#severance#severance s2 spoilers#to be clear i think they're probably gna do something interesting with mark's unsevering process like im willing to believe the process is#more gradual than we mightve assumed at first#but ep3 still seemed to suggest mark was completely unsevered. and that is a massive twist that changes everything going forward.#but then they walk it back. and that's cheap! boooo!#and now we have the SECOND course-altering twist that yes helly was helena this whole time and the others won't know how they can trust her#going forward#AND irving is out of the picture.#like maybe they will tie all of this together nicely i just think yeah its cheap to structure it this way and to make such a bold character#decision as for mark to get the unsevering procedure only for it to not actually take effect#stuff is obviously bleeding through but it's only a worthwhile risk narratively speaking if there is significant payoff (i.e. mark suffers#from the repercussions of the procedure and can also now navigate the severed floor with outside knowledge)#yea it was played as this big thing and i dont like that the writers wanted that big shocking ending without following through properly lol#thunder rambles
