful because they are good products and are recommended by other people.
I get emails from people who read my books all of the time saying that they got my book from someone who had sent them a copy. By sending out one free copy to one person, I reached all of their followers. And, if I did my job right, then it will be recommended repeatedly over time.
It’s worth thinking about how this thing that you made is going to be discovered and then working on marketing that drives that discoverability. It’s very hard to get people to pay for something that they know nothing about. I urge people in their products to ask: How are we bringing our first customers through door?”
2. Do something unexpected or surprising
“If you stopped your advertising, would anyone notice? They probably wouldn’t.
Most ads are so boring that companies have to pay extra just for people to see them!
The hack or the secret is to not be boring. Do something risky and cool. Say something unique and special. For example, Buffer’s decision to run itself in a transparent way – talking transparently about salaries and revenue – probably got the company much further than an advertising campaign ever would have.
Do things and take risks. That’s a better way to stand out and get attention online and off. Then the attention will go on for a very long time. Salary transparency is a timeless problem, it will always exist.”
3. Find and make room for controversy
“I have an expansive definition of controversy.
What you’re doing has to be consistent with who you are and what you believe in.
For example, I wrote a piece a couple of weeks ago on why I don’t think that entrepreneurs should write books. It made some people very mad and other people agreed. But I didn’t become a writer to not say what I think out of fear of hurting people’s feelings.
It’s worth knowing who your audience is and who you’re really speaking to and as long as you’re good with them, that’s what really matters.”
A Great Moment
“On the one hand, marketing is very simple. it’s finding where your customers are and giving them things that they want. On the other hand, it’s much harder in practice. a lot of people do what everyone else is doing and they don’t break through the noise.”

“This idea of ‘if you build it they will come’ ends up meaning that a lot of great content goes undiscovered and to me that’s a shame.”
“I’m always gravitating towards what they call ‘blue oceans’ where there is no competition. Doing things that others have never done before that are going to break through the noise and provide big ROI.”
“There’s no hack to building 1000 true fans, developing relationship of trust and reciprocity and you need to provide value over and over again.”
“At the end of the day all successful products are not successful because advertisements or celebrities because they’re good and recommended by other people. What your marketing is designed to do is to acquire those first customers so those customers can tell other customers.”
“If you stopped your advertising, would anyone notice? No they wouldn’t. Most ads are so boring you have to pay extra. Do things and take risks, that’s a better way to stand out and get attention.”
“I have an expansive definition of controversy. What you’re doing has to be consistent with who you are and what you believe in. Example entrepreneurs shouldn’t write books. I didn’t become a writer to not say what I think. It’s worth knowing who your audience is and who you’re speaking to and as long as you’re good with them, that’s what really matters.”
“I’ve written many blog posts and several have turned into books. I don’t remember how many tweets those blog posts got or comments they got.”
“There’s this immediacy bias in what we do in the internet because we have… we put something out there and if it doesn’t immediately get a response people might write it off.”

hii! thank you so much for this ask I can’t believe I hadn’t though of doing this before!
most of these authors are people that I have talked with at least once before, and I can vouch for their character 1000%. reading their writing is so much more gratifying not only because it’s well written, but because of the satisfaction of knowing that they are truly good individuals as well.

where do I start? the plots she comes up with are 10/10, the writing is absolutely amazing, and she’s just generally a wonderful and considerate person. you can just tell by reading her work how passionate she is about writing when you read her work. each and every one of her fics is a huge yes from me and I'm so excited to for all of her wips! and it definitely doesn’t hurt that she’s an amazing person in general either!

andy is amazing!! I just finished their most recent fic last night and I'm obsessed.

I still haven’t made my way through all of them yet but I have no doubt I’ll love them! she also runs a *podcast* for other fic writers and reviews which spreads so much positivity and happiness in our corner of the fandom :) she’s amazing!

super super talented! their fics are always well written and they’re probably my favorite fantasy writer in the fandom!!

I still need to finish reading the rest of their works but I cannot say enough about ‘collision’! this author’s attention to detail and dedication to accuracy and descriptions in their writing is just incredible! you can tell just how much time and effort went into it, and, in my opinion, it was so so worth it! I admire them so much :) it’s so refreshing when these kinds of tropes are well done and you can just get lost in the writing from the first word down to the last line!

another fandom favorite! I've been absolutely obsessed with ‘feeling it out’ since it was first published! they write a/b/o (and everything else!) so well that they make it look easy! the characterizations are so unique and I've never read anything like them before - I can’t get enough! their first fic still has me absolutely floored - it’s definitely one of my all time favorites! their writing is usually between 10k - 20k but it’s amazing the amount of detail and plot they can articulate in that length. if you’re looking for a simple, cute, lovely read, you’ve chosen the right author! :)

this author is kind of like the b!L version of mercutionotromeo, at least in my opinion. their last fic was published in 2016 but I've reread their work so many times since then in hopes they'll come back at some point! this person does a wonderful job with angst & hurt/comfort and when I'm in the mood for those tropes these fics are definitely some of my first contenders! (make sure to check the tags! some of the hurt/comfort aspects may be triggering for some readers). lots of emotion and very soft, loving fics!

please let me know if you need any more! happy reading and I hope you find some more lovely authors to choose from! :)
#ask#fic recs#reposting this because it took me all day and I don't like the way the other one posted
